Privilege
Mesmerizing architecture. Simply a must-see landmark of the city. Dont leave Moscow without admiring its iconic façade. Near the Kremlin.
MoreFirst visit to Bolshoi Theatre must be always memorable. Fantastic interior just like a palace. Great actors, great voices, great performance. Outstanding orchestra. Bravo!!!
MoreI think it is obvious without any comments - gorgeous, fantastic, very pleasant.
It’s the biggest theatre in moscow. It almost looks like a museum. The place can be easily located. The inside is ginormous. The building from outside looks huge.
MoreIt was my first time visiting any kind of theatre and I visited the finest one, Bolshoi Theatre. We got to see Salome and it was magical. One should definitely visit this once, its a lifetime experience
MoreBolshoi theatre was amazing and Indeed one of the best ballet shows in Europe I must say . Love the show and all talented people performing on stage . Unfortunately I didnt took picture of inside the theatre buy I love the artful show and ballet dance performance of our lovely and awesome russian friends , thank you so much its is really a heaven ♥️🇷🇺 love you Russia and russian buddies 🥂
MoreWatching Swan Lake at the Bolshoi Theatre was the most beautiful artistic experience ever had! A truly superb performance from a dedicated cast of gifted artists all set in the magnificent splendor Bolshoi Theatre. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
MoreLets hope the music is good- very ticket in friendly
So beautiful! The programmes do feature some bits in English. Refreshments inside are on the expensive side.
MoreThis is the second place you must visit (after the red squareif you are in Moscow. This is a historical place of great importance for Russian culture.I recomend to watch the Russian ballet (you will understand the reason of its fame). It is appropriate to wear formal clothes. It is not a requirement but for Russians its customary to dess up for this occasion.
MoreUnforgettable experience. Must see in Moscow. The Bolshoi building, which for many years now has been regarded as one of Moscow’s main sights, was opened on 20 October 1856, on Tsar Alexander II’s coronation day.The Bolshoi Theatre is a symbol of Russia for all time. It was awarded this honor due to the major contribution it made to the history of the Russian performing arts. This history is on-going and today Bolshoi Theatre artists continue to contribute to it many bright pages
MoreA beautiful theatre! Stunning performances!! Has a lift))
Lately I could not review Red Square, because Google maps wrote that Red Square 🟥 is not reviewable. I absolutely agree with that statement. To make my own statement I can say Bolshoi Theatre is not reviewable either. It is a part of history of Russia, Soviet Union and Russia again. There are certain places that can’t be reviewed. You just can express your emotions with exclamation signs 🪧 Absolutely breathtaking! Full of history! Full of culture! The Bolshoi Theatre (Russian: Большо́й теа́тр, tr. Bolshoy teatr, Great Theatre, is a historic theatre in Moscow, Russia, originally designed by architect Joseph Bové, which holds ballet and opera performances. Before the October Revolution it was a part of the Imperial Theatres of the Russian Empire along with Maly Theatre (Small Theatrein Moscow and a few theatres in Saint Petersburg (Hermitage Theatre, Bolshoi (KamennyTheatre, later Mariinsky Theatre and others).
MoreWow! What an historic and beautiful theatre. One of the greatest in the world and a perfect location to see an opera or ballet
MoreWhat is symbolic architecture masterpiece of down town Moscow - Sure Bolshoi theatre! But it is always different and most iconic is Christmas time 🎄 with Schelkunchik ( The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky!New Year time it is always the time of miracles and best Russian classics!👍🎁Visit Moscow and call me to be your guide !
MoreRossini’s “Il viaggio a Reims” was a big surprise for me. I really did not expect it to be as wonderful as it was. The cast with their brilliant voices and costumes were simply amazing. I really DO RECOMMEND everyone going to Moscow to add Bolshoi to their “bucket list”, pack an evening dress and visit this pearl of Moscow theatre scene.
