E Park Dr, Blackpool FY3 8PP, Blackpool
32-acre woodland zoo housing big cats, gorillas, elephants, with train tours and member discounts.
A lovely and spacious zoo with lots to see and do. Plenty of animals to view as well as shows and feeding opportunities. Perfect for people of all ages. Reasonable prices for everything too. Friendly staff all round.
First time I have visited in about 4 years and was pleasantly surprised by the improvements made. Dont be put off by the relative small size when compared with say Chester zoo, there is plenty to see and what animals they do have are far more accessible than some other zoos. A great day out and I alway enjoy it here
We love coming to Blackpool zoo with our 5 year old twin boys. It is only half an hour away from us so its a great afternoon out. The play area is also great too. The zoo is not too big so little ones will not get as tired as they would at the bigger zoos. Definitely recommend getting an annual pass too if you go even 3 times in the year it will cover the cost. There are plenty of picnic areas here and a cafe if you prefer. Staff are friendly which is always a nice bonus.
The visit was OK but I do think the price should reflect what attractions/exhibits are open. The big cat enclosure was closed for refurb and opens again in Spring 2023 yet the price remains the same. The selection of animals at the zoo is ok but was disappointed not to see any reptile specific exhibit, chimpanzees, rhinos, spiders, snakes or marine life.Next time we will definitely choose Chester instead simply for the variety despite it being ~£15 dearer.
First time Ive ever been to a zoo!!Overall a good experience- the elephants looked happy in a big enclosure, but every monkey looked sad and kind of depressed- not a happy sight.......no big cats as new enclosure being built- ....We used Tesco vouchers to buy our tickets, and for some weird reason the price of the ticket had changed from the voucher price to £15 more for a family of four on the day....Our 8 year old loved it, a varied array of animals to see,but something about monkeys in captivity makes me feel sad.......🤔
Great, clean zoo, not too big so its good for young kids to walk around without getting tired, good for toddlers in prams to see too through the viewing windows and gaps in the fencing.Nice play area and a big cafe which has plenty of options burgers, hotdogs, pizza, nuggets or Subway or sandwiches, jacket potatoes etc...Also pre buying meal deals when you order tickets online saves you a couple of pounds.
Fantastic day out. Its not cheap but as a treat for two of our grandsons its been a brilliant day. We spent over 5 hours there and if the little one wasnt tired we could of stayed longer. We take our own picnic with us but there is a Big eating place and plenty of picnic tables. Animals enclosures are all clean and well kept. Zoo shop is expensive but not as bad as some. It was busy, car park was full when we arrived just before 12 - £3 a day parking - but once we where through the gates it wasnt over crowded anywhere. Plenty of space for kids to run and lots to keep them interested and learn about animals, insects etc. Nothing bad to say.. Easy 5 stars
Fab zoo, only disappointment was that the lions were not there as a new enclosure is being built for them. Plenty of places to eat and drink and at prices that seemed quite reasonable. The dinosaur walk through was great and young kids will love it if they are into Jurassic Park especially. Remember to pay for your parking although there is someone at the doors who will remind you and take payment at the doors. Good family day out
Great zoo and good selection of animals. The elephant enclosure and lemur walkthrough were awesome! You cant currently see the lions or tigers as theyre upgrading their enclosure.Parking is pay and display, which is £3 for all day. The soft play isnt included with admission either, but I think you get a discount if youve purchased a zoo ticket.
Amazing day with the little one and family. Pre book, better for convenience more than anything and bring a packed lunch! Food offered but when its busy and you just wanna eat, this is a no brainer. Great little dinosaur walk, albeit a number of them need attention as they have faded paintwork and some were flaking away. They are old dinosaurs I suppose :take a leisurely pace and view tigers elephants giraffes etc using the tour map, to help you plan a circular route as best you can. Plenty of toilets along the way and disabled access.
A far better zoo than Chester, seriously underrated. They offer more animals, more clear directions, and do demonstrations, which are key for many children and adults alike to learn about the animals! Save some money for a better experience!
Payed online so got some good prices for tickets, would recommend purchasing online will save yourself some money, great day out lots to see and do, great variety of animals. Great food and stalls about offering food/drinks. Will come back again & would recommend for anyone!
