Casual chain serving cooked-to-order Korean fried chicken, plus other traditional eats.
Not only did i receive my wings about 40 minutes late but they were the wrong flavor, waitress(who obviously just forgot to put the order incame to our table and told us the chicken was taking long to cook when meanwhile tables that came in long after us got their wings almost immediately. Waitress tried to lie again when i asked why the wings took so long saying they were smaller. Horrendous service and a waste of time.
Dont order online. The order never came to me. They use doordash and if doordash fails they only offer a refund. no other choices.Edit: I was refunded and they reached out to me to apologize. However my review stands. Do not order online as long as they are using door dash.
Food was really tasty. Service could be better. We had ordered: Signature fried chicken - soy garlic sauce, takoyaki, bibimbap and tteokbokki. We also tried soju cocktails, they were very mild.
Great wings, best in the town.
Best food ever! If youre in center city, you gotta stop at Bon Chon! I highly recommend it!
I’ve been eating here for years, and I must say this is my LAST TIME. Not only was the chicken not all the way fried through, but every bite contained a mouth full of oil.
Loved the food and the vibe. Great waitress! Make reservations
Missed Bonchon in New York so decided to give the King of Prussia location a shot and boy oh boy!First of parking around this location was a chore.. driving around just to find parking in the front for curbside pickup.Secondly when I called to let the location know I was there for my curbside pickup, I had to literally beg to get someone to bring my order out. Its obvious no one there takes the time to review curbside pickup info that I took my time to provide online while placing the order.Chicken was quite dry... not sure if it was sundried before frying but I mean so dry you could choke off of it. Ordered half plain and soy garlic. Pot stickers were crispy but dry as well and fried rice was too moist - more like sticky rice. Seasoned fries tasted like some new new special and was bland.Sorry never again.
Love the pork buns ! Got delivery through uber eats and everything was delicious.
Chicken is overpriced for the amount of meat you get. There is just so much breading or its just not good. The drums are so small. I personally love the bbq chicken place, great chicken and worth the price.
I’ve been in bonchon like every bonchon location but this location is so disgusting went to the restroom and saw there kitchen and its like a house of ratssss!!! ITS SO DIRTYYYY AND THE FLOOR EVERYTHING! I hope the management do something about this but seems the manager sitting there and doing something. But its not clean at all foods are also reheat server is not that helpful at all! I love bonchon but will never eat in this location NEVER
The Best Korean Fried Chicken Ive ever had Crispy and Juicy at the same time Bonchon is Bomb.
Me and my fiance went here for lunch the food was pretty good we had the silly fried Chicken and the spicy fried chicken with seafood fried rice and the hot spicy dumplings we love trying different food this one was a pretty good place I will definitely recommend this and well be coming back
This was the only spot open late night in the area so we ordered some wings and fries to share. We did a half n half medium...There is no reason whatsoever Wings need to be this damn spicy. Do Not..I repeat...do not order those damn spicy wings!!! The soy ginger were amazing though and extra crispy. The seasoned fries have some sort of weird powder on them...no salt. But they saved our mouths from the burning spicy sensation.
Tried out Bonchon with some friends after work and had a good time.Service was quick and responsive, and we were able to get seated very quickly. We ordered two sets of wings and everything was crunchy and delicious (get the spicy sauce!). The popcorn shrimp and fries were only okay, but definitely recommend the chicken.
The food was very good. The service was not the best both time wise (waited around 25 minutes for our foodand our server was not the friendliest. Definitely not t total turnoff though. I will definitely come back as I REALLY liked the food from the french fries to their bimbimbap. It was also priced very reasonably. Would definitely recommend it!
So good. So good. Both kinds of fried chicken were just incredible. And the cole slaw. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh the cole slaw! Just so damn good! A great meal and the rap videos created a wonderful ambiance.
We got their their boneless and bone in wings (teriyaki and spicywith cole slaw. Everything was good and the hot wings were a bit more spicy than we anticipated but really good and crispy!
