Blunos - Fusion restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand
The serving time of each course is kind of weird.waited for more than 20mins for one of the soup.doing tasting menu here.coming in at 8.30pm and now is 10.48pm and I still haven’t completed the whole tasting menu experience.zzzzzzzzzzz…….And another issue is the booking system definitely need to improve.calling for about 2 day to have someone to answer.online booking system is poor too. Book for 7.30pm and it automatically change to 11.30am. This is not a joke. The restaurant really need to improve all these basic thing.
I have been to the Blue Elephant Restaurant a couple of times, and I truly like everything here: the food is great, the ambience, the decoration. And the staff is super nice, attentive and genuinely friendly. Will sure come again!
The food is good and unique, but for those prices I would expect to have better service. We were waiting over 30 minutes for our main courses. No one even apologized for that. Beware that they add 10% service, and on that 7% VAT. We were quite surprised by that.
Definitely one of the best Thai cuisine I have ever had. Very cozy and authentic atmosphere in the retaurant.
We went there to try out their course meal, surprising we are pretty full even before the main course. Not recommended if you’re still full from all the street food u had, better go with an empty stomach. Their meals are delighted, sweet and sour very flavorful. Service is good too.
Visited the restaurant for anniversary during our holidays trip to BKK.They are very attentive to diners need with regular check. It’s a different taste of Thai cuisine with some fusion.Went for the chef tasting menu… The courses were so good that we wipe clean the plates at the beginning resulted us feeling food at the last 2 course of mains. Some dishes can be really spicy. Do heads up if you need the chef to alter some spice level. However there’s still some hit and misses.Love the duck confit. Very refreshing and appetizing! The chef dessert is all done well. Despite us being so full, the desserts have managed to clean our palate well. The Jasmine green tea ice cream 🍦 yummyOverall good and interesting experience.I must do say that the plating are well done with all the blue elephant item!
Went on a Tuesday evening 7Pm reservation. You can use google map to reserve. Street leading to the restaurant is crazy. The cars are not moving . Have to walk for 30 mins to the restaurant. Service is good. Speed of serving is quite fast. Serve small portions. I recommend to order more if you are a big eater. See photos of what I ordered came to about 6,800 thai Baht. Over experience is ok. Except that got to wait for taxi(they will help to get one from the main road). Recommend to come if you can walk from nearby hotels. Otherwise traffic is crazy….
The best cooking school in Thailand got to enjoy for a day and it was worth the visit and got to learn new Thai food and tried it at home for my family and they loved it
Great place to enjoy traditional royal Thai fine dining cuisine. Michelin guide.Price: 2 stars (pricey)Place: 5 starsService: 5 stars (would love to give more)Food: 5 starsAtmosphere: 5 starsNot far from the bustling area of Siam and Pratunam. The waiters there are superb. Very attentive and are great with the kids.Love the coconut milk soup with crabs ! Something to die for.A small advice:Casual wear is ok but no short pants & slippers.
Delicious food and amazing service. They made my partner’s birthday so special. Special shout out to Jacky for being extremely caring and friendly.
I would strongly recommend to visit here if you are in bangkok, they provide good ingredients and wonderful environment. The dishes are various types and strongly recommend to order pork ribs and fish. However, the price is a bit higher than other restaurants that are also famous in bkk area. Overall, its acceptable. If you are foreigner, this restaurant would provide authentic thai cuisines for your first try.
Great course menu with introduction given by the staff.I shall not review the food pictures so you must try it yourself
Nice atmosphere! Best Thai food, friendly staff, easy to access by BTS Surasak stop. So impressive with a reasonable price.
Not the cheapest thing in town but definitely worth every baht. Food is fresh, delicious and authentic. Ambience is fantastic. Service standard is world class too!
Absolutely amazing first dinner in Thailand! We had the Thainess tasting menu and it was spectacular! The service was also out of this world. My girlfriend didnt really like the cocktail she had ordered and they offered her a different one at no extra cost. That is real 5 star service. We will be back 100% in fact we are planning to go the blue elephant in phuket soon and try the chefs tasting menu!
Thailand has finally open its border and I finally managed to visit Thailand for my first post covid trip. Decided to add Blue Elephant in my itinerary. My first experience with Blue Elephant was their lunch menu a few years back and didnt disappoint. Decided to try their Chefs Tasting Menu and it was an awesome experience. Forget other "Michelin" street food with astronomical price and try Blue Elephant instead! Great service with good food. The menu is a good reflection of the art of Thai cuisine. The servers also surprised me with a birthday song.
My wife and I decided to come here on our last night in Bangkok, it was fantastic, the ambience, the food and presentation and the Superb service was beyond compare.
Had chefs tasting menu. Overall great experience. Just try when you travel to Bangkok.
