Rustic-chic bistro serving eclectic small plates such as tacos & dumplings, plus burgers & entrees.
I love this place!! The menu is unique and huge, you order food and soft drinks on your phone and pay that way too. You have a separate bar tab. Everything I tried was so good: mozzarella gyoza with marinara had an Asian twist, the fried green beans were cooked perfectly, and the steak in the tacos was lean and tender and delish.Update: still love it. Went back after a long absence and everything was still yummy. I had the kalbi taquitos, DH had the Korean chicken tacos and we shared the tempura green beans smothered in Parmesan cheese. Fusion deliciousness...!!!
This restaurant has a great staff and food. I tried the Korean bbq chicken tacos paired with the summer in the grove cocktail and it was delicious. I recommend this place because the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
Love the coconut risotto! It reminds me of Thai tom kha soup. :)
The woman who served us was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Korean Chicken Salad, and aside from some crunchy noodles and the Asian-inspired dressing, it was just a salad. It would have benefited from Korean-spiced chicken. My husband got the salmon burger and tots. He liked it and appreciated the hefty portion. I would have ordered the molten chocolate cake, but it was $11 and I couldnt bring myself to order a dessert that would almost double the cost of my meal. Not sure why this was so high when most of the meals were reasonably priced. Anyway, I would go back for the service and the eclectic menu.
Korean tacos were good. Calamari def pass. Friendly staff
This was… not good. Three stars credited for the hardworking, friendly woman running the bar, waiting tables, seating folks, busing tables: one-woman show. Two very young men were running the kitchen and doing what they could but seemed out of their depth. The digital-only menu is a strangely conceived, excessively long, and poorly executed Americana interpretation of mostly Asian flavors and dishes. To be fair, several people enjoyed their meals but most did not.Prices are much too high for what was served, paired with a ridiculously expensive system for add-ons. Want a sprinkle of onion on your taco? Add $0.50. Want cheese? $0.75. The tacos in this photo were $6 each, not good ingredients or taste, and had no included sides. In my opinion, Bites will have to seriously bring up the quality or bring down the prices and trim the menu if they hope to stay in business.
Pretty good food, great for small bites. The table tent says to order on your phone but just before I did, someone came to take our order
Very cute little restaurant. My friend and I stopped in on our way to a wine tasting and shared some appetizers. I also has a strawberry mojito. The drink was very good and all the food was unique and delicious. Fast and friendly service. And their homemade kimchi sauce is so yummy!
Cancelled my order. The appropriate customer service response would have been, "We apologize for this inconvenience..." You should note and update that for all your third party online ordering vendors, because my order got approved and it told me you were making it with an ETA. Theres definitely an issue there and the response here was not appreciated.
Worst service ever experienced at a restaurant. Just about every detail botched up. Food came out at 3 different times, 3 people already ate and still had to ask when the 4th had no food. Was told to order online sitting at the table, then that order was lost.
Done with these over complicated QR code ordering which had me spending 15 minutes trying to get it processed. Then five minutes later told it didn’t go thru.Customer service sucks and prices are high. So before you even get a meh meal it is a bad experience .
The food is decent but I would not recommend relying their online ordering and was not impressed with the customer service. They are consistently late on the time listed for pick up. One time it was particularly late, and I expressed my frustration to the manager who was very dismissive. I suggested that they could send an update to those who place online orders that they were running late and she insisted they couldnt. I asked about a discount for the inconvenience, also a no. Just felt like they didnt seem to think it was even an issue.
The food is delicious, the atmosphere is warm, Sudha and the staff are amazing. We had a special event here and our experience was very positive. The selection of food is excellent - our group especially loved the gyoza and green bean appetizers! I highly recommend Bites restaurant!
I had the Calimari and the crab cakes. The Calimari was delicious, the breading on it just right. Very worth the $10 menu price. The crab cakes were ok. Not very much crab flavor, a little burnt and only four. So their menu price of $10 I felt was a little steep. The service was great. Fast, friendly and very polite. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite.
The family and I decided to have Bites delivered. All three burgers were raw after I asked for all to be well done. The buns were soggy to the point you couldn’t eat. I only live 2 mins from the restaurant so it’s not that it took to long to get to us. I gave 2 starts cause the fires and tater tot’s were good.
Super-amazing, eclectic menu, great service too! The taquitos were to die for.My only problem was dealing with the problematic website and delivery. I was stuck for a half an hour trying to get the order made. I ended up just calling in the order without a hitch. As long as you dont mess with the website or delivery, you are in for a treat.
Great food but we went as 5 people and they didnt give us individual tabs, instead split the bill 5 ways and made my $10 bowl of pasta cost me $23 before tip.. with a better payment system Id definitely go back.
Great food & warm feeling restaurant. Had Miso shrimp pasta others had chicken parmesan pasta & loved it! Good beer selection &;drinks!
Wonderful dishes! I had the chicken Donburi, and my wife had the All-American Burger and sweet potato fries. Everything was fantastic. The Donburi included kimchee, which produced a lovely flavor. We need to go back and try more of their menu.
Interesting tapas-style food. The owner is a lovely lady who took very good care of all her customers.
