Blackridge Reservoir - Reservoir in Riverton, United States
Blackridge Reservoir in Riverton
Description
The water level this morning was really low. I am not sure whether it is because of the drought or it is intentional.
MoreGood place to spend time with friends or go on the trail.
Excellent park with tons of parking, space to spread out, and great views. Covered gazebo areas with picnic tables. Clean restrooms. Great place to go hiking, mountain biking, walking, swimming, paddle boarding, tanning, etc.
MoreFree entry, nice lake! Wasnt too busy on a Friday night.
When it is busy it doesnt get too crowded and the staff that worked there do a amazing job keeping it clean in the extra friendly.
MoreGreat body of water to hangout with the family, or go for a stroll. Well patrolled by officers, its a residential area so very safe close nit feeling. Id recommend if you have kids, if you enjoy shallow water, if your just learning to swim. Grass, sand and picnic areas, along with parking.
MoreNice little pond. Flush toilets, drinking fountains, nice shade covers over picnic tables. The sand is very coarse. I did not like walking barefoot on the sand. Good place for kids to paddle board or kayak.
MoreAwesome location very small lake
It was fun and relaxing. Best times to go is week days. Weekends during peak season is hard to find parking
MoreLoved it. Clean, sandy beach. Water feels nice on a hot summer day. Perfect size reservoir for the littles to swim, float around, and play in. Cute little playground nearby. Theres also a few picnic pavilions if you come early enough to grab them. Its really a hidden gem. Get your paddle board or your little raft out there, and youll really enjoy it.
MoreIts a nice park. they could do with some more parking. The sand was more like dirt but still a nice park.
MoreGreat spot for a fun day in the sun!
When you find it for the first time, it’s like you found an Easter egg of the west side of the valley. This place is awesome and always packed. Great place to spend the afternoon and cool off.
MoreGood place for locals to swim, paddleboard and kayak. THe parking lot is big and close to the water, and the picnic tables are nice. Sweet place to spend an evening!
MoreFun place for a quick outdoor adventure! Bathrooms are clean. There are shaded tables for a picnic.
MoreSo easy to set up a spot to hang out for a few hours. Sandy/slightly rocky beach, but the kids love digging in the sand. Love kayaking here. Arrive early for a parking spot. Theres restrooms and a small playground as well.
MoreWe loved this place. We went on Monday. Which was the day pioneer day was being observed. It was not packed at all. The kids had a blast on the playground which did NOT have wood chips but a spongy type material that didnt get too hot in the sun. I love that the water is shallow for a good distance from the shore . Perfect for the kids . Just wish the water was a little cleaner but it wasnt to bad , didnt notice any garbage or anything just grass.
MoreVery nice little reservoir. The beach was nice and the playground was enjoyed by my kids. I was there on a weekday, and the parking lot was pretty full, so I imagine on a weekend it will be full.
MoreI love that it has A sandy beach so can lounge on the beach, kids can make sand castles. It has a grassy area. Which I prefer so not everything is sandy. It has clean bathrooms. Herriman City does a great job keeping it clean!
MoreCute little reservoir with a sandy beach, playground and bathroom. There are a couple trailheads too, but I didnt get to check them out. Its tucked up inside a little neighborhood. Great little retreat for summer.
MoreNice place to hang out with family or friends, and has a pretty great view of Salt Lake County. The playground is unique. Good place to fish or canoe, kayak, etc.
MoreSuper relaxing and very beautiful, keeps the beach clean from trash and wonderful meet and greet with new people.
MoreGreat lil "Beach" 🏖👌 experience within the city. It tends to get pretty busy but still room for everyone and kiddos to enjoy. Parking availability is the only reason why I gave it 4 stars. Restrooms are available, a playground, and covered picnic tables. Ppl did bring portable bbq grills, water toys, canopies, etc.. just clean up after yourselves, no excuses they provide plenty of trash bins around👍
MoreA nice getaway place in the city for the kids and family. It gets busy in the afternoon and evening during the season. We can reserve the seating area pergolas which is nice.
MoreEvery time I go there it’s like I’m getting recharged with positive energies… 🤗 A really good place for kids to play and adults to relax 😅
MoreSuper cute little place, fun to take the kids & nice neighborhood.
Nice peaceful place to hang out. During the summer it gets busy but its a nice little place to hang out with the family.
MoreGreat place to spend time with the family and ride your mountain bike.
Very nice park with beach at water. The hiking/biking access is easy to get to and the trails have clear views of the valley.
MoreI recently discovered this tucked away outdoor gem during winter this year. It has great hiking trails and beautiful views of the valley. We trekked in the snow mostly by ourselves and a little bit of sun.