A fantastic family day out! A huge variety of animals to see and quite a few feeding and informative talks throughout the day on a variety of species. There is wooden jungle gym play area near the farm animal/petting zoo.It is clear the zoo had invested in the welfare of both animals and conservation as it was clear that they were aware of the endangered level of the animals and how they were involved in breeding programs. The written information around the enclosures is both informative and fun which eye catching displays if fun facts for younger children and more detailed plaques for adults. A clear message of education and understanding.Plenty of facilities (food and toiletshad low queue times (no more than 10 minutes. However, the one main downside of the zoo was the price of both food and merchandise. Buying tickets through the website in advance does come with a discount however, they are nonrefundable or transferable. So, definitely check the weather before purchasing as most of the enclosures and activities are outside.
Great place to take the kids, just big enough to see everything in one day. Kids particularly enjoyed the sea lion show. Will be going back once the big cat enclosure is open again
Absolutely loved this zoo was an absolute pleasure to walk around with my family. So much to see and do with lots of different view points for all ages. The zoo is very clean and well maintained. Gift shop was great good price range everything from pocket money gifts to higher priced quality gifs. Booked online and was quickly processed on arrival. Would definitely recommend for all ages.
We had an incredible time at the zoo today! So much to see and do! Plenty of cafe stops in between to rest your legs too.Would highly recommend! Also half price entry to the soft play next door if you show them your receipt of zoo entry (within a week of reciept).
We visited here today (family of 4 - 14 and 6 year olds). The zoo is nice. It’s clean and tidy and compact so there is not lots of walking for little legs and little kids won’t get bored quickly. We went at a time when the Big Cat enclosure is not open as it’s being moved which is a shame because that’s always a good part of any zoo. They have plenty of places to eat and drink. We went for a Subway which was good. This is a good zoo to visit and I’d recommend it.
Wow! Definitely 5 stars! I was blown away by this place if Im honest. Wasnt sure what to expect as I have visited several large zoos across Europe & never been to Blackpools before. Needless to say it was superb. From the animals on display to the size of the elephant enclosure. Never seen one so big before so kudos to BP Zoo. Also cant leave a review without mentioning the sea lion show. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Wont give details away and ruin the surprise but its epic. No queues for anything at all, plenty of staff around to keep waiting to the absolute minimum. Look forward to coming back
Went with a nursery trip so didnt pay full adult ticket price, good day, some enclosures rather small (barn owl). Member of staff unfortunately let slip to my 3yo that the tigers were not there, (working on the enclosure, Id been saying we havent found them yet).Staff visibly cleaning and maintaining the whole attraction.
Big Cat enclosure is shut. Not a bad little zoo, parking does have a cost so bring change. Little shows on throughout the day. I got a bit bored, some animals look sad (orangutan). Nice size for going with small children as it’s not a massive walk and it’s all quite flat land.
My 4 star rating is based only on the fact the new big cat enclosure is still under development, the overall experience on the day was 5⭐️, whilst this may seem unfair it did take away some of the experience for me personally as I am a big cat fan and wasnt aware until arriving that no cats were at the zoo at all, But that aside the Zoo itself was fantastic, animals were amazing to see, I really amazing sight and some beautiful ones too! All very well maintained and the keepers were all very helpful, the various events around the zoo are highly recommended, the food stalls were quick serving (BEWARE OF SEAGULLS!a very fun day was had by us and the grandkids, will definitely go back when the big cats arrive and will most definitely upgrade my rating!
I really enjoyed walking around this zoo, the animals are well cared for and the enclosures are well maintained and full of enrichment items to keep them entertained. The ground is quite flat so is really good for people mobility issues. The big cat house is being redesigned at the moment and will not be open until next year. I definitely recommend buying tickets online as it works out cheaper. The car park is pay and display, costs £3 for the whole day.
Had a great time at Blackpool Zoo, my little one loves going around and seeing all the animals especially the monkeys! There were lots of animals to see and we managed to get around quite quickly as there didnt seem to be too many people. Inside the Zoo they have Subway and a Starbucks inside the Café. The park didnt seem to be very clean and had bits of rubbish everywhere. I leaned over the tortoise enclosure and pulled out two maps that one of the tortoises was eating as I couldnt see a staff member around, and owning a tortoise myself knew it wouldnt be in the animals best interest to be eating paper. The shows that were on to talk about the animals were brilliant and very informative for my little one who had a million questions as they always do!
Great zoo..lots to see and do. Smaller than chester zoo, but you can spend a good few hours there. Food is a bit pricey so a picnic is a good option. Tickets are cheaper online too.
