Pariser Platz, 10117 Berlin, Germany, Berlin
Restored 18th-century gate & landmark with 12 Doric columns topped by a classical goddess statue.
Good architecture. Before going to travel in public transport in Berlin, make sure you have mask. Buy necessary ticket. I prefer everyone to buy 24hour ticket for 9 euro. You can capture good photos from there. A good opn area and youll see many people hanging out with friends and family.
Visited late morning on Wednesday. It was easy to get to but there was a protest in the area, perhaps not surprising as there are foreign embassies in the area.Overall, an iconic place to visit and take in regardless of what else may be going on.
Lovely monument, very significant for the history of Berlin. Be sure to reach it in dusk, since they light it up and it can be a really spectacular sight. Take care of your belongings and be aware of the people around you, whether because of pictures or pickpocketing.
Not a bad place but probably much overhyped. The pictures and videos of this place are much better than it actually is though still not bad. Take your pictures and either walk down the avenue to go shopping and walk to the museum island or walk to the side and visit the holocaust memorial. Riechtag is pretty close too
Even though it looks smaller in real life, its a really amazing construction! Every detail is beautiful and the place is surrounded by a nice area with gardens, fountains, cafes and, just across the street, the amazing Tiergarten. 100% worth a visit!
Really nice and beautiful.A very huge historical landmark in Berlin.Lovely place for photos too.
Very famous place! A must-visit if you’re in Berlin. Love it
Amazing! Free tour around if you want
Very easy to get to, the S-bahn is direct opposite, theres a small tourist information next to it that also sells some souvenirs, its very busy in this area so be prepared for crowds. It might be worth finding an audio guide or booking a guide onlineIts a good place to start your days as there is a plethora of others things to see a very short walk away.
Very well preserved and maintained and plenty of space to mill about. The only downside is that it would be great to have some plaques/info about it for those people who arent doing guided tours. (I know Google/Wiki is an option, but still)
Beautiful place, but if you drive there with car need to think about parking.
An iconic place to visit. We can say it gate of Berlin.
History Come To Life...😍Amazing Place to be...History History Hi Story... ☺️Go To Berlin...👍🏼
Such a great symbol of peace. It was an honor visiting there.
Probably the most iconic tourist centre in Berlin. Beautiful place with lots of tourist visiting it. It’s got a big space to accommodate people and it’s easy to get nice pictures or videos. Using the restroom there cost 50cents
Ofcourse the place is electrifying .. but I wasn’t enthralled. Maintenance of the monument is fantastic.. was very disappointed by the crowd around it.
I have been to Berlin few times before and never had a chance to go to BG. Really grand 👌!
The history is powerful and deep surrounding this iconic gate. Berlin: the story of a city is a great read for preparing to go and see the city of historic power. The square near the gate holds the American embassy, a star bucks, and a bunch of pickpockets, hustlers, and street performers working for a euro. The iconic buildings in the area have value in learning about prior to arrival too.
Iconic gate to photograph. Come for pictures and enjoy the specular art. Its not too far and a nice walk from other nearby attractions. There were also people blowing bubbles in the air to help you make your photos look beautiful.
One of the most important monuments in Germany
If you go to Berlin you must see the Brandenburg Gate day or night. Pariser Platz has plenty of sights of interest and places to eat and drink further along from the gate It is a really nice place to talk a walk.
Great sunset view in summer time here. Good vibes around the area get you closer to this city life.
The symbol of Berlin and a piece of history. You cannot leave Berlin without have taken a picture of it
A very impressive structureand beautiful in a central location
Historical site. Great to visit.
Amazing attraction in Berlin. We were fortunate enough to see it while the sun was setting which made it look even better.Note to others, make sure you take pictures from the correct side of the gate :DWe saw others taking pictures from the other end.
Iconic and magnificent structure. You can’t miss this when in Berlin. Full of tourists any time of the day. It symbolises the Berlin’s cold war division into east and west. This is the only surviving gate of many neoclassical gates built in 18th century. Easily accessible from any part of Berlin by S+U trains. Worth visiting and strongly recommended.
You do not require tickets to see the monument, truly beautiful!!Lots of people to be expected at the area.
This is also a must see when in Berlin, because of it’s historical meaning. Furthermore is classical architecture. Did you know, that John F Kennedy stood in front of the wall on the Brandenburger Tor side, on the west side and gave his famous speech?? That’s also something to think about when seeing this monument.
One of the most beautiful experiences in Berlin. It is a great pathway for an evening walk. Amazing lights and so strong architecture with alot of people around. A great place to make professional photoshoots. So, if you are coming by do t forget to bring your cameras and gear to capture the best out of the place. Come with your family and friends. Enjoy! There is no entry ticket. You can enjoy scooters, bikes and walks.
This gate, famous all over the world, its a must see place in Berlin. It was rebuilt lot of times and now is Imposing like it was during the past eras. From this you can reach almost every place in Berlin, by foot or by metro. One of the most famous monuments Berlin has, and the details on the architecture is quite pleasing to look at.A picture here is needed for anyone traveling to Berlin.
