Cabot Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 4QT, El Dorado
Traditional Scottish restaurant with whisky and oyster bar, a cigar terrace and nightly live music.
Had a good steak with an extensive but expensive wine menu. Went straight for mains as nothing on the starters jumped out, especially as we werent in the mood for haggis. Service was average and had to sit outside in the cold terrace as there wasnt space inside, though it was very noisy inside anyway.Did enjoy a good cigar though and will return to visit again because of that. Hopefully will get to try out the restaurant area next time.
This visit was a birthday gift. Hil St. Soul were the act on stage on this occasion and what a great performance from them.Food was top quality, but they couldve allowed a little bit of time between courses. Staff were attentive without being pushy and overall a great night out for a special occasion. To round the evening off, we went down to the Whiskey Bar and partied a little longer thanks to the MiSoul DJ playing the tunes π
A huge thank you to Martin and his team for a wonderful evening. The second floor music venue, ambience, and location were perfect, the music was sublime.Table service was impeccable. My guests were extremely impressed. If you want a memorable and special night with sterling entertainment, then Boisdale, Canary Wharf is the place for you.
Food slightly better than S.W.3 branch of Boisdale. But sadly sound of the venue was far too loud. And screeching microphones. We kindly asked them to lower the sound b4 main show. They did.Perhaps there sound person was on a rest day.Even the 3 degrees noticed the sound was too loud.Bless them.A pleasant eve.lovely views. Was hard to find our minicab. But black taxi directed us.Phew! Big place.
Live music and great food! Really busy, bit the army of staff kept things moving along really efficiently. Some great names appearing soon, so need to go back!
Beautiful place, great food and amazing service. A shout out to Yashika who provided great service including suggesting dishes to us.Ambience is great. We went for dinner early at 6:30pm. But from 9pm they have live music.Have a bar on first floor as well. Book in advance else you might not get a place.Recommend their chicken Shintzel.
Great vibes, nice tasting food, cool music and nice venue. Definitely up there on the price tags of the food and show but live music was π.Only downfall I would say would be potentially sort out the speakers and microphone being used as the singer talking was hard to hear at times. But overall, good experience! Other half was happy!
Staff were pleasant and friendly, food nice, steak lovely, forgot to bring bread out with smoked salmon and then brought it when had finished the starter, they did apologise though. Not much atmosphere until the restaurant stared to get bit busier.
Lovely atmosphere music was really good, place was packed out even though I came by myself am so gold I did met two lovely ladies who sat at the table with me. I really enjoyed myself. Was my birthday on the Monday so I thought I would go out and celebrate with some music and dancing, The staff were very friendly, and helpful, that is one of the things i look for. I am so glad I did come and will definitely come back again. ππ½ππ½ππ½ππ½πΆπ΅
Great rum Cocktails here. Great place for smokers - cider lounge. Friendly staff. Shame about the noisy demonstration!! (OK really)
Boisdale is a wonderful place. Nice decor and delicious food. Atmosphere is also amazing. Defo an intimate spot for two! A must if at least once!
5βοΈGreat roof top wine bar with a fantastic view.Atmosphere was lovely and of all ages starting from 25 upwards. Everyone was friendly and staff were really helpful. The music was fantastic playing some great classic soul tunes from back in the day. Everyone on the dance floor was out to enjoy themselves and have a good night. Will definitely go there again and would definitely recommend
I and my partners hidden gem. Always lovely here and a particular member of staff always goes above and beyond, we love him! Keep forgetting his name though, hes in charge of the members and cigar bar I believe! Lovely spot, good vibes
Seated in the Bar and Grill. Food good. But nothing else to recommend. Sent badly between floors, slow service, lack of attention, poor value in an expensive restaurant.
On this occasion, Boisdale wasnt as great as it couldve been. The featured artist, Luciano, was brilliant. Vocals, tone, band, all excellent. However, Boisdale packed up every available standing room with as many tables and chairs as could fit - they were behaving as if they were pub on karaoke night as opposed to a high end entertainment venue. It was very disappointing - then having some badly cut up pieces of paper asking patrons to dance in place and try not to block other folks behind - impossible to do with over-cramped layout. So this time around Boisdale, you chased the pound and cheapened your brand (its not like it was cheap to begin with). Also, wherever you go to dine, always ask your server if they get their tips
Fantastic Friday evening. Went for a meal with friend to celebrate his 50th birthday. Also to hear the MiSoul DJβs. Friendly staff. Great food. Great music.
I paid Β£58 for a show and Β£34 for 2 drinks to go look at a pillar. The seats I booked were window seats it mentioned nowhere that there is no view to the stage at all. I looked at a pillar the entire time. Left early , told staff why, they werent bothered. This was our one treat for the month and floetry is my favourite . Absolutely gutted. I did not see the performing artist at all! Just on a screen.
