Top class fishing place had a awesome weekend with the guys definatly going back

Always great, just sad the dam was to full, and please people update your contact details and more people will visit the dam

It is safe, has friendly staff and friendly visitors. It feels like a community even though we are keeping our social distancing.There is only one ablution site which is over a kilometre from where we set up camp. But we caught a lot of fish at that spot. We could swim & ride our raft in the dam.

Bad service at gate. Been told there were place a d it was full. We left emmedittly and lost our payment. No one at gate were very helpful. I will never visit again. Very bad service.

Absolutely beautiful dam. White beach sand. It felt like a holiday at the coast. Stunning. Room needs some attention.

Situated on the banks of the enormous Bloemhof Dam in the Northwest Province, this reserve boast a wide variety of game species amongst beautiful camelthorn trees. An anglers paradise with success in catching a carp, grass carp or sharptooth catfish guarenteed. Also a bird lovers paradise with numerous aquatic, savannah and bushveld species.

Excellent experiance love the place will always return to fish and camp here.

Everything is nice friendly staff. Very helpfull. But when it comes to bathrooms its horrible the showers have no shower heads also there are to few bathrooms. No quick shop toe buy somethings you need. Have to drive to bloemhof to buy anything

Had at some places 80mm of rain. Good water for the animals and the grass. 👍

Love this huge dam, with white sand.. Comfortable accommodation.

Hosting 2019 world angling / fishing championship. There small game animals and ostriches. The dam is almost full.

Very nice place! We were on the North-West Nature Reserve side. Beautiful animals & staff is very friendly and work hard to keep the park in good order!

We camp in the Sandveld nature reserve and enjoyed the quiet environment. Ablution is old but good.

Great resort, well priced, accommodation is decent and beautiful scenery, just lots of thorns so pack in some thorn proof shoes!

My 5 stars are for Bloemhof Dam itself. Cant give a review on the reserve itself because we still need to go and stay there.

Great place for fishing. Camping and hunting.It hosts big angling tournaments.Its quiet on the shoreline and relaxing.

As it says... A dam and a nature reserve. No ablution block, nothing. Only the dam and veld. However the local town is close by to grab something to eat. Ideal for fishing.

Its very clean and safe and it really allows to experience nature as it should be... The evening stars are fascinating and you can see stars at night that you cant see in city areas. There are a lot of fish there and it makes fishing worth while. Make sure you go with a vehicle that has diflock at least if you want to catch next to river (its just a bonus not to get stuckThere are challes and small places to rent if you dont have a tent and public toilets also available.

The place has different animals that one can lookout for. its a flat land, so spotting them from far is quite easy. The bridge across the Vaal river, form a border between Free State and North-West province is very scenic for sunset pictures

Both chalets and camping facilities. Accommodation relatively inexpensive, but no tv sets or satellite reception! Sparsely appointed chalets in need of some upgrading. Excellent fishing in Bloemhof dam though!

Nice camping grounds if you enjoy being very close to mother nature. Great fishing destination. Known for unpredictable windy conditions.
