Bolero Brasserie - Restaurant in Hamilton, Bermuda
Can I just say that we absolutely LOVED Bolero and Jay & Haley were absolutely amazing at what they do. They were running the whole place by themselves and took our party of 8 extremely last minute with a rush at the same time. Our service was absolutely out of this world and they made the very first day of our trip fantastic. Not only that, but the food was amazing. Totally unlike anything else on the island you can find for dinner so I really recommend coming at least once. This will now be a yearly stop for us and thank you again for giving us such an amazing night!
First time in a while that we have been to Bolero, but lovely as always. Food quality is superb and service was excellent (attentive not overbearing). Will be going back for sure, and wont leave it so long this time.
Absolutely wonderful dining. From the moment one walks into the “side entrance’ and walks up the stairs then sees the intimate decor, one knows they are in for something special. Everyone from the hostess to servers, to the manager makes you feel so welcome. Then, the menu! Can one chef do all this? No, but head chef Jonny Roberts must have a brigade of masters. They all create magic. The freshest of ingredients, taste combinations and sensations are out of this world-And this was just the Tapas! Bolero was an amazing place for my wife and I to spend a quiet, romantic, and unbelievably delicious 25th. Anniversary! Bravo Bolero and thanks so much Chef Roberts.
Food is really spectacular (octopus and shrimp were especially fantastic). Cocktails and service were great as well. Definitely a great spot if you are in Hamilton!
Delicious tapas plates as well as full dinners. Service is really friendly.
Transport yourself to Spain in this heavenly restaurant that nailed every dish we ordered. Wonderful staff, lovely room and a fantastic wine list. Also. All you vegans out there - they have a separate tapas menu focused on vegan fare that was every bit as delicious as their classic items, making this restaurant way more on top of current appetites than many restaurants in NYC.
Some of the best tapas Ive ever had. (And yes, Ive been to Madrid. :))
Great service and great food
Fantastic food!
This is me and my husbands annicwesaey spot, but we also went for Valentines Day. They changed their menu a touch, and everything was still incredible. The food was perfect, the atmosphere relaxing, not too loud, but not too quiet you felt you had to whisper. Always will recommend this restaurant for dinner and now tapas!
I wish we had a Bolero back here in the UK! Wow! The food here is absolutely incredible - sharing plates all packed with flavour. The passion of the team was infectious and they were so helpful guiding us through the menu. A definite must visit!
Fantastic tapas style menu
The world needs more places like this. Carefully curated menu with unique plates and food pairings while staying true to authentic Spanish cuisine. Great experience.
We were in Bermuda on a cruise ship overnight and found our way to Bolero in Hamilton. What a wonderful spot with Spanish tapas. We ordered and shared numerous small plates including pan con tomate which we paired with Jamon Iberico, clams in white wine and garlic, mussels in white wine and garlic, patatas bravas and the wonderful shrimp in a spicy garlic sauce, artichokes with manchego and manchego for dessert! The Manager/Server/Bartender, Jay, could not have been more pleasant, professional and efficient, serving the entire room..We highly recommend this spot to locals and travelers alike. It made our night in Bermuda very special!
Great food and fabulous service. Love my recipe book too.
Excellent food, service, ambiance. Modern cuisine that is well prepared. Good wine list. I cannot say enough about their passion for food. It was evident in all of our dishes.
We decided to try the take-out option of Boleros bodacious burgers... we opted for The Classic and The Rubicon. Holy moly!! The burgers (and frieswere AMAZING!! Absolutely DELICIOUS and definitely bodacious!! I am already dreaming of having mine - The Rubicon - again... and of giving the Twenty O Seven a try too!! Bursting with flavours!! We highly recommend you give them a try!
Nice spot. Specials are always good.
The service was unnecessarily pretentious considering the restaurant was empty. The hostess was rude, they never read us the specials, the food was salty and overpriced... the wine was good.
I was lucky enough to find out about this local gem from a longtime Bermuda resident. It is the place to go if you are looking for outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. In fact, my husband and I enjoyed Bolero so much that we ate there three times during our recent visit to the island. The owner, Jonny Roberts, is also the chef! Well-recognized on the island for his skill, the food did not disappoint. We enjoyed prosciutto with artichokes, local rockfish, shrimp, and watercress Caesar salad, just to mention a few items. Jonny and his sous chef, Chops, do ALL the cooking. Amazing! The dining room runs like a well-oiled machine. Marian and Nicholas have worked at Bolero for years and are incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about both the cuisine and the excellent wine list. If you are looking for a creative rum or champagne cocktail, Sean, the bartender, will make sure not to disappoint. Located on the 2nd floor of a lovely old building on Front Street, care has been put into the decor, with interesting artwork created by Jonnys wife and friends. Such love has been put into this restaurant that it is no wonder locals fill the dining room for both lunch and dinner. Im just so glad that we discovered Bolero and well certainly return on our next trip!
