Fantastic looking bridge crossing the river Boyne, built in 1855 and reconstructed in 1930-1932. Standing over 100 metres high with amazing views over Drogheda and surrounding countryside.

The boyne viaduct Is a super structure carrying the main rail line between Dublin and Belfast beautiful to view from DROGHEDA TOWN center
MoreI love this bridge, its always been part of my life. Growing up in Drogheda, Ireland has always been in sight. It was a focal point at the maritime festival over the weekend.Great entertainment. A big thank you to all the organisers.
MoreBeautiful piece of history. But only viewable from a distance as area beneath is inaccessible to the public, which is a shame. There is the splendid old Ship Street nearby as well - Oldest surviving street in Ireland. A nice bench has been installed recently to relax on after "the stairs" (youll know all about then if you come by trainand offers a beautiful Vista of the length and breadth of the River Boyne.
MoreGreat landmark.
When it was built it was the second biggest in the world
Really nice bridge an engineering masterpiece even by todays standard
Beautiful, historical landmark ....Amazing photos all over the Internet of sunsets and sunrises
MoreBuilt in 1855 and an engineering marvel of its time, upgraded in 1939 to the current configuration where central span was modified to a Parker Truss from a Pratt Truss, still impressive to this day as an engineering feat, and if your interested in engineering history, then this is a treat! It was engineered by an Irish engineer John McNeil, who studied under Telford. Also worth visiting is the Egyptian Arch in Newry that this engineer designed.
MoreMaritime festival:)
Huge big railway bridge that makes Drogheda stand out.I was scared crossing it on the train
MoreLovely walk way and very picturesque