Touristic place in Berlin. It looks smaller in really life compare to what you can see in TV, and it should be more into the spotlight as it s an amazing construction. Mandatory stop in Berlin, especially the first time :advise : remember to look up, the details are beautiful.
Always wanted to visit. Enjoyed seeing it for myself and walking through it. Good to see it is in such good condition.Another amazing piece of history which has seen some incredible things happen over the last few centuries.
Place: 5/5Experience: 5/5Brandenburger Tor is majestic. Beautifully lit at night time, its a sight you dont want to miss.Top tip: Go downstairs to U5 underground line to have a look at some historical pictures of the gate.
The structure is greatly lighten that it just looks marvelous. However the best suprise for me was that even tho there was a lot of people, you could easly find a spot in which while taking photo you will look as if you are there alone! I think its just perfect how people respected each other desire to take pictures. The crowd was huge but as you see it does not look like that. Also it wasnt like I had to wait for my turn to take a picture, I found the place right away. The Tor is marvelous and the conditions are great so I definitely recommend!
I had an amazing time here, beautiful views and serene vicinity. If you are a photographer then you are going to have a time of your life. The best time to visit is around evenings and the area is super busy because of tourists. But still worth the hype, see the pictures 📸 for that
One of the most iconic places in Europe. Lots of history around of it and at the centre of Berlin. You can take very good pictures there and feel the vibe to go from East Berlin to the West.
I do not know why I felt so touch when I was there. The Brandenburg gate is amazing. In the metro station you can also see they put their history story there.Easy to come, bus metro etc.
Iconic gate to photograph. Come for pictures and enjoy the specular art. Its not too far and a nice walk from other nearby attractions. There were also people blowing bubbles in the air to help you make your photos look beautiful.
The world famous Brandenburg gate, living in Berlin I have visited this place on multiple occasion and it has always been a great experience. Be there t for a late night stroll or to see tulips bloom in April to celebration new year here. This magnificent gate symbolises the unity of east and West Berlin and a must visit if you are coming to Berlin.
omg! The sight of this place was so beautiful. It’s worth every minute spent. It has shopping outlets too. My phone got frozen here so I couldn’t take as much photos. Berlin was -8 on this day 😂.
It is a must-see for most tourists. Perfectly developed space around, built-up after the reunification of Germany. Important buildings around - like the Bundestag, the US Embassy etc. Its a great start or end to a walk along the Unter den Linden Passage, from where you can go to the Museum Island, Berlin Cathedral, the TV tower, the Opera House and many other important cultural sites. For drivers - there are multi-storey car parks in the streets along Unter den Linedn. There are a lot of tourists, but you dont feel too crowded, even in the high season.
Beautiful in the wintertime! I recommend taking a city walking tour if youre new to Berlin. Really a great experience and the love you can see and feel around such a historic sight is heartwarming, showing the beauty of human change
Its a nice location for clicking pictures and one of the historical monuments in Berlin. You can at night also to get some good clicks 😍. But try to visit in day time because at night that open space is freezing ❄️
You can’t afford to miss the BT when in Berlin. It just gets interesting during the sunset. Exactly that’s when the crowds flow in from all corners of the city to this iconic square.Sometimes it’s worth standing there just soaking in all the history, colors, people. In one word- Magnificent
One can feel the history around it. Especially with the Reichstag and Holocaust Memorial nearby. The embassies are also nearby to look at as well. The place is almost always busy because of the location so be ready for crowds.
Great historical place ! Lots of people around ! Berlin is a beautiful, well organized city, very friendly for the cyclists and the pedestrians. We were there with our motorcycles from Greece but we choose to walk the city...and we made the best decision..
Hands down the best monument in the city! It is a masterpiece of engineering ! There are always a lot of people in the surroundings and you can take really cool pictures! I loved it so much that I included it in my tattoo that is a tribute to this beloved city! Don’t miss it
The gate faces one of Europes most famous historic squares, Pariser Platz, with bank headquarters, the ultramodern French embassy, and the offices of the federal parliament. On the southern side, Berlins sleek Academy of Arts, integrating the ruins of its historic predecessor, and the DZ Bank, designed by star architect Frank Gehry, stand next to the new American embassy, rebuilt on its prewar location and reopened on July 4, 2008. The legendary Hotel Adlon (now the Adlon Kempinskilooks on from its historic home at the southeast edge of the square. Once the pride of Prussian Berlin and the citys premier landmark, the Brandenburger Tor was left in a desolate no-mans-land when the Wall was built. Since the Walls dismantling, the sandstone gateway has become the scene of the citys Unification Day and New Years Eve parties. This is the sole remaining gate of 14 built by Carl Langhans in 1788–91, designed as a triumphal arch for King Frederick Wilhelm II. Its virile classical style pays tribute to Athenss Acropolis.
Like it or not, this is an iconic image of Berlin. The Gate now stands alone and is usually busy with tourists. It is lit up at night although I didnt see any information boards about the structure when we walked around it.Built in the late 18th century the Gate was influenced by the Acropolis and the four horse chariot on top of it echoes Roman and Byzantine sculpture. In the Cold War the gate was a border between the Russian and British zones. Its easy to get to and well signposted although also a focus of protests - when we were there the whole area was barricaded off for most of the weekend.