Britanya is an amazing waitress, after bartender got out drinks wrong she sorted out everything. She served us all night and she is very attentive I would recommend this place to my friends.
Went for a music night. Food, service and drinks were great. Steak excellent. Music presentation very good, with excellent sound quality making it a really good small venue for some music with or without dinner
Dinner and Show deals You cant beat them... Very cost effective. Pleasant Staff. exquisite menu. Very Expensive Drinks. πΎπ₯πΉπΈπΊBeautiful Dinning experience. Lively Concert Atmosphere.More Photos to Come...
Came for Sunday lunch. Three courses Β£39 so not over the top.Starter was asparagus with hens egg. Nice but soooomuch water on the plate and menu didnβt mention mushrooms.Other half had the foie gras / chicken liver pΓ’tΓ©, definitely more chicken but anyway. That was lovely and the chutney lovely.Main was roast beef. βRan out of potatoesβ so we were served chips!!! Roast dinner with chips π³Not enough gravy (watery). Veg not peeled. Yorkshire puddings like theyβd been air fried for three weeks.Cheeseboard okay. Sorbet okay. Canβt really mess those up tbh.Not once did we have a check back on any course.Annoying man playing his phone on full volume next to us.Staff miserable.Jazz and venue are perfect. Service and deliverance not good at all. Solid 2/5Would we come back? No.
Great service, fantastic food, and live music (a bit loud)
If you love live entertainment, good food and a very warm welcome, then you must give this place a try. Was my first time here. Would definitely be back
Food was excellent (foie gras and bisque to start, haggis and sea bass for mains and sticky toffee pudding to shareas were the drinks but the overall experience was lacking. Had to wade through an obnoxious party to get to our table, waiting staff werent exactly present and the floor shook with the base coming from the terrace below.
Lovely venue, great atmosphere, food lovely. Went to see Alexandra ONeal, very disappointing only sang 4 songs , and the backing singers sang most of them with him accompanying them . His voice wasnt so good.
Went to Alexander ONeil here on Saturday. Really disappointed - he done a 40 minute set which included a break - mumbled his way through the songs - not good. Food at the venue was good but its started to look a bit shabby in there and not really worth thd money now. There are many better places to visit. Also the standard 13.5% service charge for very basic service is really not worth it.
A friend and I had a fantastic evening.I cannot think of a better way to have spent World Whiskey Day this year, than with a 100 page whiskey menu, sitting next the impressive whiskey bar itself. That night was certainly one to remember, and the service was one of the main reasons; we were looked after, and never left wanting.A special thanks to Samuel; he was so attentive, ensuring we were having a great time, trying so many of the whiskeys. When our reservation was up, he asked if we preferred to stay, and was able to move us to a spare table to continue our evening. He also convinced us to stay for the show, The Definitive Rat Pack. Fantastic!Malika was a great help too, suggesting a few of her favourites, and evening bringing the bottles over for us to see. Both warm, and friendly people, even with the busy night it was.We will absolutely be coming again!
The service was excellent. Staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and friendly. 1st time out in a good few months. My good lady was truly impressed. Will come back again soon. Thanks So Much For An Enjoyable Evening π΅β€οΈπ
Average service and average food. More like a pub filled up with business ppl.
Great vibe and live jazz on stage. Its great to have some drinks there, but maybe the food is a little overpriced for the quality.I ordered Haggis balls and it was okay, and my partner ordered a chicken fillet but I would say it wasnβt impressive. Overly fried and I could taste old oil.I would rate this place to be βgood for drinks and musicβ, but for a proper dining experience, I think it can do a little better job.
Avoid this place. Rude staff and overpriced drinks. Worst part is - they charge arbitrarily on bar counter (20 pounds for Gin Martini instead of 13 mentioned in the menuand then come up with excuses to justify. Thatβs just misrepresentation and fraud. If you want to charge 20, mention 20 in the menu. Period!
Booked at 5:30 and were told we would have the table until 7:30 but the first 30 mins was not served and we suffered badly from the sound check and the singers nasty voice. Wonder why they did not do the sound check before the restaurant is open for customers . This bothers customers who come early with something that isnt music. The waitress asked us "how is your evening?". We responded "very average so far" but she did not seem to show any concern or try to ask what they could do for us. We went downstairs to wait until the sound check was finished but no staff took the water to us while were waiting. Just very bad service. Wont be back
What can I say? Absolutely amazing night out. Great food. Great atmosphere. You get what you pay for. Amazing show and Grace our host and waitress is an asset to the venue. I would definitely go again if an act catches my attention. If you want a fun, safe night out then I highly recommend Boisdale.
