Gilatala Public Zoo is also known as Bonbilash Zoo. It is situated in only 14 km away from Khulna city next to the Siromony Railway station. Located just beside the Jahanabad Cantonment, all the activities of this Zoo are controlled by Jahanabad Cantonment, Khulna. Therefore many people know it as Jahanabad Cantonment Zoo too.The zoo is one of the most favorite visiting places in Khulna. Because there are only a few things in Khulna city to visit and the zoo is one of them.The zoo is located in a quiet place, away from the hustle and bustle of the City. You can go there with your kids to remove their mental agony of living a monotonous life in the city. Though there is a limited collection of animals in the zoo, people of all ages especially children get enjoyment here. There are Peacock, Sambar deer, Mechho tiger, Hanuman, monkey, forest cat, Jaguar, Chitra deer, Royal Bengal Tiger and many other animals. There is a collection of birds like cockatoo and many other known and unknown birds. You will also see crocodiles there.There is a childrens park beside the zoo. This is also an attraction to the people as well as children of Khulna city.The zoo occupies a large space containing lots of trees in a natural calm and quiet environment. The place is suitable for arranging picnics also. Many groups arrange picnic here every year. Their system is very poor. There are nothing to see in the zoo. All animal is weak. In the other hand they didnt take dslr camera.

Its really great, you can come to spend your free time, the most important thing is that there is no security issue here.

Nice place.. but at the zoo specially in fish and snake gallery , its not acceptable that.. all the chemical processing fish has been rotten..

Binobilash Zoo is the beautiful place for childrens. I like the place. Many times viewed the Area.

This is one of the must visit place in Khulna. Zoo is not too much big but many common animals and birds is available to see. This place is completely green and has extra ordinary view. There is another neary park for children. Street food and fast food is available on entrance of the park. Anyone can easily spend whole day with family or friends here.

A good place to go with family and kids. The food is not that great. Some good some less than average. There are several souvenir shops around. The atmosphere is nice. There are rowboats that can be rented. Its also a picnic spot. People come for picnics from many places. Overall Its a nice place.

Nice place to hang out with friends or family. The boat ride was quite adventurous.

Nice environment inside and outside. Controlled by Jahanabad (KhulnaCantonment of Bangladesh Army. Neat and clean. Many animals ate inside this mini zoo. But the area is very small and not enough for a zoo. There are some fast food shops that are set here, but prices of the foods are high.

It is a mini zoo with good collection of different animals and birds, nice place for passing time with children. With same entrance fee (30 taka as on may 2022), they also permit to visit the Bonbilash park with green trees and several large ponds and playing space for kids. There is a pond with paddal boat for hire (10 minutes 50 taka 4 seated).

Animals are very less in number & they are not at all well taken care of. But the decorations are very good in comparison to the small area.Recommendations: Enlargement of zoo area is very much required with new animals.

Enrich with a lot of animals. Both native and foreign animals can found here. You will never be disappointed being visited here!

Good place to roam around with family. Specially the children can get more excitement as there are some kids ride options like (Shuttle Train, Hover Car, Chorkeeetc. Musical drums are also available there. Besides, there is also a Zoo just beside the park.

Good for a mind freshness. But all animals wasnt healthy there and also not a clean surface. But I like there side garden for seating.

Nice environment, if you want to have a nice time with family, come here. Due to the good environment, you will be able to spend beautiful moments in solitude.

Nice place for hangout with family & children. The zoo is one of the best one after the national zoo. Overall nice place to spend. Especially the only "Liger" in Bangladesh is also here.

Although its a Zoo, very much net & cleen, animals are active & well health. Lots of collection of animals there. Entering fees is reasonable.

Its a great place for visiting with your kids and famiy. But the number of animals is not so much. So i think more animals will be more beautiful.

Located within Khulna Cantonment and managed by the Army, this zoo is very nicely maintained, and all the animals are well fed. The whole area is very clean with beautiful surroundings. There are a couple of royal bengal tigers (being the main attraction), variety of monkeys, deers, ostrich and other animals/birds in the zoo. You can enjoy paddle boating (BDT 50 for 20 minsin the surrounding lake. People also use the adjacent field/vacant area as picnic spot. Overall a great place close to the Khulna city for a short trip.

Its good enough. You can go there if you have baby/babies or if you love animals and natural beauties.

Zood is beautiful but the the parks area is too small.

This is an amazing place for relaxation and family visit under some considerations. Things are not going to be changed, I mean no more adding in facilities or services overtime. Sometimes I found the place unhygienic, bad smelling. Now come to the point this place is very well managed Zoo. You can see there few birds and animals, Tigers and beers are the main point of attraction. There are some artificial things too. In the fish park there are a huge collection of fishes but most of them are just like 3D images and wide variety of aquriam.

To the place is awesome ,open at early morning to evening(magrib time),a tiger, some monkey & different kind of bird ,some crocodile have there,a mosque for prayer and some bout trip,some entertainment facility for children also for mature people there too..

It WAS a great zoo about 2 decades ago. But quality has pathetically deteriorated over the years. Animals lessened (which is a good thing i guess), remaining animals are not being tsken care of well enough. Only birds section was lively.The addition of Kids play zone (rides etc.is new to me. Appreciated.
