Brandberg White Lady Painting - Tourist attraction in Usakos, Namibia
Unikátní
Well-preserved rock drawings of bushmen. Unfortunately, you cannot tour alone. 40 minutes guided walk for $ 250 Namibia per person.
Not worth the effort, probably. Price is expensive (250 N$ pp, to be paid cash, no cardto see the paintings, after 2 hr walk (go and backand the paintings are not so much. As comparison, Etosha national park costs 150 pp.Walk only with guide, no self walk.Avoid hot hours.
Amazing spiritual experience, beautiful scenery, we had a great guide by the name of Ingrid who was very knowledgeable and friendly, well worth the price to see something very special
We were asked to pay NAD 250 instead of the NAD 100 that was mentioned in all guides and by our accomodation. Walk takes 2h return through a gorge. Bring enough water, sun screen and a sun hat as temperatures were beyond 35 degrees in early April.
Sehr authentische und spannende Tour!
A worthwhile visit. This old area has many stories to tell!
This is a government run tourist attraction. When you arrive you park your car, pay an entrance fee and then you walk to the painting with a guide. The walk is probably around 4 km one way on moderately difficult terrain. The walk there through the brand berg mountains was beautiful. Our guide was Patricia, who was a great guide. Definitely worth a visit when you are in the region and have 2 hours to spare.
Good to do and see!! Definitely stop here if you go to Namibia!!!
Enjoyed the short hike and checking out the paintings
5km Walk was nice! White Lady painting was faded quite a bit, but stil managed to make it out. Guide was friendly and explained well.
Was solls, wer zur weißen Dame will...
Nice expetience, even though you have to walk 1h one way to see this Single place.
The walk there is so incredible and the guide was super well informed. This is till this day one of my favorite short hikes ive done. Im absolutely coming back for the new exhibition they plan to open soon..Cant wait for the rainy season this walk will increase in wonderfulness.
Guida promossa a pieni voti.
You can only visit with a guide and have to walk around 30 minutes to get to the paintings. Go early because there is no shade on the way there. Its quite a long drive and there is nothing else to do, so I would skip this when you dont have much time on you holiday.
Human history here folks. Come and soak it up.Something like $N100 to park, guided tour.
If you have never seen drawings of our ancient ancestors on the rocks, then you should definitely go to the White Lady. Although the lady is not at all white, and probably not the lady...
Nice walk to reach beautiful paintings on the rock
It is a place you have to visit, if you have a chance. The ancient art is overwhelming beautiful.
The paintings are very nice, you need a guided tour (about 50 min hiketo there. Our guide was very nice and added allot to the experience. Its a good experience, but not breathtaking in my opinion. Pretty much the only thing to do in that area.
We visited the White Lady painting in August - access costs 100N$ and it includes the guide that is mandatory to visit the sight. On the walk of approx. 30 min one way the guide explained some facts about Brandberg mountains, the nature and the animals that live around. At the end of the walk we saw the paintings and had extensive explanations about what they are showing and the later history.
Beautiful nature and nice walk.
Beautiful and well preserved paintings. The hike to the site is nice and fairly easy to do. The (mandatorylocal guides have a lot of knowledge about the plants and animals you encounter on the way. If youre lucky you might see lions (there are eight of them in the areaand desert elephants. You will see what an elephant does to a tree if its hungry.
Interesting story about the "white lady" painting. About an hour trek. Not worth if it is out of your way. But worth if you have time to spare as it is quite unique.
Great rock paintings. Continue on and youll find some pretty good ones of giraffes and ostriches as well.
Nice rock painting to be seen! The hike is quite pleasant too. It needs the presence of a local guide.