Its a really good zoo! This place actually has a lot more there than you think, we loved the elephants and monkeys. The zoo isnt massive so its easy to get around, but my kids did mention they felt like the enclosure was small for some animals. We would absolutely go again.
Im kind of not being into animals in captivity but I also understand a need for it.Lovely zoo slowly being updated over time. Not crowded and a nice relaxing place to walk around 😃 If youre young children like Dinosaurs then theres a nice section for them 😊
Me and my wife went to visit the the zoo as we love seeing animals from the wildlife and to learn more about there way of living the staff was very friendly and happy to answer any questions and the talks and the sealion show was great. I would recommend people to visit the zoo and to enjoy the amazing animals and the prices was at a fair price.
Lovely zoo! Loads of animals and the elephant enclosure was great. Plenty for the kids to see and do. All enclosures are large for the animals and they have loads of room to roam around. Nice and clean with friendly staff. Also great that they have Starbucks and Subway inside to get food and drinks. Will definitely be visiting again in the future!
Very nice zoo.enclosures are well sized for the animals.staff are very nice and friendly.and catering outlets are reasonably priced.Garden areas are well kept with some lovely peace lilliesShame so many people decided to throw litter on the ground rather than use a bin.
Had such a lovely time. Expensive day out but its a full day. Plenty to do & see.Lots of toilets available, baby changing rooms & breastfeeding area for milking mama, but they are so many tables scattered around so J found it so easy to sit down and feed.We took a picnic and there is lots of park qnd grass areas to choose from.
Well what a amazing zoo to visit, lots of animals to see. The zoo staff are extremely friendly and helpful. As well as the grounds are well looked after and are clean. Restaurants are well stocked and fairly priced. Plenty of picnic areas if you wish to bring you own food. But beware of the seagulls. Threw out the zoo it came across to me as wheelchair friendly as well as pram friendly. Plenty of toilets around that are cleaned to a high standard. I would highly recommended a day out at blackpool zoo as you wont be disappointed.
Had a great day out at Blackpool Zoo. Guest services were very helpful in providing us with a wheelchair for my daughter who cant walk too far. Purchasing tickets was quick and easy with no queues. The zoo itself was larger than I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised by large open enclosures and many more animals than I expected. There was a restaurant serving basic fast food, a Subway , a Coffee shop ( think it was Starbucks but could have been Costa- I dont drink Coffee, so didnt pay attention!)and a snack bar further into the park. There were some kids rides for little ones so plenty for young families. As we were using a wheelchair, I noticed that everywhere was accessible via ramp and large clear pathways. Cant wait to go back again as it was so enjoyable!
My favourite zoo of all time! We were annual members a few years ago when our children were small and now we just visit once or twice a year. Its the only zoo we visit as we love the size and location etc.
We LOVE Blackpool zoo. We try and take the kids once a year, usually for our anniversary, and the kids LOVE IT!!! Its got everything you want from a zoo, and some awesome shows too. Prices are usual for a zoo, a little high maybe, but worth it. Car park is big and cost £3 all day, so you cant moan what so ever about that. They also have an indoor and outdoor play area if you just wanna chill for a bit. 100% recommend to everyone
Lovely day out with grandchildren . Age 10yrs to 16yrs. Rained but we dont rust!!Went to all the places we missed on the last visit. Aviaries had some stunning birds.Would have stayed longer if it had been sunny.Nevertheless enjoyed the day out.
Fantastic day out the grandchildren loved it .The weather was lovely and this helped. On arrival the carpark was quite full all the disabled spaces were taken I drove round a few times then a lovely guy stopped me and asked what I was looking for when I said a disabled space he moved a cone from a space near the front and said I could park there well I could have kissed him as walking and standing are a very painful experience for me . We strolled round the zoo and kept stopping for rests and had a lovely picnic. The animals were all lovely and very well kept and looked after .Thank you for a lovely day out making memories with my family xx
Great day spent at Blackpool Zoo. As a local we had 40% discount on entry which was fabulous ( but thats only for March). Lots to see from Lions and tigers to baby monkeys. You can get quite close to most animals and spend a good amount of time with them. The dinosaur exhibition was also good and yes we jumped when they growled, moved or spat water at us.
