1611 Habersham St, Savannah, GA 31401, United States, Savannah
Chill eatery with a bar & covered patio serving smoked BBQ fare, tacos & Southwestern sandwiches.
Very down to earth place, the server was friendly, one star goes to them. Table was wobbly and sticky. Food takes a long time to come, you’d think it was going to be something great. NO, amount of food and the presentation was not worth it! $13 pork sandwich with buns almost white, set on top of newspapers print paper, tasted ok. $11 for 2 tocos with a few fried shrimp with some chopped tomato cubes, sorrier looking then some fast food restaurant - which I wish I did! I don’t understand how it gets a 4 star review.
I have been here a few times. The service is extremely slow and food came out ice cold. One time it took service 25 minutes to bring my table water. Food was fine but not worth the wait.
This will be my first and last time going here. The 3 stars are for the friendly service. The food(approximately 30 minstook forever to come out, and when we got the nachos the meat was cold. The types of barbecue sauces all had similar flavors. Overall the food was okay, the street corn was probably the best item on the menu.
Food is good. Vibe is great. Here for work, and definitely happy I stopped here.
I would say this place has really great BBQ and great sauces. We ordered a full rack of ribs and brisket. Both were cooked to perfection since they have an in-house smoker. Seating was ample, the chips were amazing. The fried dill pickles were amazing as well. Our waiter was very nice she helped us with different sauces and recommendations. My husband and my 8 month old son loved the food and so did I. We had left overs which we enjoyed that night for dinner and it was just as good. When we return to Savannah we will definitely make a stop here again.
Food was okay, none of it was hot. The manager was very, very rude- she made it clear she did not need our patronage (nasty, rude attitude the entire time- even talking about us while one of our girls was refilling her drink). Our server was a young man that was the bright spot of our experience. He was wonderful, friendly, helpful, and attentive. We will not go back but we are happy to have had our excellent server!
I came here specifically for the fresh fried pork rinds and pulled pork fondue and it did not disappoint!! Used to be at East End Provisions, so glad to find it here. Pulled pork was flavorful and the collard greens were the perfect blend of spice, sweet, smoke, and salt.
We enjoyed our food and the prices are not high either. You should drop in if you are in the area and give it a try.
Best variety of Southern style food ever! And Dog Friendly!!! Traveling through the state and searching for a place that we could get some local food and sit with our dog. Went down by the river first - but being summertime in Savanna it was crazy busy, crowded and no parking available. So when we went back a few blocks we found Blowin Smoke, we decided to try- and it was an amazing experience! Food came out so fast and everything is made from scratch! Portions were huge- and fresh! The fried dill pickles are a meal alone! Lol! incredibly impressed and so grateful to have found this pet friendly restaurant! Will stop back through every time we travel this route!
The menu is huge, and we wanted to try everything, so we shared the holy smoke platter which comes with ribs, brisket, and chicken. The ribs were good, chicken was great, but the brisket serving was skimpy. For sides We got mac and cheese (awesomeand fried pickles which were SO GOOD.
I ordered the Beef Rib. It was charred. Overcooked and dried out. It did not look appealing. I gave it a try anyway....It tasted how it looked. I think they mistake falling off the bone (which it didfor cooked properly, which it wasnt. Additionally, the Mac & cheese was just some noodles with some cheese sauce mixed in. Bread crumbs (Im guessingwere added to make it look homemade. It was flavorless and the experience of eating it was cheap. The potato salad was..okay, but was not good enough to offset the $25 I paid for this meal. I did not like this food at all. Maybe their other dishes are better, but this combo was not. Perhaps lessons in meats & grilling, or even hiring a cook with proven experience, could go a long way for them in the future.
Cute spot. Really great decor. Service is a bit slow. Food Id good, had fried pickles, a bit breast, but otherwise a pleasant experience.
The pulled pork, mac n cheese and baked beans were delicious. All of the bbq sauces are yummy too. Definitely going back
Had the pulled pork grilled cheese. Absolutely amazing. Went on a Tuesday, and their margaritas were only $3. Definitely recommended if youre in the area. Took a while to get our drinks, but the staff was friendly and effective.
