Book Kyung Ban Jeoun & BK Karaoke - Karaoke bar in Vancouver, Canada
This is the place to go if you want a feast. Great food, plentiful, huge portions. Yummy!
I think jajangmyeon was a bit sweet ! Im satisfied with jjamppong and sweet and sour pork :And karaoke was good too ! But when I paid, the male staff who looked like 40s was so unkind that I wondered if he was mad at us🤷♀️
Tasted like pure MSG jjambbong soup with grumpy server, I am sure they have a new owner, sorry I wont go back again.
Some people can sing here,But some people just cnt .
Great food and fast service!
I went back recently and the quality of the food is good again. The only reason why Im not giving it five stars is because Jjam pong no longer has mussels in it. Other than that is a good place.
Not the best place to karaoke. I went there with my family for karaoke and a lot of popular American songs we picked would stop half way. Wouldnt recommend karaoking here.
Staff was very rude. One of my friends forgot her ID at home and they told us the whole table could not order alcohol. I didn’t know they want to ruin everyone’s experience just cause one guest forgot their ID.
Food was good and I think it was fairly priced. I had a fun time. I wasnt impressed with staff though. I found them rude and a bit lazy. I had to leave groups session early, so I wanted to pay for my meal and a portion of the time. The guy immediately said, without letting me finish my explanation, "No, thats too complicated." It wasnt busy, Ive been to busy restaurants who put in the time. Another guy said, "Youre blocking the door" to my cousin as she is literally walking away from the door to give him room. They werent professional at all.
You can find great Korean food here. The black noodles and the red soup is amazing. The fried pork and chicken is very delicious. The staff are very nice and friendly and the service is fast and good. The environment could be a bit better though.
Tastes okay, but very disappointed that they marked up their Buy One, Get One Free product so youre pretty much paying the price.Their Seafood Ja Jang Myun is $18 (and their usual non JJM is typically much less), but they made their regular plain one $19 with BOGO. Its how dishonest they are that makes me not want to order from them again.
Staff is kind of rude, food taste differently every time, probably depends on their mood.
Good flavour and quite authentic tasting. I’d go back.
Went here for lunch on a Monday. Although I didnt try out their karaoke rooms, the food was out of this world. I had a spicy seafood soup with rice, and hit the spot on a cool rainy day, and my partner had the egg soup, which was rich and delicious. Left very full. No skimping on ingredients here.
Came in to see what the restaurant was about and the lady had a attitude I’m pretty sure they’re racist and do not like to serve black pekoe. She was rude to me but nice to the Korean Man and this was our first time in the restaurant. I wanted fried rice and chicken wings she was rude the whole time. I was told that chicken wings had to be placed into he other side and when i went over there i was told they’re out of chicken wings. Never coming back. If i could give 0 i would!
Remote is difficult to control and input, which takes away from the karaoke time limit. With great friends and their great k-food, youll have a fantastic time nonetheless!
This place is great. We got the Combo 1, with black bean noodles, spicy seafood noodle soup,, and the sweet sour pork. We got our meal in less than 10 minutes (even though they were busyand the servers were very nice and approachable.
We were a group of 9. So I get that serving a large table is hard. So happy with the service we recieved all things considered. The food was not great. Lots of fried things. Like everything was fried, or noodles. So we ordered a bunch of things for the table. The flavors got old quickly with everything being cooked in the same frying batter. We had some noodle dishes as well, they were all very soupy. Would have liked more noodle and less sauce.I would have liked to see more variety on the menu. And the dishes could be refined a little. After dinner my stomach was not agreeing with anything on the table I ate.... I paid the price ...Probably wont return.
Food was good but server was terribleIf you cant find good server you should do only delivery or take out otherwise you will lost customer
actually food was not bad , however they put tip automatically even though the service is not good at all. I usually have good tip because I do understand how they are busy. I do think I wont visit here again.
Taste is very very awful..!!! Iike a doggy foodCooking quality is very low and too much MSG…and not crispy tangsooyuk…I think chief is beginner?I don’t want visit again….
Food was pretty good but a little overpriced. They have a very small selection of alcoholic beverages and no tea or coffee which we thought was weird....
Dropped in for a quick bite. We had the tang Soo yuk and the spicy jajang black bean noodles. The noodles were unexpectedly spicier then we anticipated, but thats fine as we like spicy food. Other than that it wasnt special. The tang Soo yuk was fantastic though! That sauce... Ive tried other tang Soo yuk but this one is the top 3. Would gladly go back for that dish specifically. We are dinner relatively early so the restaurant wasnt too busy so the service was good.
Went in for Karaoke last night. The service was decent but its a bit pricey for how bad the sound quality is ($50/hr on a Saturday night). When you sing, the speaker makes the static-y noise and its a bit annoying, but you kinda get used to it later. Overall just ok experience, but I wouldnt come back for karaoke again unless its the only option available.
Customer service is the worstI will not come to here again..I was uncomfortable with the service and food. I used to ordered the same menu a lot. But seafood and meat quality was not good and I couldn’t eat so I complained about it. I know that the quality can not always be the same. After that, one of the server was so impolite and he made me furious about everything. At least he had to be sorry but he didn’t. And he didn’t say anything after taking away my food. He doesn’t deserve to get the tips. I will not come again..never
Bad service, bad food.I have been visited this place almost for 3 years. I liked this place. But today, i had really bad experience. The food was so bad like smells bad from squid and the meat is too hard to chew. So i complained to server who was a big Korean guy. He seems to be offended that i made reasonable complain and asked me like “Actually we use bad meat. So what you want?”His customer service was terrible. It makes me feel bad as well. I spent 20 bucks for one meal. It’s quite pricey but only thing i got is bad mood for my money. And also, he never say sorry or good bye until we left. I will never ever visit this place again.