First time being here, it was truly an experience. From the interior, to the food and the service. These are not just normal traditional Thai food. These are high-end traditional Thai food.Every dish was a truly amazing experience as I was tasting new flavours that I couldnt even imagine. This place also sells small blue elephant souvenir. Very cute! Would come back here to experience it again.
Fantastic dining experience. Well worth the trip to check it out. Over ordered because the choices were so fantastic. Good interpretation of traditional Thai cuisine
Excellent atmosphere for really high-ended Thai cuisine, and every single dishes are truly art-piece.We have ordered a chef tasting menu for our dinner, and every dish are really carefully designed with mixture of ingredient and balance of flavour.
Very nice ambience, friendly and helpful staff, love the food as well, one of the best padthai we ever had.
Went to Blue Elephant last night and had a great experience.Staying at the Anantara Siam Bangkok closeby and the concierge called and made the reservation for us. Took the BTS train to Surasak (30bahtand the restaurant is right in front of the station.Started off really well getting a drink (blue mai taicompliments of the chef, then she sent over an appetizer as well!We ordered the pad thai, lamb massaman and crab curry - all were amazing! My wifes fav was the crab curry and my favorite was the lamb. The food isnt too spicy but *very* flavorful and balanced. The drinks were very well made too - we had the traditional thai liquor based drinks. For dessert we had the "Rainy" menu special dessert. Great way to end such a wonderful dinner experience.
4 stars for food and service. Good selection of Thai cusine. Pleasant environment and cozy setting. $$$+
Food is Ok, but does not live up to the hype. Some dishes were good, some average and some below average. Over all many restaurants in the city give similar or better Thai food experience. Had high expectations from here. No where near a fine dining experience too.
The most delicious steak I’ve ever had! Perfectly medium rare. The lamb massaman curry was perfection too!Staff were very kind and attentive.
The epitome of high end traditional Thai cuisine. We were blown away by how even spicy dishes can have subtle flavors and characters when prepared expertly by the chef here. If you are a tourist, be mindful that the spiciness level is better suited for locals. Go for the mild heat even if you believe you can handle spicy food.
Staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The class exceeded my expectations. I learned a lot. Love the apron and brochure they give you and printed recipes. I love markets and grocery stores. However the market they took us on the train to the market which I didn’t like and they took us to a shady run down metal warehouse it was filthy, floor was slippery, walls were black, rats running in daylight across the vendor stalls, huge cockroaches dead on the floor. I almost wanted to scream I really freaked out. They should take the class to a clean supermarket. I didn’t want to take off any stars cause the class is amazing and I highly recommend you take the class just skip the market trip.
My 4th time at Blue Elephant, along several years difference. Service continues to be great. Food was solid and good in a great location. Still a bit overpriced, but fully recommended heritage location restaurant.
A fine dining restaurant with excellent service and delectable dishes from a kitchen taken care of by a famous chef. Lets not discuss the price but some dishes are quite small in terms of quantity. The quality is great though. The place is also very atmospheric and sells other goods like souvenirs.
The perfect way to end my first experience in Bangkok. Ambience was tasteful and beautiful - I felt like a kid in a candy store in their gift shop full of ceramics and cooking sets. The staff was extremely helpful and professional, and advised on how to best eat the dishes I ordered. Food, while on the pricier side, was heavenly. I had the foie gras with tamarind sauce and an herbed mash for my starter - perfectly balanced; a symphony in my mouth. The lamb curry was heavier but still delicious, though the only criticism I have is that the accompanying roti was too oily. I ended my meal with some amazing mango sticky rice. Will be back to sample more of their menu for sure!
I feel like a royal family member when dinning in this beautiful exotic Thai building with the stunning decoration, utensils and mind blowing setting.I even joint their cooking classes for the coming 3 days to feel the culture
One of my favourite restaurant in Bangkok. The restaurant has such an amazing traditional interior settings and great atmosphere. Food is delicious and authentic, cocktails are nice as well. Service is exceptional and staffs are super friendly. We’ll definitely come back to try more dishes. And if time allows, we would love to book the cooking class. Tips for visitors, please book in advance to secure your table. Highly recommended!
Service was impeccable for most of the meal. Food was very good and that left an overall great impression. Dropped the ball at the end as we felt forgotten during dessert. Also durian cheesecake lacked the texture that I wanted. Menus were a little hard to read and could be rewritten. But overall would be happy to return again.
delicious Thai food with good service .This restaurant can maintain standard all the time.easy to access here by BTS (Metroif you don’t want to face with heavy traffic jam on South Sathorn road in the evening
Aroy Mak Mak 😋This was my 1st visit in 1999, highly recommended by our friends. I was very impressed by the Elegant fine dining atmosphere, delicious authentic thai cusine, all the plates were appealing to my eye. Definitely worth going back to... Next Trip. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful dining experience with professional staff, amazing food, calming and creative atmosphere. We were rather surprised to have the whole place to ourselves on a Thursday evening; perhaps due to the situation, there are less people visiting restaurants, but hopefully more people can come and discover this culinary gem in Bangkok.
extraegent place with a touristy feel to it. the building has been renovated well, the second floor is beautiful and the wood floor feels great walking on. staff and waiters are super well trained and professional although they did forget some orders we made.with no tourists now, it will be a quiet evening with family to visit and try the mainly central Thailand cuisine.
