Bombay Palace - Indian restaurant in Cill Airne, Ireland
Is there a zero rating option ? So we decided to try Indian food n went to this restaurant. The guys at Bombay palace were really rude n unpleasant unfriendly behavior! These are the types who will lick western’s shoes n touch their feet but will ill treat Indian ( even if ur billionaire). Shameless people running this restaurant!!
Delicious Indian foods… wide variety on the menu… waiting time was a little bit on the higher side, but I think because of lots of orders from food delivery apps…Chicken Tikka masala was little bit sweet for my taste… but its person to person different…
Food was delicious! If you dont like spicy Indian food get the butter chicken, but if you like a little kick get the chicken curry. Everything is purchased separately so you will probably spend around $25 per person.
The food is reasonably good here but the prices displayed on the window are not the prices on the menu inside.Everything is more expensive. Very misleading.
Fantastic indian food! Always go here when we are in Killarney
Ordered chicken bhuna and lamb korma- very nice, tasty food and big portion. Would give 5 but naan bread was a bit disappointing- will come back- specialy for korma👍🏻
Please avoid this place, one of the worst customer service, no hospitality at all, rude old guy on reception. Complete waste of money and time. They should learn reception mannerism first and than open again….
Best Indian I’ve had in a long time can’t wait to go back
It was disappointing that the receptionist flatly declined to make a family reservation and didnt even bother to look us in the eye before responding "NO."Never going back!
Worst experience ever!Pathetic behavior of the staff.
Mixed experience here. I cant really fault the food at all. The butter chicken was great. The service on the other hand was sub-par. Neither of the servers seemed to have wanted us to walk in. Also, other tables were served before us even though we arrived a solid 20 minutes before them. Just put me off coming back again which is a shame.
Good Indian fare in a busy restaurant located in the heart of Killarney.Established many years.
Papadam not good. 2 pax dinner set is huge but flavor is okay. A lot of potatoes in the dishes. Has a very sus sweet and sour prawn dish. I guess its true to the locals tongue.
Excellent service with a detailed menu for all pallets. Intimate atmosphere, well worth a visit.
Extremely friendly, attentive staff and delicious food. We enjoyed a wonderful meal in a peaceful and romantic atmosphere. One of the top Indian restaurants Ive visited. Would absolutely recommend!
Love it. One of my go to places for a take away.Best Indian in Killarney.
Great staff & food! We love it here - Thanks guys ✨
Although a good meal and good serviceIll remember this restaurant for how expensive it was compared to Indian restaurants Ive eaten in.Nearly 90 euros for 4 basic meals and one glass of wine. No starters. The notable thing was the extra charges for rice on top of an above average charge for the meal.
We had a lovely welcome on arrival and that set the tone for our evening. First we had poppadoms and accompaniments. Then, We had pakoras, samosas and the house special of tandoori prawns for starters and they were absolutely divine. We then had naan bread and butter chicken with pilau rice. We kept going until we could eat no more. The staff were kind and attentive and the food was fantastic so a big thumbs up . A highlight of our trip
I got a lamb Madras it was OK.. take away standard, no more really. lamb was flavourless and probaly cooked for 3 or 4 hours before it was put in a sauce there was no lime pickle. the price was ok tho but its just a take out really inside was slightly to dark and overall I would rate it 3 star maybe 5 /20
Amazing food, I was so lucky finding a super indian restaurant in center Killarney.
Tiny, little Indian cuisine restaurant. Food was delicious, service very nice. Only 4 stars, because the interior was not really authentic.
Terrible service. Was going to order 2 starters but was forced to order a main. As a result I ordered just the main and paid less than I would have paid for 2 starters. Ridiculous rule and waitress didn’t take my feedback onboard, instead got defensive and told me in her whole career it only happened to her twice. Well, in my whole dining experience it has never happened to me either. No restaurant ever has denied me ordering 2 starters without a main. Instead of telling me she’d pass on my feedback she told me my case was unusual. Extremely bad service and rules, and won’t be coming back. Do not recommend.
We ordered hellish killing hot with some chicken, pronto served without needless fancy words and a diet for my wallet. It worked!
Covid passports required, people turned away due to not having these. The staff were pleasant, great food the flavors are fantastic. One of the best Indian restaurants Ive been to, well done.