MoreOne of the oldest and most beautiful theaters in the world.. its really really worth it to watch a performance here. But at least you should book on of the theaters organized tours, huge amount of information really interesting stuff to learn about history and culture
MoreBolshoi theatre is the most famous Russian theatre. Not the best of course, but the most prominent.Flamboyant interior decorations in red and gold colours, grandiose chandelier at the historical scene, some rooms looking like a museum expositions: everything is screaming "Luxury!"The tickets are usually around 7000 rubs up to 15000 (Historical stage), but I got one for a special price of 2000 rubs. It was at the highest - 4th level - but in a 1st raw and in the center, so the stage was visible perfectly. My level was in the 7th floor (theres an elevatorso I took a strong binocular, the usual "theatre" one wont help you much at this distance.Very convenient system of having its own dressing room and buffet for each 2 levels avoids the crowd between and after the shows. The minus: Bolshoi theatre does NOT accept credit cards inside!! You have to pay cash for drinks/food and printed programs! This is very inconvenient! Especially considering the fact that a glass of champagne costs around a price of full bottle - 500 rubs. When buying a ticket online you have to insert you passport data and one person cant buy more than 2 tickets. Then you have to personally come and retrieve the ticket from ticket office, that located not in a Bolshoi theatre itself, but across the road, at RAMT. You have to show a passport and A CREDIT CARD that you used while buying the ticket! That is silly considering the fact that they do not accept credit cards in the theatre...Also the cashier lady and guards were speaking rather rude and spoiled the first impression from the most famous Russian theatre.I watched the opera Queen of Spades and it was average, lead singers were nondescript, decorations were simple as well as costumes.I was more impressed by the theatre itself then by the performance.I think you should visit this place to feel the atmosphere and see the magnificence of the building in the 1st place, and only then for the spectacular itself.
MoreEnjoyed this place! Have been in Bolshoi several times and would love to come back! Amazing shows, great actors, must see in Moscow
MoreBeautiful experience! Who didnt hear about the famous Russian ballet? If you are in Moscow Balshoi théâtre its a must!
MoreBolshoi Theatre which is located in the central Moscow is not just a architectural building but a history in itself. The theatre is huge and is so beautifully made not just from inside but from outside also and has a long history. The Russian government spent million of dollars into its renovation and made this a world class theatre. It boasts world class plays and ballet performances and makes an everlasting impact on the viewers. The tickets for ballet performances have to be done in advance otherwise its all reserved.
MoreQuite Impressive from outside, but the real story starts inside. The theater itself is a state of art.Majestic facade with fountains and gardens at front. The auditorium is magnificent, stretches up six levels. You can feel the Soviet style inside and outside. All gold leaf and detailed moulding.Have to purchase tickets in advance through official website. You’re not allowed to take a picture or videos during the performance.
Morelegendary theatre - watched La Esmeralda here but unfortunately the Bolshoi ballet wasnt the one performing. Great performance nevertheless and the interior of the theatre was cosy and amazing.
MoreThe Bolshoi Theatre (Russian: Большо́й теа́тр, tr. Bolshoy Teatr, Big Theatre, IPA: [bɐlʲˈʂoj tʲɪˈatər]is a historic theatre in Moscow, Russia, originally designed by architect Joseph Bové, which holds ballet and opera performances. Before the October Revolution it was a part of the Imperial Theatres of the Russian Empire along with Maly Theatre (Small Theatrein Moscow and a few theatres in Saint Petersburg (Hermitage Theatre, Bolshoi (KamennyTheatre, later Mariinsky Theatre and others).Nearest Metro station is Teatralnay!!!
MoreAs glorious as ever. The theatres interior is luxury on a royal scale.Prices are high (ballets generally more than operasbut production value is incredible, especially for the operas.A bit of a maze to explore at the intervals. Modern cafe on top floor. Small gallery showcasing photos & costumes, but i feel like there could be more, considering the buildings history.I came here first almost 20 years ago when it was almost exclusively foreigners that could afford it. With the change in Moscows growth, it seems the tide has turned with a good mix of locals and foreigners enjoying the arts here.
MoreThe question here is why not 5 stars to the Bolshoi theatre? Well the seat were not confortable and they did not accepted credit cards... besides that the atmosphere you breath in this place speak about legend and tje quality of the performances is superhigh maybe the best in the world!!!!
MoreIts a great experience to see the Bolshoi theater at Moscow....and of course from outside....I tried to get a ticket but I couldnt get that....for which I was so sad...nothing to do....
MoreAwesome theatre (for Opera- was sitting at the main floor, and it was wonderful. Its magnificence can not be stressed and you have to go see it and enjoy the historical importance of it and feel and enjoy the vibe.Find a Opera and get in and feel the Theatre.
MoreWas here for a English building tour. The place itself was amazing and the explanations by the tour guide made it even more educational. Learned some things that I would probably never have known if I just booked a ticket for one of the shows. Luckily, we also got to see some of the rehearsal that was going on.
MoreAbsolute must visit when in Moscow! The theater was gorgeous, the people and the atmosphere felt like ball from a fairytale. The workers could speak both Russian and English. Also don’t forget to visit the bar during the break and try their champagne and mini-cakes, that’s the best experience ever.
MoreIf youre an art lover a must place to see. Dont miss. The tour is 1.500 RUB which takes approximately 1 hour.