My husband and I use to really enjoy coming here, they had great food and drinks. Then they went under new ownership (& without an OLCC permit for a few monthsso when we finally decided to come back, it seems they’ve switched all of their food to frozen, my chicken burger was still cold in the middle, the boneless wings were little hard nuggets that tasted freezer burnt, my mojito was vodka (not rumand had coconut flavor in it. Everything was just really odd, additionally service was slow. I wasn’t going to leave a review, but then saw the snarky comments from “the owner” replying to other reviews & arguing, which solidified my desire to never return. Our new spot is Black Dog in Forest Grove- amazing food & drinks, fast service, never disappoints! Definitely go anywhere but Bites.
This is my new to go spot with my husband! I recommend "the summer in the grove" as a refreshing cocktail. My husband ordered an old fashion which was excellent. Liquor selection has improved immensely. As for the food, we shared the Almond Cranberry Salad, Nashville Hot Chicken Burger, Boneless Buffalo wings, Parm Green Beans, and a side of Sweet Fries. It was absolutely delicious. I recommend Bites restaurant to anyone that wants to experience quality service and a diverse menu.We will be back with our friends next time!
Sauces are amazing! Dine-in is definitely the way to go. Fabulous for a date night, or just a nice dinner with friends. This is my favorite dinner spot in town.
I order the boneless wings, and the cucumber salad, and the BLT pasta, all were so incredibly good! Highly recommend! If their food is this good for delivery, I can only imagine how it is in the restaurant!
Very interesting location. Food was definitely different and I enjoyed the appetizers very much. Main entree was good I look forward to coming back to try a few different things. Service was absolutely incredible.
The restaurant is very nice, but the waitress makes it actually worth coming back to. Sudha obviously takes pride in what she does, because I haven’t enjoyed that good of service in 1 and a half years. I’m not joking, I know for a fact I’m coming back soon and it’s only because of her. Do with that as you will!
My husband and I are visiting from out of state and had Bites recommended to us. So glad we were able to try it out! This charming restaurant has such a diverse food menu and cocktail list, and everything we tried was excellent. The tempura avocado was to die for! I just wish we had time to come back again and try more of the menu. This place is under new management, and while I never tried the restaurant before, you can tell the owner is working hard to make a great restaurant even better. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I loved that the owner spent time talking to us and making sure everything about our visit was high quality.
I was a little skeptical about how the food was going to taste, just because they offer so many different types of food (ramen, burgers, pastas, mexican). But the food was excellent, I had Ramen, my kids had a chicken burger and regular burger and the wife a rice bowl. All of us were very happy with our meals. Thank you!
Don’t know if it was a bad night, or cause we got take-out but it was not good and not worth the money at all! Got chicken noodle soup, it’s just chicken broth and frozen chicken, zero flavor and not worth the $13. The kids meals are over priced for what they are, chicken tenders are 4 bites of chicken, smaller than a golf ball for $7. And the tempura shrimp tacos, although the best out of all, had so much wet sauce that everything was soggy. It was such a disappointment :(
I loved the Shoyu butter Raman and my husband got the chicken marinara pasta. Definitely recommend this fine establishment. Drinks were amazing as well. Keep up the great service, friendly new management.
Was once a go to spot for my family and I, but the new owners have taken the restaurant in a downhill direction. Recently, I ordered my go to meal and the meat was bland and rubbery, rice was unseasoned, and half the items in the dish’s description weren’t included in the meal. Clearly, there’s been some cost-cutting. Each time I go back, the food gets more and more disappointing and bland. Would not recommend.
Amazing, authentic, and worth every penny. The pasta dishes are amazing. Cant say to much about much else as I cant stop ordering their pasta. Super friendly service and great atmosphere in the restaurant.
I was super excited to try this place out because of the decent reviews, mention of delicious beer, and a picture of some tasty ramen on their menu. We got there and found out their under new ownership (which is finebut also meant that they didnt have an olcc license and couldnt serve beer. I went and ordered their butter ramen and my husband ordered the "fusion nachos."Both of our orders came out (like 5 minutes laterand in my meal, the noodles were undercooked. My soft boiled egg was extremely salty from the soy sauce and cold in the middle. I assume they precooked everything, threw it together and serve it to customers. It was... fine, but I was expecting something more. Not to mention the amount of garlic that was used. Its over 12 hours later, and one toothbrush, and I can still taste the garlic.
Well it’s true. My favorite restaurant is officially gone. The new owners seem to be more into cost savings than decent food. No surprise that when I picked up my order the restaurant was empty. My Dynamite nacho didn’t have one shrimp on the order. The calamari and crab bites looked and tasted straight out of the cash and carry freezer. So disappointing. I will be hard pressed to go back.
Amazing food! Super friendly staff and owners. I understand its under new ownership but in time, itll get smoother. Looking forward to when they start serving alcohol. Best of luck!
Came here for the first time and it’s amazing! The menu is very diverse and everything is delicious. There are even gluten free options!! I will definitely be back. Staff was very kind and the new management is amazing. My experience was wonderful and I will be back soon with my family.
