Blue Elephant Restaurant - Thai restaurant in Springfield, United States
Excellent Thai food - a big step above the usual Thai joint, but still very fairly priced. The place is v nice with a nice long bar that is set up for eating as well as tables - food elegantly presented and very flavorful; just the right amount of heat - accurately indicated on the menu. Highly recommended by a Thai food aficionado that has eaten in Bangkok too
This place has the best authentic Thai food in the area! The place is cozy and the staff are super friendly. If youve never had thai, then get the pad thai or pineapple fried rice and the sampler for apps. I dont like curry, but my fiance loves it, and he has tried at least 5 curry items they have there and has never not liked one of them. Also, try the Thai iced tea... its sweet and strong and delicious.
Great food and service. Beautifully presented entrees and appetizers.
Keeping a restaurant going these days is hard. Inflation and covid reluctance are a drag on business. This was a pick up order for 8 people. Order was placed online the previous night. The pick up time was 11:30. We did not get the order until 11:50. The food was good and freshly prepared. Quantity was large. Request for "nuts at the side" was thorough.
Make a reservation, this is one of the 2 Best Thai restaurants in W.Ma.
Freindly waitress and delicious food ! Love it !
My red curry with crispy duck was DELICIOUS.
Great Thai restaurant. Frequently order take out, sat down inside a week ago for the first time.
The atmosphere was absolutely lovely! I loved the decor and the overall atmosphere it was very calming. My friend and I both had some tea to really relax but that all changed when the food came. THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD ALMOST TOO GOOD TO BELIEVE! Me and my friend never had Thai food so this was not only new but amazing! We ordered the elephant sampler and the set up was very beautiful with a little flower it was almost too pretty to touch but my God once we ate it with the different sauces we were already sold (he loved the soy sauce and I was crazy over the peanut sauce). I had the Kao Soy tofu noodles and the broth was so creamy and not to sweet but just enough leaving me wanting more. The tofu was crispy on the outside but on the inside it was very soft the texture reminded me of a toasted marshmallow. They were like little clouds in my mouth. My friend had the chicken drunken noodles and he immediately took pictures and looked at me shocked after one bite. He ate the entire plate and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had to take mine home to enjoy later. After it all we wanted some desserts and got the Thai custard. This custard was so good I had to call my mom after the meal and tell her about the place. The staff was also so very sweet, me and my friend felt so welcomed and even though they were closing they let us enjoy our meal and didnt mind us taking our time which we were very thankful for! All and all this is a hidden gem and me and my friend will absolutely be coming back here. Now that my family is aware of this place no doubt will they check the place out with intrest! Also I apologize for the long review this is my first and I only wrote it because this place was too good to not share.
I love this restaurant and have been coming here regularly for years! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the food is delicious! I have dined in many times as well as picked up takeout from here and I’m never disappointed:)
Delicious really fresh food every time we go. We have not been disappointed.
Excellent!! Beautiful restaurant . Friendly servers.
This is my absolute favorite Thai restaurant! I dont think Ive ever ordered something from here I didnt like. I try and always get the Soft Roll appetizer, but you gotta be quick! Once theyre gone, theyre gone for the night! Everything is made fresh and so delicious. Thai Iced Tea is a must! Im also quite partial to their curries. Theyre so flavorful, theyre sure to not disappoint. Save room for dessert because the Mango with Sweet Sticky Rice is sooooo good!
We have been to the place several times and the food is amazing. They are always fast and attentive and the ambiance inside is great. Highly recommended
Not only my favorite Thai restaurant on the planet, its my favorite restaurant on the planet. Food is incredible. Have never had a bad meal here. Pad krapwraw. Pad Thai. Apps. I know Rangoons are not Thai food but they are the best I have ever had. Service is great. And if you havent had the Thai coconut custard then you havent lived
I never tried thai before, not big fan of asian restaurant, and i can say the blue elephant definitely is now one my favorite Asian spot to go!The food is relatively simple thai/American but prepared with care, generous portions, never greasy or bad surprise after you eat, the menù is satisfying, staff is very cordial and location is nice…definitely a place to visit.
Quick, friendly service without feeling rushed. Noi was amazing! Good was fresh and hot. And delicious! And that unsweetened tea.....YUM.
If you’re looking for a great Thai restaurant in Central Massachusetts, be sure to eat at the Blue Elephant. This was a great find! Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating has umbrellas to block the sun. I ordered drunken noodle… Amazing quality and just the right portion. It came with lots of veggies. Staff are great. I hope to return when I’m back in the area.
Really wasnt happy with the service. We felt like we were an inconvenience to the waitress and rushed to order food. Food was good. Happy to see other people had a better experience than us.
