Bolivian Popular Food - South American restaurant in La Paz, Bolivia
Bolivian Popular Food in La Paz
Description
Privilege
This restaurant is very impressive. Some wonderful twists and takes on Bolivian food and up there with some of my favourite meals ever. And for a tiny fraction of the price you’d pay in fine dining and experimental restaurants in London etc. Don’t miss it if in La Paz - and choose to sit at the bar as you get to see all the dishes that they make!
MoreGreat place for lunch!! Portions were perfect and quality above expectations. Happy to recommend it!!!
MoreVery good quality and quantity! The presentation of food adds immensely to the joy.
MoreDon’t visit La Paz without stopping here for lunch. Amazing food & great service!
MoreThis is definitely one of the best restaurant I tried in Latinamerica. For the price of around $14 you get a full course meal of highly elevated bolivian food. You will definitely spend a fortune to get that level of culinary experience in other countries!
MoreJust to confirm its good reviews. This place hit the perfect spot. Combining local ingredients with outstanding presentation and and friendly prices. The menu is not super extended but every dishes delicious and at that price point you cant complain. Its a busy restaurant but service is fast and the waitress super friendly. You get complementary fruit juice but you have a nice selection of wine and craft beers.Shame that they only open for lunch.
MoreThe perfect mix of textures. balance of unique flavors, range of temperatures, table-side sauce-drizzeled presentations, exotic, fresh, and healthy ingredients -- verbal descriptions cannot adequately explain thus culinary experience. Let me put it this way: Ive been hanging out with 20 Foodies for two weeks and I havent bothered to review any place because were just too busy eating and recovering. If you read my reviews then you know I reserve 5-stars for true excellence. This place is 10-stars.Definitely the best restaurant I ate at in Bolivia and we went to some top-notch places. Its cool because its super busy and really active and crowded and you can see into the kitchen where 20 people are running wild in an organized fashion, and the food is delectable and the presentation amazing. Comparable to a five star Michelin restaurant. And our server was awesome: I accidentally dropped six US $100 bills on the floor and he just picked it up and gave it to me, even though I didnt notice for a long time. Needless to say I gave him a huge tip.
MoreGreat experience, tasty food and very friendly staff!!! If you go through La Paz, this is an address not to be missed!
MoreProbably the best lunch I’ve ever had (in general, not just in Bolivia), very high quality and amazing value for money. Well worth the wait!!
MoreWe went there to have a lunch : it is highly recommended to either book in advance, or be there among the firsts as it is quickly full. The place is kind of hidden, and it is quite small, but the experience is great. The menu, that changes frequently, is well prepared and very affordable. Thats a must do in La Paz!
MoreBest price quality worldwide. A must do in La Paz. Michelin like restaurant for 10€…
MoreThis is certainly one of the best food experiences I’ve ever had. You have to arrive early, but the staff is friendly and transparent. The combinations of flavours and the explanation of everything is incredible. They also have Bolivian wines, that goes perfectly with the food. The price is also incredible! A must go in La Paz
MoreIts one of my favorite places to eat traditional Bolivian food with style..They try to represent the traditional restaurant from the local market but in a high cousin. They can speak English too.
MoreWorldclass! A local friend recommended us this place.Young, fresh, local cuisine with ingredients from Bolivia.A jar of fresh juice in addition.Loved it. Came here twice. In the Last 6 months the best experience! Thanks & keep going
MoreThe best food in La Paz! Gourmet experience but not pricey. The food was really really good. We were served a soup, main dish (meat or vegetarian), a dessert and fresh juice. They also have a great selection of Bolivian wines, if you want to add it to your meal.Presentation of the food is excellent and overall ambience of the place is very enjoyable. The staff is nice, energetic and very knowledgeable about their work.
MoreInteresting flavors, good value 3 course meal with a drink. They use local ingredients to make nice local food. I felt the food looked much better than it tasted, unfortunately.I give it a 4 because I understand they change the menu every day and the overall experience was good.
MoreDelicious and unique!
A must in La Paz. According to me the best lunch experience in the city. Great staff, presentation, taste and setting. They change their menu once a week.
MoreExcellent cuisine at unbeatable prices. Dishes are beautifully designed and seeing the staff working behind the bar is mesmerizing.
