Blue Mountain Adventure Park in North Battleford
Description
Privilege
Wow. What a pleasant surprise this place is!We were starting to think we took a wrong turn and were going to end up camping in a hay field way down a crazy dirt road, but we ended up at the best campsite on our trip from Vancouver, B.C. to Pembroke, ON.I think these are the only trees and hills in all of Saskatchewan 🤣🤣 Its worth the drive out from Battleford to camp at this campground. Seriously.Other than the almost-heart attack from the giant polar bear dog, Bruno, and the black as night giant dog, Duke, coming thumping out of the bush at us in the dark... thats my only complaint and it isnt even a complaint, but it would have been nice to know they were there before they shaved 10 years off our life scaring the crao out of us. 🤣🤣🤣🤣The dogs ended up being one of the best parts of it, though. They are the friendliest giants in the world. Actually, having them around made us feel totally safe. Plus, we love animals. Bruno stayed with us our entire two days and nights, pretty much. Mia, the third dog, is so sweet. She went walking around with me the next day to check out the rest of the sites. And there are kittens popping out of the bushes everywhere! Hahaha. They also almost gave us a heart attack in the night, but it was worth the scare 😱 🤣 Theyre adorable and taken care of, fed, have housing, etc.The sites... are huge! And treed in. Theyre actually some of the nicest sites Ive ever seen. The fire pits are very nice, cute with Moose on them. The store is also cute. Lots of fun candy, board games and one of the coolest book exchanges Ive xome across, too.We did archery, are throwing and air guns. How fun! The equipment is all basic, but for beginners, like myself, or kids its fantastic. They even have a tiny little lake! Its rustic but well maintained and the staff are all extremely nice and helpful, we especially liked Kyle. Hes a great guy and you can tell he loves his job and what hes doing. Thanks for an awesome stay! We loved the entire experience 😊
MoreWe really enjoyed the archery and the arial obstacle course. Friendly staff excellent prices and loved tenting loved the experience. Thank you for a wonderful time
MoreWe had a very quiet, private and enjoyable. Everyone working over there was really helpful and great to interact with. Lots of activities to do and you can have the lake to yourself when you book the water activities. There is something for everyone to do.
MoreGood for camping and adventure activities
Beautiful place to paintball and just the scenery awsome
Could use some work, not much for matinence and the guide played in there phone the whole time
MoreEnjoyed my long weekend at amazing place without any interpretation of social media and network services.Lots of activities and good place to be and relax in cabins or organized camping sites. All the staff members amazing, helpful, friendly and loving ❤️Looking for to make more memories with a beautiful place with Hayley, Angela, Ella, and Aden and the others who I couldnt ask names.Loved the experience.Thank you all.
MoreWe have been coming here for the last ten years every summer. We always have an amazing time here. The place is clean and well organized. The rustic feel of the park is the perfect break when you want to be outdoors. We were late for check in but the manager and the staff were more than helpful to accommodate us even though they were extremely busy that day - such a good experience. All the activities were so much fun for the kids. They loved the paintball. Our kids loved the dogs on site. They are extremely well behaved and well trained. They make the visitors feel safe and welcome. I have noticed that some people complain about the dogs - the park has made it clear that this is a dog friendly park - so stop complaining and go else where instead of being a Karen. The staff and management is very much friendly and amazing. The cabins are clean and well maintained. We have stayed in all of them and love that each has its own experience.Even when visitors are being a complete ‘Karen’ the staff are understanding and very professional.Thank you Blue Mountain for an amazing time yet again! Until next time :)
MoreGreat experience. Enjoyed playing paintball
We had a family reunion at Blue Mountain about 3 years ago and everything was fantastic so much so that we booked again. Our reunion was this past weekend and its unfortunate that I need to say that it is not as fantastic as it once was.We rented a cabin and had so many ticks inside we needed to clean under beds and sofa, when doing that we swept up a whole dustpan of dog hair. We were very disappointed as we did not go there to clean before hand. The grass was so long around that cabin, did not feel cozy and welcoming at all. The expectation is to clean the cabin when you leave, a couple things that would have been nice to have would be cleaners and paper towel. Also NO Kleenex???? Our coffee maker did not work, the couch was so full of dog hair we vacuumed it but it was aweful could not get it all off. When you dont have pets it is really hard to deal with the pet hair. Our check out time was 11 we were ready to leave before 10 am but no staff to check out....we had to wait for them to show up. Seemed like lots of staff but not doing a whole lot.lastly... Advertise pets allowed but need to be leashed..... Why is it the dogs that belong to the park are not leashed and roam around? this is just not right...So sorry for the negative review but hope this helps to make some improvements to make this adventure park more enjoyable.