This is my second experience with what I assume is a bar- restaurant w busy take out business. Several months ago, as my first time, I asked staff at front if their 2 flavor choices could be offered as a SAUCE ON THE SIDE and was told that was an option; I chose BOTH flavors on the side to try out. Instead the REALITY I faced was a mouth burning lasting forever because I received the whole order as SPICY; the condiment/flavor is in coating and there is NO SAUCE ALTERNATIVE! After TOO MANY ATTEMPTS to address this serious result with the RIGHT MANAGER(Huh? I was able to get store credit. It seemed like a government-level negotiation! Let me explain the basis of “MANY ATTEMPTS”. If you call this business as I have been trying for the past 45 minutes, you will receive a VERIZON message informing you the party you’re calling is busy and to try later. What business with any investment in its image will subject a customer to such effort, and this is still unchanged as I write this. And what is THIS? I stopped by earlier tonight and asked if I could have 1/2 of order with soy-garlic and the other half PLAIN and again confirmed with staff that this was possible before I placed my order ONLY TO FIND OUT AT HOME THE PLAIN HALF IS SPICY and as I tried this first Ire experienced the same awful prolonged painful reaction. AND ALSO EXACTLY AS BEFORE I CALLED URGENTLY ONLY TO RECEIVE THE SAME VERIZON MESSAGE. There must be other Korean establishments that offer this iconic food butOPERATE PROFESSIONALLY WITH EXPECTED LEVEL OF CUSTOMER ATTENTION. This place is 1. OVERPRICED for all its sides; 2. lacks easy phone access(this is hard to believe for take out operation3. Staffed at front by untrained clueless staff (not sure if there’s a lack of concern by kitchen staff but it’s a definite possibility from my 2 bad experiences. As the saying goes: Three strikes and you’re out. Bonchon struck out for me. AVOID!!
aight so like their fried chiken (soy garlic specifically), SLAPS. like. flavor TOWN. like. sauce drippin off the bone. meat tender like a warm hug. BUSSIN. same w/ their seasoned fries. uh-mazing. 5 stars for that. however, i took 2 stars off bc literally everything else ive ever gotten from here has left something to be desired. their fried rice, teokbokki, and udon bulgoggi are all astronomically bland. the fried rice was definitely not terrible but overpriced for what youre getting. the teokbokki looked far more flavorful than it tasted. how is it so orange ???? and yet. so bland???? the udon bulgoggi was extremely overcooked. like. stringy af. like. melted on your tongue before you get to chew it. i was expecting al dente noodles, and this was very much a disappointment, especially for the price point ($16). all in all, DEFINITELY come here for the soy garlic fried chicken, but ordering anything else off the menu may be a gamble.
I came here a couple weeks back for the first time with my friend to try Korean fried chicken. Definitely worth the hype. Chicken was super crispy and full of flavor, we loved it. My only complaint about this place is that our table was very sticky and the floors were extremely slippery. I have a bad ankle and I was afraid I was going to slip and sprain it again in that restaurant. Overall though, a good experience, but dry off the floors !!
So insanely good! Everything Ive tried has been top notch and the soju cocktails are so fun! Highly recommend if youre in Chinatown.
Went there with friends around 4:30pm, the Takoyaki was literally dark brown close to being burned. The Bulgogi Fried Rice is 14 dollars and you get such a small portion with it tasting just okay nothing amazing, definitely do not get it. The Bibimbap tasted like dirt/earthy they added some weird bubble things and had just beef, eggs, lettuce and some carrots which is nothing like Bibimbap that has so many different banchans in it. The chicken had a good texture but had no sauce on it, they are very stingy with the portions and sauces. The only thing that was good was the drinks and staff they were great and the place was very clean and nice. I wouldn’t waste my money, there are plenty of other restaurants that are 1,000 times better with prices and portions. How is the restaurant named Bonchon and you have no Banchans.
the chicken and rice were good, but the rice took a long time to come out. The prices are steep for the food they serve and rice was very sticky. The could work on the upkeep of the place like mopping those slippery floors and keeping the bathroom stocked. Also fixing the shaky table and replacing the chipped rim plastic glasses.
