Boca in Hickory

Perfect for any occasion.Our group decided to taste most on the menu, so we ordered in the "Tapas." section, not on the big plate.We then shared each others order; it was a great mouth-watering experience.Most of what we had, but one didnt pass our taste buds; too heavily salted pork loin. But for all the rest, including the desert, the service was next to none; there was even live music by the bar.Youll love it here, and you should come next time!

First time, last time! The venue at Boca is rather nice, however that is the only thing we enjoyed about our experience. While the service was fine, it was nothing to rave about. The food was average at best and very expensive for average. All the dishes we tried were very bland and the cocktails were not enjoyable at all. I am always very disappointed when I spend this kind of money to go out for good meal and leave knowing that everything from the steak to the cocktails would have been better if I made them myself at home. Lastly, do not take young children here as they have absolutely no options on the menu for kids.

We had my birthday dinner here. The drinks were strong and the food was not what I expected for the price.

Very disapappointing, food was sub par and lacked flavor. Only thing nice was the decor inside, neat pieces/driftwood with glass. Ordered the "naan and baba ganoush"- thats not wat it was...it was a thick dough..pizza dough..was warm and good but it was not naan. The "baba ganoush" did NOT taste like baba ganoush...i asked the waitress why and she said it had SOUR CREAM in it!! It was a weird thin smooth consistency and had basically zero flavor. It did not taste like roasted eggplant all and idk if it actually even had eggplant in it. The mushrooms tapas dish..was expecting to get mushrooms on a plate like the caps as it was a stand alone dish but instead it was a dish of minced mushrooms like you would put on top of something so it was weird to eat it alone as it was more like a sauce and again was somehow very bland. I had two cocktails and neither one was very good, the cherry had been muddled to the point of it was little fine pieces in the drink. The shrimp tacos were on a crunchy taco shell with a dry "slaw"- the actual pieces of shrimp were good at least. Food did not live up to expectations. The Moroccan sliders were dry and bland. Overall all dishes were very blah and bland.

Had a very nice dinner with our family. Food was very good and the selection of dishes were great. Looking forward to returning.

We have eaten here since the proprietor first opened and it has always been excellent in all categories of dining experience. I highly recommend this place.

Incredible food. Incredible service. I am in town for a conference and if I attend this conference again, Boca will be my go-to.

Excellent food, selection, service, and ambiance. Shout out to Jimmy & Tony for always being great. The roasted cauliflower has a great texture and warm spicy flavor, and the halibut is seared to perfection. Highly rec. the stuffed piquillos and the whippped ricotta. We very much enjoyed the decadent flavors of the limoncello cake, creme brulee, & salted caramel cheesecake.

Great meal. Whipped ricotta was the favorite, pork belly and string beans were great as well. Salted caramel cheesecake was incredible.

Great atmosphere and service.Food was amazing!! Definitely somewhere we will frequent.

Overall 4. They really need another bartender, takes forever to order and get a drink. The straws they use for their drinks are paper, soggy unless you down your drink. The fig , prosciutto pizza was tasty and the size of a dinner plate. Not somewhere Id go often.

We will definitely be returning! We visited tonight on the recommendation of a friend and they did not steer us wrong. Tonight we ordered solely from the tapas menu. We enjoyed the pub chips with blue cheese fondue, Naan bread with three types of dip, Sicilian style cauliflower and the shrimp tacos. All were delicious, but the ones that we loved the most were the cauliflower and the tacos! The normal order for the tacos is three but since there were two of us, we added an additional taco for an additional charge of $4, but totally worth it! We are already planning our next visit and are so excited to return. Jose was our server tonight and was attentive without being overbearing. He did a great job and helped us make decisions regarding our meal. We look forward to our next visit!

Last night was our first time at Boca & it did not disappoint. Food, drinks, and service were amazing. Great atmosphere & we cannot wait to go back & try everything on the menu.

Great food and ambience. We tried the Morrocan Chicken Tagine and Beef Kebab with a side of rissotto. Kebab was so far my best experience, juicy and cooked to perfection, that we ordered twice. Will definitely come back.

Very mediocre Spanish food. I ordered the lamb shank, which was highly recommended by our server, and it was not good. Don’t recommend. The pecan pie was warm and tasty.

Had a great meal here, food was enjoyed by all. Easy to book a reservation. Appreciate the clear gluten free symbols on the menu and there are many choices.

Everything we ate was delicious. The piquillos were our favorite, we could’ve eaten 3 plates of just those! Dessert and drinks were great as well.

I would highly recommend planning a trip to Boka in the near future! Ive been here for a date night and for business dinners and they have never disappointed. The food and the atmosphere is awesome! They have a great variety of options so you dont have to worry if they are going to have something you like, they will! They have indoor and outdoor seating so you can choose which ever one you would like. Give them a chance, you will not regret it!

Wow. I love this place! Its like revisiting southern Spain again. Beautiful decor, lovely staff, relaxed atmosphere, and excellent food. Go the tapas route and skip the big plates. Take your time, have a good conversation, and enjoy! Cant wait to return.

Visited this place on July 1st 2020. My parents recommended me this restaurant and I was not disappointed. Food was exceptional and desserts mmmm super tasty not overly sugary. Highly recommend tiramisu.

I was left full as well as fully satisfied with my experience at Boca. We stumbled across Boca by accident and decided to stop in for a walk in dinner without a reservation. WOW were we impressed! It truly is a class above most establishments I have been to in the surrounding cities. Im already counting down the days until I can come back and enjoy the delicious ambiance, and stunning food they have to offer here at Boca!