Blowin’ Smoke Southern Cantina is an amazing restaurant! They have a good range of BBQ meat options. I got the brisket and it had a good smoked flavor to it. The sauces are fun to try and they all tasted good. The cocktails were great as well. The portion sizes are very generous so come hungry!
Blowin smoke up yer butt?! Unclear how this place has anything more than 1 star.Considering this place is pretty much #2 in savannah for bbq we had high hopes.Things did not get off to a good start. It took a while for some one to bring us water and when she did she barely filled our glasses. When she finally got around to taking our order we thought we were off to a good start. After about 10 minutes our apps were served....with plastic cutlery still in plastic. After about 5 minutes are had to ask for plates for our party of 6 so we could share. Two out of the five plates were dirty and alas, no one followed up. We could only hope things got better. :-(The coleslaw was salty in a way that was almost uncomfortable. My companion took one bite and pushed it away in disgust. Salt central. The Mac and cheese was described as glorified Kraft Dinner and was deemed inedible. Apparently the boxed stuff is more tastey.I was excited for the beef rib, but it was thoroughly disappointing. There was no rub on the meat at all - no smoke, nothing. The only flavor came from the tiny side portion of mustard something served by my waitress with the "princess something" tatoo on her neck. The beef tasted as if it had been sitting around at least 1/2 the day.The pitcher of margarita was watered down...to death. One could barely get 3 teeny tiny 10 oz drinks out of it. This is just plain sad. I would have wanted more, but the food made be want to finish up and get out of there.....Overall, the meal was straight up doleful. We wanted to drink more - but honestly, the food was thoroughly mediocre and the drinks were worse. I imagine this place gets the rating it does because it is the only show in town on a Sunday. Womp womp. I can find better BBQ in NYC on the worst of days. Dont waste your time or money if you want something unique or tastey.
I absolutely loved my time here! The barbecue was very tasty, and was cooked perfectly. I had the pork ribs (the meat fell off the bone), the barbecue beans (incredibly smoky flavor), and the mac and cheese. I loved all of the sauces they offered, though the Georgia peach was my personal favorite- it was a great balance of sweet and punchy!
The food was pretty good. The pork belly in my taco was a little extra crispy, but overall the two different tacos I ordered had great flavor. Customer service couldve been a lot better. They werent very welcoming. Also I stepped 10 ft away from table to talk to one employee, and when I look back there is another employee clearing my table. It may have looked like I was done with the food bc there was only a few bites left, but all my personal items that were still at the table shouldve been an indication that I was still there.
I would give this a three because of food was cold and my grilled cheese was extremely soggy. I actually had to send that back which I hate doing. Our side dishes like the Mac and cheese, collard green, brisket chili and pulled chicken were good. It just would have obviously been better if it was hot. Also the service was very slow especially because there were two other tables in there besides us. She was very sweet but just not attentive. The atmosphere was nice too but I’m not sure if I would go back.
Great local joint. The Georgia peach taco was very tasty. Fast service, good size portions, good price. Worth moving your car to drive here. Only drawback: it was chilly when we went and no indoor seating.
Amazing tacos. Who would have know this place was there. This is a taco joint with some really good food.I would highly recommend giving this place a try.
Delicious smoked, fried chicken wings. Beautiful green lettuce topped with moist & tasty pork. A couple of inexpensive beer options available, in addition to many other food & beverage choices! Friendly, professional server. Cool atmosphere, kitchen seemed kind of slow- but it was worth the wait!
We did the combo platter...Ribs and Chicken were awesome! Brisket was really dry...but over all the meal was great. Try their spicey coleslaw...really good! Atmosphere is very laid back and PETS ARE WELCOME!! 💗🐾💗 You get these little plastic logo cups to take with you...perfect size to collect and use! Will definitely be back!
Really enjoyed the fresh food and so food my kids, which is rare! They gobbled up the beans and rice. It was refreshing to see them enjoy something other than chicken nuggets and pizza. The fried green tomato taco was pretty good.