Arrived got the Covid check ✔️ All good. Ordered food and have to say it was top notch. Not over priced. Staff very courteous. Have a very good choice of wines and 3 different beers and soft drinks. If Im back in Killarney Ill call back.
Was surprisingly quiet at 8:30pm on Thursday night with a good few tables available. Busy for carry out.Food was very nice if a little on the mild side but it built up through the meal. Lamb balti and Bombay aloo good.Staff very good and checked Covid certs etc. Thanks for a very nice meal. Will visit again next time.
The absolute WORST whatever that was cuz certainly wasnt food, it went to the bin disgusting would not eat there again for a million euros.First time I ate there it was bad but we decided to give it another chance after years because all other indian places were closed and oh boy it was worst than I expected.Ordered Lamb Tikka masala and chicken karahi. The lamb at least was somewhat edible but overcooked, overly sweet and under seasoned. Hubby was eating that and only ate a bit and the rest to the bin. Normally with Indian food he would eat everything and want seconds. The chicken dish was something out of this world, no salt whatsoever, no taste and the texture of the chicken at first I thought it was undercooked because it looked raw and rubbery so I decided to microwave it a bit and "finish cooking it" to try and save it. Well that didnt do squat, the texture makes me think it wasnt even chicken, it makes me sick to even think about it, impossible to chew without feeling youre eating raw meat and bland on top of that, my hubby tried it and decided to trow it in the bin thats how disgusting it was.It wasnt even worth to call the restaurant just dont want to have to deal with them ever again and completely over priced for how bad it is.Wouldnt give their food to a dog even. Bad bad bad..
So sorry to say that this is not the real Indian cuisine....I think you have to improve the quality and taste of the food you serve.Being a customer we expect the best food for the money we paid. The chapati was like rubber and the curry was really sweet and tasteless eventhough we asked for spicy. After reading all the comments I could suggest to revew your menu with your cheff(preparation). In a tourist place like kilarney you should improve your standard....
Great food and prompt delivery (mine was a home delivery). As an Indian I can say the food was authenticand quantity was great. Definitely recommend this place if youre looking for a good Indian meal.
Worst service . No courtesy . They wanted us to order 2 main course for 3 of us !!!. They said they can go elsewhere if we can’t order , despite ordering our own food and drinks for 100 euro. Ridiculous. They have reason chef won’t agree . Who runs the restaurant ? Chef or owner ? Ridiculous. When there is no understanding you won’t understand food . Need management to understand this . In few years if you maintain like this you will be gone .
Uncourteous and uninterested staff, had gone for a quick dinner but was told of a min order quantity - please make this clear on ur menu or on the website.. felt unwelcome, definitely do not recommend - do yourself a favor and choose some other place.
Avoid. Substandard food and service. Worst Tikka masala Ive ever had. Far too sweet. Server blamed us- indicating Irish people dont know how a Tikka should taste. Ironically my friends dad is indian and told him this and that she knows how a Tikka should taste like. But he just ignored that. Honestly dont know how this place is in business. Save yourself the time and money (and read the other reviews here). Will never go back.
Food was okay. The manager was really rude he kept staring at us all though dinner made us feel very uncomfortable. The other staff werent very friendly either not a place i would recommend very bad service.
Rude wait staff claiming a minimum order of 3 entrees (we just wanted 2); no mention about this in the menu or posted on the restaurant window. Something about the chef not accepting the order. Clearly they want you to spend more. Also, while it may or may not be the case, it appeared as they simply didnt want non-caucasian clientele in the restaurant. If youre looking for a friendly curry place in Killarney, recommend going elsewhere!
I cannot review the food because the service was so bad that we walked out. My family & I got seated right away as only one table was occupied. Then we waited for a server but no one came. Then a lady came by, told me to move my cell phone, & removed the 4th place setting then left. Finally the man who seated us came by. He did not greet us just strode there with pad. I inquired about the sizes listed on the menu & he clearly did not want me to order the smaller size. Then I asked if anything (i.e. ricecame with vegetable dish. NO. Then nothing. Really does anything come with dish. NO. He says I’ll come back. The prices are expensive for Indian food & to pay for rice is unheard of. One vegetable dish with rice would have cost 17-20 euro. My family & I decided to leave. This was bad customer service and a ripoff on food.