MoreReservation is highly recommended, since it is extremely popular in La Paz. Delicious and nicely presented food. The best restaurant in city center.
MoreSuper artistic and tasty. You have to try it if in La Paz. The only thing is that they only do lunch so it’s very very busy. But the food is worth it!
MoreOne of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Three course lunch of amazing flavors for 10 dollars. Each course has two options and there is an appetizer and fresh juice too. If you are one or two, opt to sit at the bar, it is really half of the experience to watch the chefs in action!
MorePossibly the prettiest food Ive ever eaten in my life, and delicious too! Authentic Bolivian. Great attention to detail. Its amazing food and it only cost me 100 BS including a glass of wine. The menu is limited to only a few options for each course. Staff will explain the options in detail. I wish Id discovered this restaurant sooner during my stay in La Paz - I would have gone back to try other dishes!
MoreBest restaurant in the city! If you want to try typical Bolivian dishes with a gourmet twist then you should definitely try this place. The flavour, textures and presentation combinations are just amazing. Plus, you pay affordable prices for what you get.Only con I found was that I couldnt pay by card. So, make sure to bring some cash with you. Current prices are about 10$ per person for an entree, main dish, dessert and a drink.
MoreHands down the best fine dining experience I have had in South America. The ambiance is very casual but the food and service is very professional.
MoreWonderful place to eat Bolivian cuisine in a gourmet fashion, although in big quantities. You come out full and happy for 10$. This includes bread and llajua, an entrée, main dish, and dessert. Their plates are very elaborate with a wonderful presentation. The flavors are delicious. Theres a weekly menu with two or three options for each dish. Its always full, and you have to get there at 11:45 if you want to get in.
MoreOne the best gourmet experiences in the city, this place has a way to express local cuisine in ways that cannot be found in alternative establishments, food is truly great, the meny varies from time to time so you should visit often, youre more than likely to be pleasantly surprised each and every time — also, you wont spend much, the prices are not prohibitive for the quality on display here. Its also worth mentioning that the restaurant is located on the historic city centre, relatively small location but comfortable and amenable. The staff is also kind and attentive.
MoreMy favorite experience in La Paz! Went there more than three years ago but still thinking abt that meal constantly. Delicious and beautifully plated food that showcase local flavors with a creative twist, such a feast for both your tastebuds and your eyes! Love the vibe and staff there as well, super friendly and cozy. I’d eat there everyday if I could :)
Moreone of my fave in la paz! really cheap fine dining for the great quality of food and service. We took whatever they recommend including the drinks to pair it with and everything was just so good plus they change menu every week. Would definitely dine here more often if we could and if it werent for the time constraints as they are only open for lunch. We truly enjoyed the experience.
MoreAah! If you want to try bolivian cuisine in a gourmet kind of way, go dine here! And its affordable! Loved the staff too, you can really tell that they like what they do!
MoreA must if you come to La Paz. Traditional food transformed in a whole new style. Service is extremely good and the flavors will satisfy your appetite.
MoreFor a deluctable meal, look no further.I read positive things about this restaurant, so we decided to give it a shot.We have nothing but great things to say about this place, the employees, ambience and of course the food.We arrived about 45 minutes before opening and there was already about 20 people ahead of us. The anticipation was killing us.I live plantains and since it was one of the items on the menu, I couldnt wait to see and taste this particular dish!To our surprise the 3 course meal even included a drink. There were two options, so we had one each and they both had nice flavours. The starter: Platano Relleno (stuffed plantain), was amazing. My mother makes an El Salvador version called Empanadas de Platano and I absolutely love them. She doesnt need to know that this dish was exquisite!!!The Main: Mondongo (pork), was delicious. It was accompanied by other goodies to which I have no recollection of the names or compositions, but I can tell you that it was eaten pretty quick.Dessert: Bueñuelo, was pretty good as well.It was like a donut, with ice cream and other dried fruits along with a marmelade. The server explained each dish, but I just couldnt wait for everything to get in my belly 😋The servers were fabulous, very attentive and efficient. This restaurant is a super great value for your money.I highly recommend and only wish I had found this sooner, so we could have one more meal there.
