my 1st time trying the restaurant- the food is really good! my issue is with grubhub delivering 2 dishes that the driver clearly turned upside down , i have a bag full of sauce and pasta. really ruined it for me

Good Italian style deli food. It was a little chilly in the restaurant when I was there. Otherwise, a nice place and decent food. I had a taste for a meatball sandwich and found their sandwich was good but I would have preference the cheese which was just draped over the sandwich cold to have been melted a little.

As a New Yorker from the Bronx didnt have any expectations. My first time there visiting from out of town my family that finished US Navy Boot Camp. The staff was so welcoming by giving my nephew an clean apron to prevent any accidents that could happen on the uniform.The experience was AMAZING which compliment both the food & service. Felt like a distance cousin more than a customerEven the regular customers was down to earth as they look forward to their meals.The Bruschetta was neat, fresh,, and a nice introduction.I had the Vodka Cream Sauce Rigatoni with Sausage & fresh peas.I will wrap it up, by just saying will fly back to ILLINOIS just for their customer sevice and the food is the treat.Respectfully,Eric E (EL BX)

Real Italian food, so damn good.

Really liked this place! The food was delicious and a good portion. It’s a little bit on the pricier side, but the dinners also include a soup. Wines are also affordable and delicious. Service was friendly and the owner was also friendly and helpful. Will be back!

Decent place which seems to do more takeout than dine in. The bruschetta was not good as the bread was very thick and not grilled. The tomatoes were also massive so it was a massive mess. The sausage pasta is like a pressed Italian sausage which is very odd. The chicken Marsala was very good but could have used some more flavor. All in all an okay place to go but we have had much better authentic Italian elsewhere.

Love it here! I have had lunch(walk up, order and sitand dinner (seated and order). Combos at lunch are great. I always get the Bresola! Brought my family for dinner a couple times. My favorite thing to order is the pasta with vodka sauce- same with my husband. The best vodka sauce Ive had. My son picked this place to have his birthday dinner because he loves their fettuccine alfredo. My daughter always gets a fired pizza. Pasta dinners come with a soup or side salad. I always get the soup- never disappointed!Oh and Ive catered sandwiches and pizza for a bridal shower I hosted last summer. Great delivery service and packaging. If only I didnt put my neighbors address in! They called verified and came right over.

Delicious drinks and food! The tiramisu was one of the best I had for a while. Next time, I will not share this dessert with anyone else.

This was my first time here and Antonella was so friendly and personable. I ordered the wood grilled sausage pizza. It was fresh with big hunks of sausage and pizza crust was very soft. I also had a very fresh side garden salad with ranch on the side. I also bought an Italian drink and bought 3 cookies that they make fresh. I ate them this evening with milk. OMG!!! The cookies melt in your mouth. Forget Maggianos or any other Italian chain restaurants. I will be back to Bontas. A hidden gem.

First time customer here, and this is a MUST TRY!! It’s all about good vibes, good food, and good service. I found this restaurant to be very authentic and welcoming. The vino was delicious and paired well with my meal. This place has something for everyone, and honestly, I will certainly be back for more. They are, of course, known for their pizza, but If thought to switch it up a bit and got Alfredo pasta! They’ve earned my highest recommendation.

The 4.6 rating definitely threw me off. Ill preface this by saying that Ive eaten at plenty of Italian restaurants in New York and New Jersey. Went here on a Friday evening. Ordered Aperol Spritz, Negroni, Fried Calamari, Bonta’ Di Terra Pizza, Braciole, and a Canoli. The drinks tasted like cough syrup. The fried calamari was cooked well but the batter wasnt as good as any other Italian style calamari Ive eaten. The pizza just wasnt very good. I think it was priced based purely on the prosciutto. The Braciole was the highlight of the meal. The meat was well cooked and extremely tender. The cannoli was crispy and the cream had a pretty good flavor. The service was good. Overall, for a meal that was $100 with tip, it left much to be desired. Dont think I will visit again.

