Bombay Dreams - Indian restaurant in Hong Kong, China
Bombay dream, my choice for upscale Indian cusine, moved to MaMaSan location cross the street, much nicer & elegant!Greeted by Shashank, courteous & attentive manager. They used to offer buffet lunch, but under social restrain to avoid waste of food, they temporary stopped.A la cart was just as nice, before food order, a bottle of S. Africa Chenin blanc, perfect with spicy cusine. First came spicy fried cauliflower😋, then chicken takka masala, 🤦🏻♂️must try, then 2 veggies, mix veggie curry & cottage cheese spinach in cream sauce, yam😋 Last, but not the least my favourite Mutton Biryani, a royal family dish, to me, it’s “to die for”😝Approaching to our 2 hour lunch, Shashank came offered us Indian single malt, “Amrut” to finish. First time to try single malt from Indian, good nose, sweet, smooth, mellow with mild depth, but not powerful, much like the new Mccallan Quest! Manager told me they are coming up with whisky pairing Indian cusine dinner soon, menu looks very inviting!I dropped my old blog to replace with this, new place is nicer, more elegant, yet tranquil & relax, servers are polite & attentive, ambience is good, what else can I say, “I WILL BE BACK”!Today back for their popular lunch buffet, see for yourself!
The food is delicious and the place very cosy
Authentic and delicious Indian food. Great service will be a regular here .
I had lunch buffet..I was shocked to see there was only aaloo and carrot bonda in starter. Also there was no variety in veg. It was a waste of money for me.
Good Indian food but slightly high priced. Has several varieties of items in the menu, but everything is not available round the clock. Overall food quality is pretty good, with proper Indian feel and spices. There are good number of vegetarian dishes as well and you might be served with tangy indian complementary starters. Ambience is cozy and compact but you might have to wait beside the elevator during peak hours for a table.
Its a good place to go to if youre looking for Indian cuisine, make sure to arrive early though. Place was packed when I had lunch there.
Best Indian restaurant in Hong Kong. Very friendly staff and amazing food. Weekends have brunch buffets with a large variety of cuisines from all over India.
Very reasonable pricing for buffet lunch. Hkd 188 per person. A lot of choices from meat to vegetarian. There are dessert including fruits. The restaurant us bright and airy. Looks like newly refurbished.
Nice Indian restaurant. The food is good and service is friendly. 5 stars. We will come back 😊🍴
Aunthentic and good food from the sub-continent. Good service and easy location. Now that its in a newer location which is bigger, the decor looks nicer. However, service has become very slow and not as attentive, despite there being fewer customers. Food quality is still good, though portions seem smaller.
Its a nice place, nice ambience and good service. The variety of food is good. Vegetarian items are less but still the variety is good. The serve a lot of side dishes in the brunch.
The brunch buffet menu is a must try. They have a wide array of food, including all the classics: dosai, chicken tikka masala, Chana masala, paneer, lassi… A salad & dessert bar is also available. The environment is rather posh and clean too. Rather friendly staffs. My only critique is that the food is not as spicy as the Indian cuisine that I’ve come to love.
I tried their lunch buffet on a weekday.Staff was so uninterested. It seemed to me that they were only interested in wrapping up your table and want to see you gone asap. Disappointed!Food was below average for a tag of $188. Dosa, pulao, biryani, rice and bread was a rare sight. Be prepared for a treasure hunt that ends in fatigue.Obviously,no one at the restaurant cares for your review, maybe this helps. I am definitely not going again!
What a great spread for their weekday buffet lunch! Food was fantastic and service friendly. Will definitely come back for lunch with friends again. Weekday lunch buffet is from 12pm-3pm.
Enjoyed the buffet. Loved the appetizers,Tandoori and Jalebi. But be on time 😅, 12PM - 3PM. No refill after 3PM :)
The new Bombay Dreams is wonderful! I really like the elegant decor of the restaurant and the staff is always polite with the guests. The buffet is.......Incredibly tasty 😍 .My family and I will come again for sure.
The new space is an upgrade from the last and has a great vibrant atmosphere of bustling conversation. The food is as good as ever. This is my go to Indian restaurant in HK. My particular favourites from their substantive menu is the chicken bhuna and the tandoori prawns.
