Blue Lagoon Restaurant - Laotian restaurant in Louangphrabang, Laos
Blue Lagoon Restaurant in Louangphrabang
Description
Privilege
The courtyard is charming and the food is pretty good. Id skip the "cocktails". They try very hard, but the waiters have great difficulty taking the order. We used google translate to communicate. The menu is available in English, but it dors not have the Lao translation available so the waiters have a hard time. If theyd number their menu items and have both Lap and English it would be more efficient.
MoreCozy restaurant with nice atmosphere and hospitality. Food is excellent. Will definitely be back there again.
MoreAmazing place ! You’ll get lost on the menu ... a lot of options of Lao, international and insect food 😀. Must visit!
MoreThis is an amazing restaurant set in a lovely oasis in the heart of the peninsula of Luang Prabang. The garden and beautifully restored house are a great surprise after walking down the alley from the street on the northern side of the Palace. The food matches the ambience with superb Lao food and a lovely selection of European food skillfully made by the Swiss trained Lao chef who is passionate about educating people on true Lao food. A must if you wish to experience Lao food made as it should be with Western class service staff.
MoreAmazing service, and tasty dishes. We spent our Christmas’ diner here and were lucky to do so.
MoreVery nice service and atmosphere. Friendly staffs. Food is okay..a bit too western taste for us and price is quite high.
MoreWonderful service, ambiance and food. The restaurant is beautiful, a mix between traditional Lao and modern architecture/ascetics. We had cricket wrap and Luang Prabang specialties. Kids had spaghetti. Great experience and well worth a visit!
MoreWe were here for dinner, surprisingly found their dessert (sorbetis much more outstanding than the meal!
MoreWow. Such a great atmosphere. The food was excellent with plenty of choice. Apart from the conventional food there was also some really exciting alternatives. I had a Cricket Wrap as a starter and main course was Red Ant Eggs, Tuna and Caviar. Delicious! The chef and owner are both charming. I spoke with both, with the chef actually coming to our table. Please try is place.
Moredelicious food, ordered of the Laos menu, really enjoyed it. Wait staff were excellent. down side, quite expensive for laos
MoreThe food was good, but not amazing. Im happy to have tried it though.
Amazing food. Fresh and local. Good start on our visit to Luang Prabang.
Lovely little jewel hidden in Luang Prabang town. If you have time and you are looking treat yourself with a nice meal this place is def a good option to go!
MoreGreat fusion dishes served by a creative chef. Loved it.
This should not be a fine dining. They did not want to Air condition the restaurant. Quite hot to dinner at this restaurant. No spoon for soup...if you want to order the soup, you will get the normal spoon and fork..when you asked the staff..the only answer is"we dont have the spoon for soup"...
MoreThis restaurant is absolutely amazing!! I had the lamb Indian curry with wild sticky rice and for dessert I had homemade ice cream. Absolutely delicious! The quiet tucked away atmosphere was complimented by the servers that were so attentive and polite. I 100% recommend this restaurant. Lots of options to choose from, great service and yummy food - you simply cant go wrong!
MoreThis restaurant was amazing. My compliments to the chef. The service and food was exceptional. I cant wait to come back.
MoreWhat a gem in the middle of Luang Prabang! Delicious food and excellent service. Prices are well above the average in the city, but totally worth it
MoreGreat food and atmosphere!
This is a bit crazy story...O took 2 beers here, small size Beer Lao dark,20.000 kip.per bottle. Its no problem because I knew what I ordered.But. When I payed I payed 10% local tax. This moment I was already 1 month on my way in Laos, the whole country from South to the North and this was the first time I saw something like this.. I asked the waiter what it is? He said its normal in Laos.. I told him, no way man I havent met with it yet.. he told me that this is something in the Luang Prabang region... hmm because it was my first evening I believed it but later I saw by other restaurants that this was a lie... so if you want to there but its a scam...
MoreWent there specifically for the cheese fondue. The man at the door asked the chef if they can do it without alcohol; they said yes, so I sat and ordered, only to be told its not possible. Left hungry. Waste of time and money on an overpriced beverage.
MoreGood place for family. Clean and great service. Offers a mix of local and western food. Nice location tucked away from the busy streets. We went in the off season at a out 18.00. We were the only ones there for an hour but that meant we got our own waiters. Friendly staff who constantly refill your drinks.
