New American eats & unique craft cocktails served in a hip, modern-rustic space with outdoor seats.
Looks really classy but was absolutely perfect pricing and amazing food. Out server was wonderful as well. Super kind and very knowledgeable for only having worked a few days here. Brunch is amazing.
My fiance and I held our engagement party at their new private events space and we loved it! It was the perfect size for our private event, beautifully decorated and plus, the food was amazing. The manager, Josh, tended to our every need and walked us through the whole process of planning our party. He was easy to communicate with and really made the whole experience fun and easy. We highly recommend Bodega for your next private event. Amazing food and even more amazing customer service.
This is one of my favorite places to eat at down here. Perfect balance of ambiance and great tasting food.
The food is yummy, the atmosphere is relaxing outdoors, and the wait staff is friendly.
Bruch here is on point. Great food and amazing drinks. Get there early it gets packed usually.
We have only tried brunch but have loved all we tasted. I would recommend reservations for brunch especially however, we have been able to grab a table without one by arriving early. Their coffee is the best in town in my opinion and my personal favorites are the French toast and the barnacoa.
First time here, and having brunch here. Everything about it was fantastic. The environment was very nice, the food was very very delicious. We got the steak and migas, and the the OG burger. The steak and migas had an absolute flavory taste same with the OG burger. The fries were good but the ketchup, the ketchup is made in house and its very delicious. Our server Frank was outstanding as well, he went out of his way and was very helpful on what to get on the menu. He took his time explaining how it was made and how fresh everything is in house. We will be back very very soon. 5 stars all around
Cold, mushy food, coffee was good, mimosa was just oj basically, I wouldn’t recommend here, there’s better places.May try em again later to see if it’s better but probably not.
Food is pretty good, waiter was attentive. Definitely more of a third date +space. Cocktails were coming out really slow for how simple they were and the bartender didnt look too swamped but its always hard to tell. Nice spot for sure.
The experience here was terrible. When we were seat, no one came to our table for about 5 min. and when we ordered our drinks that was another 10min before she came over and told me they didnt have my drink. Finally going into ordering our food, mind you we been there for about 20min. when I ordered food, they told me they didnt have pizza. Like at any point if the interaction and ordering food she never told us until we ordered 20min later. We ended up just canceling our order and leaving after my appizter, bc that also was pretty bad. They wanted to do way too much to basic guacamole.
Good vibes here. Burgers are to die for and they have awesome craft cocktails!
Fast seating, wide variety of selections, great food and Frank gave excellent service!
Love their motherboard with assorted cheese and cured meats, the buffalo cauliflower is super tasty and the venenosa cocktail is the best!!
The staff was professional & attentive. The food was flavorful and charmingly platted. 10/10
Went to brunch on a Saturday morning. The food was great. Staff was very friendly.
The best beet fries and Brussels!Yummy guacamole trio ❤️
The service was professional, attentive and polite. The food was spectacular and the presentation was great. The ambiance is nice with a modern decor. My only gripe might be the acoustics. On a busy night packed with guests, it can get quite loud.
Had high expectations for this place. Honestly, terrible for the price and pretentious atmosphere. Pasta was way over cooked and under seasoned. Took a couple bites and set it aside. The meatloaf was okay… nothing great. Cocktail was alright. The best part of the meal were the fries I ordered for my daughter.
Great atmosphere Great drinks Great food Great service. No complaints from me... You would had gotten 5 stars if you opened 7 days a week!
I highly recommend this place! The menu offers a good variety of different types of food. I ordered Pepper Patch Pizza and it was delicious! Ask for Jennifer; She was quick, friendly and informative. I will definitely be back⭐👍😊!
Try the pork belly tacos appetizer. Pork belly is crunchy, sweet and tangy. Enough for two maybe three people. Delicious… Main entree tried the meatloaf after reading the reviews, not disappointed.
The shrimp and grits are great. They were $26. Very comforting. The place is very hip, chic and modern.Only wish I a spoon for the grits.Very nice place for a date or business lunch.
Food was alright…I was really disappointed in the fact that it was my first time here and I brought my own cake…. Waiter let me know that they was a $15 cake fee for bringing our own outside cake… the website does not list a cake fee. Manager explained that the reason they charged a fee is so that the pastry chef made profit of the cakes that they sell, however there was not even any pastries listed on there menu. We were put in an awkward position when we asked for plates and was told there was a fee. They charge a $15 fee if you bring your own cake regardless if they lend you plates or you bring your own… because you’re not buying dessert from them….pretty shady….Birthday was ruined, and they lost customers, first time here and not coming back. I’ve NEVER been charged a cake fee even at restaurants 10x times more elegant than this one.