This restaurant was extremely disappointing. It came highly recommended from various people we encountered on our trip. Unfortunately, we were provided a less than satisfactory experience. Our group is from right outside New York City and have experienced many high end restaurants. This restaurant does not even qualify to be middle tier simply based on service and food quality. The portions were extremely small and disappointing for the price. I ordered the steak and was unhappy with the flavorless “sauce” they provided. Additionally, I requested to have truffle fries rather than regular fries. I do not mind paying a surcharge but it is customary to let the customer know, however I was not told and they were very rude when I asked for an explanation as to why I was being charged. The service itself was absolutely awful. Our waiter only refilled our water glasses once (and since all the food was overly salty - we all were left thirsty the majority of the meal). Anytime we made a request of our waiter acted as if it were a bother. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting and cannot understand why it is so highly rated.
I have been here many times before and I would happily rate it 5 stars, the service was great but the food was unfortunately a let down this time, not seasoned and bland. I recommended the place to my wife and was let down. Hopefully it was a one off
Beautiful restaurant with a view of the ocean. Delicious drinks. Menu is small but with good options. The salads looked amazing. Started with the shrimp appetizer which was garlicky and delicious with bread. The octopus was properly cooked but paired with bland boiled sliced potatoes with paprika. The short ribs were tender and the carrot salad was well dressed. The dessert was unfortunately very disappointing. The honey special was a scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone, placed in a drink glass, with pieces of Crunchie sprinkled on top. Awkward to eat at a fine dining restaurant and lacking creativity and finesse I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
Fantastic food. Could not fault anything from our meal. Original dishes and so delicious. Waiters were so friendly and helpful with recommendations. Lovely chilled vibe with complementary Spanish music in the background. So unexpected as go down a simple alley to enter the restaurant. We had the prawn pil pil, the special cold asparagus, goats cheese and truffle oil soup, the cauliflower entree, octopus and chorizo entree and finished with the honeycomb ice cream and an espresso martini. A must go for your time in Bermuda.
Great food as ever enjoyed the piri piri shrimp and fettuccine special. Good buzz thoroughly enjoyed
Really great place. Strong drinks, Nicholas the head waiter was very attentive.
Fantastic food. Slow service but thats all part of the experience. We had a party of 7 and dinner took over 2 hours but everyone talked about their food for days!
Hard pass. Too many great restaurants with MUCH better service in this area. Waited 25 minutes at our table without a server taking our order. Other tables had their appetizers delivered, ate them and the plates cleaned off the table, while we sat there watching and waiting to place our order.Ask for the check for our drinks so we could leave......another 10 minute wait. The manager should have comped our 2 drinks but of course he didnt. We a few doors down and had an outstanding experience.
Nice dinner in a nice place in Bermuda. Very good food and wine
One of my favorite restaurants in Bermuda!
I would say Bolero was one of the only restaurants in Hamilton worth recommending. A lot of the other Front Street venues are beer and burgers or bland international cuisine (you know, overcooked sea bass fillet on some crushed potatoes Bolero has consistently well prepared quality dishes served by friendly staff. And the wine list is quite good as well.
Quaint off the grid spot with cuisine that will have you licking your lips. Trendy and stylish ambience. Likely a little understaffed because I poured wine for the table on several occasions however nothing that would keep from coming back.
The food was delicious and the service was great but I am not sure it is worth the price. In New York or London you can get Michelin star restaurants for the same money or less
Good food, good atmosphere. Go have fun
Exactly what the doctor ordered. A hidden gem where we ordered a delicious, light lunch of salad and fish sandwiches with prosecco overlooking the water!
Delicious food, friendly service, nicely designed interior with A/C, and a few tables on the balcony overlooking the harbor. Specialty cocktails and reasonably priced wine list were also excellent.
Great fried octopus!
This place was average at best. Honestly just go down to the street vendors during Harbor Night and get street food. The place smelled like mold and wait staff werent very nice or attentive. I dont get why this place is so loved and admired. We picked it originally because it was the only place we could find that was reasonably priced that didnt only feature the wedding selections of "chicken fish or beef". But after a $35 hanger steak and a $30 fish and chips id rather eat street meat or go to the swizzle inn. This place is a waste of your time unless you are looking for a restaurant to just throw your money away at.
The escargot cooked with garlic delivered in a small cast iron pot was to die for. The lemon cheesecake with sea salt served on a slab of slate and garnished with fresh berries was delectable. Service was excellent and friendly, the atmosphere, elegant yet relaxed. Loved this restaurant.
I didn’t go in with high expectations but I left very much impressed with the quality of the food a long with the service. For being in even more pricey than normal downtown Front street I was pleased with the experience. They knew how to make great French food.
Great food, great customer service! Prices are quite high
Had a great time!
Excellent.Staff very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. Had the seared tuna special and tiger shrimp both were great.Adding in some truffle fries for the table never hurt anyone!
On Front Street but the entrance is tucked in the alley. Walk up the stairs to the cozy dining area. On most recent trip had a fresh watermelon, feta and rocket salad
Creative menu and preparation Friendly service.
Limited menu that constantly changes, plesant environment
Meh. Ordered a $30 burger med rare, of course it came to the table med +. Beef was mealy and dry. My scotch pour was measured by a thimble. Not impressed at all.
Friendly professional staff, perfectly prepared interesting dishes, nice atmosphere.
Amazing food here, really nice balcony to eat on as well. Best Ive had in Bermuda so far.
BEST Restaurant on the Island - chef owned so you know its always fresh and good.
