Blue Diamond Beach and Spa Resort - Market in Winneba, Ghana
Great place for a nice getaway from Accra, great service, nice food and very nice sceneries at the beach and a great hostess! PS: ask for the bonfire
Neat beach , good food, great customer service
Very lovely place. Was here 2015 and today too was great. Will always recommend
Any reason why you don’t pick your calls , if strictly by reservations then you have to keep your phone close to you.
Worst place to visit!! Never seen such zero hospitality in my life!! You can’t even enter the gate if you don’t have a reservation! What nonsense is that? Why don’t you allow walk in customers coming all the way from Accra just to have lunch? What’s so precious Inside, that walk in customers have to be turned away at the gate?? Ridiculous behaviour by the lady manager who spoke on phone!! Will never visit or recommend this place to any one again!!
After three years... Setting and Service as excellent as always. Location access is a challenge though. A bumpy 5km mud road leads to the facility.
We drove 30 min on a horrible road to enjoy lunch. At arrival they ask us for 80 to even get in to the resort and access the bar. Don’t go here!!!
Stephanie is the best! Another fabulous weekend! With a mixture of our own food and drinks plus Blue Diamond grill. I love the way she keeps tabs on everything thats going on using WhatsApp. The bonfire on the beach was awesome and the early morning swim fantastic. Departure cocktail divine! Cant wait to go back
Hidden gem💎Blue diamond resort has a amazing beach. Lots of palms. Clean rooms with showers. Nice patio to sit on for the nicest views. Birds and lots of nature. No loud music or rowdy crowds ..definitely a plus.Easy to find and hard to leave.
We were at Blue Diamond Beach and Spa Resort for a weekend, we found a very clean beach, good food and great service. Definitely we will go again.
For me its my favorite hideaway beach! ,cleanest beach, food was good, the cluster of coconut trees 😍
Mosquitos in the roomFlies all over the placeInsects in the bed (yes, in the bed)Owner super unfriendly and does not care about the guests. Didnt even try to assist.During the night there is no one to assist if something happens.I came withy wife and slept maybe 4 hours because of the mosquitos.Really not recommend.. photos are misleading, we really didnt expect that from a German hotel manager.
I came with my husband for a relaxing night at the blue diamond and was attacked in my room by 100 mosquitos. My husband needed medical attention during the night and no one was there to assist, not even with a first aid kit.The owner didnt even ask about it in the morning.Rooms are equipped with a specific glass that attracts birds and Around 5 am small birds just knocked my window so hard we werent able to sleep. We slept 4 hours roughly on a vacation night. Many flies were around when we had breakfast. The place looks nice but not everything that shines is gold.Really bad experience overall mostly because of the lack of availability and caring from the owners.Highly NOT recommended.
Great stay at a beautiful resort! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the host was very welcoming : 5/5 would recommend!
Beautiful beach and good food.Rooms: There are 13 double rooms, some of them that communicate with one another. Rooms cost approximately 700 GHS per room per night. Comfort includes air conditioning and hot running water.Reservation: It is necessary to make an advance payment to book them. In Ghana, this means going to the bank to deposit funds on the resorts account.Amenities: The pool is very nice. There are also outside showers to wash away the beach sand. The beach waves are ok for body boards but not for surfing. The water and beach are relatively clean. Watch out for the uneven seafloor and the riptide though.Food: Food is very good. Indian dishes are not very spicy. Breakfast is included for 2 people per room. Anyone extra needs to pay 30 GHS per breakfast. Nescafe included and you can pay extra for espresso, cappuccino, etc. Make to order your food well in advance as it can take up to 90 minutes to arrive. Note: Food from outside is not welcomed at Blue D.Ambiance: Even when full and with outside daily guests, the place is relatively quiet.
Didn’t actually get to stay as we had last minute change of plans but the whole reservation process was absolutely outstanding. Hots were very responsive throughout. I travel a lot through West Africa and there is a lot to be said about good service and this place has it! There are a lot of nice places that you end up having a terrible experience because of the awful service. I will definitely be booking with them again for my next vacation because I can trust that they will do an awesome job of making my experience memorable
Very friendly welcome. The atmosphere was just as we expected. It is a good idea to stock up on food, drinks and snacks. They advise you do. The resorts food is a bit pricey but delicious. The beach is a clean long stretch. We will definitely visit again.
I go there occasionally to while my Sunday afternoon.Food is greatBeach is private, very clean and neat. You need to pay something little to get into the premisesRoad to the place is terribleYou have a choice to swim in the pool or the seaNot crowded at all.