Great service, great food, great environment. Will go again.
Food were fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back to dine with more friends.
Definitely one of the best India restaurant in Hong Kong. Excellent naan bread among the very nice curry and other India food.
Bombay Chaat and Channa Masala dishes were tasty. Have tried several naans from here which have all been slightly disappointing, however still a good option for Indian food in the area (if not travelling to TST to eat Woodlands!)Unfortunately my partner experienced mild food poisoning after dining here, so likely won’t be back.
Lunch buffet is up a notch from the others. You pay accordingly. Tastes fresh. Helpful staff. No red meat apart from kofteh. Carnivores might go elsewhere. Salads very basic, but all-in-all quite a nice place to dine.
Had our sunday lunch last weekend here in Bombay Dreams. The food was fresh and delicious. the staff was friendly and the service is prompt. We ordered a la carte though the Sunday brunch buffet was available. We enjoyed the food and wed definitely visit again if wed be going around the area.
My favorite Indian restaurant in HK. Best Chicken Tikka
I came because it has a high ranking on TripAdvisor.Taste not bad,Price high $2xx pax for Buffet lunch:too much people too little food,Dosa is unlimited luckily.Id pick Gaylord of Tsim Sha Tsui instead.
Good Food, excellent service
I absolutely love this restaurant. Bombay Dreams knows how to do Indian food right, with only the finest ingredients. Loved the curries and garlic naan. Had some samosas and fragrant saffron rice as well. Needless to say, we were quite full. The food was delicious and there was nothing disappointing about it. Call ahead to book a table.
This was the second time I dined at Bombay Dreams and honestly it was very underwhelming both in terms of service and food quality. The staff was not very attentive even though early in the evening the restaurant was not very busy. The food was far below the standard that I had expected from the first time I dined here. Not sure if they have had a major change in the kitchen.Overall for what one pays the experience was disappointing and sadly I wont be going back in a hurry 😔
Such a standard...If a restaurant has been around in Hong Kong for 15 years and its still around, you know its good! Been a regular here since 2005. Its still one of the best lunch deals in Central and probably the best Indian food in Hong Kong.
The Sunday buffet brunch is excellent! Every dish was delicious and our faves are the fish tikka and chicken curry. Very authentic Indian cuisine and satisfied our craving 👍
Came for a Sunday lunch with some friends and I loved it! Really good and tasty, I was so happy as I was craving for Indian food. The service was busy but the waiters were always friendly and here. Price wise very reasonable.Thank you Bombay Dreams
The food was delicious, properly prepared and a great value for the price. We highly recommend it for authentic Indian taste.
Excellent selection of Indian curries and starters during the lunch buffet! A must is the dosa which are cooked fresh, do not pass up on this they are very very good!
Pricey Indian restaurant but delivering exceptional quality, deeply-spiced food and a table service to match. The menu was impressively extensive, with several items I have not encountered before. Overall this was my best Indian food experience in the Asia Pacific region, and I will seek it out next time I pass through
Curry buffet lunch at $178 + 10%. Tastes good in general, mild flavors that would suit most people. I wish they could have more types of meat apart from chicken. Service is attentive, environment is clean. Overall a safe choice
If a clientele is the way to judge a restaurant, then clearly Bombay Dreams is the go-to destination for Hong Kongs Indian community. In my eyes that makes it THE place for Indian food in the city.We went on a Sunday for the brunch buffet, and it was excellent. From the yummy dosa to the tender chicken tikka, there wasnt a bad dish. And at $198 per adult, its a bargain by Hong Kongs standards.
Great food but service was actually awful. The host and waiter had attitudes. They mixed up our order and overcharged us. One waiter bumped into our table. So pretty pathetic service.
Nice Indian buffet restaurant. Good variety of food for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Would definitely recommend to try. I think they started cooking less spicy food so that everybody who is not used to the spicy food can eat. Drinks are also available. Bit difficult to find. Enjoyed my time there and definitely planning to visit again.
Hi Bombay Dreams - I ordered food 1 hour back. I just got a starter called Bombay Chaat which is no where near to its name. Could you please serve main course if you are reading this.
