Bonzai Japanese Grill in Riyadh

Elwin was great 😊 taken us to the table and surving us with a big smile thank you so much ,,The food as usual great taste I enjoyed it.

The beef items to grill are great and well selected cuts with just enough amount of seasoning/marinade which doesn’t dilute the flavor of the meat ! And this is the real experience in the place. Fried rice is fantastic and sushi is good, but interest becomes less on the appetizer and other plates.

Visited the place twice in a day (Lunch & then Dinner). 1st visit, the Ramen soup was okay but it was so sour during the evening. Luckily, theyve fixed the issue free of charge.

Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Love the bulgogi meat

This Bonzai japanese restaurant is fantastic! With superb service. Mr Sony and team were friendly and food were delivered quickly on our table. What i love about is their unique grill experienced-yes! You can enjoy eating your meat fresh from fire. Order the beef tenderloin gyu and yakisoba. A must to visit place in Riyadh.

Tastes like good gas stations sushi, yet you pay the price of actual good sushi. I do not recommend

Great food and service by the waiters especially Mr. Michael. However unfortunately, as we came on a Friday evening, we found the music played are way too loud, hence we asked to reduce the volume which was done initially and we were happy with; then moments later the music was blasted again and we were told the the “owner” and “restaurant manager” don’t want the music turned down. I explained clearly to the restaurant manager how good the food was, but that this would be the last time for me at the restaurant as I felt that my request of lowering (and I meant lowering not shutting off!the music wasn’t respected.

Great Japanese Grill! You can taste the freshness and the quality of the ingredients in the food! Great variety of options from the grill, salads, sushi, ramen and noodles. Recommended for everything, and the have a killer fried rice!

The best Japanese restaurant in the city. Excellent quality- price ratio. Fresh high quality food, you feel in Japan, really. The sushi’s and sashimi plates are inescapable. The grill meat is so tender and if you want chicken, eat the crusted cooked cheese. Parking is easy. So I recommend you this delicious restaurant and sure they will see me back soon.

Quality of the meat is great.Garlic noodles 💯Sushi rolls 💯Prices are too high for the amount of serving.Im giving 2 stars because of the unprofessionalism we had experience from our server. We ordered the chicken garlic cheese but he said that it was not available so we ordered beef instead. When we paid the bill, i just noticed that they still included the chicken on the receipt so we asked about it. The chef came telling us that the server told him that the chicken has the same price with the beef alternative that we ordered. I said that they should have informed us ahead so we didnt get confused and that they should not assume that we would understand it that away.Not worth coming back

Its a very cozy Japanese restaurant 🎐i really enjoyed their food & service 😋.. also their prices are very good compared to others . Totally recommend it 👌

Well this is my second Bonzai. I was at the one in dhran which was great for the shrimp Japanese rice but a disappointment on the sushi rolls. However at Riyadh upon hearing this they gave me a free sushi roll to correct that experience. They have us a roll for free ! This is great service and thanks to Micheal for the initiative As two of us ate for 120 riyals this makes great value and the five star is for the excellent service. Highly recommended

Very high quality of salmon, it literally melts in your mouth. I would die for something like this. Totally recommend both dishes. I am excited to come back and try the bbq.

I cant say enough good things about this restaurant. Its so underrated. My favorite dishes are:- Crab and salmon skin salad- Angus yaki ramen- the entire BBQ menu (the meat is top notch)- Salmon sashimiTheir sushi is fresh and delicious. Honestly everything on their menu is good and I cannot recommend them enough.

Very pleasant staff, helpful and recommended dishes which were very good.As other reviewers have mentioned, dont go if you are expecting large dishes though. Portions are adequate, if a little on the small side.The food we had was very tasty and to be able to grill on the table in front at us was a fun bonus.There was a table of Japanese business men eating there too, always a good sign!The executive chef, on our way out, greeted us personally and gave us his card and told us about his you tube channel where he teaches how to cook Japanese food.Price wise, it wasnt as expensive as I thought it might be, but still not at the cheap end!The only other drawback that we felt was distracting was the techno-music playing. There was maybe a better choice out there?All in all, a very nice meal out for 2 with a shared starter and main dish each with a couple of sides and drinks for 320 SAR.Recommend it for those looking for a different dining experience.

Friends are difficult to find. We always finds way to celebrate and make everyone happy. Its our first time to visit Bonzai. We want to try something new. I made a reservation for 4 @430 in the afternoon. Ramesh is the one who answered my call. Confirmed 430 pm for 4 Sept 5, 2021. Request: Date Cake written Happy Birthday Ram, surprise after meal.@restaurant: The host check temperature and Tawakkalna as policy wherein everywhere you go its a must. Bonzai has a wide variety of Menu. We took the Bonzai Grilled Set Menu and we ordered additional appetizer, salad, makis and main and of course some drinks. The dishes that stand out on my taste buds was the Miso Soup, Crab Salad, Salmon Tacos, Prawn Gyoza, the other dishes was average. For the Ramen, i suggests need to check how really Ramen dishes prepared. The saddest part was they forgot our request. They put the name of the restaurant Bonzai on the dessert plate not my request.