MoreCompletely different from the pictures and vides on website. Most of the things were out of order. There was a playground with some hanging tires and ropes that I took my daughter to play. After 5 min someone came and said you should pay for it, you can not pay here!!!! While there was no sign which shows playing with tires even need payment. Not recommended at all.
MoreI loved they way how they did zipling and the compass making and they all have obstical corsesand it so damn good i reccomend going there
MoreI visited Blue Mountain once 3 years ago for cross country skiing and it was amazing! I was disappointed this time around to find that the atmosphere was not the same. We arrived Saturday morning around 11 am to find the lodge and rental/snack shack area had a very distinct and strong sewage smell. We were staying in the Owl’s Nest cabin (above the snack shackand the smell was present in our cabin as well. This was never addressed by the staff in any way. Hopefully they can figure out where the smell is coming from and fix the issue, but until then I wouldn’t recommend staying in that cabin. The night before had brought quite a bit of snow, so when we got there around 11 the cross country ski trails were not finished being groomed and cut. This was understandable, however we were a bit puzzled as to why getting the trails cut was not the priority for the staff. Other groups who were also staying there expressed similar opinions because they were also waiting to cross country ski. We were grateful for getting an early check in while we waited for the trails to be ready, but even by 230 pm there were no classic skiing trails cut. We tried to ski on the groomed trails but it was pretty difficult. We eventually flagged down a staff member to get at least one trail cut (we thought this was more efficient than grooming all trails before cutting oneand the only trail he cut was a 1 km loop. When we woke up the Sunday morning, we hoped we would be able to do some skiing before checking out, but no more trails had been cut other than the 1 km loop from the day before. We noticed other visitors upset about not being able to ski as well. Upon our arrival, a staff member at the front desk mentioned that she would give us a full refund on the trail passes if the trails weren’t cut in a timely manner, but when we went to check out Sunday I was a bit surprised to hear that she was only willing to give us 50% off our trail passes.Overall, we just feel sad that we weren’t able to ski because that was the whole reason we came to Blue Mtn. If you market cross country ski trails, then you should ensure you have trails cut for visitors to ski. The staff working did not seem experienced in customer service and I would not currently recommend others to visit until these issues are resolved.
MoreAwesome place. Really loved the environment and we visited on a cold day (couple of days ago. Highly recommend.
MoreHad a really good time with a work group. Loved the food had good service. No complaints.Especially loved all the kitties. haha
MoreI had such an amazing time here! The staff are friendly, informative and eager to help you enjoy your trip. The campsites are very spacious and can accommodate both trailers and tents or a combination. There are trees surrounding each site giving you some privacy and the onsite store has reasonable prices for things you might have forgotten. I will most definitely be going back to further explore and maybe stay a little longer now that I know the facilities have so much to offer! Free showers, regular toilets and out houses, a swimming spot, a playground and hiking trails that are all free. Additional activities with guides and staff that want to make sure you have the best experience. Recommending this place to anyone looking for a hidden gem in Saskatchewan!
MoreIt was good place for camping but remember there is not enough garbage cans on the site (I just found oneand washrooms are not exceptionally clean as probably you expected.
