This is a wonderful experience for both adults and children. The staff were very knowledgable and really friendly ๐Ÿ˜ŠWe were able to feed the kangaroos and one of them had a baby in their pouch which was really cute. Id recommend bringing a packed lunch/drink with you and spending some time checking out all the beautiful animals. Well worth the trip ๐Ÿ˜Š

A must do on your trip to Hobart. A great spot to see the Tasmanian Devil in the open, which generally is very difficult to spot in the wild given its shy nature. You can stroll around with a huge group and Kangaroos and feed them too. The sanctuary isnt huge. Couple of hours should be more than enough.

We highly recommend the Night Tour! Our extended family went on a Night Tour for a special milestone birthday, and it was an AMAZING experience. Miguel was a welcoming and expert tour guide. A once-in-a-lifetime cuddle with little Winnie the wombat was icing on the cake, and we will remember that family adventure for years to come. Thank you Miguel, Winnie, and Bonorong!

All the staff are so passionate about why theyre there - to care for wildlife that can no longer look after itself. One carer even staying till late into the late so it can feed a young wombat.Highly recommend the tour they have regularly as theyre very informative and takes you to see the Tassie devils, wombat, and echidna.Highlight for the kiddos was feeding the other 120 freely roaming kangaroos.

A wonderful experience. The sanctuary had plenty of animals from across Australia, who were all well looked after and quite active. Appreciated the focus on Australian animals, and the hospital looking after injured wildlife. We did the animal feeding experience with a wonderful guide who was passionate about it, ended up going for much longer than advertised so we could see everything and experience as much as we could. The kids loved it too, didnt even notice the time flying by. Had a bite to eat too, the red curry at the cafe was delicious. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for the whole family.

This is a wonderful place to visit. The animals are so well looked after and absolutely adorable. Great to see the staff care so much about the animals and the at the animals have such unique wrap Ali ties. Highly recommended and your entry fees continue to support the great work of the sanctuary caring for injured wildlife.

Cleanly kept Wildlife Sanctuary. The enclosures were well setup for the animals. As far as for public viewing, there were many displays with nothing to see. We saw more signs than animals. I think this is a wonderful facility for the animals but dont expect to see too much.

Our night at Bonorong was AMAZING. We were ending our honeymoon in Hobart and wanted to do something special so booked in the night tour, expecting to only feed a few of the nocturnal animals. We got so much more than that. We had cuddles with the baby wombat, pats with the sugar gliders and time with the quolls inside their habitat (a huge surprise- plus more.I couldnt speak higher of our guide Robyn; she has so much knowledge and passion for the animals and the sanctuary and it really shows. She was open for questions, told us some fun stories and shared her love for rehabilitation and care of our wildlife.Highly recommend the night tour for animal lovers and the opportunity to see some special critters up close. If youre going through the cooler months, make sure to dress warm! It did get very chilly at the end.Very happy with our experience and learning more about the staff and sanctuary, what they do and how they keep our wildlife safe. Would go again in a heartbeat next time we are in tassie!

Not sure if itโ€™s worth the price. On the smaller side compared to other wildlife sanctuaries around Australia but youโ€™ll still meet all the Australian animals ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

The Carers at the sanctuary were all fantastic, you can hear their passion and sincerity for the animals during their tours and general walk around. Whilst its sad to learn of the animals making their way to this sanctuary, its fantastic to know this exists as it is the only Wildlife sanctuary in Tasmania which was surprising. Its not a Zoo, so dont expect fancy themed enclosures and gimmicks, the sanctuary is essentially a safe place for orphaned or rehabilitation animals, it wasnt a bother for us because we knew the money went directly to supporting the Sanctuary and their animals care. The trip out to Bonorong was fantastic seeing the terrain, farms and countryside was soothing.Highlight was to see active echnidnas, Tasmanian devils and Winnie the Wombat.

Free tour with entry was well worth it. They woke up Whinnie the wombat and talked about her and wombats and the park in general, then showed us the devils. We made our own way around the rest of the park. Highlight was feeding the many kangaroos, who def have no concept of personal space.Doing great work for the native animals โค๏ธ

Beautiful wildlife sanctuary. I especially enjoyed reading up on the different back stories on how these animals began their lives over here. There is also a huge paddock at the back of the sanctuary with lots of kangaroos that you will be able to feed and take photos with.