Large wooden house hosting cooking school and a restaurant. We had set menu consisting of starter set, soup, mains sets and finally, dessert. Food was consistently very good, every single dish didn’t disappoint. Mocktails could be better though, ginger one was very bland. Service staff did a good job too.
Chefs tasting menu was an excellent choice. Great selection of quality Thai food, served by friendly staff. Left full and very happy
An iconic Thai cuisine in historic chateau.Good vibes with interesting Thai food made from quality ingredients.A good place to impressed for both foreigners and Thai friends..Ps. All desserts are very nice, so must have some space for the sweet time
Refined Take of Thai CuisineThis is my third time visiting the Blue Elephant Bangkok Restaurant and I have brought two of my friends along who were in Bangkok for the first time. The menu has changed slightly since my last visit. The weekly lunch menu was not available partly due to the Chinese New Year season and there was special Lunar New Year menu.Blue Elephant Bangkok was housed in a former departmental shore and its interiors is filled with old world atmosphere. The food was consistent. I thoroughly enjoyed my Tom Yum Goong and the appetizers for the meal was nice teaser to the entire course. The main courses include a duck with mandarin orange sauce and a really good crab curry. The desserts is a nice mix of traditional sweets and ice cream. It is Thai cuisine but refined and a tad more exquisite. The pricing is also expectedly steep. However, the great service, the beautiful interiors and delicious food makes it a worthwhile experience after all. The restaurant is also popular with tourists.
We tried the set menu for lunch. Excellent way to sample items at the restaurant. They were very accommodating for our dietary needs. Gluten free and vegetarian. Staff were excellent and atmosphere is beautiful. All the food selections gave us a taste of Bangkok in style. Recommend to try this out. Don’t expect street food prices, but bring your fine dining mindset.
Superb!!!! Recommend everyone who think you know about Thai food to try on. They can blow up your mind on how they present foods. The potion are tiny but in the end, we are so full. We definitely come back again.
Blue Elephant has high reputation in Thailand. I was glad to experience once when I was in Bangkok. Nice environment. Traditional decor. Food was fair, the soup was so spicy. Price was a little bit high. I think we may have more enjoyable food with much better experience elsewhere for far less money or the same money.
From the well-maintained historic building to the innovativness of the food to the 5- star service, this restaurant really shines. The matching of food flavors is spectacular and the overall quantity of the Chefs Tasting Menu is sufficient for even the biggest of eaters. My wife and I planned for a dinner but got an event.
I hosted a group of 20 from across Asia to the Blue Elephant Cooking School. We started at 1330 by convening in a demo kitchen set up with 20 desks, one demonstration kitchen and a video of that demonstration shown on a large screen TV so that everyone could clearly see the chef at work. The chef prepared one a dish, clearly explaining the ingredients and cooking style. After the chef completed a dish he asked everyone to taste it while they transitioned into the kitchen. The group then went to 20 assigned cooking stations to cook it for themselves. There were several chefs walking and helping with any questions. In total we did this cycle four times, preparing 4 dishes. Blue Elephant offers different menus for different days of the week, but if you book the entire place you can choose your 4 dishes. After receiving their personalized certificates all 20 newly minted Thai chefs proceeded to the ground floor dining room where they were presented with their four dishes to enjoy for a late lunch / early dinner. Each of them was served the food that they themselves prepared. The transitions were very smooth. When the demonstration session was going on the kitchen was re-set for the next dish. Our team was able to prepare 4 dishes in 2.5 hours. I can highly recommend this experience for groups of up to 20 people.
If there ever is such a thing as high end, fine dining Thai food, this is it. Everything is meticulous in its execution. The service could not be better. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. Elegant setting for an evening night out worthy to remember. The food, did I mention, is excellent in every way?
This is a very famous thai restaurant. The dishes here are very surprising and delicious. You can choice business sets, then enjoy lots of food here. Each day has different kinds of meal. Although the price is more expensive than other restaurants, the architecture, service, meals and tableeare are worth it. I really enjoy the meal here and honestly recommend it to everyone.
Excellent choice for authentic Thai food. Nice building and great colonial atmosphere, plenty of cozy corners. Service is attentive. The food is SUPERB, specially the lamb curry and the duck. Good wine list with some local references, we had a pretty decent Syrah blend. Price is in accordance with the quality, but I would definitely recommend it as I would go back if i visit Bangkok again.
