Blackbirds' Grille in Sayville

I had dinner for the first time and I will definitely go back. Food was delicious and service exceptionally. From the house salad to dinner it was excellent.

Waiter was attentive. Food was fantastic.I highly recommend Blackbirds Grille

Place was decent. I am a huge Voodoo Crab fan, so I decided to come here and get their Po-Boys and of course their famous Gator Bites. I got my shrimp Po-Boy as usual. The thing I was most exited for was the Gator Bites. When I took out the staff were nice and quick with my order. When I tried out the food in my car the Gator Bites were decent. I had better ones in Louisiana, but they did a great job though. The shrimp Po-Boy was amazing! It was very crispy which I love. Coming here again soon!

A tad overpriced for the quality but dont get me wrong it was tasty. Its a high energy place where the owner will stop by and say hello.

This is the third time we are lunch at Blackbirds. If I rated it after the first time it would be a much higher grade. My wife and I both were very satisfied. The last two times my wife was disappointed in the seafood combo she ordered. All three times I was very happy with the three different beef lunches. They were busy so the service was slow although the waiter and waitresses were very friendly each time.

Got seated right away. Service was great. Only issue was food. Baked clams with little or no flavor. Chili w tortilla chips was good. Here is my main complaint. My wife ordered stuffed shrimp 🍤. There should be a rule that a stuffed shrimp needs to more than one mouthful. The shrimp were super small and the stuffing dollop was fitting for the little shrimp. I would go back and try some of the other menu items.

Very good food. Had a linguine with seafood very good. Husband had the broiled seafood platter he said it was very delicious.

As always..delicious food..big portions..excellent service..never feel rushed!

This took place a while ago so im getting around to it now!I still think its relevant! If you like to eat to a timed dining experience then Blackbirds is for you! Our family was just about done eating when we were told "Our time was up"! When i asked what that meant i was told they needed our table for the next group of customers! Never have i been told my time was up at a restaurant! I didnt know we were on the clock!I told the owner we would never return! His initial reply was that there were plenty of other restaurants we could go to! Hes right! He later tried to walk back those comments but the damage was done. and so therefor we wont go back to or recommend Blackbirds!

Celebrated my sons 30th birthday. Food was amazing and everyone enjoyed. Waitress and manager was very attentive. This is our 2nd time there and highly recommend this place

A restaurants main job is to give you a good experience. Blackbird Grill failed Friday evening at 5 pm. I have enjoyed many Baby Back Ribs at numerous restaurants. Never was I served rib tips. First for a restaurant this is a liabilty suit waiting to happen. Rib tips are full of small bones and cartilage. This part of the rib is usually eaten by staff or thrown out. So, this tells me the owner is very cheap even though their prices have doubled since pre-covid. Diner for 2 with 1 beer each was $40 to $50 total. Now its $80 to $100. We dine alfresco since covid. Friday evening was hot yet there were no fans or outdoor A/C. It took me 3 tries to finally get music playing. The beer was warm when first brought to table. We needed ice within minutes. It is understandable restaurants must raise prices since covid but gouging is not. This will be our last time at Blackbirds.

Went here last night! It was our first time there even though we have lived in the area for many years. My one daughter loves it there and we have her baby shower planned for next month at this restaurant. Never went thinking it was all spicy food..but its not!! So we went tonight to check out some of the food. We started with appetizers of baked clams...pulled pork pockets...and blazing chicken fingers. All delicious! What I liked about the chicken fingers is they put the hot sauce along with the Bleu cheese on the side! For dinner I had the stuffed shrimp with jasmine rice and vegtables...my husband had the fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and corn bread. My daughter had Thai grilled shrimp over grilled pineapple with jasmine rice and vegetables. We all enjoyed our meals. Sean our server was excellent and very friendly. They did not rush us and everything came out in a timely manor. We will definitely go back. And we cant wait for the shower next month!

