American food & cocktails in a modern space incorporating reclaimed pieces from a historic building.
The Pork Flat Steak was fantastic. Juicy, very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The Alabama white sauce was a great addition.
Prices are high, but the food is worth it. This steak house wont let you down. The food is excellent and the service is excellent. Definitely recommend it.
Great stop for travelers looking for a drink and good food. I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately by a very friendly and professional bartender. Good selection of draft beers including rotating local and regional craft beers as well as a cocktail menu. Food options include a variety of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and entrees. I tried the buffalo chicken salad with rotisserie chicken, it was delicious! Satisfying portions of chicken and additional toppings; blue cheese dressing had plenty of actual blue cheese. Prices were a little high but not out of line for the portion size and quality. Definitely worth the stop if youre traveling through Montana!
This was one of the nicest places we went to. My husband had the tenderese flavourest steaks and I had one of the best tender porkchop. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent.
Great atmosphere with good food. The family was full and satisfied upon departure.
The Chicken Fried Steak was alright.. just not like grandma would fix it.. Not really worth writing home about .. you know..
Sooooo good! On my way home from Northern California and the pacific northwest and this is honestly the best meal Ive had. I got it to go and it was well packaged and a awesome amount of fixings and utensils. Highly recommend. Oh and the sausage sauerkraut soup was a revelation! How could I have gone 40+ years without having this delicious soup? Well done!
I have enjoyed the food at this restaurant many times. This time the salmon was a little dry or over cooked but it was still edible. Our server was nice.
Great place to visit and the food was amazing. Sam the bartender/server really knew her stuff. She definitely steered me in the right direction.
After 2 years of broiling steaks at Texas Roadhouse, I consider myself as a bit of a steak connoisseur. Deciding to stop for food and fuel on our way to Yellowstone my wife and I figured why not, It is directly off the highway and had decent reviews. Well it was a pleasant surprise, the 14oz Ribeye cooked to a temp of medium was perfect and the service was punctual. The young lady that waited on us was very helpful and had great suggestions to add to the delight of our meal. The look and feel of the restaurant was very clean and modern. Even the restrooms looked as if they have been put together with great detail. The overall ambience and experience was hands down a five star.ThanksBlack Iron Grill
If you find yourself in Miles City, MT you should eat at Black Iron. I loved the atmosphere here. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. The food and drinks are good. I would give them 5 stars but the prices are a little high.
Just a great restaurant with chicken and steaks prepared with great care. Lunch or dinner the Black Iron Grill presents a comfortable and calm atmosphere, friendly staff and varied menu. Well worth a visit to remember.
Beyond amazing. Out of this world…To die for.The bleu cheeseburger and all of their food is by far the best on the planet. My husband never stops talking about how good the burger was even after a few years. Staff are also amazing.
Huge thanks to Tara for making my visit to Black Iron perfect. Very attentive, quick to recommend her favorites, and made me feel right at home. Food was excellent and the only thing better was the service. Thanks also to Jenny for the dessert recommendation, it was outstanding!
Been wanting to try this place and was not disappointed. Beautiful, clean and well run. I loved being able to see into the kitchen and prep area. Food was very good and well priced.
This place was awesome! First time in Montana and it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! Also try the cowboy candy, but ONLY SAUTÉED as recommended by our awesome server Jennifer!
Locals said it is the best place in town, so we gave it a go. Prime Rib on Friday and Saturday bring in the crowd, so go early. Food and service was great. Loved the local history attached to the location. We had Prime Rib and Brisket, both were excellent, but the Brisket was tops.
Great food! (We had the flat steak and fies with a side salad.Good service too. The atmosphere is ok. You can see the kitchen and it makes it feel very busy. Next time, I want to try the chicken fried steak I saw someone else eating! Wow!
Food here is delicious! Fries were crispy, steak was perfectly cooked and was delicious. Food here is a bit pricey, but its worth it. An 8 oz sirloin is 20 dollars, a ribeye being 40. If youre nearby, definitely stop here.
We ate here twice on our vacation-one the way to Glacier and the way home. We loved the steaks, smoked chicken, salmon and the delicious house salad. Everything tasted fresh! The service was quick and efficient!
My rotisserie chicken meal was cooked and seasoned perfectly. And not to mention how amazing the crispy chicken mac and cheese was. Definitely have no complaints about it at all. And the staff was amazingly great.