MoreOkay Swiss-German restaurant. Nice, cosy, classy environment. Beef roll main dish was average. Ravioli okay. Cheese fondue okay (no wine). Duck a lorange so-so. Schnitzel tasty but very small portion with ridiculously huge amount of so-so fries. Good rosti. Servers only understand very simple English. Serious fly problem.
MoreYummy food and a really surprising setting!! The cheese fondue was divine! So so yummy! Really good food and nice ambience.
MoreGreat food and great service. Also good value. Enough said
Very classy restaurant. The food was Amazing food! The place was a lot nicer than we expected. We were probably very underdressed. One of the waiters noticed a fly get in my water and replaced my glass before I even noticed it. It was probably a lot more attention than I would prefer; nevertheless, We really enjoyed ourselves.
MoreExcellent dishes with wonderful atmosphere.
Very decent place....good variety of Asian and European food. Always high quality......can 100% recommend this place if you look for fine dinning....
MoreA place to relax and enjoy meals! But this restaurant havent Wi-Fi...So we are enjoy meals, drinks and talk only!!!
MoreItalian restaurant in the middle of Luang Prabang, good atmosphere during the night.I was order chef recommended menu and It was great through out the course.
MoreSuper restuarant in a lovely location. Chilled ambience, great food with attentive, good service. Recommended.
MoreAmazing food if you want to eat like your white Mum cooked on Sunday nights. Even the ‘Loas’ option may have been presented differently but tasted the same as back in Australia. I came to this country for something different - not overpriced western food. The atmosphere was lovely except for all of waitstaff. They were very attentive and should be applauded for their efforts but having more staff than customers detracts from the experience.
MoreGreat, great food. Great seating area tucked away from the street.
Great food! Nice upscale ambience! A gem in Luang Prabang at an affordable price about 25 USD per head for three course meal.
MoreGreat fine cuisine where east meets west. The chefs recommendations on the menu are rhe way to go if you cannot choose.
MoreAn upscale restaurant with professional service. Prices are a bit high compared to other restaurants but the service and venue is great.
MoreReally cosy environment with space and huge attention from staff . Restaurant located at the end of a small street . The dishes are really tasty it is a lao food but higher than the standard ones with flavours coming from lao herbs and skills from the chef . He spent almost 8 years in switzerland cooking . He knows about the european expectations from a diner. He came to visit each table to share his cooking . For 2 people with cocktails ( well doseddelicious bruschetta lao façon and 2 main dishes the bill was acceptable even if higher tjan a standard restaurant but that s well worth the dinner .
MoreGreat Laos and Vietnamese dishes, pleasant surrounding by a garden, hidden place
Very nice atmosphere and great food. Especially their steak is very tasty. Western prices.
MoreGreat cocktails, service and delicious food. Highly recommended
One of the best restaurants Ive ever been. It has everything - the ambience - amazing garden, incredible food - authentic laos food with a western touch and excellent service. Its a must!
MoreGreat food with attentive service. We are amazed by such quality food in Laung Prabang. Must go place, probably the best restaurant in town.
MoreProbably the best restaurant in town, if country. Swiss Lao chef with corresponding upscale menu. And if you are into molecular insect cooking, you can here.
MoreThe ambience at this restaurant is great. I sat outside and enjoyed the peaceful setting. The service was prompt and the waiters were attentive, however I felt like my meal was just mediocre. There wasnt much flavor to the dish, and the best part of my meal was actually the spread they give you for the bread.
MoreReally nice ambience . The food is overpriced though for its taste and quality
great food and service. a bit quiet, but cozy!
Good service. Air-conditioned place.Good ambience, but too quiet, lacking music. Grasshopper tagliatelle kinda disappointing if youre looking to try some crunchy grasshoppers. The other Luang Prabang local dishes are served in small portions, quite flavorful.
MoreA very nice restaurant with fantastic food. Good trained staff. Fast service. A perfect atmosphere. Need reservation during high season. You will be positive surprised to find such a nice place.High recommended.
MoreUpscale very nice place. But cheap! Had a wonderful dinner. Make reservations
Very good food. I never had a duck this good. Sadly we had to wait for the food for my girlfriend very long and i was finished before she could start. The rice took long too. The shakes however were fresh and delicious.