A pleasant environment that offers delicious menu options. The food is cooked to order and you wont find a microwave in the kitchen. This establishment is very welcoming. They take care to remember your name. Im a repeat customer 😎

Ive dined here 3 times and I love the warm hospitality. The servers are great very friendly and helpful if u need it with ur order. I met the owner, what a beautiful soul he is. Highly recommend this bar grill.

We ran away from the rain and tried something different in Sayville! Most of the items on the menu are reminiscent of New Orleans so it was an instant love (Gator tail, jambalaya, fried crawfish, etc.We got the dry rub wings with a side of their homemade buffalo sauce. 😍 The fried green tomatoes, which came with a sauce thats No Other!! 🤩Our entrees were ordered off the specials menu (another huge plus when we go out.I got the lobster roll (coldbecause the bartender recommended it over the warm. Babe got the Mahi Mahi tacos (not too blackened by requestand they were cooked to perfection.The staff is so personable and we really enjoyed every min here. Will definitely come back.

The food was delicious, the waitresses were all wonderful and kind.

Been to quite a few bars and many a place. This might be the friendliest, warmest one yet.

Place is awesome. The vibe here is great, very attentive staff. Specials are great. When you order your food it comes as you ordered it. The bartenders have the best attitudes Ive witnessed in a while. The wings....fried green tomatoes...**chefs kiss** This was s first time visit, but will definitely be back.Reminiscent of our visit to NOLA.

Wow great food and a owner who cares about his business and customers, great staff as well

Never was disappointed eating at Blackbirds.Especially love their Burger and Brew day.

I flew up to Long Island from NC, for a few days(work related). My boss says "Lemme take yous to a spot with great food." He wasnt wrong. My entree was (2appetizers: Jambalaya and the Mudbug boil. The Jambalaya was excellent. Perfectly spiced and prepared. The crawfish boil was plentiful and tasty. You just cant go wrong with "baby lobsters". Our server was quick on refills and very gracious. I highly recommend.

The crabcake is so fresh and delicious. Stuffed shrimp, yum! Will definitely be back to try more!

Short staffed, and the fried food just tasted fried. The wings were good, and the barbecue ribs were amazing.

The food is the best. Always served hot. No matter how crowded. The staff treat you like family. My favorite place to dine as a couple or with a group of friends

Raw bar was excellent. Seafood fra Diablo was not spicy/hot as it should be. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly.Drinks not so good.

Such a big waste of time. Waited for 1 hour for our food and left without eating. Very rude bar girl. She dint let us leave the feedback I think she probably trashed my feedback. Will never ever go again. Pathetic service .

After sitting for 45 minutes watching every other surrounding table that came after us was served we walked out. We have our 6 year old with us, so i called en route another restaurant only to be passed off by the 1st person that answered the phone. The second person said " Didnt you see we were busy? I mean I dont know what happened and we are down a chef since covid." I said Im well aware it was busy however the table next to us was on dessert and paying the check so there was no reason they couldnt have served us. Our water was never refilled and we didnt get so much as an acknowledgement from our waiter that they were running behind. We wont be back nor will we be hosting our event there as thus was a trial for future events

The sauce was delicious. Im not really sure how to eat them though. Couldve used some instructions...

Super disappointed. Entrees took too long, I believe they werent entered until we asked about them, and my to go salad was completely wilted. It was posted online as a place to celebrate Mardi Gras but there wasnt any type of celebration, just some Cajun food.

Ive only had the burger here to go, but on 3 occasions. Me and the boys from work get them for lunch. We all live them. They are always cooked to perfection. Ive seen the menu and it looks great. Dinning room seems cozy. Looking forward to going there for dinner with my girl.

Its a very nice place, but the tables are too close together. The person next to me needed me to move every time he got out of his chair.The staff is very friendly. I did not expect it to close at 10pm on a Friday night, especially it being Valentines Day weekend. We only got there at 9:15pm. It was a rushed meal. All of the staff had their jackets on when we walked to the door.