MoreA beautiful performing arts hall! If you are into photography this place has several keen photo optical opportunities. If you are thinking of reserving tickets for a show, pick your seats wisely. Too close to the edges of the stage and youll have a hard time seeing the performance fully. Picking the top-most balcony will also leave you standing the whole time because the height of the ledges. If a performance is long enough to warrant refreshments, go to the 7th floor instead of the one on the 2nd floor as its larger and has more options.Make sure you dress your absolute best. This is a place to see and be seen.
MoreStunning historical theatre. It just screams class and luxury, from a time when people would dress up for a night at the theatre. I was lucky enough to attend a performance of the Nutcracker on the main stage. And I was delighted to see that so many (not allof the audience were dressed to the standard this beautiful theatre deserves.
MoreIm not into ballet. I wanted the full Moscow experience and heard that I must visit the Bolshoi theatre. Im not going to lie, it was impressive. Newly renovated this building is pretty impressive.
MoreAmazing experience, I wish wed see the ballet, but we only got tickets to an opera, not bad but not my style.
MoreBolshoi theatre is one of the most famous and well decorated theatre of Russia . It is well worth the visit either as an excursion or for a performance. However both tickets for excursion or performance had to booked way in advance. For an excursion, its best to book a private tour weeks in advance. Or else the only way is to line up outside the theatre before the box office opens on 11am on monday, Wednesday and Friday. The spaces for the excursions are limited so theres no guarantee you can get in.
MoreI saw the Swan lake in this magnificent theater and it should be on the bucket list of every lover of the arts. I do not know about lesser known operas/ballet performances but the tickets for the big ones can sell out months in advance and I highly recommend buying the tickets well in advance.I strongly recommend dressing up well when in Bolshoi because the others do and they have an advisory on what not to wear when in the Bolshoi on the website.I am giving it a 4 only for the extremely high priced food and drinks during the breaks. I remember seeing some tourists leave the line after seeing the prices. Also, the toilets were smaller than what I had expected. If you have booked a ticket online, you will have to exchange the voucher for the actual ticket up to 30 minutes before the show. I got my ticket a day in advance and the box office was difficult to find at first. You need to go through the entrance at the extreme right corner of the building. I do not remember seeing a sign for the box office counter. Fortunately a gentleman in front of the big white door was courteous enough to just say the words "box office" and then pointed his finger towards the door!
MoreOne of the best theaters in the world, the shows are incredible and the architecture as well . I was lucky to buy a ticket from a Russian man outside and made him come with me to the doors to be sure that its valid and asked about the price inside, be careful about that. I attended a Mozart opera for two hours straight, I would prefer to make a rest in between for drinks but I enjoyed it a lot.
MoreExcelent! The Onegin ballet was simply great. Perfect performance. The building itself is a masterpiece too. We took a guided tour through the building which was very informative and gave us a good insight into the history and present of the theatre. Highly recommended!
MoreOne of most beautiful opers houses Ive been to in the world. Get tickets if you can but sold out in weeks in advance. They alhave morning tours for 1500 rbl which is totally worth it.
MoreBeautiful venue. Right next to the metro and easy to reach. Close walk to red square and shopping districtwith high end fashion and bars. People in the venue ate really helpful if you do not speak Russian. Intermission food and drinks are cash only.
MoreWonderful experience for either opera or ballet. The historic (mainstage is impressive and beautifully decorated. Try to book in advance from the official site. The prices of the official website are super reasonable particularly when taking in consideration the quality of the performances. The entry to the venue is really fast and easy.
MoreI saw the ballet performance in this placeㅋ. You have to be aware of there are three halls in this theater and those are in the different building. You should book the opera or show in the historic hall not the new hall. I saw the performance in the new hall. It was just amazing. I will visit to see the performance in the historic hall.
MoreStunning place, all the decoration is magnificent. I recommend the historical stage is huge and full of artistic details. Is worth to pay for ballet or opera. We watch the Nutcraker ballet with my husband and was an amazing experience.
MoreSuch a beautiful place.Went for the tour and our guide was great. At the end of the tour while we were still getting ready, a security guard rudely told us to got out of the place quickly. Such a bad experience to end an awesome tour.
MoreGreat place, many staffs are able to speak English and very helpful. Actually have 3 seperate buildings with 3 different stages. If you come here for show, I recommend you to arrive around 60 mins before it starts. They have great performance and you better book it via online.
MoreA nice old historical piece of art!.. I enjoyed the ballet theatre there.. try to buy tickets as soon as possible because you may miss cheaper seats.. fantastic experience!..
MoreAn evening out in the grand theatre is worth the trip and a unique experience when visiting Moscow.
MoreTickets are more affordable if you get not the main place, but historic or another. Performance are still great. Book in advance. There are ballet translations in front of the theater in summer.
MoreBeautiful building. Its neoclassical facade is a landmark of Moscow and Russia. It pictured on the Russian 100-ruble banknote.
