Not a bad place to eat there Sunday dinners for delievery are superb 👌

Burnt yourkshire pudding and although I got a vegetable no meat it was same veg and potatoes as the meat dinner no extra but same price £31.90 delivered and I am gutted by the meal.

Absolutely appalling,ordered our meals at 16.30 through Just eat was told it would be with us at 18.00, Three phone callls later our food finally arrived ...COLD.No apologies and to be told the driver had knocked on our door but there was no answer ,what a lie,first of all our German Shepherd would have barked if anyone came to the door and secondly we have a camera outside the door and guess what unless you are invisible,then you never came to our door. Will not be ordering from here again.

They got the best food here. Including the appetizers.

Absolutely DO NOT buy a salad from here...🤬. Terrible for the price. I wish I could put a picture up. So disappointing. £5.95 for a couple of leaves of iceberg 4 cherry tomatoes and 3 small bits of chicken. Plus 4 soggy croutons. Glad I waited nearly an hour for it..🙄🙄

Absolutely love bluerare not had a bad meal yet. Just had the Steak & trimmings so tasty & still hot when delivered.

Excellent food , big portions , very reasonable prices , friendly staff .Could maybe stock some non alcoholic beer for the people who are driving ,had to make do with Coke but thats just a small issue which didnt detract from a very enjoyable evening, highly recommend the Bluerare. Enjoy.

We got a home delivery of stew and dumplings then sticky toffee pudding .. it was delicious… the whole meal was fantastic .. the delivery time was very quick so we have no complaints at all . We would highly recommend the food and the service .

Have had several take aways from this place. Always good tasty hot food in decent sized portions.

A nice meal soured by very poor customer service. We were unwilling to pay for a steak that wasn’t cooked correctly and sent back. My friend didn’t want a replacement. He had only taken 2 bites and sent it back. There response attached is an attempted deflection off themselves calling us liars and what’s worst making out we are a dirty family around the nappy. There were other children in the restaurant but there was a nappy bin so I don’t think they would have done it either. I want to be positive as mostly the meal, place and staff were good but lying like this about us just isn’t on. Don’t go as you may regret it!!

Out with a family of 6 and toddler for grandads birthday. What should have been a nice night turned into laughable attempt of customer service.1 main got sent back as it was overcooked and the peppercorn sauce was the most disgusting flavour ever. This person was offered a pudding but didnt want anything else to eat.Others ordered 4 puddings (after waiting quite some time to get ordered), of which 3 came out and left the 2 year old waiting for his ice cream until after all others had finished.When the bill came a pudding had come off the bill for the persons bad meal which was still expected to be paid for, but they never had one. How is that compensation for overcooked food and inedible sauce for them?Querying this at the till, the response from the kitchen was "it was sent out right". I DONT THINK SO. (I mean, did they taste that sauce, I wouldnt wallpaper with it!)Disappointing end by what seems to be low customer service skilled staff. 1 person was affected, (they didnt get compensated), they left a toddler waiting (surely bring theirs first), bringing an end to what should of been a happy night being altogether.All of us wont be going back there again.

We have just ordered for the first time and OMG it was absolutely beautiful we had the roast beef and steak pie, we will definitely be ordering again .

A nice meal with friends. Good value food, nice menu. First visit, for some reason I thought it was posh but it was down to earth, a bit like a pub meal. Will return for more food in the near future.

This was the 2nd time we have had the beef roast delivered along with some sides orders. The beef roasts are superb value for money. Great tasting food and the portions are plentiful.The garlic mushrooms are quite possibly the tastiest I have ever tasted from any restaurant.

A 2 hour wait time is understandable on a Sunday. But why lie when its clearly going to be longer than that? I have ordered from here 4 or 5 times and it has ALWAYS taken at least 3 hours. 3 cooks and 6 delivery drivers tells the entire story. Slightly above average roast dinner for the "convenience" of not having to cook it yourself. Problem is, if you couldve cooked the entire thing and done the washing up by the time it lands, is it really a convenience? Place is a joke. 2 stars instead of 1 because your staff and delivery driver were polite and apologetic while you sat there enjoying the fruits of their labour. Disgraceful.

Disgraceful place! Attitude is disgusting! 3 and a half hours late for delivery - ate elsewhere and now they are refusing to process a refund! Disconnected the call to foodhub in the middle of them trying to sort it out. Food came luke warm at best. If you want your food on time this is not the place. Will not be back!

An absolute shambles! Placed an order for delivery as a mothers day treat costing £70! At time of placing the order quoted a 2 hour wait time. Upon completing the order this turned in to 2 hours 30 minutes. After 2 hours 45 minutes we called the restaurant to enquire about the order to be casually told it would be at least another hour!! Thats nearly 4 hours to wait for a meal! I fail to see how these time scales can be deemed remotely acceptable under any circumstances. I now have a hungry, disappointed and unhappy wife and two children to feed. Either operating with zero organisational structure or greed!!