MoreNot the best place to play in the water with all the stay out of the water signs.Small playground with a few shaded picnic tables.*Bathrooms available
MoreI love this place. Nice sandy beach with benches and tables. Restrooms (although they arent open for nearly enough of the year; problem all over the stateare clean. Great hiking trails all around, beautiful views of the city from an angle you dont often get. You can actually hike all the way to a neighborhood in Saratoga Springs from here. They have a map posted.
MoreBlackridge trail is great for trail running and biking. Theyve redone some of the trails recently, and created a few that are mountain bike only.
MoreBeautiful place to play near and in the water. Beach has as much gravel as sand, yet its clean and fun. Playground is a fantastic addition and pavillions are plentiful with attached trash cans that are emptied often.
MoreA fun place to beat the heat. Good shallow area for kids to play and the city doors a good job of keeping the beaches clean. There are multiple pavilions with picnic tables that can be reserved or are available first come first serve if theyre not booked. Theres also a good playground if the kids arent feeling the water. The downside is that this place gets packed on the weekend because it is pretty much one of a kind in the salt lake valley, and its free. If theres one thing the people of Utah love, its something free.
MoreGreat! But be aware that it is local and there could be a line for entry into the parking because it gets real full . We were at the very top of the hill by where you park your car and honestly its not even far from the water or the playground i dont feel like i NEED to be right up against the water to watch my kids . Also free thats great!
MoreStunning views, great play structure for kids, beach, and water. We were there later in the day to start a bike ride, so we were able to find parking easily and it wasn’t too crazy busy even for Mem Day. Will totally come back with the kids and water toys! Bring lots of water; signs say no alcohol.
MoreWe like to go for walks around the reservoir weekly & even hike up the trails that run behind it sometimes. Its kind of in our backyard...so to speak...so visiting it has become a big part of our lifestyle through part of the year.
MoreWhat an amazing secret gem! Great hiking / riding trials, great tribute to our amazing fallen heroes, including Hondo & a great place to met & enjoy the surroundings & water. Loved it!!
MorePlenty of hikes, a good playground, a paved walking path that does a loop around the water, and a great view from the south end of the valley. Its dry and seemingly always dead and brown, but thats a nature problem that cant really be fixed. If you live nearby in Herriman, its a good opportunity to find a quick getaway for hike right in your backyard.
MoreThis is a great place for all sorts of outdoor activities. I’ve paddle boarded here. Today I mountain biked. There is a park play space for kids. There are picnic tables. The beach is awesome to lay out in during the summer. I will be back with my son to take advantage of all this area has to offer. Highly recommend.
MoreLots of options for enjoying the reservoir: path around perimeter, swimming and paddling, wading is good as first 10 feet is relatively shallow, and lots of covered picnic tables
MoreThis place is great in the summer. Arrived around 9am and was able to secure a pavilion. It was nice to be have shade through out the day. Kids had fun digging in the sand and playing in the water.
MoreWe went at 10 a.m. and there were only a couple families there. There was a little bit of trash that we picked up but overall it’s really clean for how crowded I’ve heard it can get. The bathrooms were also very clean. The sand is a little rough but is not bad for being in Utah.
MoreLooking for a swimming beach in Salt Lake County? This is a small reservoir, but has quite a large beach. Swimming, paddle boarding, sand castles are some fun activities. There is a playground here as well. Public restrooms. Dogs are allowed on the grassy areas but not on the beach or in the water. There are some covered pavilions with picnic tables too, but not a lot of grown shade trees. Took the kids here to swim this week in the hot July sun and had a great time. We made sure they all showered when we got home; the water wasnt dirty, but its a small reservoir and its not a pristine mountain lake either.
MoreSweet little reservoir nestled in suburbia. I did my own little triathlon here with a good 5 lap swim in the water, then a bike down to camp Williams, and a trail run up the peak. I would love to come back, throw out a towel, and read a book in the sun. For sure check it out to get a little taste of adventure on the south west side of the valley.
MoreToday was very nice and quiet not too many people (Ive been told it gets jam packed so we got luckythe trail around is perfect for a relaxing walk and for kids to bike along, the beach area has several covered table areas for food, the beach "sand" is more like fine gravel and not very comfortable to walk on so sandles come in handy, the bathrooms were clean the boat ramp is handy to use for our little inflatable rowing boat. There is a nice big playground as well.
MoreGreat place to swim with your triathlon friends. The Salt Lake Tri Club has been swimming here for years and the water and facilities are great. Thank you Herriman city for this great park. Also parking is good. Always watch my speed as it goes through a neighborhood.
MoreFun place for free water activity in the summer! Bathrooms are pretty good, could use a mirror. And concessions were lacking if you want anything hot or cooked- it’s mostly just chips and candy or granola bars and drinks. Parking can be busy on weekends/ holidays, it was ok for us on a Friday afternoon. Paddle boards , canoes and other inflatables are popular. The beach seemed fairly clean and well maintained.
MoreReally nice place if you go early and stake out a spot. They keep it clean and monitored. Great for a family outing!
