Praça Santos Dumont, 116 - Gávea, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 22470-060, Brazil, Rio de Janeiro
Casual spot with extensive grill menu specializing in grilled chicken & picanha, plus draft beer.
F A N T A S T I C . The ambiance is very nice. The waiters always happy and courteous. The quality of the different meats is unsurpassed. My wife and I been going there for years and of course we will go back very SOON.
One of the best places to eat like a local Carioca in Rio
Best picanha of my life
Such a great find! We ordered the ribeye which was more than enough for 2! What a great steak, and very friendly staff! Looking forward to going back again soon :)
Amazing food (very big portions!and outstanding staff, very friendly and welcoming. They also spoke good English and explained the menu and options to us. The Picanha with the side dishes tasted amazing, highly recommend 🤤🙌🏼💯
Besides known for their excellent meat and their perfect ambience, I would like to just give a word about the owners of this fantastic restaurant. I met Marco’s literally the accident, I fell outside his restaurant, not only was he one of the only people in all of Rio that spoke English but he attend it to me, drove me to the hospital stayed with me the entire time and gave me that kind of human nurturing that only a special person can give. So if you’re out to meet an ambassador of the kindness of Brazilian hospitality and humanity you definitely want to stop by his restaurant and have a drink with one of the kindest souls I have met in a long time.
Braseiro da Gávea is one of the most best places to it the famous Brazilian Picanha Im Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and probably in the world! Its a great atmosphere where you can feel Brazil and the Carioca soul in all its essence while eating amazing meat. Be careful though, the dosis are huge!
The very best meat around. Not cheap, but really excellent. Besides, nice service, chopp, etc.
Delicious! Went with my family (7 people), we ate until we were full as it gets and paid around $60 reales per person.Food quality and quantity 5 out of 5.
My favourite restaurant in Rio the Janeiro. Everytime I go to the city, eating a steak and arroz de brocolos is a must. I start craving this as soon as the flight is booked. 100/100 would recommend. The doses are good for 3 people. For 2 youll be full
Best food I ever had! Order the picanha with broccoli rice.
Great restaurant serving the best Brazilian style menu. Great place for tourists and locals to interact with each other, as well as grab a great meal with a refreshing drink or two.
Wroth the hype. Long line but great food
Must visit if you’re un Río! Authentic food and vibe. Loved it!!!
One of my favorite places in Rio to have churrasco. I went there with several friends, the service and food were great. Due to that the place is usually growded so you should reserve upfront in order to not wait in front of the restaurant.
Stop normalizing waiting hours standing outside of this restaurant just to get a table and poor customer service right in your face. Good food though.
Very good food and great environment!
Top notch. The bbq pork is to die for. The picanha is also amazing but if you dont like beef rare than stay away from it.
Best Value and typical Rio spot! Food is great, large plates and price is good!!🤩
Service was great. Food was amazing 👍🏻
Make sure you get the Bife Ancho. One of the best steaks I’ve had in Brazil. Everything we had was good here though. Large servings. More neighborhoody, open-air restaurant then some of the other tourist spots. Highly recommended.
Best Picanha in TOWN (get the brocoli rice plus banan and egg ‘farofa’. You won’t regret it. If you want yo stay outside wait on the queu or just reserve a table in advance
A must go!!! It seems expensive, but you can share and it becomes reasonable. A true Carioca experience!!!
Great vibe. Steak a touch overdone. Side were so so. Service was great
Best food ever!
Excellent food and service! Used to come here a lot when I lived in Brazil. It has been ages without coming here and everything is exactly the same as it was before: Simply WONDERFUL!
Historical place to chat, have a beer and eat some meat and appetizers. Nothing is really good here but the aura of the place that counts.
For sure one of the best place to din in Rio de Janeiro, surrounded by beautiful people. Their Ancho Steak with Farofa is out of this world.
Had a relaxing slow Sunday lunch here. The steak was incredible- Barbecued to perfection with the fat cooked through, the middle still soft a succulent, slightly crispy on the outside. Heaps of flavour with every bite. The portion sizes were massive. Fresh home made chips. Broccoli rice which was delicious. Staff were all friendly. Although there is a disclaimer that wheat is handled in the kitchen, they were able to offer a gluten free meal. We arrived early (12ishand didn’t have to que but the que was quite long by the time we left. The local area is nice (and safewith an artisanal market and near to the botanical gardens.
Wish i stayed longer... Didnt get to say hello to the girl of my dreams... 04-3-19.... Drinks werent bad either...
Beautiful place. The food is delicious and the service is promptly. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and service, despite all the busy ins and outs of waiters carrying food in an out tables. Since the place is open to outside, be sure to wear light clothes. The broccoli rice is the most ordered side dish. Its really a must.
The BEST place for you to have a traditional carioca picanha. If you are in the Lagoa, Leblon, Gávea neighborhood dont think twice pay them a visit.
Nice place, meat was good but some pieces actually too dry
Great food, great experience, good beef and sides. Nice costumer service
This was maybe our favorite meal in Rio. The food was delicious. We had steaks of course. We also had our first caprihnas here which got us immediately a little drunk. The atmosphere around Gavea in general and this restaurant in particular was extremely fun. We looked around and saw everyone having fun and the feeling was contagious. The sides were ok, but they were mainly just unnecessary filler. I really just wanted the meat.Very fun night!
I did not enjoy the food here. I ordered filet-mignon with broccoli rice and beans. The meat portions are huge with no seasoning and my part had a raw section in the middle. The rice was soggy and the beans were not creamy. I felt that the dish needed to be more balanced in terms of textures and flavours (perhaps having some vegetables options or aromatic herbs). One dish serves 2 to 3 people.
Good steakhouse in Gávea (a Bohemian neighborhood in Rio), with high prices and high standards when it comes to meat.
Great Brazilian steakhouse/"boteco". Decent "chopp" (beerand amazing meat. A pleasure to dine here!
Typical carioca restaurant. Love to eat picanha there. Normally a very crowded place, with long waiting lines. Opt to go for lunch on week days.
Excelente place. It is typic food at very good price.
Amazing food and chopp, honest price. For weekend lunches arrive before 1pm or youll wait at least one hour for a table.
Nice corner family restruant with meals for 2, recommend file, you wont eat it all.
A carioca restaurant! This is a place where locals often go to feel home - they know the waiters and greet them like old friends, eat and drink comfort food, spend long time talking and laughing on the balcony. At lunch of week days you can ask for an "executive meal", well served for two and low cost. At evenings and nights the preferences are for appetizers and beer.Located on "Baixo Gávea", a hot place to go by night, the Braseiro is always a perfect choice. You can get there by bus or metro bus. Theres a lot of public parking area (except on Fridays, when theres a public food fair).
Amazing food with incredibly fast service once you are in a table already.Get the Picanha Completa!
Nice but pricy. Perfect for a Friday lunch.
One of the best sausages and chicken heart starters ever. Excellent beef picanha and egg fafora
Nice atmosphere, however a lot pricy, and does not serve good meat. My bife de chorizo was incredibly hard, and chewy.
Great young and artsy simple place with great food. Great brazilian picanha, egg farofa, roasted chicken! Must go to see the carioca style!
Absolutely incredible food at reasonable prices. A solid local vibe as well with few tourists. Me and two others were able to get drinks and more good than we could possibly eat for around $25 US/each. The sausages at the start of the meal are legendary and the picanha style steak comes highly recommended. The farofa and broccoli rice are great sides.