MoreThere were some things we really enjoyed about our stay such as the zip lining, horse back riding and friendly staff. We had a few hiccups on the trip due to lack of communication/organization such as horse guides not being prepared for our booking (made a week prioras the office did not inform them (according to them). We also had an issue with our zip time as the large group before us showed up 45 mins later and they pushed them into our spot which was okay but it was us that had to ask if maybe we should just be put in a different time slot and come back instead of waiting. We decided to over look those problems. However.....on the last full day we were there we had a couple activities canceled by staff due to a forest fire started close by- makes sense safety first. When we went to the office later that day to check on the situation we were very clearly advised by one staff member that they were 15 minutes from walking up to our cabin to advise us to pack up and leave as the fire was no longer in control. They clearly told us that we would be fully reimbursed for those canceled activities, the firewood we purchased a few hours prior and for the last night of the cabin. They advised that it would be a couple days until we would get the refund (this was SaturdayPlease note their invoices and website clear states full refund for booking canceled by the company due to weather conditions or unsafe conditions.Tuesday rolls around we have not heard anything. I send an email to follow up on the refund we have been promised. It takes 2 days to receive a response - the acting manager does not want to fulfill what was promised. He says staff does not have authorization to make those calls on refunds and that we left voluntarily. If a representative of your business agrees to a refund you should follow through but customer satisfaction is not the managers strong suit.Terrible customer service and communication.I dont recommend.Update: my Hubby has just been told by the manager that it doesnt matter what we may or may not have been told about a refund as they cant go to the Board to ask for approval for the refund ... what a joke!Response to their Response:The issue was never if there was an official evacuation order from the fire department but the fact that your employee promised a refund for the evening. Which should be upheld. Pur leaving that night was based upon what that employee told us as we had no other information to go off of.The activities would have never been refunded if I left it up to the business if I didnt email them asking where the refund was. I had to fight for the refund on the fire wood which the manager finally admitted that okay the employee told you that but in a later phone conversation said no conversation happened and that he did it to be nice ... LMAOThere has been so much gaslighting and backpeddling from the so called manager of this company... such poor customer service.
MoreWe had a blast over the last few days at Blue Mountain Adventure Park! Horseback riding, Archery, Kayaking , Paddle boarding. The staff are amazing and they get a 10/10 😁😁😁 It is a great little getaway with a lot of things to offer for everyone. We enjoyed camping...but next time we might try out the cabins! Thanks again for everything!
MoreWe really enjoyed spending time out there during the July long weekend. Lot of summer activity with zip line, areal course, archery, many more..we stayed at the owls suite. It was wonderful with full bath, kitchen and AC. All front desk and activity staffs are very friendly and helpful. Truly recommend this place. Will visit again in winter.
MoreFirst off the zip line, archery and axe throwing were great fun features that I found to be a be better value for my money than those same featured activities in Jasper. I wish I had more time to explore this facility
MoreGreat place to bring family and gather with friends. The tubing experience was fun, cross country skiing, all-around great SASK winter experience. I would recommend making a family fun pack for winter accommodation and activities!!! This will become an annual trip! Staff are friendly and helpful! And great doggie and kitty welcome staff too!
MoreAwesome hidden spot for backwoods cross-country skiing, well groomed trails, different trails available from easy to advanced crosscountry skiing, snowshoeing and tubing available as well. Decent services and accommodations that are affordable and well maintained. Recommended for a stay.
MoreWhat a great place to bring your family or just get away from the hustle of life. The quiet rolling hills of Blue Mountain will calm your soul or come alive with adventures of zip lining, skiing, tubing, hiking, paintball, wildlife viewing, and other exciting activities. Great location.
MoreThis Campground was beautiful. Nicely treed and spaced out camping spots. Picnic tables, fire pits and grounds well maintained. The playground was excellent. Concession and gifts shop prices were good. The adventure activities, (Aerial obstacle course and Zip liningWere such a blast. We were lucky to have wind in our favour and got to ride the long zip line!! I wish I had booked zip time instead of a single zip for me and my kids! The truly greatest part of this experience was the STAFF they were amazing; on the phone during booking, the manager was so patient with me when I rolled in grouchy (she turned my mood around!and the activity staff were so kind and fun! A FULL 10 out of 10!!
