Blue Fin Sake Bar & Sushi in Wichita

Great food and lovely ambiance. The sushi came out so fast.4 stars for the service because our waitress didnt check on us after the initial order and we had to request refills.Everything we ate was fresh and tasty. We got the salmon tempura roll and the snow white. Highly recommend!!Worth noting....the parkinglot being full could be deceptive to the fullness of the restaurant. I had to park in the parking garage there werent any spots available however the restaurant was immediate seating. Dont let a lack of parking deter you from eating here.

Stylish atmosphere! Delicious, high quality fish! The meat was tender, and light fresh taste. Tempura vegis and ice cream were also AMAZING!!

We had an excellent experience here. Our servers were amiable, and our party of eight received our food rapidly, though they may have been because the restaurant wasnt very busy during our time there. The food was superb. I would highly recommend the Mountain Roll, if you plan on getting sushi. 10/10 would recommend.

Came in to order a late lunch to go. Server wasnt very attentive. After getting home with food I found a salad with terrible color and there was no ginger or wasabi . Food was not good. Salmon didnt look appetizing and all of it was all warm. Called the restaurant but nobody was there and was told no one would be there today. Called a 2nd time and was told that I should hear from someone today but that didnt happen either. I used to really enjoy this place... not sure if/ when Ill try again

Just left that restaurant and if I could give it 0 star for the service I would. Whoever the blonde headed guy is seating people needs to be fired. I know this place does not take reservations, so I was prepared to wait a little while. We came in and he took our names and told us it was going to be about a 45-50 min wait. While sitting there waiting serval people came in AFTER us and was seated immediately. There was only 2 of us mind you. He made eye contact with us and gave us a I am sorry look. This is completely unacceptable. I have been to this restaurant before and even raved about it. We finally left after almost a hour of waiting and other people getting seated before us. What a joke! He obviously doesnt know how to do his job. I must say the service has gone down hill. They need to hire people that knows what they are doing and is professional.

15th Anniversary dinner and our first visit to Bluefin. Very fresh and tasty. Had edamame & gyoza starters. Combo A, Spider Roll, Mackerel sushi & yellow tail sashimi. Our server Jakob was very prompt and attentive without being a pest. Great food & service.

Short staffed all the way around. If you come expect a long wait time. Food is decent. You can get larger portions and better taste at other restaurants . Staff has no communication between each other so you’ll have random servers approach you asking the same questions. Overall the food was ok and the service was disoriented. Not worth the $120 I spent here. Would not come again.

Appears to largely have the same menu and food as Ninza Sushi East. The selection of sashimi is not particularly exciting. If you choose the chefs choice special, youre most likely going to get salmon, tuna, and red snapper, which is a shame. The beef bento, miso soup, and takoyaki I had were ok, but we had an issue both times we came where pretty much everything came out just room temperature, including the sashimi.

Server was incredibly knowledgeable about gluten sources as well as known cross-contamination issues. He was also chill as could be as we failed to make up our minds about what we wanted to eat.

The experience compared to our last visit was night, and day. It was great last time, but this time the food was not to my standards. I was so disappointed in the Chicken Fried Rice. It was so bland, the chicken was dry and the portion size was so tiny for $10. If its going to be that small the flavor BETTER make up for the size, but no. Im not planning on coming back unless my girlfriend really wants to.

***Diamond Review*** Updated Review...This place deserved it. It is top notch! A friend introduced us awhile ago. We have gone back many times since. They only keep getting better. Ive had Lychee Martinis in some of the most premier restaurants in Las Vegas. The Lychee Martinis here is better! Easily my favorite martini in town now. Lychee tastes like toned down grapefruit with the liquor combination, you almost get a flavor that tastes like roses smell. It is really divine. The sushi is absolutely delicious! Again, easily better than any of the sushi I ate in Las Vegas. The appetizers are great, too. They have Happy Hours there. Their wait staff is very friendly. It turns out they make your drinks. You can come here as a group, order a few plates to share, & not break the bank. The atmosphere has sort of a modern industrial feel to it. The sake here is strong & will not disappoint. Definitely a great place for a good time with friends. I am glad that one of my own hometown restaurants can put Las Vegas to shame. Go here. It is 1000% worth it!!!

I placed a take-out order and asked for extra eel sauce. I didnt get eel sauce, but I did get a hair in my sushi. The lettuce in my salad didnt look very fresh either. I have ordered from here in the past and the quality was much better before today. I am disappointed....

They do a fantastic job. The sushi is phenomenal ! The mountain roll is my favorite although they offer a great selection of flavors and ingredients to suit almost all tastes. The spicy tuna is my go-to at any sushi restaurant and Blue Fin did not disappoint

Great sushi! we ordered the mountain and an item from the baked section. So good! Seaweed salad is delicious. Beef bento box for my daughter. Quick and friendly service. Beautiful restaurant with a fun patio for outdoor dining. Looking forward to going back here to try more from the menu!