I like Blackbirds. Good food and good prices. Actually, the food is excellent. Blackbirds gives you that hometown feel combined with really good meals and drink. It’s like Cheers, you can go there with your family or friends - or sit at the bar where people are glad you came.

Blackbirds is a great spot! It’s a great place to grab drinks and food with friends. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and drinks off their season cocktail menu. I can see why this place always draws such a crowd and is a lot of fun!

Food is good. Service is slow but ok. I probably eat there 12-15 times a year and it always seems like things take longer than they should. My kids love the cornbread.

My wife and I held our wedding reception here in 2019.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!Absolutely NO Complaints. Place was packed, had resivations, short wait. Appitizers were out FAST. Dinner was WONDERFUL. Waitress was OUTSTANDING. Owner even came around to make sure all was good. If any negative, place is a little loud. Definitely go back to try other foods!!

One of my favorite places to eat. Foods always good. Its guaranteed that I always at least get the Gumbo n Oysters, which are amazing. Atmosphere is very nice. After Dinner stayed a little longer an enjoyed some evening cocktails

5 stars without any hesitation! We ordered the muscles appetizer and entrees Fried chicken and Thai shrimp all served by Julia. Professional service and really good food!!

Nice restaurant to visit and enjoy a drink, burger or an entrée. The music is kept at a reasonable level so you dont have to yell. The menu is extensive enough to offer plenty of choices depending on your tastes. The downside: **be advise** there is a footnote on the menu stating an extra charge for credit card use and a 20% tip included for a group of six or more. Not sure about debit cards.

Arrived for our 6pm reservation for 5 and our table was waiting for us. Yay.We ordered three apps to share and they came out in about 30 minutes. The fried green tomatoes and the fried pickles were good but the calamari was like none I have seen before. No rings or tentacles, just what resembled fried clams. It was different but edible.About 30 minutes later the first two of our entrees arrived. That was followed about 15 minutes later with two of the remaining three entrees. After about another 10 minutes my entree finally arrived. At that point my friends had finished and I wasn’t hungry any more.The owner brought over my pastrami burger and I kindly asked for it to be wrapped to go as we had waited so long and wasn’t even hungry anymore.Instead of an “I’m sorry” I got a “you don’t know what we are going through”.I understand their is a shortage of workers but I’m sorry, we go out to eat to escape our troubles.The waitress Brittany was very nice and apologetic.At this point I don’t think that I would go back.

Never a bad meal. Always spot onChef! We had a baby shower this past Saturday! I cannot tell you how attentive, polite and respectful all of the staff was. I would definitely recommend you use this establiment for small parties and they have live music on Sundays!!

Stopped here by chance and was glad we did! As a NY transplant to Florida I come back for the old friends and good food. Was not disappointed! Had a great experience with Annie our server! Personal, friendly and attentive! All our food was delicious and had a great evening! Will definitely be back!

Long wait for food with 4yr old (2 hours). Food was fair. Server was good. Was charged 20% tip put on bill for group of 6; 5 adults 1 child 🙄But was not told! Caught 20% when figuring out tip.Was charged 3% twice for using credit card. After discussing 1 charge removed. 6:30 reservation 9pm After finalizing bill. Overall not good and the tipping and credit card charges should be up front!

The food was just okay but the drink I had make it a pear 🍐 I think was fantastic! On a side note I searched for black owned restaurants and this place came up. The owner was pleasant and introduced himself checking if everything turned out okay which was really nice, but hes white. Which is fine but dont advertise as black owned. Id would absolutely go back and sit at the bar.

Delicious Cajun food. The wait and noise is a bit rough, but the gator bites, cajun alfredo, crawfish, and surf and turf make up for it.

Had a great experience with great service. They were very attentive and friendly, the burger was cooked perfectly and had an all around great experience! Will be back