I kind of hate writing reviews based on service because I know peoples experience and tolerance for this are different.... But this place is actually ridiculous. We placed our order online, husband arrived at estimated pick up time... order wasnt ready. Asked numerous times and kept being told the food was almost ready. Finally an hour after order was supposed to be ready he was informed that the kitchen forgot to make our food. Husband tried to talk to owner about the possibility of a discount for our inconvenience and husband received a dressing down lecture about tolerance of mistakes and an interrogation about his line of work. Food was also just not good. We got pastas and it was edible but not worth the price. Meatballs tasted like chef boyardee, Caesar salad dressing tasted processed. Pasta and sauce could have come from Costco. Not sure why the positive stars from others but we certainly wont be back.

Food was great, but the short fluffy Mexican waiter was extremely rude. Whatever was going on today, i wish him well.

Great place to go for lunch! Usually do their chipotle chicken sandwich and a bowl of soup!On the pricier side. Plenty of indoor/ outdoor seating.

Great spot in the neighborhood. I tried the meatball sandwich with tomato bisque and also the buffalo margherita pizza. I would recommend all of it.

Great experience!The staff were extremely friendly even during a very busy dinner rush. The wait was a little longer than usual, but was due to a printer error that put the staff behind. With that unfortunate event they still provided great service and were attending every table as quickly as possible.The food was well worth the wait! I got the vodka pasta with shrimp, and it was a 10/10 dish. If we are ever in the area for another tournament we are definitely stopping in again!

This place has absolutely the best Italian pizza I’ve experienced since leaving Italy ten years ago. The owner greeted us, which was lovely, telling our party she imports her ingredients from Italy, which IMO makes ALL the difference.

Lovely place, food is gorgeous and delicious!We also had the privilege of being assisted by the owners daughter and she just wonderful as well.

This place is so good! We started with aranchini. Then had three sandwich combos, one caprese and one meatball, both with soup. The chicken lemon soup (Saturdaywas amazing too! Will definitely be back and cant wait to try other dishes.

I was here for a dine-in on a Sunday with a friend and didn’t have the experience I was expecting. The food was cold and they gave plastic silverware which was unacceptable for this price range and dining in, and when I requested to change them the young woman didn’t seem very pleased. They also missed serving the salad which I realized later. This place used to be better.

It was good food. First time visiting this place. We came in around 8.30 ish and struck around till close and they were very paitance with us.Service was good as well as food.As a first timer there I would have liked to be able to try a few different pizza by the slice but that option was not available. We tried a Buffalo cheese pizza and veggie lasagna. Both were good food and very filling. All the pizza was accounted for, the lasagna was heavy and hard to eat it all. Overall great place. Good service definitely come back again. !Good for kids too!

This place is unbelievably good! The food, the service, the family-owned operation, everything. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. I had not been here in years but was so glad to have had dinner here the other night. They even remembered my dad who used to work down the street from here but has been working in FL for several years. Such a cute touch that they remembered him! Will be back again soon!

Amazing place. Live 100 miles from there and i go everytime im in the area. Great food, pizza was really soggy but was still good. Lasagna was KILLER, wife had pasta and meatballs which were very good. Nice man always there super nice like your happy Italian Uncle. Keep up good work.

Love their pizza and calamari! The dough can get a bit soggy in the box, especially near the middle of the pizza, but I don’t mind that as this is some of the best pizza I have experienced in the US.The sauce they make is light, tangy and rich in fresh tomato flavor. We’ll have to try their pastas next.Prices are affordable for the size as well. Definitely recommend and would give a 4.5 if Google allowed half stars.

Ordered food for office lunch from website menu and paid in advance. No deserts are listed on website but saw Tiramisu when picking up food. I asked if it could be added to the order and was told if I wanted it would have to be a new order. I chose not to but was surprised that for an over $200 order a $5 tiramisu could not be given. Strike 1.When opening the food the salad I requested no onions had raw onions on it (and noticed extra charge). Called back to ask about it, person did not understand so I figured I would just try again and order another salad and 2 tiramisu. When I went to get that we realized it was a misunderstanding on the phone order "no" instead of raw. The woman explained that all ingredients are listed so if it is not there it will not come with it. Most places if there is a misunderstanding accept responsibility, she made it seem like it was my fault. Strike 2.Then when I looked in my bag there was only 1 tiramisu. I asked for the receipt which was not given to me, they printed it and I was charged for 2. I told 2 people there was only 1 tiramisu in my bag, at that point neither were friendly and the woman asked me "well how many were on your receipt" I showed her 2. I was reluctantly given another. Strike 3.I am all for supporting small businesses especially in these times, but when I walk into a place and the customer is wrong 3 times, that is not a place I could consider supporting. The tone with food returns as printed on the website is exactly what I experienced in person, unless you like confrontation I would stay far away from here.