When you talk about experience , this place the staff and service I cant rate highly enough. Impeccable. Every single member. The vibe , we loved it. Just chill n enjoy. Its not its when I come back. Respec to all , saxon sound smashed it.
We went for African music night and dinner at Boisdale. From greeting to seating, service and food, everything was superb. Enjoyed it!
Disappointed. Awful decor. Tasteless steak. There was no potato left on the overcooked chips. Broccoli was undercooked. Sauces accompanying the steak were disgusting. I did not bother with dessert. I do not understand why people would eat here⦠. Not even the staff look like they want to be at the venue. Avoid.
Really enjoyed the disco infused bank for Scottish burns week. The dinner menu consisted of Scottish cuisine. All very well prepared with good presentation.Drinks were punching, I stuck to the original cocktails. The cigar room is quaint, but quite enjoyable. Attentive staff! A well rounded selection of Cuban, and Domenica Republic cigars to mention. Music carried on until 2 am with a DJ downstairs.
Great night out, primarily went to see The Brand New Heavies but the food was amazing and the drink selection was fantastic, particularly the whisky as you would imagine. Slightly pricey though so wouldnβt be a regular night out.
SHOUT OUT TO FLORIANNA! Three of us dined, for an experience evening filled with music and fun (on a school night too ;Oit was my aunts birthday, and I joined her and my uncle for a live Whitney Houston tribute show by a gorgeous singer, Janine J, who was fabulous! But I must say, the reason I feel compelled to write a note on here is because, of the wonderful attentive, superb quality table service, customer experience and overall incredible hospitality by waitress, Florianna. Felt safe and welcomed and for any rum drinkers, this is the SPOT! Beautiful views over canary wharfs iconic Cabot square too. Near station and other bars and situated in the shopping centre (smack bang outside Zara for my fellow shoppers). Awesome time and thanks again to Florianna, keep her at all costs! ππΎπ
Lovely place but might be worth taking a second mortgage to pay for drinks Β£14 for one little but very nice cocktail (a mary pickfordas for the food was lovely but again overpriced but guess being in canary wharf prices wont be cheap
Excellent service, great atmosphere and exceptional food. Possibly one of the most extensive whisky menus in London - ask for the bible. Food is reasonably priced but Boisdale is more than just about food and drink... its an experience.. a venue where one could easily let 8 hours go by. I highly recommend this venue.
Absolutely Amazing!!! Beautiful atmosphere, lovely music. Ideal for friends and couple events. Food was delicious.
Couldnt get to the second floor as did not realise I needed a booking but someone suggested looking at the first floor instead.Generally expensive in the sense of "London prices" especially for what is expected at Canary Wharf but ultimately really nice drinks and a great wine selection (had the house larger which was delish!).Live DJ playing UK Soul - blaring the music with with a small dance floor and created a very good vibe.Great customer experience from both the doorman and the waiters/waitress (Carlos and Ada)
I love this place. In short - Cocktails, Oysters, Haggis, Steak, Truffle, Wine, Whisky, Cigars, Jazz........Always had an excellent time here - but last night, something was just not quite right. Its been a couple of years since my last visit - naturally things change - but there were multiple issues with our dinner order/service problems - which was a real shame. That said, everything else was superb, as always. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Had a lovely evening. The food was surprisingly good. Service was great, friendly and accommodating.Entertainment was enjoyable. A lovely option for those who have outgrown clubbing culture but still enjoy good food and music. The bar is fabulous with a broad wine list and a plethora of spirits. You may have to sell a kidney and part of your liver to afford some, which kind of defeats the point. On the pricey side which is why it loses a star. But would certainly go again.
Great atmosphere. First time visiting. Food was amazing. Best part of our night was our waiter Fabio. He was very attentive and catered to our every need. 5βββββ
Visited when they were easing #lockdown #restrictions and it was very #safe. Staff wore #masks and we were #sociallydistanced from other #patrons. The A La Carte #menu is great but they could improve the #dessert menu by having more choice of desserts. Also would recommend spending 30 minutes looking at the photos of various #celebrities they have on their walls.
Lovely Sunday jazz and lunch .You have to access from near Canary Wharf DLR Station shops area in lift
I went to this venue with high expectations and those expectations were met and exceeded. My steak was perfectly cooked to my preference and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant has one of the most relaxing ambiences I have ever seen. The jazz and music offered makes the meal an amazing experience.Although high end prices, the experience is worth it for an great couples night.
Food was ok, but very under seasoned. Once I added lemon and salt and pepper it was much better. Definitely over priced as the food wasnt great. However the location is quite scenic, and the food looks visibly nice. The staff were not great, especially our waitress who seemed rude and is if she didnt want to be there, not helpful at all.
