Botanical Garden and Zoo of Asunción in Belen

A nice big garden, beautiful trees, many wonderful birds, peaceful and quite. Friendly goats, private parking place, we even saw a piece of jungle with monkeys! A passer-by said to us, it was not safe to walk there, but we havent seen anybody, except little monkeys. A playground is not very impressive, but the monkeys and enough place to walk and look compensated it.

Por donde uno mire, todo es verde! Le hace honor al nombre, es un enoooooorme jardín. Eso sí, vayan con protector solar y repelente para insectos y mosquitos, sin importar la época del año en que uno lea esto!

For a park in in the countrys capital, a little bit sad. Zoo was closed for unknown reasons. Still worth a visit.Large green areas give enough space for photo shoots and picnics.

Un espacio verde de relevancia sobre la vida vegetal y la educación ambiental como así la interpretación de la fauna .. *solo que habría que ocuparse más por su limpieza y conservación* se ve muy empobrecido.. dejado a meno.. se está perdiendo un patrimonio natural y cultural de importancia única..!

Theres a lot more potential to this beautiful place but still a great place to visit!

Good place to spend time with family or friends. Lacks amenties and signage (one can get lost easy). I went biking with some friends and found nice trails.

There arent really any botanical gardens, its just a zoo with beautiful animals crammed into waaay to small cages. I was heartbroken, this should be illegal!

Overall I enjoyed the experience...but they need more directional signs and more animal description signs. I also wish they would put some effort into fixing the walking paths to make them even and continuous. A lot of people bring their young children and strollers when they go to an outdoor place like a zoo and they shouldnt have to struggle pushing it when this is a place you pay to get into. So they need to put some effort and money toward maintaining their grounds, especially near the tigers and birds. That was a quite annoying. Also, bring some pocket change and some soap since they charge you to use the bathroom but dont provide soap to wash you hands, just a tip. Other than that, this zoo was OK.

This is a clean and open park that is a lot of fun to go on cool days. You’ll find kids playing, families picnicking, and some cool wildlife.

If youre in Asuncion, make the time to get to the botanical garden and zoo. You can take the number 13 bus to get there.Its a big place so be prepared to walk a lot. Its a nice place for a picnic, just make sure to bring something against mosquitoes.Theres a natural museum inside with plenty of stuffed and preserved animals.The garden is free but youll have to pay 2$ to enter the zoo by foot (and pay extra if by car). Its a small zoo and theres not a lot of things to see or do there, but still its a nice walk. Plenty of vendors with food, drinks it trinkets made by the locals.