I and my bf came all the way from NY to visited my relatives and have heard about this bar & sushi so we decided to come and give them a try. When we arrived there wasn’t anyone to greet us. We patiently stood there and waited for about 10 mins and still no one came. They didn’t even look at us!!! I just felt it was inappropriate for customers to stand there and wait without instructions at all. This is def unprofessional!!!!

I dont have much experience with sushi. The first time I tried it was here. But, this is where I usually go to eat it. Its a bit pricey, so I dont eat there often, but I hear thats to be expected with good sushi. I enjoyed it so much that Ive take my kids and any friends that have never tried sushi. Every time we go, we practically clean the plates, because its so good.The staff are friendly. Most importantly, theyre patient and will answer any questions you have about the menu.Id like to try other places, but I have a feeling that Blue Fin will be my favorite

It was pretty good. The baked salmon roll was great! I took off a star because I found a bone in my salmon sashimi…

While the food was phenomenal they need more wait staff. We didn’t see a seat for at least thirty minutes while the place was practically empty and our server had so much to do she was forgetting our stuff. I asked for a pink cosmo and she had 6 other tables she was taking care of so she forgot.The server made up for her mistakes but I felt bad for her because it seemed like she was taking care of the whole place by herself.

Fish is always fresh and delicious. Reasonably priced as well. They have a wide variety of dishes, something for everyone! Happy hour is from 3-6pm everyday which offers several favorites at Great prices.

Very good fish. They have a good selection of fancy rolls but still manage to get them out quickly. My personal favorite is the Fire Dragon. Also good appetizers including edamame and really amazing crab cakes.

This place has all of the makings of being great. Sushi is great, sake selection is very nice, hibachi food tastes great...where they fall short is where a lot of businesses fall short recently. Staffing. 2 people to seat, wait and bartend. With the short staff problems, its understandable to have longer wait times and slow on refills and the like. But, where they fell seriously short was with the way they handle cleaning the tables off. Several tables were just left dirty for over 30 minutes after the guests left (never did see them cleaned before we left). We tried to stack our plates to make them easy to clear and every time the waiter came over, he just stared at them like he didnt know what to do with them. They would easily get 5 stars if the dishes were cleared every knee in a while...

The food was good. The service was lacking tho! They did try, there just wasnt enough servers to complete the services. The atmosphere was quiet and seemed to be very peaceful. They have an excellent selection of both American and Japanese Whiskeys. I really did enjoy the experience and would recommend it as a good spot to have a quiet lunch, or an early dinner before starting your night of old town festivities!

We had a gift certificate so we tried a little of everything including dessert. The hot saki was very smooth. The Spider-Man was fun but not my favorite. We love spicy tuna rolls and they were on the happy hour menu so we started with that. Delicious. Then we moved on to the sashimi special. Outstanding. I think the highlight was the Hawaiian roll. Very large pieces and each bite offered a different combination of flavors. The service was great and we loved sitting in the comfy bar seating.

Very good quality sushi for a price that is reasonable for the fresh tasting fish, very high quality sushi, again, that is very delicious.

Okay, I guess I have to add to this review! It was a few months ago when I was here before. I stay in the area when Im in town, and I like to come over here now. Prices at Blue Fin are so good! I suggest that you come here and get your eat on and your drink on! 🥢🥣🍹🍸.Today I got a Chicken Katsu to Bento box to go. My waitress was Lynn, and she was so accommodating and sweet! I had a cocktail while I was waiting for my to go food. My cocktail was called Brittneys Secret. It was delicious! I added photos to this review from what I had today.I ordered pick up and go. Never been here before. Im staying at the hotel across the street. It was really good. Im not a sushi connoisseur, but I really liked what I got. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sushi in the picture that Im sharing was not my order, unfortunately. Lol. That was for someone else. But my order was very good.

Maybe they had an off day when I went there. The presentation was very nice, but some of the sushi tasted like it just thawed. The salmon was very old, unpalatable. I ate one piece and couldnt eat the rest. Was in the bathroom in the middle of the night.

After spending a week in the desert southwest with a ton of Mexican food this was a breath of fresh air. Sushi was super fresh and delicious. Seems maybe they are suffering a bit from post pandemic wait staff shortage, but what they lacked in experience they more than made up in effort. Place got super busy at 8 on a Sunday night, but they managed to work it.

Really tasty, service was kinda slow, but they were really busy. Their Crunchy Scallop roll, Nigri, and Mochi made for a very good dinner. Try their Rouge Limeade, its a great adult strawberry limeade!!!