MoreWe went to Blue Mountain for 2 days. Nice place to get away from the city crowd. Relaxing surronding. Lots of mosquitoes 😅.Toilet flush was not working at the Sleepy Hollow. We compalined about it. But they were not able to fix it.They assure us that next time we wont face such problem and also gave us 1 night credit for our next visit. No mobile network at this place.
MoreThe staff were kind and patient. They made sure we had an unforgettable experience enjoying the peaceful views and exhilarating zipline rides. I had my young children and staff took the time to answer all their questions even the silly ones. Staff were patient and qualified. We come back every year and each year it is fun memorable experience. I highly recommend this place.
MoreWent on a Saturday afternoon in early March. Website clearly says you dont need to prebook on the weekend. Took the treacherous road into the property. Roads werent plowed and walkways and stairs werent shovelled. Got to the chalet and even though it was within the hours they are open, chalet is closed and says to get a tubing pass at the hill. No one there and no signs or clear path to this hill so we left. No way to run a business. Youre either closed or open. If no one is working the sign at their turn off or their website or Facebook should have indicated they were closed. Not to mention not plowing their road, parking lot, or walkways is a serious safety issue. We easily could have gotten stuck or hit the ditch all because they dont maintain (or even show up totheir property. Dont waste a trip out there.
MoreTubing park was awesome!! You get to sit on the tube and ride up to the top. Great hill for the whole family. The chalet was welcoming, cozy and quite large. Food was good too!
MoreAmazing park, there is truly something for everyone. A place that a person can both feel comfortable and peaceful or exhilarated with unique activities lead by adventure specialists. My favourite space for excitement is crossing from one end of the valley to the other by ziplines. Nothing is more exhilarating than being up on the Aerial course feeling the evening breeze as the sun fades behind the hills. An experience not easily forgotten, and one that can be enjoyed time and time again. I look forward to enjoying the winter activities offered. As well as fully experiencing each and every unique cabin. Blue mountain is the kind of place that there is always something new and exciting brewing :I look forward to enjoying the parks growth, as it’s hard not to be so passionate about such a beautiful piece of earth.
MoreThe staff was INCREDIBLE! It was so beautiful out there and the activities were so much fun. We had our 11 years old birthday party out there and she said it was her best birthday ever. We spent 8 hours and the kids had fun the entire time.We have been to two bush parties as well, very chill and relaxed, epic music, food and drinks. All experiences were a lot of fun. Everything was very well organized and the staff was so accommodating😃Oh and I just have to add the zip lines were amazing and you have to try them out 💜
MoreMy most recent trip to Blue Mountain was short and sweet. I only had a little over a day to get away from the city, but it was well worth it. My cabin was beautiful, with huge windows and a sweet little loft. I spent my time there writing letters, sipping tea, spending time on the water, and getting to know some of the staff. I also got rained on while out on one of my walks, which felt perfect -- it reminded me of going to camp as a child. I intend to spend much more of my time there in the future, it is absolutely worth checking out!
MoreThe cabins are gorgeous, all themed and incredibly cozy, and the staff are informative, professional, and passionate about being out at Blue Mountain. If there were an option to give more than five stars, I definitely would.
MoreI am from Alberta and I visited Blue Mountain for the first time last week for the Bush Party. It was a horrible experience. The staff was rude and disrespectful. We went to the front desk to buy food and the girl there refused to sell us anything saying we can only buy from the event. One of the staff, Brandon or Landon at the bush party forced us to move seats four times to accommodate his friends. When we confronted him, he told us we were not VIP. Then later on at the camp sites we were harassed by drunk people who kept invading our privacy, going through our stuff. When we complained to a park employee Alissa, she told us we can leave if we cant join the party. We were scared and stayed in our camper. Definitely not coming back here. I thought this place was family friendly but the experience was anything but family friendly.
