Bomba Tapas Bar and Rooftop in Bundoora

We loved our dining experience at Bombabar! We had the pre theatre set menu and it was delicious and more than enough food. Was busy but the service was still very good. Will definitely visit Bombabar again.

Great little tapas place. The staff were wonderful and knew their products inside out. The food was really tasty, good size portions and perfect for sharing. Extra points for a perfectly made gin martini.

I absolutely loved the Olagasti Anchovies with Buffalo Ricotta, Goats Cheese and Garlic Croquettes. 👅The city views at the bar upstairs is also quite breathtaking, I love the vibes up there where you drink and move to the music. 🥂🎶

Amtosphere was great, and staff very friendly. Tapas were also awesome, although the beef main was a tad bland.I would come again here for a tapas, and then finish off with a cocktail at the rooftop bar

If I could give Bombabar more stars I would! Wonderful service, flexible and accomodating to our group, quick drinks and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Their margaritas were amazing and their non alcoholic g&t was great!

Underwhelming.3 dishes out of 4 were more than average.-Scallops (Tapas menuwere superb.-Charcoal grilled calamari white beans main. The "charcoal grilled" flavour was simply inexistent. Calamari well cooked. The dish lacked that Mediterranean "intensity", just so bland (barely any seasoning either).-Seafood paella. Seafood was great and on-point but the rice basis was as dry as a bone. I understand its not supposed to be creamy like a risotto but that was stupidly dry and borderline inedible. At a hefty price tag of 56 dollars you expect better...-Portuguese tart (dessert). The tarts came out of the microwave super-hot (why not in the oven?and the pastry came out soggy as hell. Inedible.Plus side: the staff was great and welcoming.The place is nice.

Bomba came as highly recommended - and it did not disappoint! My partner and I went for dinner to celebrate some milestones, and Bomba made for the perfect location. We sat at the counter near the kitchen, and had the pleasure of seeing the kitchen staff prepare so many gorgeous dishes - and they tasted as good as they looked. The cured meats, oysters, and tapas were all delicious, and we had the seafood paella as our main which was fragrant and tasty. The drinks selection is excellent, and the staff are attentive, kind, and helpful. We also headed upstairs to the rooftop after dinner, which was the perfect way to end the evening. We will absolutely be back!!

An absolute delight! We visited this fabulous little tapas bar on a busy Friday night and sat up at the bar. We ordered the set menu which was delicious and more than enough food, and a fantastic bottle of Tlemperanello. The service was excellent; great bar person who recommended the wine and kept our glasses filled, and chatty and informative waiting staff. 100% recommend. We’ll be back.

Very enjoyable dining experience. I mostly had the seafood dishes and they were perfectly cooked and tasty. Seafood paella is definitely worth trying.

The food was AMAZING and we had GREAT service. This restaurant is a must go! The rooftop bar is beautiful, although was busy and couldnt get a table - but not surprised everyone wants to be there.

The staffs were lovely but 1 hr and 30 minutes seating was too short for a group of 6 considering our bill amount. Lucky they have the roof top so we ended up having our dessert and more drinks there.

Ordered one of the set menus as we had a show to see soon afterwards. The food started coming out promptly but always with enough time between courses. Everything was delicious - dinner, drinks and desserts - and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Looking forward to going back again soon!

Lovely lovely service, and fairly efficient with the food coming out too. Particular favourites were the bone marrow, and ox tongue. Octopus was a little chewy but nothing unbearable; menu was on the more expensive side considering portions, but still pretty good

Delicious meal, customer service was superb. Highly recommend everyone to try the scallop and the bone marrow wagyu!

We (2 pplheaded to rooftop first for drinks and some views. My non-alcoholic drink was less than average ( I think the name was “Tee no Gee “). Views were okay, given that its only level 5 surrounded by taller buildings, good vibesService was also average upstairs.Then we headed downstairs, to the restaurant for dinner. Amazing customer service by Cara, thank you for your service, it definitely made our experience a lot better. Food was good. I liked how they decorated that space, lightning was good too. Busy, yet good experience.

Nice, quiet, had a good time and they didnt kick us out after a couple of hours like some places have taken a liking to doing so all round recommendable even if the wine list is a bit OK the limited side and the food is good without being the best youve ever had.

This place is great if you just want a quick bite. The food was nice, but I felt like I barely got to enjoy it before I was being rushed out. Was meeting up with friends who were in town for the weekend, and was hoping to enjoy some food while catching up - we were told that we’d have 1.5 hours at the table but at the hour mark after receiving our second drinks we were told they would need the table back soon. I get being efficient, but when you’re being offered the receipt before you’re even sure there’s nothing else you want to order, you get the message loud and clear that you’re no longer welcome.