Ordered chicken Marinara to go and when I tried eating it at home it seemed to have a lot of garlic that was possibly uncooked. The chicken and bread roll it came with were fine, the chicken was even good but the pasta had so much garlic it hurt. I could barely eat any. First time ordering food from bites. Ive had desserts in the past from Bites and those are good, just disappinted that the food wasnt great.
I’m so disappointed. This place used to be awesome 5 years ago to last year. Food quality went way down. We kept thinking maybe it was just an “off” night and gave the place 5 chances to improve. Unfortunately, last night was the last straw. They’re changing ownership, no alcohol, paperless menu/ordering service so the only time you see a server is when you get your food. We had 5 adults, the food all came out at different times, and our drinks didn’t even come out until we were almost done eating. It was bad.I’m really really sad because this used to be my favorite place to eat.
My wife and I are super local. Andrew and his crew run this place amazingly… nice to have a little Korean Asian American fusion in FG.From the Tempura avocado and $5 delicious monitors, to the burgers and salads. A wonderful verity and a decent price.Great people and wonderful food. Love this place
I’ve been going to Bites since they opened. We have always enjoyed their food. During Covid, we ordered to go a lot and had No issues with the food. Tonight was the first night we went into actually dine and I will not be doing that again. To order and look at the menu you have to scan a QR code. This is no issue for me, but is a definite issue for my 80+ year old grandma who had a hard time looking at a menu on a phone. I don’t know any elderly person that would feel comfortable scanning a QR code and ordering online. The scanning wasn’t working for us and the waitress said she would just take our order manually, ok. 15 minutes plus went by and she still didn’t come to our table. I’m not really certain what the point is of going to dine in when we essentially don’t have a waitress and have to order and pay from our phones. It seems so cold to me. Any ordering I will be doing will be online from them.
Woah this place was excellent! I got the Boss Burger along with parmesan tots and tempura avocado. Everything was delicious and service was great! Cant wait to try other things on the menu
Disappointing, This place has so much potential... I want to start by saying our server was fantastic! she got us our drinks and appetizers right away. The appetizers where tasty amd hit the spot, but the drinks were sub par. My wife’s drink came out in a dirty cup to start. And to top it off, we waited an hour and a half for our entrees!!! Totally unacceptable! After sitting there for two hours we had to take our food to go. We asked to speak with the manager, he came out and was only making excuses and totally unapologetic. There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant and he put "to-go" orders in ahead of the people who were actually in the restaurant. The drink options were minimal because they where out of a lot of items, my wifes meal was incomplete because they didnt have all the ingredients. This guy has no idea how to run a restaurant and needs to be replaced in my opinion. You can forget any chance of us returning, unless the owner of this restaurant acts quickly and replaces this manager.... As a business owner myself, I would fire this guy as fast as I could and find someone with some actual customer service skills, if I hope to keep my doors open.
Another Forest Grove gem! From the decor to the service and the fusion dishes this place is top notch. For appetizers we tried the mozzarella egg rolls, garlic parmesan green beans and crab cake bites with hot Korean ginger tea. The mozzarella egg rolls are simply amazing. Green beans are great on there own but add garlic parmesan and wow. The crab cake bites were great. The accompanied sauces that come with the mozzarella egg rolls and the green beans stole the show for me. They have such amazing flavors. I had the K-Town tacos with beer batter fries and the udon carbonara with chicken. The Kalbi beef taco was delicious and comes with fresh house tortillas. The beer fries were fresh crispy and flavorful. The udon carbonara was perfect and I loved the addition of thick udon noodle for this dish. Also the plum saké is a must try. Will definitely be coming back! 5🌟
First time eating here, and we had a great experience. Not many great restaurants in Forest Grove, at least not many modern ones. Burger was great, as were the fries. The breakfast sandwich was a nice touch. Interior had a spacious but cozy feel.
Food was tasty and served promptly. There was only one gal working the floor and she was running her butt off. She did an amazing job. Super busy with 7 decent sized tables, including 2 outside. Did it all with a smile on her face. Total rock star.
Shrimp nachos were good but these 4 crab cakes for 9$ were not well proportioned. The penny in the picture is for reference...
Excellent fare, good Drafts and Spirits! We had Teriyaki Chicken sandwich and a Classic American Burger... both done to perfection. Staff was extremely polite and efficient. And as Arnold would say. "Ill be back!"
Loved this placeGreat atmosphere, good food, good service.Had the naked burger, it was perfect, a side of salad with ginger dressing. My husband had a regular burger with fries and thoroughly enjoyed it.The menu offers a lot of more adventurous "fusion" dishes that loojed appetizing but we were just in the mood for some standard american food which they make very well also.Would definitely come back and try something different.
Crab cakes are delicious but you only get 4 small bites. Fish and chips are made with salmon but but terribly flavorful, dumplings and wings are pretty good.
I went to Bites after a tour of Sake One. The venue has vaulted ceilings and a modern open feel. The menu was asian fusion. I ended up ordering the Galbi Tacos. The food was good and I had some deep fried string beans on the side. The quality of the restaurant was a surprise find in Forest Grove which I don’t think of as a food destination. If you are in the area this is a great place for a small or large group for lunch or dinner.