I FINALLY SAW A WOMBAT!!! So cute! It was the highlight. The staff were really knowledgeable and informative. Would recommend you join their free tours where they bring you around to the wombat and Tasmanian devils enclosures.Unfortunately when we went, the kangaroo enclosure was closed due to introduction of new joeys. The place isnโ€™t very big but you get to see all the main Australian species. They run on entrance fee collected from visitors, so do give them the support!

We had a wonderful time at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. One of the many highlights of visiting TAS in April/May 22. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming upon arrival. Plenty of parking onsite. Our handler Brett for the Wombat experience was a pleasure to meet and very knowledgeable of all the animals and their history and plans for rehabilitation at the Sanctuary. Also dont forget to stop by the gift shop!

Nice native animal park but not all animals were visible, being that many are nocturnal. However, we really enjoyed the tour which included the wombat and echidna enclosures. Got close up with a wombat and enjoyed feeding the many kangaroos with feed that was provided. Not an easy access park, steep and rocky paths that are not wheelchair friendly.

It was a superb and moving experience. Well definitely support you any way we can. Well done on the fabulous way you care for native wildlife. Also great fun to get up close to some of our favourites!

Fantastic cause, fantastic experience. This is a really important facility for the wildlife in Tas as a hospital, sanctuary and educational facility. I learned so much on the tour about some very cute native animals, the volunteers and carers have so much knowledge to share. Thereโ€™s a great gift shop as well and option to donate. Well done to the team here for raising awareness about animals and animal safety and allowing the public to see and learn about these animals.

I never felt this happy the whole year. The moment I hold the Wombat in my hand, one of the main reasons I want to visit Tasmania, it was pure bliss. The park is not much funded by Government and it may look as if it needs lot of development works. Especially, as our car was pulling into the park compound, I was a bit taken back by the looks of the surroundings. Even the drive way is not well maintained, there are no proper car parking spaces, the entrance is not that fancy etc. But, if you truly look inside, you will see a bunch of people who work hard and most importantly ready to offer their genuine care to the wildlife that resides here. And this love and affection surely outweighs even the best amenities. This place is a home for many rescue animals. They even have a small clinic and a vet to take care of such animals who get hurt. The Tasmania evil, different variety of birds, the parrots, kangaroo, wombat, koalas etc, that was lovely. And if you pay $25 you get to spend time with the animals up close. The staff are so friendly and very helpful. I found pure love and emotion that is very hard to see around these days. It was definitely one of the greatest highlights of my Tasmania trip. This was also the first time in 3 years I saw Kangaroo. Being able to walk around them, see them up close, feed them is really a great thing. I was so happy as a small kid, a emotion that I found much needed in these times of distress and tension. Perfect place to unwind and relax. Lenny the Wombat is the best and he is my baby. ๐Ÿ˜

Fabulous job done by the team here in rehabilitation of injured wildlife, and a sanctuary for those that cant be re-released. Free tours add an educational element for kids and adults. As always, feeding and interacting with the free-roaming kangaroos is a highlight for all. The only real disappointment is the "Cafe", which has the potential to be a hit with providing the facilities for people to spend all day here, instead it has a very limited selection that is priced too high to make it a worthwhile exercise, and whilst the vegan only theme does go with the theme of loving all animals, it does greatly restrict the enjoyability of even a simple coffee. Overall, a must visit, but dont expect to be well fed.

We went to do an animal encounter and ended up staying and doing a night tour - honestly best decision we made! Was such an insightful tour and Robyn was an amazing guide. We learnt so much about all the animals, the conservation efforts Bonorong has in place and also got up close with them and gave them their dinner. We learnt all the animals names, their stories, fun facts about each of them and really entered their world! It was such a fun time and an experience I will never forget. Robyn is also so lovely, great to chat with, and was such an insightful guide. We visited from mainland but canโ€™t wait to come back.

If you want to see Aussie animals and birds this is the place to go. Its a rehabilitation sanctuary so all the inhabitants have been rescued or brought in injured. Most recover and are released back into the wild. Some arent able to do that so stay and are cared for by a dedicated team of specialists.

I love everything about this place. Their whole ethics align with mine right down to using no plastic at the cafe and the vegan only food. The food is delicious btw!The tour was extremely informative and not rushed at all. There was plenty of opportunities to ask questions. You can get so close to the animals and sit, feed and pat the kangaroos. Its not a zoo.. it all revolves around rehabilitation of injured native animals. None just for show! It was the highlight of our trip. Well visit again.