Cute brunch place .. limited space though. I had the french toast and it was delicious. The waitress "Carolina" is darling !
Such an extraordinary spot, I loved it! I always wanted to visit this location and finally I had the opportunity. It was more than expected, our server was amazing and with a great attitude. The food and drinks were super yummy. Definitely coming back for brunch.
Excellent customer service 👏🏼 👌🏼 👍🏼 Enjoyed Lunch with the family and its pet friendly ❤ Ask for Ralph he is the best!!!
I didnt even know that this place existed. Super awesome. Sat at the bar and watched the bartenders expirement with their seasonal cocktails. It was so cool.they were having a blast and were very friendly. Great vibe, great food. Great drinks Great service. Aweome appetizers...the bodega spice chicken lollipops, crackling chiccarones served with salsa verde and lime wedges: super yums at. The calamari was to die for. Served atop of what i believe to be a rustic marina and topped with banana peppers was an unexpected combo but genius. The chicken lollipops were delicious. Two thumbs up. Great place to experience atleast once. At first glance it may seem a little pricey but for the environment, quality of food and service and the experience of trying something deliciously new...the price was on point.
Was here on new years, food was not very good. The pork belly glazed appetizer was the best item and the only thing I would go back for. We had a pizza that everyone mentioned seemed frozen, I am sure it wasnt, but just not great. Also had the beef stroganoff, it was pretty bland. The cherry on top is when you order soda, they bring it out in a can, but only when you are able to get ahold of your server.
First time here. I recommend it. Stopped by around 4PM. The salmon was excellent, i honestly don’t recall the name of the dish. The but chef did a great job. The bartender(swere energetic and welcoming. They know how to make a drink. Great job!!
Food was pretty good. I ate the meatloaf, sitting on a bed of potato pureé, seared carrots, and topped with grilled brussel sprouts. My husband had the OG burger, also good. Had the Calamari. Only suggestion, leave the sauce, (taste good), on the side of the Calamari because its a little spicy & it wont get drenched. Ill have to taste other dishes! 👍
Great food, great staff, anything is good there from dinner to brunch this is a must visit places.
All the food we ordered was excellent, however, my wifes eggs were covered in salsa which the menu failed to mention. The manager replaced the eggs quickly which was good. Although the wait staff was friendly, they werent very attentive, and we had to flag her down a few times for different things. Even paying the bill took a while. We were there on Sunday at 1:30pm so maybe the service is better at a different time.
Customer service is really bad.Review update: I love Bodega💖, its my personal favorite place for brunching, my personal favorites are the "Beer Battered Fish Tacos" and a "Mimosa Pitcher" with pineapple and orange juice. My Sundays here are always perfect! I had a really bad experience in the past with the customer service but Ive been coming a lot and since then and thats why Im changing my review, now everything has changed.
The motherboard wasnt the greatest we left several items on the board. The MaiTai they ran out of the syrup so I got the last of the bottle so not what it should have been. The Ribeye Steak was delicious. But the potatoes lacked. The sauce was delicious so it made up for it cause all I needed was the meat.It was a so so. I dont think Id go back. The waitress was super friendly and glad to have had her.
Maya our server was Fantastic! The Buffalo cauliflower was really tasty and quite a surprise, very flavorful. GO for the Meatloaf! Like momma makes, super tasty and very comforting. The burger was tasty and juicy. Green salad with salmon was fresh with a tangy citrus vinaigrette.Deserts were all amazing especially the warm chocolate chip cookies. A fantastic meal all around!! UPDATE: Came back for round 2The Motherboard was maternal just like mom. Amazing selection and something for everyone. The Ribeye was the star of the show and everyone was happy...Tender and flavorful.
Awesome place to try in the McAllen area. Ordered the meatloaf which sounds ordinary but it’s definitely not. Try their cocktails, especially in this heat. Service is friendly, fast and knowledgeable. For dessert, do yourself a favor and order an after dinner dessert. Cherry on top! Love this place and definitely will be coming back.