Great ZooSome work going on making things better for the animals. Not overlly populated. All Animals look well cared for. Very easy to walk round lots of picnic spaces. Overall the zoo looks well maintained and looked after
I have visited this zoo once with my family. It’s a decent zoo with ample amount of animals. What makes the Zoo stand out is the Dinosaur walk. If you or your kids like dinosaurs, you will definitely like it. Compared to it’s closest counterpart like Chester zoo, it’s nothing close in terms of varieties of wildlife they have. However it’s still a fun place for a family day out.
Always a great day out! My youngest loves aardvarks and cant wait til his birthday to be able to feed them! If you are looking for an affordable family day out -this is it!! (Definitely worth getting a pass if you are going to visit more than once)
Never been before & trying to get Mrs P into photography. Maybe I was expecting too much?. We got there at 11am. Most of the animals were inside which is difficult from a photography POV. Those that were outside were naturally behind a cage (again not good for close up shots). Lots of little people which again makes moving around difficult but overall the Zoo itself was tidy, well laid out & the animals looked well cared for. I would definitely go again (maybe in Summer when the trees etc are more lushbut that would be it for me. Great value for a day out with lots to see. More for the little ones Id say.
Well took me BEZZIES to Blackpool Zoo, first time Ive ever been and it was brilliant considering the weather on Monday wasnt to bad sunny but little windy, and about the Zoo looks like they didnt have all the staff back yet but it was very tidy and clean, what we did find that was that all the animals were close together so not to far to walk for the next animal so was great also they have a dinosaur section which the kids will like even the big kids it give you an insight how big some of them were, would I go back YES in the summer some time would I recommend it YES but look try it for your self out of 5 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Amazing zoo. Sad we went during winter (mid Februaryso it was cold and windy and we didnt get to interact and much as wed of liked, but the zoo is still really good. All the animals seem to be well cared for.
The zoo was much bigger than anticipated and has many new sections. It was not that busy, which was nice as you could walk around freely and see all of the animals. There is a little food hall in the middle which was nice to grab something to eat before venturing into the zoo. Sadly some animals were inside due to the current weather but should be fine when it gets hotter outside. It’s an excellent place to take your kids as there are many attractions for kids and a farm that allows you to pet some animals. Overall it was a nice trip to the zoo, and I recommend it if youre in Blackpool.
Great family day out.Plenty of animals to see, some of them were inside their houses, and I dont blame them as it was a chilly day.Word of warning if you havent been before, you have to pay for parking - its pay and display - £3. Machines are cash only, but you can pay by card at the entrance to the zoo, then have to walk all the way back to your car to put the ticket in it
Brilliant place, even with some covid restrictions in place, very conservation driven. Take your own butties, limited food but plenty drinks available. Animals well looked after. Small shop for souvenirs, kid friendly. Definitely recommend.
I was warned not to expect much from this zoo but I absolutely loved it and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. So many different animals and all kept in excellent and well maintained enclosures. One if my favourite zoos.
Apart from the rain we had a good day. I hadnt been to Blackpool zoo for a while in fact we were concerned about the animals welfare. But since the investment the zoo looks brilliant all the enclosures were in good condition. I will return.
Lots of parking available although today was a quieter day I know it can be busy! A few things closed (not manydue to covid! Easy to walk around and see everything they have! No too much of a walk between the animals! The animals do look alert and healthy! On-site has food and facilities there’s a small park for children next to the picnic area! The ramps to some of the animals can be slippy especially on wetter days! The dinosaur exhibition area is great looks amazing and great for the kids as each Dino and animal has a bit of info to read! Prices are not too bad depending on how much you want to spend!
Absolutely loved this place. We spent they day here in November 2021. The weather was great for the time of year. Myself and my partner took our 16 month old son for a day outUpon arrival there was plenty of parking available, and the £3 all day fee was reasonable. We had booked our tickets online in advance so the reception was quick and we were in within a minute or two.The animals they have at Blackpool Zoo are impressive, but what we liked most was the lay out. It gave a very up close and person feel with the animals, as well as making sure things werent over crowded. We had planned to stay there for around 4 hours, but ended up staying over 6 hours. The grounds were tidy and clean, and I was really impressed with the prices of food and drink in the cafe. The prices were very reasonable and comparable to that at McDonalds. The last Zoo I had previously been to wanted £4 for just a sausage roll. Here you could get a meal for around £6, and they had further discounts for family meals etc.Overall the Zoo was worth the £20pp entry fee and we had a great time.