I would definitely recommend this place. We will be going here again. Lovely atmosphere, beautiful decor, good menu selection. Nothing bad to say here. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Jordi was incredible. I recommend the chicken paella and limoncello marscapone cake.

If you are in Hickory and want that finer dining experience but dont feel like driving to Charlotte to have it, Boca is for you. It is one of the finer dining experiences in Hickory and always delivers! Food is always incredible and the drinks will blow you away. Youssef has been there every time I have been there and he will frequently pop by tables to ensure everything is to satisfaction. Always an exciting evening when Boca is part of the plan!

We ate outside and had a lovely evening. This is the perfect place to go for excellent food with a beautiful atmoshpere and great, friendly service. The Naan was perfect to start out our Tapas & I highly recommend the blood orange margarita! This is a place to go if you enjoy a unique menu in a relaxing atmosphere. We will go back everytime we visit Hickory!

Super friendly staff, came to check on us often and were great hosts!Love the outdoor seating with the beautiful, big fire place. Food is amazing, highly recommend ordering a bunch of tapas and finishing off with paella!

One of more upscale restaurants in Hickory. Great full course experience with top shelf drink selection. The live classical guitar and low lighting made it an amazing experience.

The lamb was really exceptional. Best we have ever had. Beet and goat cheese salad perfect. Good wines. Really great Valentines evening meal. Highly recommend.

Cant say enough about this place. Elegant setting, plenty of space for social distancing, and an incredible variety of delicious and fairly priced tapas - even entrees if you arent the sharing type. The cocktail menu is super tasty and unique as well. A must-try if visiting Hickory!

Great look and feel plus the food is a great relief from the norm. Calamari is my favorite and the cheese tray is a staple. Been here twice and the food is always excellent. It is a tapas menu so servings are small. Expect a hefty fee but its worth it for anniversary, birthday, or just a getaway from the chain restaurants whose menus look more identical every year. The only reason for 4 stars is that one time we went, our waiter would stop and run before we could ask questions or order our next item. In addition, the wait time for food was a little longer than usual between servings leaving us twiddling our thumbs. Keep in mind, that was one of the two times we went. If you want the best service based off our experience, it may be best to keep throwing orders at them if eating from the tapas and dont be scared to grab their attention when in need. Great place and I almost feel guilty for leaving 4 stars.

Authentic. Unique. "Homemade". Dishes are full of flavor and complimentary spices. Great selection of hard liquor, wines, etc. from the bar. Love the cool, rustic modern design. Comfortable dining options. Bar staff, Blake, is a 10 out of 5!!! Excellent service.*I was so impressed with the food I forgot to take photos. This meal we had the classic pallea and Moroccan chicken tagine, and of course naan.

Such a romantic place for a date night and perfect for a girls night out with wine! The portions were big and all the food we tried was amazing. Taylor was a fantastic server and so nice and helpful. I cannot wait to come back!

Had dinner with my husband for our much delayed anniversary celebration. Love the ambience! I lived in Dubai for 13 years before coming to Hickory and Boca definitely gave me that cosmopolitan vibe of restaurants I used to frequent. Definitely a spot to hangout with friends and dates nights out!!!

Such a great experience. My son greatly enjoyed the food and experience here for his twelfth birthday. The owner and waitress were both so kind and considerate. After multiple tapas dishes, my son chose another tapas dish rather than dessert tonight. Not to be deterred, the owner boxed up a piece of cake and met us at the door for him to take it with him. My son was quite surprised and pleased. He declared this is his favorite restaurant ever as we left tonight. This locally owned restaurant is a great place to spend an evening in Hickory. Good was so good. The cheese platter was incredible with fresh fruits. Best cranberry chutney Ive ever had. I thought the prime rib was a little dry but others disagreed with me. Turkey was good. Desserts were excellent. Atmosphere is laid back and classic. Nice place

Great place for that up scale dining experience. A simplified menu with artistic twist. Plenty of seating for family and friends that would like to join in on a fun night out.

Great atmosphere good service and reasonably priced. Food was well cooked, flavored and portioned were good two people splitting tapas. Worth the overall value. 4 out of 5 because service could have been a little better it took a while to get the check. And the food while good was not what I would consider exceptionally good. Overall still a great experience and would go back a 2nd time if visiting Hickory again.

Great place for a small meal, and drinks with friends! Glad Hickory has this gem! Great service, wine list, and decor! Cant wait to visit this summer to enjoy the patio!

Had an amazing birthday here the food and staff are exceptional. Ariel (sp?was the best waitress and went above and beyond.

Some of the Tapas are great, like the cheese board. Others are not enough to share, like the beef kebab. Not much food for the cost, but its fun to share with friends

I LOVE Boca! Terrific food, service and atmosphere! I take clients here as well as friends and family! The bar tenders make awesome drinks and the Moroccan flare is amazing! Absolutely a must when in Hickory!

Went last night without reservations and the place was packed but we were invited to have a drink at the bar until a table possibly openned up, after only about 15 minutes the host came over and seated us.Our salads were excellent and generous, the tapas dishes we got were excellent as well. Everything was reasonably priced and the drink selection was good.We will be back.

My first experience with Boca was through a corporate event. The staff took care of us from the moment we arrived, making certain we had drinks and we were comfortable. We had some delicious Tapas to start us off followed by the main dish of chicken salmon and mixed vegetables. Dinner was topped off with a lovely lemon cake. If you need to host a large event here they will treat you right.