This place is a tapas bar / restaurant on the lower level and they have a rooftop bar as well. We visited both today and drinks at the rooftop bar followed by dinner at the restaurant on the ground floor.It’s a stylish restaurant with nice tables and counter to sit on for a meal or drinks. The menu is small sharing plates and quite expensive for what you get. Tapas is priced per piece and $8.50 per croquette is quite pricey in my opinion.There is plenty of food options including main courses and three different paella’s on the menu. The vegetarian options seemed limited here and perhaps they have a separate vegetarian menu but I didn’t check to see if they did. The wine list has an ok selection of wine from Australia. NZ and Spain.The food was nice but nothing spectacular. The flavours were not intense enough for me. Sauces in Spain tend to be garlicky, flavorful and packed with flavours unlike the sauces here. Also a tad light on the seasoning. The beef main was very nice but lacked seasoning, the bone marrow on toast was lovely, the croquettes were lovely but the prawn over cooked and not tasty at all. Churros was also average.Great service and super friendly staff and bar tenders. Service was on point and the staff were attentive. Bit more punchy flavours and I would give it five stars.

We went for a pre-theatre meal. We were running late but the staff got us in and out in good time. Atmosphere is lively, food is great and service attentive.

The food was awesome and we enjoyed every bite. A number of dishes exceeded expectations.The paella wasnt huge for the price and generally I would describe the restaurant as not cheap. Service was friendly and efficient.

Ordered the $45 pre-show menu on Friday evening and was lucky to be seated as this place was very busy and clearly popular. Service was fast and efficient though the meal had a slight hiccup. Sangria was delicious and the highlight was the Brussel sprout salad which was surprisingly amazing. Seems you would need to book ahead if you want to get in on a Friday evening.

Food was delicious. If I had more time would love to come back & do the feed me menu to try more things. Also great drinks menu. Really good cocktails 🍸

Really impressed with the food, staff and atmosphere. The food is creative, full of flavour and perfectly portioned. I would particularly recommend the working lunch which is quick, delicious and filling.Also a special thanks to the staff who were able to accommodate a party of 8 for lunch very last minute. Absolutely incredible food this evening! Every element of our meal wascooked to perfection. Flavours and combinations I have never had and of which I will be back for more. Superb. To top it off the table and bar service was second to none. .

Great little bar with Spanish twist - paella, patatas bravas, sliced chorizo was excellent. Service was attentive, with a wide liquor menu. Wish we tried the rooftop bar though!

Jordan and Rafael were very kind. Their service was exceptional and really loved the ambience of the place. Glad that we ended up coming to the place, was a beautiful rooftop bar. Once again a very special thanks to Jordan the bartender who made us feel so lively at the place.

Really loved it here. The steak tartare was yum. The bone marrow was so amazing. The scallops & croquettes were excellent. But the mousse with the toffee on the top was the best dessert ever. I loved it here. Will def come back. Sam the chef is excellent. Service was great.

Lunch menu was very filling, but did feel like we were rushed.

Visited on sat night with my partner. Were lucky to get a table just as the kitchen was about to close. Ordered a few of the tapas and a main and was left speechless. The most incredible flavours, texture and quality of food. Best tapas bar i have been to! ♥️ Will be back! And really appreciated the very kind and accomodating waitress who served us throughout the night.

From the team behind Añada, Bomba was born. Serving also tapas-style Spanish cuisine, Bomba felt a lot more casual. We ordered the chargrilled quail, baked Hervey Bay scallops, Leek and Manchego croqueta, Crab, Lamb ribs, and a couple of desserts. None of the dishes disappointed us, but my favourites were the croqueta and Lamb ribs; the croqueta was so cheesily creamy on the inside with a thin crispy shell, and the Lamb ribs were very succulent. Despite being a very busy night, service was prompt and friendly.

Dimly lit during night time, Bombabar was a good place to catch up with friends, bustling with laughter and loud conversation.We had an early booking and started off with cocktails, which were delicious, refreshing, and hard to fault. The red wine sangria was too easy to drink with just the right amount of sweetness and spice to purvey a great meal with friends.Although some of the food was hit-and-miss, they were mostly delicious. The standouts for the montaditos were the “bone marrow, Wagyu cecina”, which was sweet and savoury at once --we’ll be dreaming of this for days to come! The “escalivada of eggplant, capsicum & shallot” had a smoky flavour we loved. Of the mains, the vegetarian dish was the star: we really loved the “cauliflower, saffron, paprika & sorrel,” which had a thin char enhanced by a creamy sauce. These went extremely well with the “heirloom tomato, burrata, pickled onions” verduras.The bits we didn’t like were the “paella of barramundi, pipis, calamari, scampi” and the tapas of “charcoal grilled pork belly, Pedro Ximenez, apple, fennel chicharrones”. Although they cooked the seafood well, I didn’t get as much flavour in the rice; we would have picked another dish from the raciones instead. As for the pork, I couldn’t get a hint of the sherry, apple, or fennel. It tasted a lot like other, middling pork belly in Melbourne. The "patatas bravas" were too salty but filled us up nicely.The staff seated us quickly and the time between tapas and the mains was long enough for hearty conversation. Our server was attentive and efficient --our drink orders arrived quickly, too, and kept us occupied for the wait for paella, which was well within the expected 30 minutes. There are no specials here, but the server explained the menu clearly, and kept our water glasses full.In all, we had a wonderful experience, and our only regret was the pricey but not impressive paella. This is a bustling bar with delicious cocktails and good food, lively for a night of catching up, and would be a great choice while on this end of Lonsdale St.