Waitress was great and never let us go thirsty! Had the 16oz smaller prime rib, it was ok... maybe because i ordered medium/rare it was taste less... needed some or more flavor... rest of meal was delicious. "Whipped potatoes" and salad was great. Prices were high and establishment was busy.. friday night at 5.. like no kidding.. great food+economy+employees willing to do a great job=higher prices.. 😳✌️
The service here was excellent! Our waitress was friendly, efficient and helpful. This was our first visit so we were not familiar with the menu items. Our waitress gave us her thoughts on items we asked about and helped us make a good decision. We both had the beef brisket; it was excellent and tasted great! I should also mention how tasty the mashed potatoes were.We had an enjoyable and great tasting meal. Im sure youll be pleased with your meal here!
Wasnt bad. A tad high for price, especially the shrimp added to your steak..... Dont get it! 10 bucks for 2 shrimp. Service was pretty good, and I wont order a steak again. Overpriced IMHO.
The food is basically perfect - no other way to describe it. I had cowboy candy with mustard sauce. I am quite picky about beef, and these little pieces are just wonderful - perfect texture, no chewy bits, have that beef flavor. Also had a Caesar salad, huge portion, and the flavor is amazing, just what I wanted. Very happy that I stopped by.
Delicious, everyone was really nice and the food was delicious. Fish and chips were amazing, cowboy nachos delicious. Well be back.
This place was great! I am from out of town with my husband for his job. I didnt think it was going to be as good as it was, but I was definitely surprised. The best thing had to be that we had a woman of color as our server. This made my day because I am a minority! The service was great and so was the food. The cobbler put me in a great mood and food coma.
Very nice. Really good burger! Great selection of whiskey and bourbon.
Excellent food both times I went there. Blackened chicken Cobb salad was really good. Second time had a ceaser side salad which was a good portion along with prime rib sliders, delicious! Highly recommend going here for lunch or dinner!
The restaurant was nice, I liked that I could see the preparation of the food. The service was pleasant as well as the greeters. The food was good, however I could have used a little seasoning on the rotisserie chicken. Also the brisket was all sold out and that it what one of our party wanted. Overall a nice place to eat.
Best fried pickle spears my husband and I have ever had! French onion soup was disappointing though, just too oily.Fries were perfect! Husband said it was the best fish and chips(frieshe ever had! Ceaser was tasty, although I didnt like that my rotisserie chicken was refrigerated before hand. I prefer hot chicken, even on salad.Overall well worth it!
We had rotisserie chicken. Was overdone, very dry, not at all juicy as advertised. We prefer to order steak here, but they do not offer portions suitable for seniors - as in 4 or 6 oz. Even sharing a 14 oz rib-eye would mean too much meat for two women. As steak houses go, it is comparable to others in Montana but still expensive.
Very good food and service. We enjoyed Salmon, Creamy Tomato Soup, Caesar Salad, and Beef Brisket. All items were very good. They have a good beer selection as well.
Great employees, awesome food, close to town. A little expensive but worth the extra dollars.
Excellent bar and restaurant. Way better than what you would find in a typical metropolitan strip mall and it would not be out of place in the hip parts of Denver or Minneapolis. But to find it right off the freeway in a small town in Montana was wonderful. Quick friendly service, knowledgeable and friendly bartenders. Wish I lived closer, I’d be a regular
Had a great experience at the bar. $6 hornitos tequila, can’t beat that. Right off the highway and a short walk to many hotels. Great place to grab a drink and some grub. The portions are large so come hungry. I had the Cajun tortellini to-go and it was pretty tasty. Every business can have a bad day, but burning them in a bad review is excessive. If something isn’t right, ask for it to be corrected. Amazing what will happen when you just communicate.
Very good food, unique environment. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. We were impressed with the portion sizes, and the coffee was absolutely fantastic!
This place is pretty damn good I was on my way up to Williston from Cheyenne and this place was a sight for sore eyes for sure. The food was absolutely delicious I had the country fried steak which is extremely feeling because it’s so big. I’ve been known to clean up a 20 ounce ribeye but I couldn’t take on this thing LOL. I had the French onion soup also, unfortunately I wasn’t too crazy about it. A lot of people have given good reviews, I think it’s just a personal preference of mine it was my first time having it and it just wasn’t my cup of tea, course it doesn’t mean you won’t like it. Wash it all down with cold beer and you have yourself a good night. Try this place out you won’t get it.
Im an over-the-road Truck Driver who had been craving a steak actually worth eating for the past few weeks. While speaking with dear friend who is a fellow truck driver And also a former Chef, I relayed this to him. He told Me to hold tight & hed make a few calls as to where I should go that was convenient for me to park, well worth the money, delicious & opened late enough for me to finish my drive time for that day.Enter the referral to Black Iron Grill..I am so glad he referred me here! This quaint place surpassed my expectations I got the 24oz & was able to eat leftovers TWICE! I think it was EVER HAD! At least the best that I can recall since before the start of the pandemic. The sides I ordered perfectly complemented my entree. It was perfectly medium-rare & as large as My plate with just enough fat to keep it juicy. Well worth the money. The sides were so hard to choose because all the options sounded delicious. The place was casual yet had higher end offerings that were a pleasant surprise. Who knew a little place like this would offer truffle fries?? Or the ability to have King Crab to make it Surf n Turf??As a former Server/Bartender, I have a very high standard of how I should be served. My Server was absolutely PERFECT.I certainly hope I get the chance to return to the area because I will make the time to stop & duplicate my experience. If I could rate it 10+ start, I would have. It was that enjoyable!