MoreWent to the park this Saturday with our group of twenty one and it was definitely not an adventure and experience was not a good one.We wanted to take our kids to the weekend summer pass event. We called a few times last couple of weeks but were told that there was no event, the only event was a bush party and we should only buy tickets for that. We told the girl and the guy we talked to over the phone that we were not interested in that but they kept insisting that we should buy tickets and we will get free camp site. I told her we wanted to book cabins for the summer weekend blast pass, but she said then we will have to pay full price for everything. It was not until i talked to some manager or supervisor that thing got cleared up who confirmed that the event was a family event and tickets could be purchased at the park along with bookings for the cabins. The summer blast event looked great and the kids were excited for all the prizes but when we got there, we were told by the receptionist girl that it was a private event. We could see the inflatable course set up and the slip n slide as well but the girl said we were not allowed to buy tickets. We showed the girl the information on the website which said that the event was public and we can purchase tickets but she told us that we can do other activities but not that event as it was management only. We asked her to get someone incharge and she said no one was around. How does a park this size function without a manager on site????? We wanted to stay the night and take part in the event but that didnt happen so we wasted 8 hours driving back and forth. So our three families left the park and went to outeredge who were more than happy to accommodate twenty one customers that Blue Mountain didnt care about. we stayed there the night and enjoyed the zip tours. Get your act together Blue Mountain, if i am driving four hours to come to your park the least you can do is try and be helpful.VERY DISAPPOINTED
MoreThis is a wonderful place. Im been working here for the past summer and it is absolutely amazing. The view is unbeatable and tons of activities for people of all ages.
MoreA hidden gem in Saskatchewan! So much to do and see. The staff are amazingly helpful and the new campsites are fantastic.
MoreAwsome 40th anniversary celebration! .Great chalet and stay in silver birch cabin.Have to take one star for cabin prices though, more expensive than the if wed booked best hotel room that would have breakfast included and much more comfortable beds!. Have to bring groceries or go to town.Take $50 off per night at least
MoreVERY disappointed with the customer service. After calling about 7 times and getting no answer... Sending an email to get an answer saying to call then no response to my second email I decided to take my group of 10 to another location and was happy to give them my business instead. I will NEVER recommend blue mountain to ANYONE. Very pathetic when we want to support a local business but they clearly dont want it. Thank you to Divide N Conquer in Saskatoon for supplying us with the fun day we tried to have a blue mountain.
MoreGreat experience, AMAZING STAFF, beautiful cabins, activities for all, movie rental, chalet to unwind and take a break, tubbing hill, zip line, skating and more!!!! We really enjoyed our stay, we stayed for a full week with 6 kids ranging from 5 to 11 years old and 3 adults in 2 cabins. We will definitely come back in the summe and winter! Again, great place, amazing wonderful staff, loved every bit of it!!
MoreAbsolutely amazing. Tomahawk throw, archery, paintball, airsoft guns, aerial high ropes course, 4 zip lines, and absolutely gorgeous accommodations. Hiking trails, lake, canoe and kayak rentals. Just an amazing place to get away and relax or get away and have an adventure. My wife, 2 dogs, toddler and I go multiple times a year. Yes its dog friendly. We just love it. Call in advance to book activities and accommodations CNA be booked online.
MoreNice little resort in the Bush. Ive visited in the summer and hiked the trails quite beautifully maintained. Never partook in the ziplines but they looked fun. Also visited in the winter and enjoyed the winter activities around. Lots of stuff to do. We stayed in the big cabin which was great. Would recommend in any season.
MoreMy favourite place to ski south of PANP.
Havent been back here since I was a kid and boy has it changed! The zip lines are a lot of fun, the paintball course is rustic and a good challenge. And I found the price of things to be decent for the amount of things you get to do! I hope to come here again for another family gathering!
MoreGreat adventures. We did 500m and 250 zip lining. 750m was closed due to wind. So call before you go there. Instructors were a bit rude. We paid for this service so they should be nice to your customers.