MoreFood and service are incredible and I’m deeply impressed. They do 3-course set lunch (no dinner, sorryeveryday (same menu). All those dishes are seasoned perfectly, presented beautifully and plated with love.At a price of 10USD, one would struggle to find a better option. A must visit when you are in La Paz!
MorePretty good food and nice service I would highly suggest this place if you are around La Paz city, but be sure to be there at 11:30 12:00 because it gets full really fast
MoreAmazing amazing food. Three course meal for only 65 BOB. Top notch service as well. Definitely not one to miss if you are in La Paz.
MoreYea best value for money restaurant in all La paz about 65bolivianos for 3 course meal with refreshments
MoreThe best restaurant we could have done in Bolivia, so far. This is a Bolivian restaurant but with a new vision of it.Just check the pictures, incredible. Tasty.Waiters speak English also. One menu is set per week. So locals can come every week to taste the new menu! 2 choices per dish. There is only a single menu at 65bob (cv 10usd), with 3dishes + non alcoholic drink.A must do. Dont leave la Paz without trying it!
MoreFood: 9/10Service: 9/10Value: 8/10Atmosphere: 8/10The best I’ve had in Bolivia so far! Both the plating and the taste were fantastic. Also the best service I’ve had so far here. They have a set 3 course lunch menu for 65BOB (they could honestly charge quite a bit morewhich changes daily. Unlimited bread and fresh juice is also included. When you come, I would recommend arriving here early. The restaurant starts serving food at 12:30pm. We arrived at 12pm on a weekday and half of the restaurant had already filled up.
More3 course gourmet lunch for 65b! Get there before 12 to put your name down on the list or be prepared to wait though...
MoreReally like the place. Unassuming, casual place, but the presentation of the food is totally fine dining style. Would only reduce half a star coz the service is a little slow, but this place also gets packed so get in line at 12 noon for the 12:30 pm opening. I’ll add the half star back for presentation and how amazingly they serve.Great food, and always with vegan/vegetarian options. The menu is 65 Bs with an appetizer, main course, dessert, and fruit juice. Presentation is absolutely gorgeous, and the taste is on par.
MoreCame here after reading the reviews. They dont lie. Place was brilliant with 5 star level food. Awesome hosts too. Got here at 2pm on a Friday and did not have to wait.Prices are also very cheap. 3 courses for what I would pay for a basic takeaway meal back home!
MoreAmazing food. Great service. English speaking staff.
Amazing experience! Best dining experience in La Paz, very reasonable pricing!
Wow. This place is amazing. We arrived actually the moment the kitchen was about to close and were still offered to get our lunch. I don’t know how it’s possible to serve such a food quality in every of the three courses for that price. But they do; and with passion. There’s a nice vegetarian option. One of the owners just loves wine and may recommend you some special ones. Only issue is getting a table, which kind of speaks for itself... Thanks a lot.
MoreBolivian fusion food, delicious. Nice service, warm and personalized. They have a vegan option on the menu. The only tip is to be there really early because the line can take up to 1.5 hours. Try.to be there at 11:30am if you want to avoid long lines.
MoreThe best restaurant I experienced in Bolivia! The menu was incredible at highlighting local produce and the mix of Bolivian flavors. The menu changes each Monday, but I would go back in a heartbeat to see what they are serving up. It is a steal for three courses and has great staff. It is a restaurant that will fill up as soon at its doors open for lunch so make sure you get there before it opens or be prepared to wait (it is worth it though).
MoreExtraordinary food and service! Amongst the Top2 restaurants of my 6 months trip through South America!!
MoreBest restaurant in Bolivia! Much better then Gustu. BPF exceeds all expectations with it’s ridiculously good value for money and innovative take on traditional Bolivian cuisine. Please go. You won’t be disappointed.
MoreMe and my visited there for lunch during our travel to Lap Paz. This is an amazing restaurant with great food and personalized service. Its a much visit in La Paz.
MoreGreat place for those who havent tried Bolivian food before in an amazing new way. Their menu costs 50 bs and comes with a fixed menu of a starter, main dish and a desert. Two options of each to choose from. The beverage is included. They change them on a weekly basis so you will always be surprised. In addition, they serve local and artisanal drinks. The mango beer ale I tried was awesome!Highly recommended!