Wonderful, excellent food, fresh tastes in traditional style. Helpful and friendly staff.
Quiet and quite pleasant! No hubbub, no clattering dishes...just a peaceful meal, with attentive wait-staff and good food.
Waiting for orders seems to be expected with Blue Elephant. We ordered at 545pm; they said our order would be in 30 minutes. My spouse arrives and is told to wait. They take payment, someone else comes out to ask to wait another 30 minutes, the manager then comes out to say the restaurant gave our order to someone else, but they will remake our order. In total, it took us over an hour and a half to get takeout. It shouldnt take almost 1.5 hours. They lost our business. And to add our food was cold.
We love everything about this place. Excellent Food, service and friendly staff. We live pretty far away, but we make the trip because of consistent awesomeness. The place is clean, the staff is SO friendly and we really feel comfortable and welcome. The food? No question, absolutely authentic and DELICIOUS. Try the Tom Yum Koong soup,…. Perfection! Went back today for my birthday lunch. Once again - TEN STARS.
Excellent food, everything is good, and I would say this is,a,great Thai restaurant, but they never give you enough rice with your meal. You pay $20.00 for a meal and get a childs portion of rice & then you have to order more rice ( because you never get enough rice on your orderand they hit you another $4.00 for another very small undersized portion of rice, & the prices here are not cheap to begin with. But I have been to many other Thai restaurants and they also do the same thing,, and they 100% know this is not enough rice & you are going to have to ask for more & I am sure this is done intentionally and is there way of getting you. Also if you order anything like a sauce they charge you for it too. On most American restaurants they give you something for free ( lime bread & buttersome places give you popcorn or peanuts, some places give you olives or pickels. Even the Chinese ( as cheap as they are give you those crunchy noodles with some duck sauce or tea. These people here charge top dollar and give you nothing. If you order $100.00 worth of food & ask for some peanut sauce to go with your meal you will be charged for this. I am not complaining, & I love this place & I will be back again, and the coast of the sauce is not a lot, but imagine buying a cheese burger at a American restaurant and asking for some mustard or manayose, or ketchup for your French fries & being charged for it? You walk in with 3 people and walk out spending $100.00 they should not be charging you for a little sauce for your meal. Not bashing this place, and again the food & atmosphere are top notch, and the old saying goes you do get what you pay for, but I do not think giving you a 3 ketchup packet size of peanut sauce is going to hurt these people with a meal purchase do you?
My husband and I dined in, the restaurant was quiet, intimate, clean but, cold. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal! We will be visiting again!
Great food and great staff! They left the doors open and waited for me after closing so I could pick up my order. 10/10
First time ordering. Masaman curry with chicken and sticky rice. Expected the curry to be thicker. But the taste was amazing!! Very yummy meal. Will be coming back. Wish they had smaller lunch portions. I have to freeze some for another day. Their curry is a lot. Which is a good thing.
We had lunch today 11/18 and food was good and Thai beers good too but place was almost empty!Suggestion-Have a lunch menu different from Dinner with not more than ten to twelve selections in total with smaller than dinner helpings and your business will go thru the roof and that will also improve dinner traffic too!Service was good and waitress pleasant and quick!Good luck
Great, authentic Thai food and staff. The menu is easily accommodated to be vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free which is a huge plus. The restaurant is clean and freshly renovated. A meal takes about 30 minutes to come to the table on a busy night. Most of the ingredients are made there and every plate is made fresh for you. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to try something different.
Good portions at a great price. The actual food was ok, I truly enjoyed the Thai jerk pork as the appetizers. The Muslim Curry had a few undercooked potatoes but very tasty.
Delicious food prepared in an artful way. Blue Elephant serves the best Thai food I have had in Massachusetts. The ambiance is 5 star as well.
We ordered takeout at 518pm on a Tuesday night. Told would be ready in 30 minutes. My husband went up for 30 minutes and sat outside in his car for an additional 45 minutes So total of 75 minutes for our food to be ready. My husband called in to see what was going on and they said they were very busy. Table of nine. Of course when he pulled up he paid. He said that other cars came after him for pickup and received their food. I called and asked to speak to the manager who just kept saying they were busy. I asked why are people getting their takeout that arrive after us and my husband has sat out there for 45 minutes. She just kept saying they were very busy. I asked for a credit of some of the food. She said she couldn’t do that. If you are that busy then stop taking orders and take care of your current customers. $78 order. Two soups, two chicken curry and an appetizer shrimp tempura (shrimp was cold snd soggy). Soup and curry dish hot. Not a good way to do business. We have been faithful to them but we will not order from them again. Poor management A previous time, My friend and I went one evening and were rushed through our dinner. We were enjoying our shared dessert when we were told people are waiting for our table. We were not there that long at all. That was the last time I ate in the restaurant and now this. Sorry. I will support another restaurant in our area, in the future. Disappointing.
