Beautiful house and grounds, we initially visited Lyme Park but that house is closed on Wednesdays, so we googled for nearby places of interest and found this gem which is only 5 or 6 miles from Lyme Park. Well visit Lyme Park next week.

A lovely place to relive the past and really feel what it high society Tudor living was like. The lack of toilets for the family whole the servants have their own speaks volumes...

Lovely place if you want a nice day out. We went on a Friday in the school summer holidays and it wasnt too busy. I paid the fee to go round the house (£6 for adults, £5 for students, children entry is freebut I paid for the bear trail activity thats running at the moment which was £3 each). The kids get a trail sheet to follow and they can learn info about bears and the house as they go round, there were craft activities to do too along the way, and when they managed to find the last bear and unscramble the word they got a badge each. The Hall is stunning, lots of culture for adults and children and very knowledgeable staff on hand too. Theres a cafe and you can eat inside or out but we took a picnic and sat on one of the benches overlooking the river. The park/play area is cute and for up to aged 8 years old, not massive but enough to keep them entertained. Parking is limited though there are 2 car parks with limited spaces but we parked on the road free of charge and walked to the park end which was a couple of mins away.

11/12/2019: Bramall Hall - Carols by Renaissance - Christmas 2019. An annual event in the Great Hall, not to be missed. A mixed repertoire of sacred, secular and Christmas classics. A ticketed event, which includes a glass of mulled wine, mince pie and the Hall decked out for Christmas. Bramall Hall is a timber-framed Tudor Manor House, dating back to the Middle Ages. Within, contains 16th Century wall paintings, Elizabethan plaster ceilings, kitchens and a Servants Quarter. It stands in 70 acres of parkland, designed in a Victorian romantic style.

Had such a lovely time here. Its so more accessible than a museum. You are so close to everything and can touch so much. Its also child friendly. They offered all the children tool belts with binoculars, a magnifying glass and a flashlight. Their faces lit up.They got to run around and really explore. The servants quarters remind me of the servants quarters in Downton Abbey

Visited Bramhall Hall on Wednesday 6thApril with our two grandchildren 6 and 2.10 months.Great afternoon out ,friendly and helpful welcome when we arrived .Well presented guide sheets for what to look out for as well as touch screens in the rooms.Added bonus of the Easter trail for our elder grandchild looking for Easter egg clues as we walked round plus a massive easter bunny in the dinning room!Chance to put on costumes in the banqueting room!So plenty for the children to enjoy but also for all of us to appreciate the beauty of the rooms and the exhibits and capture a sense of the social history of this lovely building. Thanks so much for a great visit which was also very good value with children going free and adult prices very reasonable.

Beautiful place lovely house set within lovely grounds.Parking is very limited unfortunatelyThe cafe serves lovely food with friendly staff but is on the small side. This is a very popular place for people to visit so parking is a major issue, an early start or midweek visit when not as busy probably better.

Bramhall Hall is beautiful. I loved singing with the Renaissance choir round the tree outside. The weather kept fine but cold, the audience was amazing and the singing was fabulous.

Went for a family walk and socially distanced chat with granddaughters in the autumnal surroundings of the Hall. All the facilities were available and clean, and the cafe was doing a roaring trade in hot chocolate. Lovely to be there and see the trees changing colours, before all the leaves fall. Easy parking and no crowding.

A delightful park , with a winding path from the main gate up to the 12th century Jacobean hall. Plenty of areas to picnic either overlooking the lake, which has numerous ducks and geese or a visit to the cafe is ideal also there is a playground for families with children.

Lovely park with ponds, ducks and river flowing through. Concrete main path but with dirt tracks good to explore. Food in gift shop to feed ducks.I visited the Hall itself. £5 adults and £3.50 concessions and over 60s. Fantastic building with interactive computer screens in a lot of the rooms. Lots of steep stairs so need to be able bodied and mobile. There is a lift and helpful staff on hand.Children can do a dragon hunt around the rooms since some still live at the Hall but are somewhat shy. The Hall is well worth a visit inside and a guided tour is £2 if wanted.Outside there is a cafe and a childrens play area. Dogs are allowed off lead in the park.Lots of seating around the gardens to pass peaceful time, which is just what I did.Recommended for families, history buffs, dogs and anyone who wants to absorb the quiet beauty of a lovely place.

The parts of the hall open to the public are not that extensive, but still worth a visit. There was a special event on with historic characters in costume which made it very interesting.

Very grand old Tudor Manor House, interesting information available as you walk around and an amazing ceiling to be found on the first floor. The grounds include a lake and woodlands so is also a great place for an afternoon stroll. The cafe has nice food and fresh clean decor. If you enjoy English heritage I would highly recommend Bramall Hall as a place to visit.Sat Nav wasnt great at finding it so need to look out for the tourist information sign when youre close.

Like most of the other reviewers we hadnt actually planned to go to Bramall Hall, but we was in the area and thought we would take a look.Parking is available on site, although Id imagine on hot holiday days this would be rammed, £2 for 3 hours for £3 for all day. (Can do shorter, just cant remember the cost!)The park is nice, there is a small kids playground at top and then various paths to the bottom where the lakes are, some of the paths also head into the woodland - all of which was great with two small people, and it looks like you could easily extend the walk into other nearby areas if you are more inclined to.At the top, close to car park is the hall itself, the visitor centre (where you buy the tickets to go into the halland the cafe. Cafe prices are what you would expect, hall admission is £5 for an adult which is reasonable. Hall is a nice wander with plenty of rooms, there are various screens dotted about for info. All in all, a nice stop off - we was pleasantly surprised!

A delightful surprise, I had not originally planned to go here, but as a fan of Tudor architecture there really is no better example. The house and grounds are gorgeous, and the Cafe is nice as well. The house is incredibly well preserved and some parts, like the plaster ceiling and the wall paintings in the solar, were better than anything Ive seen from that time period.

Nice place to visit, it takes around 40 min/1 hour to go around all the rooms. Such a great historical hall and chapel. It makes you step back in the past. Price: only 5 euros per person, children free of charge.

I was at Bramhall Hall photographing a wedding, so wanted to share a review from that perspective. The team there were great to work with on the day - especially Heidi. She was really attentive to the couple all day & easy to get hold of which is always helpful. The park area around Bramhall Hall is great for couple portraits - but if the weather is not good the interior has loads to offer. A really nice touch was Heidi mentioning the light upstairs so that I could do couple portraits in the main hall - the sun sets in front of the hall so it gives a dramatic effect with the light coming in through the windows & reflecting on the walls. I’ve attached photos - this would be a great option if the weather was wet. This space is large enough for family group photos too.A tip for the carpark: There’s a sign next to the payment machine that says the park is locked at 6:30pm - this is not the case on wedding days so if you are a guest at a wedding you will be fine to park in the large carpark - the staff lock up when they leave. There was a spare meal so I got to try the full 3 course wedding meal - it was classic tomato & basil soup starter, chicken with potatoes & sticky toffee pudding. All really tasty - the tiny potatoes with the chicken were delish!

A truly stunning 14th century house with amazing grounds and woodland near Stockport. There is a gift shop and cafe that is reasonably priced, a play area for the kids. Parking is cheap compared to other attractions, the only complaint I have is that its not very well signposted.

I love the beauty and feel of this place, like stepping back in time. I only feel it could do with spicing up the presentation of its exhibits as its a bit dry compared to other places with less interesting subject matter. Photo is from the reopening event.