Everytime I go I never leave unsatisfied. Fresh water eel is great here. Sushi chefs are cool and nice. Rest of staff are also on top of things...One year later and its still my favorite place in wichita. I could eat SOOOO many octopus balls

Went there for lunch on this fine Sunday for lunch. We frequent Wasabi which is right up the street from here. We will definitely be back to Blue Fin after giving it a shot. The food was top notch amazing. We had a little bit of everything from a Sashimi salad to a couple Tempura options. The Banana Tempura desert was a huge hit with the wife. Solid experience for any Sushi lovers.

I really enjoyed my date night with my wife at the Blue Fin Sake Bar & Sushi Olgas! The wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! I loved the Baked Salmon spicy roll! We definitely will return!

Amazing experience from the food to the service to the drinks. The hostess was the epitome of excellence and I have zero complaints. I HIGHLY recommend the crab cakes and the gyoza for appetizers. Baked lobster roll, crab family roll and the shrimp tempura crazy roll🤤🤤. I would have wrote this review sooner but I went to sleep from eating so much when we got back to the hotel. Lol.

This is by far the best sushi bar I have been to in Wichita! The service was great and the food was amazing! A sushi roll I found here that I have not seen at other sushi bars is the "Snow Coconut Roll" with Peanut Butter as one of the ingredients. I look forward to eating here in the future.

Great food at reasonable prices. We tried several different sushi rolls. All of which were nicely prepared and tasted great. The service was prompt and polite. We also tried a Sake flight which was a fun way to try a few different Sakes. The DJ appetizer was also very tasty and came out quickly. Well definitely stop by again when were on Wichita.

Fast and friendly service. Thou it is @4pm on a Monday, guess we missed the rush hour. Appetizers was good. Love the crab cakes, burst with flavors! Shumai was okay, a lil plain. We ordered Fire dragon rolls, Sexy rolls, Tuna sashimi. They were all really good. My favorite was the Tuna Sashimi. Will definitely be back.

Very fresh tuna. Melted in my mouth. I also got the new Hibachi chicken. Maybe a touch over cooked but still good flavor. Other friends got lots of different rolls. Drinks great. Staff very friendly.

Service was good. Was sat at our table pretty quickly. Server got our drinks and explained their special. Didnt take long to order our first set and overall food was good. Was able to have lunch and be in and out to get back to work. Preferred the Fancy Dragon Roll out of the two rolls pictured.

What is the deal!? Super white and red snapper swimming in sesame oil. That’s all I tasted. Yellowtail, saba, and ikura swimming in Ponzu. I’m here for the fish, come on. What are you hiding. $70 bones and this is what you serve. Nothing escaped the sesame oil and Ponzu. Ruined...all ruined. My server was great by the way—very attentive. I passed along my displeasure but it fall on deaf ears.

My family and I have been to Blue Fin before, but I knew I had to go back in July since they were doing half priced rolls at lunch. I am delighted that they have chosen to extend that promotion! I will certainly be back again soon! My husband and I shared 3 rolls while we were there and my son had a chicken yakisoba bowl. All of our sushi was sensational and really hit the spot! The crunchy tempura shrimp roll was our favorite. The baked roll was quite a sight coming out on fire! Ive had their fruit sake before on previous occasions and loved it! Especially the flight where Im able to try several different flavors. This restaurant is a little spendier than other sushi spots in the greater Wichita area, but the half price lunches help. It was a delicious lunch and Im sure Ill be back again soon!

This month is half-price sushi for all month. It was clearly under staff as there were very long line waiting. We had to wait for drink and meal too long time.Nevertheless it was worth to wait when we received food on our table. The sushi dishes were amazing and very good! I will visit there again in next time for sure!

The sushi here was amazing! I was a huge fan of Ninza for several years before it burnt last year. I was extremely pleased to hear that the owners of Ninza bought Blue Fin this Spring. I eagerly awaited the reopening of Blue Fin and finally got to go this past weekend. It was Ninza only better!They added the Ninza flair to Blue Fin and they complemented each other perfectly. They combined the two menus into the best that both restaurants had to offer. The plating which was already spectacular is even better now. This site adds a full-service bar and a lot more seating. Many of the old Ninza wait staff are providing great service once again at Blue Fin. Its like going back home!The food here is amazing, the service is excellent, and the facility is clean and robust. Its perfect for a date night, large groups, or even a meal by yourself. Its within walking distance of all the attractions that Old Town has to offer. You wont be sorry you came here for your sushi cuisine! 🍣😍🍣😍

This place hasnt been open long but we have been multiple times. The atmosphere is lovely, the sushi is delicious, and the drinks are great! Blue Fin Saki Bar & Sushi is our favorite sushi place in Wichita!