I have been to this place today and it was good experience having food at the place. I opted for buffet which I was not known to earlier and went for it just to try myself taste which are in offerings as I am missing Indian variety food ;This place is located at Carfield commercial building at 4th floor and its been in central area. U can be there with family n friends..Single person buffet cost u around 174 HKD, drinks will be with added cost. Enjoy...
Slow cook lamb taste goodGood PriceRecommended restaurant
Fantastic lunch buffet and a great value for money. If possible, get a table by the window. Friendly service.
food not too bad, nice to see a buffet style that does a good variety, enough different types of meat. very disappointed though with the salad not being filled up despite going out for thirds and the dessert selection is awful.also, despite booking a table a good number of days in advance, the booking wasnt honoured and had to wait for over 30min which is a big dent in our lunch period.food was good but with these negative points, wouldnt go back on my own accord.
*** Michelin star Indian Buffet - Better book in advance ***The lunch buffet @ Bombay Dreams has a bit more variety than the buffets at some of the other Indian restaurants. The lunch buffet is pretty packed most of the time on weekends (and on most weekdays too).... so if you go without booking in advance.... it would be at your own peril😊. Actually, we also went there without a booking (that too, for a Saturday lunch buffet).... and could NOT see a single table free😆Luckily for us, after 5 mins a large table became free and we could be seated....phewww👍🏻The STANDOUTS for me were (Among STARTERS)1Seekh Kebab (lamb- AN ABSOLUTE MUST-HAVE😋2Reshmi Kebab (Chicken- a CLOSE SECOND after the lamb kebab 👍🏻The STANDOUTS for me were (Among MAINS)1Fish Curry (Meen Curry-The flavor of the CURRY LEAVES is a bit dominant in this dish. So it has a unique taste/flavor.... better take a little bit first for tasting.... BEFORE GOING .... ALL IN 😝2Paneer Curry (cottage cheese-Very rich and literally melts in your mouth. Can you feel FULL in just 1 serving (as for me.... I can still have this Curry more than once..... after years of experience 😋3Corn, Spinach and cream curry -Another of my favorites. Also quite rich and and has a similar “melt in your mouth” quality just like the paneer curry above..... totally different taste though 😋👍🏻It was kinda hot there and I had to wipe the sweat from my brow a few times 😅 (even while it was cold outside). Had to down THREE chilled beers😜Definitely deserves a second look maybe after a couple of months.... when I might find some different dishes in the buffet (they keep doing some variations from time to time)👍🏻
The restaurant is halal (though it serves alcoholic beverages), and is located near one of Kowloons trendy areas. Its easily accessible by mass transit. The meals were reasonably priced, we were there for their buffet and it was absolutely fantastic. The premises were clean and the staff were professional. The variety of foods was very diverse and catered to vegetarians as well as meat eaters. Every dish we tried was properly prepared and no meats were overcooked. The meats were tender and the spices just right, nothing was too spicy. The depth of flavors were intense, especially the lemongrass soup they featured on that day.The place was absolutely packed by lunchtime, so I would advise getting their early. The views from the window seating area majestic. You get a view of an old (but refurbishedHong Kong police station and a look at the latest residential towers on the hills. Its a very surreal eating experience. I absolutely enjoyed it and will definitely return.
One of the best Indian places in HK. Great atmosphere and excellent service. There are a lot of items on the menu and many of them havent heard of before. Also we ordered some dishes which are not on the menu. Its mild and not too spicy, so good for everyone.
The place where I fell in love with Indian food. Great food, great service and very nice ambience.
We didnt try here as they were closed for rh day but I can comment on the place and menu. its cosy and the menu has plenty of varieties. should try the next time
Bombay Dreams serves good quality Indian food, the menu is vast and it includes the classics as well as some unique creations. You definitely pay for the location though. Right in the heart of Central makes it a great place for meeting people are prepping for a night out, but equally it ramps up the cost. At peak hours the wait times can be very long and the restaurant is pretty cramped so it can get a little stuffy. Still a great choice if youve got a hankering for Indian cuisine.
Beautiful restaurant with gorgeous views of the old Victoria prison and surrounding buildings. The food was excellent; fresh and flavourful, but the atmosphere, decor and views are what set this restaurant apart.