Restaurante and karaoke together!! Great combination for having a lot of fun. The black noodles are 🔝
The combo with the three dishes is a good amount for 3. Jajangmyeon sauce was on the sweeter side. The tangsuyuk was pretty decent as well, it was was crisp and had the sauce on the side. Service could’ve been better, as the waiters didn’t give many check ups at all.
Ordered uberea from the reztaurant. Definitely its well packed with the 2 level to-go box. The Ja jang noodle is pretty authentic. The sauce is separated from the noodle so i was able to taste the fresh noodles even after the delivery wait time.
Love this place where you can enjoy Korean style Chinese food with a generous portion. But one thing I didnt like was that their black noodle sauce was too """sweet""" to eat. I mean that the sweetness doesnt seem to come from onions so it tastes kind of artificial not natural. Eating too much artificial sugar ruins our guts and overall health.
I guess Book kyung is pretty good. Of course the food should be delicious and alsoevery time when I visit this place, I got good service from the servers who were really kind.
The worst Tangsuyuk. Most of Tangsuyuk was like this . Its really disappointing.8
Good food and good service.
Friendly service. My dish was tasty but I find most dishes were expensive and trying to maintain Robson Street pricing when this block had closed businesses and restaurants would be difficult. Regular sized share dishes some of them starting at 21 dollars and in the low 30s for large. The ambience had a mix in decorative style, it was like they kept what the restaurant was before and then threw in some Korean touches. The place is large with a karaoke bar on one side, and it was fairly busy over the lunch period.
Soo yummy. Korean style Chinese food. Jjajangmein is a fave there but I actually even like their seafood fried rice with the jjajang sauce. It comes with a side of jambon the spicy seafood soup. The cream shrimp dish is good and sweet.
Friendly service & good portion. Their regular menu is a bit confusing for people who don’t know much about korean food. I’ve had korean food before so I’m familiar; my friends hadn’t so it was confusing for them.Music is a tad bit too loud.Overall, we enjoyed our sweet crispy chicken!
Amazing service and food! Side dishes are good and refillable as well!Karaoke room is your typical Korean karaoke style! Fun times!Edit: came here for some korean takeaway during the covid-19 period and impressed by the packaging! Liquids were wrapped with plastic wrap to prevent spillage and even black bean sauce was packaged separately from the rice. Side dishes were also well proportioned.Food was as usual, flavourful!
Came here with my friend after a long day at work. She recommended me to try this jajjangmyeon dish. This tasted very good. I’m totally in love with this. The staffs are friendly and are always ready to help. Surely will come back another time and try other foods too.
It’s such a good restaurant. Price is also good. We shared some dishes. We enjoyed having lunch.
Had a table for 8 with a 15% auto gratuity added. I wouldnt ever complain about a party group gratuity but the service was absolutely terrible. They messed up our order and then argued with us about it. They also wouldnt clear away the empty plates when a new dish was coming to the table. They made us pick up the empty plates when there wasnt enough space for a new dish and then walk away without collecting the empty plates so we were left with a platters in our hands and nowhere to put it. We would have been better off running our own food from the kitchen. The food was fine.
Korean style Chinese foods are pretty good here :)! I like 깐풍기 (spicy sweet&sour chicken? I forgot the name in Englishand 짜장면 ( the black sauce with noodle)!! YUMMY😍
Reliable, good korean style Chinese food. Somewhat inconsistent. Rarely bad, but at times, really good.
Nice place to eat Korean style Chinese food.It was not too busy even though it was weekend, and food came quick and tasted real good.I personally like their lunch menu as they serve ton amount of food with reasonable price (only on weekdays I think).Four stars because one of the server was really not welcoming and had negative vibe.
Nice staff and service, love Korean Chinese jajangmyeon
Started with a wait. They told us 20 minutes and it took just over 30. Totally fine on a Friday night.Clean restaurant in front of the house . Food arrived on a timely manner. The food was alright. Service was at a good speed. Kimchi portion was small. Staff were friendly. Pricing was okay. Would re visit but wouldn’t call this place a must go
Affordable Korean food...BK spl chicken was good...Should try Lunch spl $11+
I packed the large size tangsooyuk(탕수육, deep fried pork). It was $25.20 including tax. I even waited more than 30 minutes to get the food. The most pissing part is the amount of the food. With this much money and with this time and effort I have put into, I would rather go to a different restaurant. I cant believe that this much is worth more than 20 bucks. I think I would never go this place again.
Interesting little Korean restaurant and karaoke bar. I stumbled upon this place for lunch one day and was impressed. The lunch set combos are 10.99 and include a ton of food. A couple deep-fried gyoza, pickled turnips, a main dish and a couple side dishes. Great deal here. The regular menu was a little pricier, and there were many pages of things to order. Everything we had was tasty and very slightly spicy. The waitress was helpful in letting us know what sauces went together, and what was in each dish.I cant speak to the late night karaoke and drinks atmosphere. Im sure thats the real draw of this place.
Solid Korean Chinese cuisine. Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.
The "Korean Midnight snack" noodles were really tasty. This is the first time Ive had Korean food and I liked it. It wasnt really spicy nor too sweet. The karaoke room has lots of songs new and old, Korean and English.Overall my stay with my friends was fantastic.