Awesome family atmosphere, their service is great , very neat place showers and changing rooms available, clear crystal water , ask for Stephanie shell make sure you have a great time ! 👍🏽
OMG I love love everything about Blue Diamond! We chose there as our final destination for our honeymoon and we werent disappointed. They have rooms that are beachfront and we were lucky to get one of those. The beach is one of the cleanest beaches in Ghana- have swings and shades for your relaxation and night beach moments.Food is very very nice 👌. Highly recommend for your romantic time out or friendsversary!
Nothing beats hanging out by the beach. Nice clean beach. The service was okay too. Had a great time. Would visit again.
It was far from Accra, traffic with kids. But we got there and we forgot everything. Beach is clean. You dont have to look out for annoying rubber bags. Well organized place.
I have nice time there with my friends I like it the rooms is clean and nice looking.
I would actually give this resort a two star, but as we stayed there during their soft/partial opening after the Covid lock-down I will go with 3 stars. The website and prices certainly has one expecting a resort worth revisiting. However, in reality it fell short. On enquiry, it was explained that due to the resort being in partial open mode, the restaurant was not open, however there were BBQ pits for self catering. We were to take all our own food and drinks with.. (No crockery, cutlery or BBQ utensils were supplied)The pool and beach areas were lovely and clean. The hammocks, swings, loungers etc along the beach front were lovely and well maintained. The rooms are in desperate need of help :-The beach front room that we were in, was in dire need of a repainting, and was not cleaned properly. The window frames are rusting. The furnishings - the absolute bare minimum. (A bed, a small table on one side of the bed, a built in clothing area with a rail, and a built in raised platform on which the fridge was situated.)The curtains extremely difficult to pull and so long that they are a safety hazard.A small fridge. It was so small that it literally only held 6 juice or soda cans (300ml), and a couple of small bottles of water. No drinking water was provided, and there wasnt any for sale at the resort.A kettle was provided - but am not sure why, as there were no mugs or anything to make a hot drink in.The bathroom had either toothpaste, shaving foam or some sort of white cleaning material left on the wall near the wash basin, and generally seemed to need a very serious clean.Bedding, towels and complimentary shower gel and shampoo was provided. We discovered that the resort does not have a trash pit, when, while out walking, we discovered all our weekend trash thrown out into a heap at the one end of the property!(Sadly the amount of plastic and trash in the sea and washing up on shore is one of the disasters of Ghana. This, plus the use of the beach as a toilet, is not conducive to the tourism industry).
The place is excellent with its immaculate view.the price may be expensive based on each others opinion, but yes its worth it. Staff is friendly. But u would suggest if they are attentive to customer..thats all. Rest is crazy.
Serene beach atmosphere, great for enjoying the outdoors in peace and relaxation
Beautiful beach. Friendly waiters. Food is good and quite a variety. Very laid back in a good way that makes you very relaxed.Coconut trees everywhere in case you need shade. Nice constant breeze that makes you sleepy.A place I would like to be at when I am stressed from work and people!
Very nice place. Beach is very nice. Service is ok. During peak times you need to order food in advance for when you would want to eat. Rooms are good and clean but are very dim. If you plan to reach a book at night, you need to bring your reading light. Food is very good. Tatstes superb. Portions though compared to price could be a little bit bigger. It was my 1st time there and Im definitely going on. Stephanie the lady in charge was very nice and helpful.
This is the most beautiful resort Ive visited in recent times. Clean and serene beach front. Nice pool, fantastic ambience, great sunset, and wonderful staff - at least the guy that handled us. The only downside is their food menu. Its okay for expatriates I think but a no no for any Ghanaian palate. The manager was however very affable, resourceful and accommodating. She didnt take offense when we complained about the poor food rather acknowledged and promised to take action. Before you leave, take pictures at the reception entrance with the flowers and towering coconut trees as back drop! Youll thank me later. Ill surely do it again!
Spent Thursday night at BD with friends that were visiting us from the UK. Despite the odd rain shower it was still a lovely place to be. Food was great, as it was the last time we went. Owusu looked after us for the day/night, very attentive. Managed to get a lovely pic of the sun coming up Friday morning and one of the sun setting on the Thursday night.
We went there on Easter Holiday. The environment is okay, clean and quiet. But unfortunately the food we are taken there is terrible: very very slow, expensive and very very small. And the taste is not good.