AWESOME! The food was DELICIOUS the service was GREAT and I cant wait to return.
Best Korean wings in Philly. Period! Does anyone know a better place? If so, please let me know.
The Bulgogi I ordered was supposed To be 1700 calories, but I a small trays worth roughly the size of my hand. This was a twenty dollar platter. I was hoping it at least tasted good, BUT NO…. It tastes like the inside of a cheesesteak without cheese.I also ordered a udon noodle soup for my mother….it was literally just water and noodles They could have at least put salt on it. the only reason why I’ll give this restaurant a two star review is because the chicken I got my father is pretty good. I feel bad for this review because I heard this restaurant is amazing…. But this review should be a wake up call for keeping your “assembly line” organized. OK I’m looking back at this review and I’m changing the rating to a 3 because the the spicy fried chicken strips are phenomenal! Also really great customer service!
Great spot for late night eats and drink. Even at 1am, staff was pleasant and food was good. Had the wings dumplings and roll. Soju selection was great as well.
Ive been to this location multiple times on My lunch break....the service and freshness of the food is so amazing that its almost laughable. The fried chicken can be a little heavy on the belly, but they have plenty of other items to fulfill your taste buds....Korean tacos may be my favorite.
Wait is always super long. Just to get nasty food dry wings and my fried pickles were like they were not even attempted to be made just thrown in there. Could not even eat it. Do not recommend! Used to be good not anymore.
It’s been a few years since I had eaten here. I remember the chicken as being large pieces of chicken, moist, plump, and juicy. Tonight as I opened my 10 pc. soy garlic wings I was extremely disappointed. They looked like nothing compared to the chicken they had here a few years ago. I don’t know if it’s due to the pandemic and they had to switch chicken suppliers, or they are cutting costs. (the menu no longer offers drumsticks anymore, just wings, or boneless chicken). The wings are about 40% smaller than they were a few years ago. And half of my chicken were overcooked. The price for these 10 SMALL TINY wings was a WHOPPING $16.55 (that’s correct). You get to pay $16 dollars for ten extremely tiny wings. And your mileage may vary whether or not certain pieces are overcooked or not. These wings are too small to cost $16, and not worth the price.Just look at the pictures of the wings from 1-2 years ago. You WILL notice a HUGE difference in how bigger they used to be. I miss those wings. I will NEVER order from here again UNLESS they bring back the old, bigger wings. Even when they had those bigger wings, they were about $12, NOW they are $16 and you get much smaller wings!Never again.
We got the spicy and soy garlic chicken strips and boneless wings with pickled radish. Didnt think Id like the pickled radish but really enjoyed it. The kimchi wasnt too spicy which is great for me and the soy garlic sauce on the chicken was SO GOOD. They had a limited menu this time but were planning on going back to try the bulgogi and other stuff. Also, Im a kpop fan so I was loving the atmosphere there.
Such a great place for some drinks and good food! The anime selection on TV was also a huge plus.Food was amazing, and brought out in a timely manner even though the restaurant was super full. The spicy items on the menu are *actually* spicy, and the wings are my fave.
Not disappointed. I love Korean fried chicken, and was wary about trying this chain. They do a great job with the crispness, although not the best. Soy Garlic flavor is on point. The spicy is very spicy- okay on the wings, but overwhelming on the dumplings. Bulgogi Tacos are delighted with that roumalde sauce. Kimchi coleslaw is also a hit. Yum, Yum.
I havent been to Bonchon in years, but this last visit was even better than the memory of my previous visit. The wings and dumplings were great. Our server Moe was super dope! I also tried their Four Horsemen shot and that was smoother than I anticipated. The mojito I had was also pretty good, if youre into sweet drinks. Their upstairs has a great view of the large screen that plays music videos.
Had the chicken wings with the pork buns. So delicious sauce on the wings was not spicy it had the right amount of sweetness. Definitely recommend!!
Disappointed with the quality and quantity of food at philly Bon Chon. The bulgogi was kind of tasteless and didn’t seem well marinated. The drumsticks were over cooked and very chewy. I’ve had very pleasant experiences of Bon Chon back when I used to live in the Boston area and ate at the Harvard location.