Fantastic food, good atmosphere. Surprising quality, the steak salad was the best I’ve ever had, a great combination of ingredients. Medium rare came out %100 accurate (not common for any steak, especially one being paired with a saladburger had fresh vegetables and we enjoyed the beverage list. Would come back.
Amazing food!!!! The flat iron steak was cooked to perfection. The mahi mahi was tender and delicious. The ribs were to die for. And Jenny is an amazing server!! Give that girl a raise!!
4 stars? 5 stars?A very difficult place to rate. The service is nice, the restaurant is super clean, the food is great and correspond to the expected standard: Good meat, good presentation, good side.It is a pricey place but fair for a steak house where you will spend $30-60 per person.I read on their wall that they are the twelve best steak places in Montana. And this is not surprising, great quality in the food and service everything as expected but nothing special... That is probably why they are not top three or five.Nothing that makes you remember the meal for ever. Nothing that set them apart in the realm of the steak house.Look around the restaurant is modern and well decorated but it lack personality, it is a little blend. The food is great - Delicious meat but again nothing out of the expected. No wow factor. At the end, they get a high 4 stars. Also we had tiny hiccup in the service. Nothing bad- To be Honest some of the waiters were carrying other a little less.It is still a good steak house.
A little pricey. A little slow. I wasnt in love with the french fries, which I believe are just from frozen. The burger was good, though strangely cooked around medium on one half and well done on the other. Might have been a hot spot on the grill. And the "grill marks" on top of the bun definitely left a burned bread taste. The hostess was really nice and handled a busy time very well. Busboy checked on me to see if I needed a refill on my water, too.Would not stop again while traveling, but if I were local I would give it another shot.
Excellent food, excellent location right off the interstate. Y’all make sure you get the Bloody Mary here, it was the most amazing one I have ever had. We started with the drinks and a dish they call cowboy Candy, beef tips that were so tender, we ordered ours pan-seared and the flavor was so good! My husband had the Prime rib French dip and mashed potatoes and gravy. I had chose the Ginger chicken noodle soup and it was so damn good. This place is conveniently located across from a truck stop for all you truckers. You cannot go wrong here! Make sure to sit in the bar and ask for Joe, best bartender/server ever!
Amazing food and location in ND right off the interstate. Service was quick, the interior design is very pleasing. Tables and both sear four comfortably. Definitely a must stop and experience restaurant.
Been here twice on my cross-country trip. Both times had the baseball top sirloin steak. Both times was highly impressed and loved it with my heart and soul.I would stop here again anytime. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes that you receive. Ive eaten in some of the best steak houses around the country this place is up there.
Excellent food today. We had a cheeseburger and fries as well as Beef Brisket sandwhuch with mashed potatoes and gravy. Wonderful flavors and we will be back if we are ever in town again.
Stopped by for lunch today passing through on our way to Billings. Everyone was super friendly, the restaurant was clean and the staff was wearing PPE and practicing social distancing. Very good experience overall. My wife had the gumbo and a salad - both were tasty. I had the BBQ brisket sandwich and house chips. I was surprised the sandwich had the BBQ sauce mixed in and the brisket was pulled. It was a good combo though - the smoked meat with the sweet BBQ sauce and cheese.
Nice elegant yet casual atmosphere. The steaks were great but were a little overdone from how we ordered them. Unfortunately, no one asked if we were happy with the rarity. Other than that, great meal. You can also take your receipt to the casino in back and show it for 5 dollars comp.
Micki is an outstanding server. She is very vivacious and knowledgeable about the menu items and ready to give advice if asked. The truffle fries are fantastic, the pork belly sandwich is amazing, and the deserts are sumptuous. Try the lava cake with a shot of Baileys Irish CreamThey have a great selection of beers with 16 on tap.The atmosphere is very laid back and everything is spotlessly clean. On a second visit, Im afraid that I have to drop a star from my review.I wont mention names, but our server was not nearly as good this time. The pork belly sandwich was not nearly as good this time and the country fried steak was very chewy. The tomato bacon soup on the other hand was excellent and the French onion soup was outstanding. The truffle fries never disappoint and the Yukon gold mashed potatoes were above par.
