Borge in Middlesbrough

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, we were a party of 16 and although meals ordered were different they were all served at the same time, well done Borges.

Wow the fillet steak is probably one of the best around, the meal sizes and everything is top quality here. The staff are really polite and they actually talk on a good level and actually have a conversation. In regards to who I think may have been the owner what a person he is, goes around the tables and has a good conversation too and makes you feel very welcomed etc. This place deserves more than a 5*, I would recommend to everyone. The only problem I had was parking its in that sort of location where parking was a nightmare and my mam is disabled so having to park a little away and have her get to the restaurant was the only issue but how can I mark them down when to be honest this isnt their fault and everything on the inside is perfect from service, food and the price!

Beautiful food and good atmosphere although to make it a 5 star maybe a little more customer service***UPDATE*** from 4 star to 5 Star because as I said in my review first time maybe a little more customer service to make it 5 star and they have definitely done that 🙂

Lovely food lovely place very friendly staff

I went to Borge last night with 4 of my friends, from a friends recommendation. I could not rate this place higher. Firstly the atmosphere was perfect, despite it tightly packed in, there wasnt an abundance of loud people or too much background noise to distract from our own conversation, the music was modern and fun. But quiet enough, to again not distract.The service was wonderful, extremely quick and attentive, but didnt do an annoying amount of check backs, as I have worked in service, and these can be forced upon you. But they only came over when necessary, and were very polite, helpful and extremely efficient. Also the owner was around and delivering friendly and helpful table service, and he was a bubbly fun character, but again, didnt try to be the main character and come over too often. Fabulous.And the food. The food was next level. I knew it was famous for its parmos. But 4 out 5 of us got a different pasta dish, and every single one of us, left saying it was the best pasta wed ever had. It was well presented, delicious and arrived so quickly from the order. The garlic bread starter was among the best Ive had anywhere too.All in all, one of the best places Ive eaten. And I will be coming back. 6/5 if I could. And the value for money felt almost like I was performing robbery. Outstanding.

Was really terrible, food tasted like they just poured a salt cellar on our Parmesan, got a spare rib starter, it looked like they poured a bottle Asda smart price bbq sauce over them NEVER AGAIN

First time eating here. It came highly recommended from my partner whose had a get girly nights here. I had a sirloin steak medium rare witch was perfectly cooked and complimented with triple cooked chips and salad. She went for a chicken parmesan witch was phenomenal. I would highly reccomend. Great food and exceptional value for money

Borge is a restaurant I have been going to for years now... there is a reason why they have won so many awards for their parmos! They are immense. Now I am sure their other dishes are absolutely gorgeous too! But I have to admin I have only ever had a Parmesan when coming to Borge as it is my favourite place to have one. The atmosphere is nice with very friendly staff and parking is free just round the corner. Prices are to be honest fine and as expected really for nice food. I have never tried their desserts as I am always stuffed when I finish my main meal. Their starters are nice... having tried the pate and the potato skins I would quite happily have these again! Would highly recommend and I will be going back soon!

Service was great and good price but food not great. Calzone didnt really taste of anything and pasta was way too saucy.

One of my favourite places to eat in. Love the food. Theyre happy to replace if youre not happy with your order and the service is quick. Ive been going every year for my birthday for over 10 years.

First time visit with my repeating customer girlfriend. I was thoroughly impressed with Borges staff, service and food. I can see why they have been awarded best parmos, it was fantastic and my partner was able to bring her left over half home after. Very good value for money, brilliant service, prompt and fast, friendly, fresh and tasy food. Chicken still moist, thick sauce, beautiful home made food.

Have never had a bad meal here, literally anything you pick from the menu will be great. Fantastic parmos, best in Stockton!! Fash is amazing and knows his customers so well, always there to say hello etc and makes sure you are well looked after.

Great restaurant, myself and the wife both ordered parmo and to be honest borges parmos a mile better than alfornos. I would recommend borge to anyone.

Fabulous food, huge and tasty portions, friendly staff, only downside is not w/chair friendly. No disabled toilet etc.

I sometimes order to collect my food. Tonight when i ordered, the girl who I spoke to on the phone was quite rude, unhelpful and I felt rushed on the phone. (Sunday 23rd JanWhen I came to collect my food, a member of staff acknowledged and greeted me straight away. Whilst I was waiting for my food being brought out, I couldnt help but notice some of the staff members faces whilst serving other guests. They looked like they didnt want to be there. Maybe they were just having a bad evening. However I can not, knock the food, it was and is always absolutely spot on! It is consistently good whatever you choose to eat, whether eating in or taking out. Shame they didnt deliver they would make a fortune!

