Coastal park with sandy beaches, barbecue facilities & eucalyptus forest, home to native koalas.
Great walking track,& park
Nice easy walking track off Lyons Rd in Toormina. Almost made it to the picnic area but walking with young kids they got tired and the light was fading so we turned back.
Lovely short forest walk, steep down the first hill but then the walk evens out.
I need to go back when its not so flooded and parts open back up
Love this place.Very tranquil
We stopped here for a couple hours for a rest . Its pretty will kept, beautiful area stop by. Its has a drop toilet.🤩
Beautiful place for recreation with family or group of friends. They were have BBQ place and fishing spot, you also can do canoeing on river, walk in the bush
Enjoyed the trail walk but it could be sign posted better
We parked the car at the Palm Crossing Trail and walked to the beach. On the way there were beautiful palm trees and a lot of birds to spot. If you want to drive the car to the beach, take Tuckers Rock Road. The beach was clean, deserted and breath taking.
Fantastic walk thru the rainforest and back along the beach - Bundagaree Walk
Great shady bush trail. Wide and clear, easy to navigate and not get lost or trip over. Sunscreen recommended and mosquito repelent a must!Easy to get to beach in some areas and hard in others.
Its like private beach. Pleasant and peaceful. Did a long beautiful walk by the Bongil beach...
Good spot for some fishing. Launch the kayak and go for a look around. Great spot for a picnic Or bbq also
nice and quiet place for barbecue and walks through the jungle
Awesome slice of bushland near the coast. Lots of wildlife and some secluded beach access if you can find it!
Very quiet place among tall trees and by water. Good bbq facilities, picnic area and toilet facilities
The road was blocked off by a tree trunk across the road at each end? But it was beautiful just to take a walk.
If you enter the park via the road entrance you will eventually come to a beautifully maintained clearing with electric bbqs under shelter with ample seating and nearby toilets. The facilities are beautifully maintained. Sometimes we enter the park via the "back entrance" along Lyons Road and simply enjoy a peaceful bush walk down to the railway bridge and creek. I will give another star if the problem of creek litter can be dealt with, as I have snorkelled there and fished out many cans and bottles off the little pontoon swimming area. Otherwise we love the location and hope to see it remain in pristine condition.
The walking trails were flooded and so I was the perfect target for lots of mosquitos. Beautiful beach and landscape.
If you enjoy coastal walking, access to beaches and rainforest, and plenty of solitary time then this park is worth checking out. My first walk was from the north into Bongil Bongil picnic area. Easy wide trail - went back later for lunch. Picnic area is beautiful and right on the creek- had the place to ourselves. Next morning I did the Bongil Beach walk, again had the place to myself. Beach was really cool. Very easy grade too. Tied it in with the Bluff Loop, but if you have to make a choice, I’d do the rainforest to beach. It says 3 hrs return but we took it easy and it was still under 2 hrs. Allow time at the beach. Would like to come back. Looks like there are more walking options.
Was a surprise find. Need an off-road or drive slowly through an unpacked road
Staff were lovely and very attentive. Restaurant also nice and clean. Wife had the big breakfast and I had the pancakes. Food was ok but I found the pancakes a bit too dry and I ordered them with maple syrup. Took my 2 little ones there for a quick brekkie on a Saturday morning. There weren’t a lot of customers when we arrived so our order came out quickly and it was amazing!
I was very surprised and slso a bit disappointed that the Sawtell Caravan Park (The old Sawtell Reservewas actually part of the national park. Please correct me if I am not correct.
Beautiful, went for a walk along the track near the river
Interesting little walk from Tucker Rocks car park thru regrowth rainforest and remnant littoral forest. Not many people there in July!
The Bundagaree Rainforest Walk is the best of both worlds; you are immersed in the bush but can constantly hear the crashing of the waves on the beach nearby. It is an easy and pleasant walk, that doesnt present too much challenge but will still get your heart rate up a bit. Finishing on a pristine beach amongst the rock formations and pools is a pretty spectacular way to end the walk. Definitely one of my happy places in Coffs.
Beautiful place, great views, awesome place to sit in your vehicle and watch the whales go by.
Lovely place to explore. Nice picnic area
Beautiful beaches.Very prestine should ban vehicle access and preserve this unique section of eastern coastline
Our 4WD got seriously stuck in heavily muddy trails.Lucky we were well equipped and love an adventure.AVOID ABSOLUTELY if you dont have a winch and arent planning on spending the night in the car!
What a beautiful place to take the family, so much to do & see in such a small area. We will definitely be back.
Nice deserted beach if you head north from the car park. Pitty they closed the camping area yrs ago. Most tracks are closed too in tipical N. P. style. Beach is drivable with access via track beside C P in Mylestom
Good place to go for a bush walk 4 the elder nice paths and a great bbq area
Terrific walking trails and beach....please look after it.
Really enjoyed the trip. Nice water for young kids. Great caravan park too
This national park is a ideal family day activity. There are a number of shelter sheds with BBQ facilities. The park is ideal for nature walks and also offers ideal still water facilities suitable for non powered craft such as canoes. The Creek can also provide a swimming hole but is not set up so be careful of logs and obstructions in the water.
nice quite walk. no koalas
Lovely bush walk along the Bonville creek. Nice covered picnic tables and grassed area
Beautiful and quiet. Nice place to be to unwind and take in the views.
Bongil beach is great but the road getting there could do with some work. Some roads blocked for no apparent reason. Typical Nation Park.
Bongil Bongil from Williams road, Bonville, entrance, has small pontoon for fishing or launching canoe, but need to carry it before launching. Also has large BBQ area with toilets & safe area for kids to run around. A very Beautiful spot to visit. Boom gate closes at night, with No camping allowed.
Beautiful walks and beaches, highly recommended for all nature lovers and beach goers!
Great that my sister and hubby have this forest on their doorstep. It is conservation land for Koalas and they also have wild wallabies there. We have explored the footpaths on past visits - cooler in there when it is hot. Take care about causing fires can be great problem in Australia .
The best Park toilets allways clean as BBQ s fantastic pontoon to launch your canoe
Great place for all ages picnics bbqs tables open space for weddings or let the kids play and a nice fishing spot too. Enjoy 👌👍👍
Ah, the serenity.. Such a wonderful landscape. Perfect for taking photos of during dusk with all the vibrant colours in the sky! Will be coming back here soon!
Waterways surrounding this area a great, especially by kayak!
Beautiful place. Lovely facilities. BBQ shelters. Parking. Very clean toilets. Had a wonderful time.
Paddle up the creek here. Its lovely. Saw a manta ray swim underneath my kayak once.
I live right near Bongil Bongil and my own property has the same name. The park features gorgeous deserted beaches stretching for miles, Rocky headlands, tidal creeks which are great for boating or paddle boarding. There are deep dark subtropical forests and overnight accommodation. Great and diverse park to visit.