Food here is great though on the pricier side, especially for some of the tapas which are priced individually. Drinks were fair but probably not to our liking. Service could have been less rushed especially when running through a menu style that’s a bit different to what most are used to.

The food was very nice and got good variety of cocktails! Had a quite enjoyable dinner!

A First Class Tapas Bar Practically on My Doorstep!Wasnt looking for a huge meal and thought a Tapas Bar would be perfect, so was pleasantly surprised when Google told me there was such a venue just 80 meters up the road from my hotel - how lucky that was!It never feels great eating alone in a busy restaurant, but I just took a seat at the bar and felt fine - staff were friendly and attentive, with several offering good conversation...but the food was simply beautiful - great presentation and wonderful flavours.So, its 5 Stars from me, and I will definitely be back!

We ordered set menu- $65/pp. Great food & good portion (4/5 ⭐️).We found it quiet interesting(?that sourdough bread was part of the starters and fried potatoes were in the mains.We underestimated the portion by looking at the first two rounds of dishes coming in!! We were so full!We wished that desserts were included in the set menu. Anyway we ordered it and it was amazing!Great ambiance as well, music was not too loud and service was friendly. I felt really comfortable eating there. Sparkling water was free.

It is unpretentious and cosy, with intimate seating and moody lighting downstairs, and amazing views of the city from the rooftop terrace upstairs. 🏙The restaurant menu is tapas style designed to be shared. At the time of dining they were only doing two set menu options $65 or $85 however their A La Carte menu is now back on offer. As I had a @payo_australia voucher to spend we went with the $85 which had 10 dishes. 🇪🇸Their Garlic and Chive Croquettes were some of the softest and lightest I’ve ever had and the Octopus had that amazing, strong BBQ flavour to it. The Pork Belly was rendered well and complimented beautifully with the peperonata. The potatoes were super crispy and the additional churros with gooey chocolate sauce we ordered for dessert was perfection. 🍫Unfortunately the Lamb was really fatty, the small pieces of meat we did get though tasted really nice. The Asparagus, Eggplant and Moreton Bay bugs were quite average.The 10 dishes averaged at around $17 each which in the end seemed abit pricey considering they were all very small. I think the value could have been improved by even just including dessert. My score may have been higher if it wasn’t a set menu because there were some dishes on there i wouldn’t have ordered. I would definitely return again for the A La Carte or to check out the rooftop snack menu.⭐️ 4/5 (Great)

$65 set menu - great food (4/5). I thought it was excellent value for the sheer amount of food and the variety. We also ordered extra bone marrow toast. Service was friendly and approachable and it’s a nice ambience.

I have heard rave reviews about this place so wanted to go for a little while. Only set menu options. The food was good in general but did not enjoy all of it. Entre was great. Loved the jamon and smoked waygu. Bread was dense and soft. Did not enjoy the eggplant and pork belly. By the time the mains came, we were full. Service was great but if they didnt keep changing the servers it would have been better.

Compulsory set menu as we came as a group 6. The complimentary bread was quite salty, infact, a few of the dishes were too salty for our liking. The food came out quickly though. However, I still felt a bit hungry after the set menu, wish dessert was included.

A friend recommended this place so I booked it for my lil sisters birthday dinner and it was absolutely amazing! Had a great view, great food and cocktails, and the staff were so lovely! We ordered the first tapas menu (changed to cater to veganand it was SO DELICIOUS. Would love to go back and try the other tapas option soon!

Visited Bombabar with my partner for his birthday the other week after having an amazing experience earlier in the year with my friend.We choose the first feed me option which included lots of faves including the scallop, croquette, pork belly, salami, lamb & zucchini. To be honest the wasnt anything we didnt like!We also ordered the bone marrow toast which was incredible, a real taste bud thriller!I had the Granada Spritz (mocktailand my partner has the Grain & Bale (cocktail). We both loved the combination of flavours in our drinks.We couldnt recommend this place any higher than we do...do yourself a favour and book ASAP!!!

To be honest when we booked and it was revealed that it would only be set menu, I didnt have high expectations. However, Bomba Bar really surprised me with the quality and tastiness of the food and it was more than enough as well to fill us up. I also ordered the bone marrow on toast to try as I had seen it well reviewed before and must say it was really delicious. Will definitely be coming back for more.

I can’t believe how many times we walked past and have not dined here sooner! Absolutely a place which we’ll return for a good food, drink, vibe, service and value for money. Totes worthy of our 5 ⭐️Lots of vegetarian options in the menu and we ordered almost everything, and there isn’t one we didn’t enjoy. I learnt/tasted so many new veges that night too (from Bomba and our vego frens).With 10 types of tapas/ sides (excl drinks), the bill works out to be under $40 per person. Food was excellent, had mostly small tapas. Everything we had was great, especially the bone marrow on toast.Great place, foods delicious and waiters were attentive, and there’s no extra charge for sparking water!