This place is amazing!! They have the best wings, hands down, that I have ever had. All the tacos and in house smoked bbq meats as well are excellent. Great margaritas (you can pick a flavor so be sure to ask about that-I recommend the watermelonThey are super dog friendly and all the staff are great! They will even give your furry friend a beef bone to chow down on while you are there. Highly recommend, dont miss this local favorite!!!
The food was amazing. My first time going and I definitely will be back. The service was just as great as well.
Food and service are excellent. The blackened fish tacos, street corn, plantains are all fantastic. Should be on Diners Drive Ins and Dives.
Went in last night for an impromptu gathering of friends. Showed up with a party of 10, which grew to 12. The manager Jess and our server Haleigh quickly accommodated our group and saw to it that we had excellent service. The food was great! The staff made great suggestions and we had a great time. Our group will definitely be returning and I would recommend this restaurant to others.
Sooo filling, priced just right. Beef brisket was tender enough that it fell off the fork, friend pickle spears. My suggestion if you have a large group of people, reservation a space. Service was hopping they checked and double checked to make sure you were satisfied. They didnt cover, the food was delicious and filling. I am highly satisfied, when in the area again, for sure I will come back.
An interesting mix of Southern BBQ and Mexican food. I had the single beef rib and it was delicious. Tender, juicy and fall of the bone good. The sides were done well. Collard greens were classically southern and the mac & cheese had a southwestern spice twist. She had two tacos. The Baja and the brisket. Both were delicious but she couldnt stop raving about the shrimp in the Baja.
Spent a week at an Airbnb nearby this spot in Savannah. Went once and had to go back before I left! Great tacos and drinks.
Awesome Barbecue! This place is great ! I strongly recommend the two tacos and a side for $10. There are several types of tacos to chose from and I can say they are all delicious. As far as sides go - the Mac and cheese and beans are great - but the plantains with drizzled honey are amazing. Parking for this restaurant is easy and the staff are great ! The is is a super place for lunch!
It was ok.... I asked for a sweetwater 420 but didnt have the beer although sweetwater was advertised on several posters around the restuarant. Food was excellent..
Traveling through Savannah with a party of 10 and decided to find some local barbecue. This was a great choice for us! Service was good, with the exception of the bar - I didnt get my mule until after the food came and it was not a busy time of the day. However, the food was great and just what we were hoping for. Everything from the pulled pork, grilled chicken, appetizers to tacos were great! The collards were especially delicious and tasted like they were cooked by a real southern grandma. Try the sweet potato potato salad if youre in the mood for something out of the ordinary. Be warned that even though youre inside, it may still be a bit warm. We sat by the fans and were comfortable, but if youre hot-natured you may want to sit in the bar area in summer. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal.
Blowin Smoke has to be our favorite place to eat in Savannah. Tacos are original and delicious and the service is always friendly and quick
This little place is great. Fun large bar for happy hour. The various tacos are unique and wonderful. My favorites were the Mississippi one with pulled pork, and the gyro one with smoked brisket. The fried pickles were delicious, and the fried green tomatoes were my favorite app.
Staff are friendly but not talented. They are always out of the beef rib, in my opinion the best thing on their menu... If the staff were more skilled and the menu consistently available Id give it 5 stars. Happy hour is great, bar has good atmosphere, tacos are delicious.
Super friendly staff. Good barbecue. I loved the sweet potato salad and the atmosphere was very chill and relaxed. Our waitress was super friendly but could probably do with some studying of the drink menu or tips from the bartender on house specials and drafts for people looking for a recommendation.