Food was mediocre, waited 4 hours for food on mothers day. I paid at 4 oclock after being told I couldnt order at 3 because it was TOO EARLY, rang twice, offered to collect myself and was told no it was already out for delivery. So unprofessional, would not recommend and will not order from blue rare again ever! Terrible! Also cost nearly £40 for the pleasure and when I asked for a refund they said no as the food had been cooked. Lied to me repeatedly about wait time and reasons.

We got take away as it was my birthday, my daughter was supposed to get an egg with hers although I was unsure on how an egg would travel across town, however they did not send it so think menu needs looked at for take away ! Overall meal was very good, expensive for a take away but very good quality nice for an occasion i.e my birthday we had one back in July from there too and that was also quality.

Blue rare is beautiful. The food is lush and the whole team are lovely. They have gone above and behind during the pandemic and over Christmas and new year. The drivers risk themselves everyday in all conditions to deliver food out to people. I love going here and love that I have still been able to get a taste of their food through the takeaway service. Thank you blue rare 💙

Ive had my Xmas dinner delivered yesterday at a descent time. WHHAT A FEAST TO BEHOLD. Havent actually had dinner yet this. Xmas day as I have been trying bits. Delicious !!!. Cant wait to stick it (what I can eatin the oven. Sick of my dog following me around knowing something good is coming. HA HA!! This will last me days. Fantastic idea and great produce. Would have given 5 stars but the way I was spoken to on my way out the restaurant (because I had forgotten to put my mask onyoure lucky youve got 1 star. Do you not know there is a certain way you should speak to your customers. Your manner was just plain rude. Wont be back.

Beautifully made place for a nice home made dinner and/or dessert. Most of us are sick and tired of take aways: pizzas, burgers and other...Bluerare is the place to come not only with your family but also as a couple and children are welcome 🙂. You will never feel hungry after your meal. There are choices not to miss from steak and ale pie through gammon, roast to various pasta dishes. There are also vegetarian dishes and kids menu. Moreover, there is also a very good range of drinks, so you can find something for yourself 🙂. I am posting some pictures as well, so you can see for yourself.

Had a meal here as the hotel we were staying at the restaurant was closed. It was my wifes 60th and the owner did a great job in making it special.Nice surroundings,excellent food and good service.

Lovely setting, really nice food, helpful staff, went on a Thursday night so was a bit quieter, great choice of menu, enjoyed the food which I thought was reasonable in price, will be back

I ordered a Sunday lunch at evening time after spending all weekend in Newcastle RVI and having surgery. My meal and dessert arrived. The veg in the Sunday lunch had a horrible taste to it Inc potatoes, the chicken was dry. When someone phoned me back I was told I couldnt have a refund and that they wouldnt send me a beef dinner out and take the chicken 1 away. They said they would send 1 out but iwould have to pay again. I wont eat from this place I normally like food from and wont be recommending it to friends or family. Ive Put 1 * as no option for no stars but really they deserve any !!!!

Ì went to a family wedding at Bluerare. The food was very nice and the portions were huge!! The staff worked so hard and went out of the way to make sure everything ran smoothly. Hats off to all staff especially the kitchen staff. Definitely recommended, A1!!

Really friendly restaurant with a good selection of dishes at reasonably prices, they had a selection of Vegetarian meals and a good Kids menu. We will definitely be visiting again.

Went with my wife and two fiends to have as advertised on a board outside 2 x steaks plus a bottle of wine for £24.95. On entering we were told only one steak left, no sausage left, no lasagne. Never the less we sat down picked a meal each went to order our choice one of which was a mushroom and pepper stroganoff we were told no stroganoff, needless to say we walked out and went elsewhere.

I understood that the meat may have been old ordering on a Sunday late, which it was the beef was overdone and the chicken. I could have let this go, but to have found mould on the brownie chocolate sauce I was absolutely grossed out.Ive since left feedback and nobody has given me a refund, nor apologised. Seems your food hygiene practices are not very well maintained.I am still sickened now thinking about it. For chocolate to have mould on, how long has that been sat there? Seriously :/

SHOCKING!!!!! Placed my order to be told theres a 2 hour wait, when the food arrived we found out from the delivery driver that our chicken Sunday lunch and beef stew with dumpling are without mash potatoes as they have run out???? SO why would anybody send chips with a stew and think it will replace the mash!!!!????? And charge full price thinking thats ok. This use to be a brilliant restaurant but not anymore will not be back as there are better places to go that far out way this circus.

Lovely food but service for takeaways is shocking. Ordered tonight, was quoted 1hr40 mind, which is already a long time. Rang them after 2 1/2 hours to be told theyre running a little behind! No phone call to tell us that. Total time was 2hr 50 mins for 2 mains and 2 starters, one of which was a bloody salad. It was 9pm before I could put my tired 4 year old to bed. Not even remotely impressed.

Very reasonable prices, only went for a drink but staff were very friendly, clean and a welcoming environment. Would go back, pizzas looked fantastic, also has take away option.

No Guinness on tap but had cans I can live with that...food was amazing an price was just as good... its a must stop place to eat on your way up to Scotland... great food great price... Best stew an dumplings Ive ever had...