We booked a table for 3 at 18.45 in the evening. The menu was excellent. 2 of us ordered chicken dishes and one ordered a mix meat dish. The lamb was poor, tough and not eaten but the chicken again was lovely. Portion sizes were excellent we came away very full. Prices were fair.
I wouldnt even give it any stars... If you like Indian food do not waste your time going here. Not only is the food bland and tasteless but all the curries tastes the same! Onion bhaji tasted frozen like it came from a packet. I ordered a Chicken Jalfrezi expecting a bit of heat when it came it was tasteless I asked the waiter to change it for one with a bit of heat what I got back was a jalfrezi full of ground black pepper.. I ate because I was hungry and annoyed and had been brought for the meal, the rice was salty it was awful and way too over priced. Avoid like the plague. The dishes are almost 20 euro each and dont even come with sides u have to order those separately and charged for them seperately too. I dont know how they can sell such bad food for the prices they charge
Worst Indian ever! Spongey poppadoms , bland curry no taste or spice of it whatsoever? veg nor the chicken not fresh taste like it came from a microwave. A uncle Bens be far nicer. Very overpriced and spooky robot like staff. They havent Got a clue how to cook do us all a favour and close down
Curry was bland, bland not only spiceless but tasteless as well! And when we tried to tell the waitress, she didnt give a damn. She was like theres salt on the table, you can add it. Portions v small. Found the place expensive.would never recommend.
Just dont do it! Wouldnt even give it 1 star, horrific! Never in my life have I tasted such a bad indian. My tikka masala tastes like the sauce is made with tomato soup, just tomato soup, no flavour, nothing, awful! Pilau rice, hardly! Forgot the cheese in the naan bread. Best part about this meal is the poppadoms although they didnt send the dips which Id asked for!! Ive never written a bad review about food, this is how bad it is. Spend your money somewhere else!
If you are looking for Indian cuisine, this is not the place to be. The food we ordered was nowhere near what is suppose to be. Naan was like pita bread. As for service, the guy who helped us was very unfriendly with an attitude of "why are you here?". Do not recommend
Went unbooked and was not really expecting a table but was not expecting an inappropriate refusal and a very rude behaviour. As I read the reviews I suppose my Indian nationality evoked this response from the Paki owners who use Bombay to lure their customers to this Indian (sicresturant. Should name it Lahori Palace.
Tried this restaurant on our first night in Killarney. My wife and I are both vegetarian and usually rely on Indian and Mediterranean restaurants when travelling. While not the most amazing Indian dishes Ive ever tried they were tasty and filling and reasonably priced. The staff were attentive, welcoming and friendly. Great location right on main street where the atmosphere was just great. Would recommend this place for vegetarians.
Since we had been eating all day we thought we would call in here for something light. Mind you we were looking to order 6-7 starters, breads and wine.On going to order we were told "no the kitchen will only cook if you have a main"When asked why we were told "just does"So we left. There is nothing in their advertising, menu inside the restaurant or outside on the door to advise this.It wasnt late in the night. They werent overly busy; maybe this is why.Shame really as its been the only bad service we have encountered here in Ireland.
Staff is not friendly, sometimes impolite if you tell you didnt like the food. Fair Indian food. Always be specific how much spicy you would prefer; or else it would come least spicy, as good as sweet (and the staff/manager would never accept whatever you complain)
Service was nice. Food was far below average, cooked rice charged at 2.5 EUR extra (!); cheapest chicken meat used; vegetarian version of a dish made lovelessly of frozen vegetable mix including corn. Owner of the restaurant unable to accept any kind of criticism when my wife complained, he even turned his back on her. AVOID!!!!!!!!
Worse experience of my life. Just because I belong to a country you dont like does not mean I should be disrespected and my order should be canceled. I have never seen such a racist staff. Next time I would rather eat a McDonalds burger than be humiliated at Bombay Palace.
We had a wonderful lunch here. The servers were very nice. The food was great. They have some of their own original recipes.
Good decent Indian. Does not deserve the negative reviews. Its not the best restaurant in the world. Its reasonably priced, decently cooled and tasty meals. Friendly staff and speedy services.