Overall experience was great though there’s a mishap in our celebration. First of all, the food was delicious and tasty except for the dessert(a Bit or disappointing. The ambience is cosy And Lightings liked it. My favourites are miso soup and popcorn shrimp as well as Salmon tacos. Dates cake is hard. They forgot about our birthday surprise celebration which we book prior to our arrival which ruined our overall experience. Still coming back hoping for improvements. The lady in the reception was sweet enough to sing a happy birthday for our frind☺👍🖐

The place is nice but we were lucky to find it empty, it’s small.The signature sushi was so good, the steak was great and the whole grill experience was fun. The noodles with chicken and garlic was so thick and honestly we didn’t like it because the dried garlic was clear.Prices are expensive.Lovely staff.

Enjoyed grilling, Great food and experience with the grills, one of the very few places in Riyadh that offer this experience. A grill at each table for you to cook your own food is amazing. The tenderloin and garlic prawn are amazing 👏 but Small food portions. The noodles we ordered is delicious also. Ambience is good, service is good.Staffs are nice and friendly. Highly recommended.

I was searching for Korean BBQ and accidentally found this restaurant. Judging from its location, I wasnt holding high expectation at all that the restaurant could serve good BBQ.And I was quite right, the grill menu is expensive with not really high quality BBQ meat. No one serve meat without slicing properly to grill in korea or Japan. I order sushi/rolls as well but tasted bland.It wasnt the kind of atmosphere where you typically expect for a Korean/Japanese grill. It will be more successful if they can do a grill buffet with a bargain price.Ambience 3/5Service 3/5Food 2/5Price 2/5

We ordered:- Beef Tenderloin ++- Striplon Gyunlku +++- Angus Beef Sirloin +++And- Dynamite Shrimp +++- Salty Edamame +++- Kimchi +++It was good overall. The place is a bit dark and boring. The Saudi lady on the front door was very nice. However, the staff behavior was a bit dry.

Enjoyed being able to barbecue some meat at my table! My favourite sushi was definitely the one with cooked salmon, which I normally struggle to find. They have sweet and normal Soy sauce. I was not too happy with the fact that they didnt have coffee or tea options. One of the steak options was also not available. So I had to change my original order. Other than that, most prices are in line with other Japanese places

I have tried the grill before and the experience was different and positive. This time i only tried the maki roll, dynamite shrimp and noodles. The taste and quality was not up to expectation in general. Post covid 19 many restaurants food quality have been reduced.

The grill beef was good. Sushi rolls were bad. The worst point is their add the 15% vat on top of the price they are giving. And this is unusual also no one has informed customers about it neither writing in the menu. This is not acceptable!

For chicken we prefer Chipotle Chicken.For beef, Tenderloin or sirloin are both great.Wagyu beef is over priced and very little slices so it’s not worth it.I haven’t tried other courses so can’t rate it nor recommend it.I’m a returning customer so I do recommend this restaurant a lot especially for those who love fried rice and ramen.

I had a good experience here. Delicious food. We had veal strips for grill. Salad and dinamate shrimp. The place is little over date though. It needs little refreshment.

quite expensive to eat here however the actual grilling is fun to do . Its just the price , a bit high compared to the other asian restaurant ive been to. The ambiance is cool though.

Highly recommended. This place has great flavor, variety and entertainment. I recommend the grill. Not too confident in your skills? No problem! They will do it for you as you watch. You need only ask. Think you can do it yourself? No problem. Just say so and the grill is yours. Great experience and good food. I tried the ramen, sushi (the one with Ebi... can’t remember the name), and the angus grill. All good. There was no traffic, and the service was on par with the price tag. Please give it a shot before it declines.

We went there on a Friday evening and it was almost empty, I guess because its a new place and not known.-Food: We chose the BBQ set for 2 people and every single dish was DELICIOUS! the rolls had good size, the salad was fresh and the meat was super soft and juicy. The only comment I have is they should offer 2 cups of rice instead of 1 (because we were 2 people).-Service: Attentive and polite, but mostly super Fast! we order and they were serving the first dishes very fast.-Vibe: Very calm and little dark restaurant, the decoration is really beautiful and simple at the same time.-Parking: We had a little trouble finding a parking place, maybe people can find a parking in the gym next to the plaza.

It was a great first experience for Japanese Yakiniku in KSA, combined with the simple yet elegant interiors that works with the ambiance of the place. The meats for the grill was tender and absolutely a prime cut. Overall experience and taste of each of our orders are beyond what i expected.

The food was good..and the single section is totally empty..only my concerned is the service sequence..soup appetizer maincourse then last is the dessert..Not the dessert together with the maincourse..

Nice quit place, but the food and service were average. Do not recommend the lavendar mojito as it is super sweet. The noodles were way over cooked.

In the photo the best orders they have, dynamite shrimp and mushroom rice above average, others are ok, tried them twice, wouldn’t come back.