THE WORST TAKEAWAY SERVICE AND FOOD i have ever had ordered 2 sunday dinners 18.60 for 2 I had been told a wait from 1 hr to 1 hr and half after 2 fone calls 3 hours later the food arrived meduim warm and bluerares famous gravy was no more than a tub of thin Oxo. At one point I was asked do you have a microwave to heat the food up when it arrives by the lady on the fone I only live 7 mins down the road also spoke to the owner at 1 point and although he gave a refund as the food was appalling he still had a arrogance about him NEVER EVER order.from here again

Once was enough! The staff can only be discribed as unprofessional and blamed the manager for their errors. The food was acceptable but quality would be better than quantity.Plenty of better places to eat in the area!

Our party of 11 dined here and the food was great. Extremely generous portions and for those who had room for dessert they too were large. Great value for money set in a comfortable and pleasant environment.

I wish we had read the reviews before we went to the Blue Rare, it would have saved a lot of time and money. We were a group of 26, a family meeting up for Sunday lunch. The Blue rare were told it was a large group and accepted the booking without explaining that they are incapable of actually serving a group of people without a 2 hour wait. We did expect to wait a little longer being so many of us and would have been happy to have a glass of wine and a catch up with family members while waiting. We had 6 small hungry children with us and so it was a puzzling to see other groups coming in after us, eating a 2 or 3 course meal and leaving when we were still waiting for food. When questioned the staff were extremely unhelpful rude and obnoxious. After a 1 hour and 50 minute wait food very slowly began to arrive. The meals were not all the ones ordered and when we again brought this to their notice the assistant manageress suggested we were complaining because we wanted free food. This was the the final straw we asked to see the manager to which she replied "The manager owns this place and he is my boyfriend so you wont get very far complaining to him" this is the point we left the Blue Rare and I suggest if the owner wants to keep his restaurant he needs to get a new girlfriend or send her on a course in customer service as she is insulting his customers to the point of losing them. As another reviewer said Basil Fawlty would be proud.

Party of 7 and not one of us were really pleased - had a beef Sunday dinner and the beef tasted and looked like one of them beef boil in the bag !! Yorkshire pudding was burnt and the mash tasted like instant smash - service slow - £120 not worth spending in here at all!!! Really disappointed used to be so nice here

I wont be back. The manager spoke to me like a piece of dirt and then she refused to put the owner on the phone. I said I would come up and speak to him and she said thats fine and your also black listed now. Ordered the food at 3:05pm and it arrived at 6:10pm. The homemade chips came from a freezer, the well done steak was medium cooked and the sauce never arrived.

Ordered food just after 5pm last night, website said delivery could take up to 2 hours, which we thought was bound to be the absolute worst case scenario. Tried many times to telephone, to make sure food was on its way, or that the order had at least been processed, but was engaged every time. My husband finally got through to speak to someone just before 8pm, just as the delivery driver pulled up. Neither staff member apologised for the wait. I have to say, the food was delicious, but certainly not worth an almost 3 hour wait. By the time it arrived we had already had to put our son to bed - in tears might I add, he was so disappointed.

The food from bluerare is top quality - no doubt about it its the best quality and most reasonably priced takeaway you can get in the Carlisle area and ive left a couple of positive reviews in the past to reflect this.I can accept a £6.50 delivery charge as although id argue this is relatively steep for 6 miles out of Carlisle when the likes of pizza base will deliver for £3 to the same area and theres no way fuel costs etc would be that high, its good quality food and this offsets the high delivery charge.The main issue here is the system bluerare use to inform you of the delivery cost. I was under the impression you typed your postcode in at the start of the just eat app to not only identify which takeaways deliver in your area but, also, it determines how much you pay for delivery based on your postcode. Bluerare for some unknown reason have a bizarre system of appearing to charge you a £1.50 delivery fee when ordering your food. You then pay this and approximately 10 mins later, they will ring you back and, in our case, drop another £5 onto the bill. Again, the amount isnt a huge issue - its the crazy system which leaves you feeling like youve been completely mislead with the price.To avoid this, I would suggest a few soloutions:1. Put in BIG BOLD WRITING on your app during the ordering process that delivery fees vary depending on distance and maybe even state CLEARLY how much per mile you charge.2. Have an offer where if someone orders over say £50 of food, the delivery fee is either waived or reduced.As far as im aware, every other takeaway in Carlisle calculates delivery without the need for a phone call afterwards which defeats the object of using the app (unless there is a problem). Finally, although this review may seem derogatory, it is not intended too and instead has the aim of providing constructive feedback to ensure the delivery service matches the exceptional food that blue rare offer!

When we arrived at Bluerare we were greeted with the utmost friendliness and were made to feel welcome. The food was delicious with just the right sized portions to leave us feeling satisfied but without that bloated overfull feeling. Enough time was given between courses for us to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed but without having to wait too long and staff couldnt have been more helpful. The price of the evening meal was very reasonable for the very good standard of food which we received. Will definitely go there again.