I ordered Bontà for the first time tonight using Grub Hub. I got the Quattro Formaggi Pizza. When the driver arrived he had the wrong food. When I let him know it was the wrong order, he replied with, thats what they gave me, call the restaurant and he left.When I called the restaurant, I spoke to a very nice young man, who confirmed what was ordered vs what I received, was very apologetic and patched me to the manager. She as well, was very apologetic and offered to bring us our pizza. She arrived quickly, with our pizza and apologized again and was very pleasant.I am very impressed with Bontà and how they handled things, and the pizza was delicious. Iwill 100% be ordering from Bontà again in the future!

Update (August 2021)The pizza is not that good anymore. The great Napoletan crust, thick and fluffy, became thin and rock hard.Very much disappointed :(What used to be 5 stars is now only 2.5 stars at mostWhat a great find. This place has been producing great Napoletan pizza for the last 3 years - finally we have a place like this in the northern suburbs. I ordered Caprichiosa and it was really good. The only complaint -the artichokes were a bit bland. But the dough had same great taste and texture, as in famous pizzerias of Naples. This little cafe also serves panini, lasagna, and other Italian favorites. Great selection of Italian wines by the bottle. Looking forward to many more great pizzas.

I ordered the Chicken Marsalis. It came with mashed potatoes and spinach as sides. I ordered the Tomato Bisque to start. The Bisque was very good. The entree was excellent, especially the spinach. The chicken had a nice flavor.The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant was small, but had a nice atmosphere. Overall, a great experience.

Great service and food!! Ifelt like I was in a cafe in Italy. I had the caprese salad and it was delicious! Definitely returning to this place to try their pasta. I had their pizza and the mozzarella cheese was so fresh and yummy!

I really love eating here. Its a family run restaurant and everything tastes wonderful. Made fresh when ordered and the perfect sized portions. They even sell their meat, cheese or veggie lasagnas to take home and bake yourself.

Was staying down the road and saw the good reviews. Thought we would try it. Dined in and service was great. The food was excellent. Large sandwiches. Pizza was first out. Fresh with gooey cheese and pepperoni. Little greasy but was very tasty. The pasta with vodka sauce, my goodness. Best pasta dish Ive had in awhile. Aldente pasta and added shrimp. The bread on the side was light soft and crispy crust used to mop up anything left in the bowl. That good. The panini sandwich was great. Very filling. I would not hesitate to stop here again.

I had an amazing Margherita pizza from Bonta and it was both delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere in the cafe was charming and inviting, but they also handled my take-out order quickly! I would highly recommend this place for work lunches or dinner dates.

Where to begin/// as a professional guest and addicted pizza person I have found the gem (to me!! Bonta is worth the money hands down// the owners (Antonella & Nunzeowho were working bussing tables,running food, brought me my beer and frosted mug, and rang in my food withbs smile are incredible. I asked Antonella, who was on the register, what was great she told me the margarita pizza which is the least expensive pizza / an owner that does not suggest the most expensive item (awesomenot let me clear some things up. 1. It is a deli mini grocery store and pizza place. 2. They have counter service during lunch and full service at dinner 3. They have a dinner menu that i am excited to go back and try. 4. The entire team was amazingly polite and hospitable. 5. Before you complain about the pizza know what type of pizza you are eating. 6. It is cooked in a wood fired grill your gonna get charred bubbles on the crust ( try it, it is delicious)7. If you dont like something talk to the owners they want the feedback and will fix it. 8. Antonella and Nunzeo thank you for allowing to be in your home and try your real food. I will be back.

Great place. Family run business. The food and staff are outstanding. The pizza is good. And the cannoli and cappuccino are fantastic.