Food is good, not too many options, but good. Theyve got a good kids menu too. Service is great when theyre not too crowded. Ordered 1/2 lbs barbacoa.
I took my son for the first time and he really enjoyed the pork belly appetizer and the meatloaf entree. I got the salmon and it was also delish. The server Adrian was excellent and on point. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Whenever I think of having a Bloody Mary Bodega is where I end up. It’s sooo good & the rotating guac trio is always an interesting and delicious surprise of concoctions. Plus, if you can get Jacob to take care of you you’re sure to have a wonderful experience HE IS AWESOME!
Amazing experience. Outdoor lounge on a cold day, happy hour Tuesday and yummy pork. Jacob and Juan were so welcoming! Ill be back!
Food is great! Ambiance is perfect and staff is super friendly. Very happy with the brunch options!
What an awesome experience! Between the good food, great atmosphere, and live music, I’d go there again. The apps were honestly better than the mains...the Shishito Peppers was the favorite of the night with the Pork belly Tacos following right behind. My main-the shrimp scampi was the best I’ve ever had, but sadly my husband’s main was not as good as we expected-it was the short rib with popcorn grits. Dessert was also outstanding, although I was a little sad that the “cookies and milk” wasn’t available-I’ve heard great things about them! I’m still giving 5 stars because the service was outstanding. Our waitress was more than accommodating and reminded us 5 minutes before Happy Hour was over if we’d like to order a final round. Excellent restaurant-I recommend it definitely!!
Great experience all around. We came for drinks and snacks and received more than expected. The drink menu was unique, full of flavorful concoctions and beers Id never heard of. I tried the Humidity beer which was extremely tasty! For snacks we all shared the Guacamole trio platter and truffle tots. Both were awesome! Each guac bowl was unique with ingredients I never thought could go together. The house ketchup for the tots was out of this world. Never thought Id say that about ketchup, but here we are.Highly recommend this place for an explosion of flavor in your mouth. Main course items looked a bit pricey but if they are half as delicious as the snacks we shared, they earned it! Definitely try this place soon!
Really nice cocktails and food! We had the blue suede shoes, Oaxacan rose, and Day Tripper, all really good. We also had the guacamole flight, carrot salad, and wings.
Great cocktails, and always something interesting on the menu. Price is exactly what you would expect of a place with some unique menu items and handcrafted cocktails. Atmosphere has a great laid back feel to it, and the patio matches this feeling as well. Make sure to check out the brunch.
Recently moved back from Houston and I miss brunch! I googled brunch in McAllen, Bodega came up. In one word this place is "Fantastic!" Food is superb, drinks as well. And the service... best Ive recieved in McAllen. Patsy our server was great! The Hostess (cant remember her name sorrycame back to see how we were doing and gave us the 411 on the week and brought us menus to see for ourselve. Remarkable food & drinks plus top notch service!
Wow, talk about a home run! Mixed drinks were on point and the food was beyond remarkable! I had the pork belly divorciado and everything on the plate was out-of-this-world delicious. The restaurant is really clean with a laid back ambiance, the service was terrific, and the live jazz really hit the spot for a relaxing time. Ill try to make it back on Tuesday for all-day happy hour with more friends. 🥃🍸🍹
FINALLY!!! A place that feels like the big city.First of all, the outside appearance drew me in as a light bulb draws in a mosquito. Walking in, it was bright, shiny, and to top it off, smiles all around. I had the chorizo biscuit plate. These guys must be spying on me, I swear. One of my favorite things in the world is chorizo and egg biscuit sandwiches. This plate was delicious. Compliments to the chef. Ive been in the valley 7 years. Ive never been able to get and egg sunny side up. That is, until now. Perfect consistency. My friends had a sandwich of some sort. I only had a bite, but it was delicious. My friend loved his meal. The service, was just as amazing. Fast, friendly, smiles. Smiles are not something I get from anyone in the service industry. My server had an amazing smile. Her service, equally satisfying. Props on knowing how to treat your customers.Thank you.I just moved into the hood, but u have a feeling, Ill be venturing here sooner than later.
Good place to eat and get some drinks..Menu it’s like Deli, with appetizers, salads some sandwiches and the jewel’s crown.. the deli section.
Had a great lunch. Bar and staff were super cool. Service was fast and attentive. Will definitely visit next time in town. Had the Cuban sandwich, super awesome.