Ordered 10 soy garlic wings for pick up, $15.50. It still tastes good, just not as juicy and marinated as I remembered from 2,3 years ago when I first had it... and not as tasty as authentic South Korea fried chicken. Not cheap for this portion but worth it when you’re craving for soy garlic
This location is probably the only one that have outdoor sitting in Chinatown during the pandemic.Needless to say they are famous of making Korean style fried chicken wings since they are actually a chain restaurant.I always go there to get spicy wings and this time I ordered the “salmon avocado ball” as well, little bit different than what I expected...it sounds like a deep fried meatball type of thing but it ended up being a room temperature salad with avocado bit and a piece of salmon on it, it tasted okay but I prefer my salad cold.
I loved the double fried chicken (4 wing and two drumsticksand kimchi I ordered with the lunch special. This location has an upstairs seating and large TVs playing K-pop.Update (3/5/2020)- Not sure if they changed staff in the kitchen - but I ordered boneless chicken that came out half an hour after it was ordered. I actually had to ask the bartender to go to the kitchen and check on my order. It also seemed like I got the crispy dressing instead of the soy garlic and the chicken was overcooked to the point that it was really hard. A patron that came in 10 min after me got their order of chicken with in 10 min. Not sure is cooking boneless chicken takes longer. 🤷
Top tier food in Chinatown with great drinks. We got the crispy wings with soy ginger sauce, spicy crispy chicken sliders and fried shrimp shumai. The shumai was particularly good because it was topped with a honey dijon dressing. Everything was incredible, including the drinks.
Bonchon (Chinatownwas pretty dope. The restuarant had a relaxing atmosphere and the staff was pretty friendly. I decided to give the Spicy and Soy Garlic wings a try. After 35 minutes of waiting, the wings came out and they were pretty good (they wouldve been amazing if the wait wasnt so long). Not to saucy or dry. My overall experience was good. Id recommend going to Bonchon if youre in Chinatown.
Went here for happy hour with my fiancee on Halloween. Had this chicken dish called Bak Do or something I cant exactly remember but it came with extremely spicy peices of chicken and rice balls. We like our spicy food so it was 🔥 🔥 brilliant 👌. Got a bottle of Soju after we didnt get the buzz from the Soju shake. Id suggest the neat bottle over any cocktail drink made with it as Soju itself is a 20% abv. The chicken combo wings and drumsticks was great too. Get small if your a party of 2. Service is amazing for a Chinatown place. Very courteous and helpful. They have seating around the bar on the ground floor as well as upstairs. Had a very good time at this Korean fusion place.
Love it. This place has best chicken wings in town. Music was loud, yet we still enjoyed our time here. Everything was too notch.
Great Chicken wings with very dull food other than that. If you come here only get the wings and DO NOT order any other food. Ambience was casual and fine with furniture needing some work (the chairs foam was getting off)
Takoyaki was pretty good but overpriced. The chicken is their signature dish, but I suggest not to order large size, because u kind of lost the tastebuds for their chicken after eating 10+.
Bonchon was a delicious experience. The wings are huge, full size drums. Like the kind you buy in a Perdue frozen package of drumsticks. Not the tiny type wings. They get them crispy as heck, and the sauces they use are delicious. They aren’t sopping and gross, they are just covered just enough and delicious. The other food was good as well, bibimbap, japchae, all recommended. Will go again.
I love this place for the tacos. The chicken is ok. I just had the secret burrito and it was amazing! Beer is always good too. Service is usually fantastic. Lots of energy.
Chicken is absolutely amazing here. I personally did not try anything else but my friends did not complain about entrees. Staff were friendly and very patient with us. Theres a decent bar here where you can watch sports but it is very interesting to see sports and K-pop songs on the same wall
I love the wings, tasty. I also ordered salmon avocado balls, not bad. The last I ordered is shrimp shumai, normal. From my point of view, I prefer wings, the space is not big enough but not too bad, the music quite loudly. To conclude, will come back for the wings.