Im conflicted about this place. On the plus, the service was great, the location was beautiful, and they had some pretty good live music when I was there for lunch on a Sunday. Our appetizer was also stellar. The let down was the tacos. The shrimp, jerk beef, and fired green tomato were solid but the rest were fairly meh. On top of that the drinks were pretty weak, even if they were tasty. I would definitely be willing to give it another shot, but on the whole I wouldnt crave to go back
Stopped for lunch today after a really tough appointment with our dog’s oncologist. We’ve been here before, but this was our best experience yet. Food is always great but the service was exceptional. Fast, accurate, everyone was super nice. Our pup was served a special treat, a fresh bowl of water, and lots of love. This isn’t always the case with pitbulls! We had the nachos with brisket, 4 tacos (fried chicken, chorizo, shrimp, and the gyro inspired one which I had my doubts about but was amazing), a cup of brisket chili (very flavorful, spicy, and a good amount of meatand a side of mac & cheese. With all that food and a beer our bill was about $40. No complaints. My other favorites on the menu are the fried pickles and falafel taco. We sat in the covered patio, but if our pup wasn’t along we would have sat at the bar, which is really cool and takes up what used to be the indoor dining area. (Indoor in the winter, but now it’s glass garage doors are wide open for spring.I don’t bother to write many reviews but we had a great experience.
After reading the reviews, I was a little concerned. Let me assure you; the food is anything but bland or lacking spice!! What a great find, the food is really off the chain. The service is awesome and knowledgeable...come and enjoy!!
1st time here & Casey was our server. She was great with the suggestions & the upgrades. We both had an alcoholic beverage, an appetizer & our meals. $35 is cheap for all that! The atmosphere is great & the food is amazing! Our appetizer was the parmesan pickle spears & they were DELISH!I did forget to take a pic of our meals but I had the tortas brisket sandwich which was DELISH & my husband had the catfish tacos & he said they were fresh & great. This place is a must try!
Ive been here a couple times and Im just not a fan of this spot. There are other BBQ joints around town that are priced better. The tacos are way overpriced...my friends ordered them and were really disappointed (they left hungry). The BBQ was a better portion but it honestly didnt sit well in my stomach. The atmosphere is really nice on a nice day though. Id recommend trying it yourself and making your own opinion since a lot of people seem to like it, just not me.
I dont use this word often, but this place is exemplary!! Truly impressive, from the food to the service to the friendly accommodations of puppers. We brought my dog Solo here, and before our waitress even came for our drinks, the hostess had a bowl of cold water and a MASSIVE beef bone for my doggo. The beer selection was on point, and the tacos were some of the best Ive ever had, and I live in Miami! A must have when in Savannah!!
This is one of the best open-air restaurants in town. The staff is a little chaotic but theyre usually in good spirits so be patient. There has been serious effort put in to offering unique to Savannah menu items. Mix and match street tacos are a yummy staple.
Great food at a great price! The name is a little deceiving- this isnt a BBQ place. They have awesome tacos- a huge variety and its hard to pick! The margaritas are awesome as is the home made Chaco taco. Ill definitely be back!
Came here on a cold night in late January. The coverings they have over the sides were still a bit flimsy for the weather. With that said, the food was good and I enjoyed myself. Im sure this place is much better when the weather is nice and the coverings are up!
I ordered three different tacos: Pork belly, chorizo, and the steak (cant remember the name). All of them were absolutely delicious! I only managed to eat two of them because they are very filling, saved the last for later :)Our bartender was attentive, and the drinks were tasty! Will keep coming back!
While this place is listed as a barbecue place, Im not sure I would call it that based on their menu. However, they do serve some BBQ items. I didnt try them, but the smell alone made it seem like it would be good.I had three different kinds of tacos that were all good, but the Chili Lime Chicky was my favorite, then the Blackened Fish, and finally the Pollo Loco. For my side, I picked Sweet Plantains, which could have substituted for dessert.I also tried the Honey-Jalapeno margarita. Definitely an interesting flavor on top of a traditional margarita. Wasnt very strong, but that was fine. The atmosphere made this place even more awesome. Very laid back and pet friendly. Seems to be in the middle of a residential area. Mostly outdoor seating. Wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks.I would definitely come back.
My wife and I came here for dinner our first night in Savannah. We both love BBQ so we thought we would check it out. We both got the pulled pork plate and really enjoyed the flavor. The portion size was generous and came with two sides. The service was great as well. We will be back when we revisit Savannah!
