We brought our own fresh home catch snapper to be battered, which was a real let down as the batter was really sloppy and not very nice.The chips were first class though..

Outstanding, 100% beef fat makes the difference, and such good people...

Another piece of inedible fish, not sure what sort but its grey and dark brown, this is the 3rd time I havent been able to eat what I ordered., maybe I should have dined in and got the good fresh fish.

Always beautifully cooked meals, we love the vibes in this working /singing /shop. We personally enjoy eating inside listening to the beautiful harmony voices..💞👏👏👏

Not sure why certain staff members have an arrogant attitude toward customers. As a Maori owned and operated business you’d think they’d represent our culture with a bit more dignity and respect. Won’t get into the tedious details of what happened, but one staff in particular needs to correct her attitude and outlook toward guests coming into the shop. Bad for business buddy! Definitely won’t be going back. The food was aiiiite.

Hands down THE BEST fish and chips weve ever had in New Zealand - we were in Tauranga visiting from Christchurch over the weekend and Bobbys was recommended by some locals. We were not disappointed! Our snapper was cooked perfectly - it had a delicious lightly crunchy batter and was soft and flavorsome inside. The chips were out of this world good and their service here was prompt and cheerful. From odering to receiving our food only took around 15 minutes, but wed be willing to wait longer if we had to because it was just SO GOOD! Next time were here well definitely be back! Absolutely recommend!

they overprice the fish like $5.10 for just one piece of fish, like how money hungry are you? but their chips and such are decent i guess but please do better

What lovely service. They were nearing closing time but they were still happy to cook my dinner. Letting me know how long my order would be despite trying to clean up. They never made me feel I was in their way and talk about service with a smile.........amazing.

The Staff are very friendly helpful and are very good 👍👏👌😊😀While I was there a friend that I had not seen for awhile ordered before me at first I didnt recognize him because of the mask he was wearing but when I heard his voice I knew him l tapped him on the shoulder he finished ordering then I ordered we went out side and caught up on what had been happening since we last met while we waited for our orders

I went to Bobbys fish market in Greerton last night. I ordered 5 fish and 2 scoops of chips. When I got home and unwrapped the package I found the fish were the tiniest pieces and the amount of chips were equivalent to only one scoop and that was small for one scoop. We ended up with about 4 chips each person and a small piece of fish each. Very disappointing when it cost $37.00. I think the people doing the cooking were more interested in singing to the the radio instead of concentrating on what they were cooking. Very sloppy conduct and it doesn’t make me want to go there again.

Potato fritters were soggy and not cooked properly. couldnt even eat. Fish was overcooked and so so greasy. service was good and friendly hence 2 stars however.. only ate chips in the end.. whats happened! it used to be a good meal!.. sure wont be returning

I went here about 20 minutes before closing it was expensive but worth every penny just felt the chips could of been cooed a bit longer. But very friendly staff . Still give 5- stars though.👍

I liked how they greeted customers with a big friendly Hello and smile😀. We ate in and ordered fishnchips etc. Best in Tauranga by far. Would of given five stars if a couple of slices of lemon had been served with our meal it would have looked nice and been affordable/easy to prepare for shop assistants. You know just adding those tiny little touches will bring the customers in again. Thankyou👍

Absolute RIP OFF made a phone order for 15 fish and 6 scoops of chips $144.28 fish was soggy and awful. Apparently fish was taken from counter whatever that means was never given an option when ordering. Terrible customer service when called them. Usually buy Snapper (which wasn’t what we got from herefrom our regular fish and chip shop and has never been anywhere near this amount. Definitely do not recommend worst experience ever.

This is a very clean shop. Food is cooked well, not greasy or fatty, served on white/grey paper with no implements, the traditional way fish and chips is presented. Eaten with the fingers. Reasonably priced and highly recommended.

Phone ordered some Tarakihi and chips for dinner..picked up on due time. Noted lovely, friendly staff and very clean looking establishment. Went home and enjoyed the most delicious meal..fish cooked in beef fat NOT yuk canola oil. Will sure be back.

So God Dam Good! Best Fish n Chips Ever!! Just dont think they should close at dinner time (7pm8/830 on the weekends. People usually eat dinner at 7:30/8pm.

I selected 2 reasonably large pieces of fish (Snapperthe same size.When I got home and opened the parcel I discover only 1 piece of what looks like the original selection and another small portion. Also a 1/2 of chips was part of the order.For an outlay of $24.10 this is an extreme disappointment and I would take it back except for the travelling required (Car).Returned the following morning for a full refund. Thanks all

Excellent service. Great crispy light batter on the fish. Crispy chips too. No burgers, but thats okay since fish is their speciality. I dont even like fish that much, but scoffed down tonights lot. Delicious!