I’ve had calzones, pizzas, sandwiches and chicken parmesan from here. By far the best in the area. Everything is fresh, most things are made in house and just very tasty. Definitely get anything with mozzarella cheese in it and anything from their wood brick oven is good too. Has a casual bustling neighborhood vibe. Highly recommend if you are in the nearby area!

Bontas Italian Deli and Restorante. What a hidden gem in the Lincolnshire negihborhood. Fresh cut meats , a wonderful Italian wine selection with wine sampling events monthly an authentic Italian fare make this a cant miss if youre willing to get out of Chicago. Forget the Chi-Town Deep Dish. I ordered the hand tossed wood fired brick oven pizza for 9.00 and a dollar per toppings. Im a meat guy so the Pepperoni Italian Beef and Sausage along with Mushrooms, Onions, Tomatoes and Fresh Basil filled it out. A picture is worth a thousand words. I literally had to eat part of this with a knife and fork! This 12 " pie is enough for 2. There is a wine selection to choose from on the menu however I have been told that you can also purchase one of the great wines off the rack and have at your table. This place is located in more of a corporate environment but I have overheard locals state that they have been coming here forever. If the rest of their food is anything like their pizza , I may have to take a special trip to Lincolnshire! Ask for Nunzio. He will be happy to help!

The food here is all very good and homemade. I had the margherita pizza and fettuccine alfredo. The Alfredo was really good and had a nice garlicy tang. The margherita pizza had a phenomenal crust and really good mozzarella but unfortunately used shredded basil that lacked the flavor burst of fresh basil leaves and the sauce also did not live up to the rest of the pizza. However both items were still delicious. The restaurant is counter service during lunch time and all of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere in the place was also great.

So simple, so delicious!! Place, like places in Italy. With nice staff, Italian music, speech...pizza, pasta, panini...coffee...dolce...just cant stop. Oh...canolli...yes...love it!!!

This was my first time here and I have mixed feelings. The food was great, but the service and follow through was subpar. They were slow getting us seated, even though waiters walked by many times. Our waiter was prompt and very friendly. However, when we received out food, both orders were incorrect. The pasta on my wifes order was the wrong type and my pizza was missing the chicken I asked for. A second waiter straightened out my order. My wife dealt with her pasta as it wasnt a big deal to her. The good thing is I didnt get charged for my chicken, my lemincello or my wifes soda. I would like to go back due to the food being so excellent.

This was a lovely spot and one word, delicious. A true Italian deli with delicious pies and various eats. The buffalo margherita pizza was simple and delicious...flavorful tomatoes, rich buffalo mozzarella, and fresh basil. Just enough to share with two people and a salad, or to devour by yourself.The grilled vegetable salad with chicken was also tasty...tender, and well seasoned, chicken with lovely eggplant, roasted red peppers, etc. The vinaigrette was made in house and was an excellent compliment.The cannoli was different than what I am used to, it had a hint of citrus. When we make ours for Christmas it they would contain a touch of cinnamon. I would imagine the cannolis here would be lovely, and refreshing, on a warm summer evening with an espresso.Definitely plan to return to this gem.

Outside of the architecture and the theming of this place, Bontá is an amazing Italian restaurant that serves some classic dishes while letting you go at your own pace if you decide you want to order some wine off the rack next to it.The theme of the restaurant is very warm & casual. Its no frills, and theres a board next to the order in case youre new. There are napkin boxes, Parmesan cheese shakers, and plastic utensils by the ordering sign.I ordered a soup on one week & a chicken alfredo today. They do not skip out on quality at all. The portions are hearty, the sauce was rich, and the noodles have a good bite.If you havent come here, I highly recommend it. A small gripe I had was the garlic slices giving off a flavor thats almost too herbal..? Whatever the case may be, Bontá is a splendido. Check it out.

This place is so good. I always get their prosciutto or bresaola sandwiches for lunch. I just went for dinner for the first time and was blown away. Pictures attached. Highly recommended

The staff were friendly and the food came out fairly quickly, but most of us didnt care for the smokey taste of the pizzas. My sister and I had the vegetable lasagna- more cheese than pasta, but fairly tasty. I liked that it came in a bowl. :)