I passed by this place on my way to Accra from Berman Asikuma. Its Probably the neatest beach resort in the country. They have guards around all the time. The environment is serene and calm. You have to pay entrance fee regardless of whether you will buy anything or not when entering the resort. The prices of their food is on the high side and their menu is deficient of local Ghanaian dishes.Access route is untarred and can be worse during the rainy season.
Lovely beach.... Sea food platter is a must... Cocktails really need to be worked on. And if you are paying by card make sure you are being billed the exact amount.
Great relaxing beach. A bit on the pricey side
Serene atmosphere but not very impressed by facilities. No wifi available.
Im Clifford Selorm. I brought my friends from Czech Republic to this place after the Czech ambassador and her friend recommended it to us. I must say, they have an Outstanding service , friendly workers and superb environment. Im definitely recommending and bringing more friends here soon again. My only problem is no wifi and quite expensive rooms. But i think their service is worth the price
I went here with my now husband. The place was very nice and clean. The only thing was the drinks that I order didnt taste good so I had to go show them how to make it lol . But beside that our food was really food and I cant wait to return
Had a family day out which was totally enjoyable because of the child friendly nature of the environment. Nice sand beach with an extensive shallow area also loved the hammocks and the calm atmosphere without loud music, food prices were competitive, waiters were attentive, life guard was friendly, changing facilities were clean . Having Sid all this, the chef needs to work on the food , although we waited for a long time for our order, all that we ordered did not arrive together. Not sure why perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed.Seconondly, signage to the venue was rather sparse because on the main Winneba road approaching from Accra, the only sign we saw was one abrupt sign at the junction where we had to turn right on to the unmarried road. This could be improved by providing signs and distance information earlier on. Also once we took the right turn off the main Winneba road we had no idea how long we were going to travel on untraced country road for. Again it would have been helpful to have signs - at least one - after the main one on the junction to inform drivers of approximate distance to the location. My overall view though is that it is a great location with a clean beach, facilities and service but you need to work on the points above to get even better. I have already recommended the place to others and we hope to return next time we are on holiday.
I love the environment and food. The waiters are slow in serving and I dont understand why they charge entry fee, while they know the person will still buy food and drinks. Its a cheat
Poor customers service. My friends and I wanted to have a weekend getaway so we choose this venue. Everything was going on good until we saw feces in the pool. The supervisor on duty started arguing with us. He even asked if in my house the feces floats or it settle at the bottom.
Very clean beach and good service, food wasnt bad either. The road to the beach was bad and I would suggest a directional traffic sign to indicate how many more kilometers until destination. Our family enjoyed it, see u next summer Blue Diamond:)
Excellent place to chill out with friends! Good food and beautiful view. The director has a good business orientation even when facing staff challenges! And with a smile! Worth the drive from Accra!
A great break away from accra. Aircons work, everything is well maintained. The beach area is so spacious with plenty of hammocks and chairs. Service attentive.
Beach as any other in ghana, beautiful but wild. Nice hike to nearby village. Rooms are too basic for the price you pay. Way too basic!Food is ok.
We were 4 of us and had gone for one night on the weekend. The property is very well located just across the beach and well spread. The beach is clean and well maintained. Few hammocks have been placed and lots of chairs, tables and day beds/loungers are spread across. Food options have Indian vegetarian meals as well.We were served by Kwesi for our entire stay. He was always at our service with a smiling face. The rooms that we stayed in was average and basic. The lights were very dim, the curtains barely covered the door and windows and one can see easily into the bathroom from the main door as they both have transparent glass. If possible, the resort can make few changes and make it better.Except for the room stay, the experience was great for one night stay.
Great setting, good food, nice rooms and a friendly staff all the way from booking to checking out, for a reasonable cost. There is the final 15mn drive off the main road to bear, out if the total 2 1/2 hour trip from Tema, but its worth the effort.Happy customer. Definitely coming back!
Waiting service is 100^.Rooms not as high end as the rates lol.Beautiful clean beach, hammocks and great sea food. The spa is good too.
Your Reception staff not talking kindly. I feel he should answer smile with nicely to answer all requirements for customers . We enjoyed the place always nice location
Quiet place with beautiful clean beach. The place is in small bay and thanks to it there are small waves and almost no garbage in the water, plus the water has good temperature. They have also small and nice swimming pool just next to the bar. Perfect place for relaxing. Staff is nice and food is perfect. Till now this is my favourite place in Ghana
Ideal place for long weekends. Great beach, great staff and excellent food. Not recommended for children at night, theres nothing much they can do.