MoreAmazing experience! My family loves it here! There is so much to do for those that want adventure. Canoeing, hiking, paintball, ziplines, climbing wall, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, tobogganing... And thats just a few of the activities. For those who want to relax, theres nothing like reading a good book beside a warm fire in your own cozy and quaint cabin. We go to Blue Mountain every chance we get!
MoreOur cabin was super cozy and private. The managers were great and dropped off some cross country skis for us to try for free! We had a blast and cant wait to come back to Blue Mountain this summer :)
MoreBooked two Cabins and went for the weekend with friends. Everything was very affordable and we had a great time paint balling. We would definitely recommend going again as the staff was very helpful ensuring we had everything we needed.
MoreI am going on 4 summers of working out at Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventures, and what makes the job so rewarding is the different people from different situations that I get to meet. I get to meet school kids from all over Saskatchewan. Working with the kids is one of my highlights of my summer. The constant energy and annoying repetitive questions are quite honestly what makes my day better. Throughout the rest of the summer, I get to interact with many people of many different backgrounds. I have met businessmen, professors, tradesmen and women, and people young and old. I have hosted people that are zip line veterans, and people who have never zip lined before, and I can honestly say that I have never had a dull moment. Without a doubt, I can say that I have never had anyone say a negative thing about Blue Mountain to my face. They may be biting their tongue, but it may be more of the case that they are trying not to throw up as they fly over the trees at nearly 70km/hr. Or maybe they are too awe struck by our amazing view atop our 750m zip line that they cant remember what it was like to be afraid of heights. Maybe it was the paintball shot right square between the eyes (on the maskthat made them forget the fear of getting shot for the first time. Or maybe it was the charming good looks... ok, I wont go there. That was the other guy.Out at Blue Mountain, we make you forget your fears, we make you lose your lunch, but most importantly, we help you leave your stress behind. When you come to Blue Mountain, we do our best to make sure you have as comfortable stay as possible. Though nothing can be perfect in this life, There is nothing that I want more than to make sure that you have the best time possible.Everyone has their opinions about everything. And my honest opinion is that Blue Mountain is the best summer job anyone could have, and its people like you that are the reason behind my opinion.
MoreOne of the worst adventure places in Saskatchewan. There is paintball there. The road is so poor going up to the paintball course that one of the cars were damaged just climbing the hill. There was a bulldozer there so I am not sure why the road was not bladed. When we got there, I couldnt believe how bad it was. The paintball course is just a bunch of garbage hauled out into a field. Hut offers no amenities like water or a place to go to the washroom. The coveralls they gave wreaked of body odor. I am not sure when the last time mine was washed. The course is also full of gopher holes which became evident when a colleague fell in one and twisted her ankle. I am not an avid paintballer but its probably the worse of the five or so course I have been to.We tried the zipline and were put into tight and uncomfortable harnesses at the bottom of a large hill and forced to walk up the hill while the staff drove up. Some of the kids were almost in tears by the time they got to the top. No place to sit down while waiting or even shade. While the there are multiple zip lines, they arent connected and after each zip, there was more walking and climbing. Again, no cold water or refreshments on an extremely hot day. Despite being no wind, some of the people didnt make it across the zipline and had to be pulled in. I have been to Cypress Hills and this doesnt even come close to comparing. The accommodations are substandard. The stairs wobbled, the one deck I saw wasnt even close to code, despite being on the second story, the outside of the lodge featured particle board. Its not a place that inspires confidence. We did walk around a bit. The trails are okay but nothing any better than a Wascana Park or Meewasin. They apparently had bikes up there but no one offered to rent them to us. The entire experience was a poor one and it seemed like we were in the way of what they wanted to do.Of course it wasnt as if there was anyone else up there. We were all alone. You would have thought that they would have wanted to up sell us but not at all.Even if Blue Mountain was located in Saskatoon, I wouldnt go back. I definitely wouldnt drive to go there. Even the kids were glad to leave.