Our family ordered the Blue Elephant sampler (a small serving of various appetizerspad thai, as well as a ginger dish called Pad Khing. Yes there are options for different types of rice as well as different various proteins (i.e tofu, chicken, vegetables, etc. Flavorful food and kind staff .By he way there is indoor as well outdoor seating unfortunately we were pressed for time so we used the take service. Our food was ready at the time promised. Thanks again
Visited on a weekday during lunch, no "lunch menu" pricing. The Blue Elephant Sampler appetizer consisted of 2 each mini-versions of each item on a small dinner size plate for $14.95. We couldnt believe it! Pad Thai was tasty, w/7 large shrimp, $16.95. OK, but not what we expected to pay for lunch. Service was very sloowwww. Looked like only one server for inside and the patio. Pleasant atmosphere, clean.
Absolutely one of the best Thai restaurants weve ever been to. Love the food but definitely returning because of the service weve received everytime whether dine in or to-go. Its ?
It was my first time here and I must say it wasnt the best . The waiters took forever . They cleaned tables instead of taken care of customers. They didnt bring out food out at the same time app and main course . My food was so so. I had to ask for fried ice cream 3 times.
Waited over an hour and half to get takeout. Ordered at 609pm was told 7. Now 730 and no food yet. Use to be slow now last time we will order. Shouldn’t take almost 1.5 hours, seen other people also waiting and upset. Again this place use to be a good go to, lost my business.Update: entrees and soup were hot the rest of the almost 90 dollar order was cold.
Gets better and better with every visit. The yum yum soup is amazing as is everything I have had.
Their drunken noodles with chicken (made extra spicyare my favorite! They have a delicious Thai custard for dessert too. Atmosphere is very inviting and the staff is attentive and kind to us every time we go. Love coming here!
It was very different but oh so delicious and theyre very kid friendly
We ate there Sunday night. Two of the people In our party had eaten there before. They spoke highly of the restaurant. The food was fabulous prepared by a Thai chef. Our food was served as we ordered; it arrived hot. Serving size generous. Service was second to none. Atmosphere authentic. Tastefully decorated. We all agreed that we would be going back to the Blue Elephant in Wilbraham to have dinner again.
I love this restaurant. The food and service is fantastic. The curry is my favorite
First time in. Played it safe with pad Thai. Delicious! Got an app sampler with chicken satay skewers Thai Rangoon spring rolls. And a side of chicken dumplings that we found were hand rolled fresh for dinner service. Had a Thai iced tea to wash it all down.Excellent service. Very accommodating encouraging questions and giving detailed answers. Worth the $70. Will absolutely be coming back.
4 stars because Im not a huge fan of thai. But its beautiful place. Such nice staff. Recommend if you like thai.
So good!!! We went looking for something different and we thought the food was excellent and service was fantastic and very friendly. I highly recommend
Absolutely delightful! Service was delicate, polite and professional. I ordered traditional pad Thai with tofu... on point! Every bite was perfectly sauced, hot with right amount of crunch! Def recommend this place if you love PadThai!
Brand new restaurant for Thai on Boston Rd. The ambiance was very nice and very clean. The wait staff very friendly. It is so delicious that I have been twice already. One thing, the peanut sauce is sooo delicious, you must try it! All the food was so good both times weve gone. I cant wait to go back again.
We tried the Blue Elephant for dinner for the first time tonight. The service was excellent, (the servers were very attentive and helpfuland the food was great. We were seated right away and had very little wait time before our meal came out. We found it to be very reasonably priced as well. Great atmosphere too. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant. Looking forward to the expanded kitchen and outdoor seating.
Amazing authentic Thai food at super reasonable prices! The food is large portions and smells and tastes amazing. It is 9ne of the only authentic Thai food places in the area and youd be doing yourself a dis-service not to try it.
There was an extremely long wait with nowhere to sit while waiting. Once past that, though, the experience was excellent. The staff were very pleasant and patient despite my soured mood from feeling hungry and waiting. The bar is pretty good and moved very fast and attentively despite only having one or two people handling the entire bar section. The food was authentic but, more importantly, delicious. This pleased me so much and was easily worth the wait. Despite the rapid and attentive pace, I think the reason why there was such a long wait might be because of the layout or small size of the restaurant. The people working were clearly efficient and attentive, so i have to think it has to be the capacity limits. I highly recommend eating here but be prepared to wait. It is worth it!