Great selection of Italian dishes at very affordable prices. The owner Fash and his staff are the friendliest bunch you could wish to meet. The kitchen / oven is open so you can see food being prepared. A good sign is that it is regularly busy, it is best to book for weekends but mid week you can usually be accommodated if you walk in. Highly recommended.Update: still the best eatery in Stockton by far !I believe I heard a few weeks back that theyd just won the annual parmo championship too.

Fantastic Italian restaurant, just like I remember from years ago. Great food at proper prices.Family friendly with a great atmosphere. Everything run like clockwork as the boss had his eye on the whole operation and it really made a difference. Highly recommended 🙂

Great evening, well looked after by the friendly staff, obviously a delicious parmo too !

I had a lovely meal during happy hour. The place had a roaring fire and was packed with families, friends and couples all having a pleasant meal downstairs while an event went on upstairs. There were good portion sizes of lovely fresh cooked food with efficient friendly service. I heard it has won the Parmo competition again. Go visit it to see for yourself how good it is.

So disappointed! I dont have a single good thing to say about this place. So over crowded, we could barely sit down without bumping into the people on the table behind us. The tables and chairs were constantly being moved around during our visit, lifting chairs over our heads we were continuously being bumped into as there was just no space. The staff seemed as though they didnt want to be there, it was a nightmare to get their attention to orders drinks, food and even to pay! The garlic bread was disgusting, tasted like batter from the fish shop. The pizzas were very disappointing. 3 of us ordered parmos (award winning apparentlythese were clearly just reheated and not well because all 3 came out cold. Everything was covered in grease, not just the food but the bottoms of the plates and the sauce dishes to. It was just an all round awful experience.

Borges what could I say? It is normally always amazing food. There was a party of 15 of us and we were seated upstairs. Greeted perfectly and drinks ordered and then we ordered starters and mains. Starters were spot on. Amazing tastes. Unfortunately one of the little girls in our party was sick and the staff had little consideration for the little girl in question. They just wanted to put the food down on the table or on the bar near the table and let it go cold. There was no we will hold it and reheat it for you they did help clean up the mess. After that part of our party had left so the rest of us got the mains everyones mains. Perfect clean plates. A few of us had desserts and all were great, unfortunately I didnt get what I ordered. I had ordered a sticky toffee sponge pudding and what they actually tried to give me was a golden syrup sponge cake not thinking I would know the difference. But upon bringing our issues up with the manger, he was very apologetic and did also give us a bottle of wine to make up for it. To summarize I would still recommend borge the food was great and always good value for money with the portion sizes. It was clean and tidy. The food was served quickly and it was tasty. On the other hand the staff could have shown some more empathy.

I tried to book the function room on the evening of 29th October and whoever was on the phone was extremely rude to my mother. On the first phone call when I rang to enquire and mentioned I had tried to contact through their messenger service and website contact form to no response I was told “it depends who is in the office”, no apology having had no response for a few weeks.We were later told abruptly that they were “scribbling us out of the book” when saying we were looking for 50 guests instead of 70 (which was not mentioned previously to myself as the girl rudely told my mother that she had (she hadn’tand also despite the website stating 50 guests can be catered for on a particular buffet option which we would have been happy to pay for). Maybe update your website then?Perhaps more effort needs to be put into customer service and communication as we are certainly not going to choose this venue now. Really disappointed as we had heard good things about them prior to this and having attended many work Christmas nights were there were less than the “70 people”.Working in psychological & mental health services (& previously in retailI am always mindful of the way I speak to others which means I always talk politely, perhaps the girl was having a bad night? Otherwise simply unhelpful and rude customer service.

Absolutely amazing I cant say anything bad about it me and my GF both got Parmos came with home made chips, garlic and coleslaw my daughter got chicken nuggets and fries and she loved shes 2yrs old and then I got Borges delight Ice-cream and pepsi Max for our drinks and fruit shoot for my daughter

Friendly staff , food was lovely . Chicken parmos was spot on ! Good value and didnt wait long for food. We were a party of 17 and waited approx 30 mins . Would recommend to all . Would give a 5 stars but we had to get up and go to the bar for drinks orders as nobody asked if we wanted any at the table and it was freezing sat under air con

Have been going here for 30+ years. Probably go twice a year. Always friendly staff, the boss always very friendly and helpful. Food always excellent for the price, and the freshly made (can watch the chefsgarlic bread / tomato garlic bread is the best Ive ever had anywhere. Worth going just to try this.Went there August 8th for our tea. Had fajitas, my son had pizza and of course we had 2 garlic breads to share. Very nice place.

Based on the meal I ordered, The chicken fajita meal, can say it was delicious, the chips are more of a wedge style but I liked them, where as my wife was not so keen on them.We have been to Borges many times now so can say it has been a lovely and will return again.It was extremely busy, but the food arrived fast. Another happy visit, Thank you to Borges and the staff.
