Very helpful, managed to fit us in without a reservation on a very busy Saturday night. Service was efficient and staff were friendly and polite. Food was delicious. Looks as if there were nice vegetarian options and prices were reasonable. Managed to be both classy and relaxed!

Amazing venue for my sons wedding. Staff couldn’t have been more attentive, food was first class from the children’s choices to the perfectly cooked rump steaks! Would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. Absolutely fantastic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We used to love this place but havent been for about 6months and thought we have a nice relaxing chilled out evening. Greeted by a waitress named Indi we had booked for seven pm and the place wasnt busy we were shown to a table next to a piller I wasnt prepared to have that and requested a different one and very reluctantly Indi let us change we really should of left then. there wasnt the drink that we normally have so ended up with water. ordered 2 starters nice, I ordered pork medallions my husband the chicken unfortunately the chicken was very dried out and looked like it had been kept warm and my husband left it, mine was nice hence the 2stars no one at any time came and asked how the meal was or if we required more drinks my husband told the manager about his meal of which he replied Ill tell the chef and here we are still waiting for some feed back? overall because of the very poor service and couldnt care less attitude of the front of house staff we both wont be visiting again

we were a party of ten yesterday afternoon, early evening. The food and service were excellent, even though they were short staffed due to illness, the service could not be faulted. We will all be eating there again and thoroughly recommend them.

Very nicely decorated and atmosphere inside, lovely food and drinks menu with good standards, however the service was a little bit slow considering it wasnt a very busy night. All in all, I would like to go here again.

Had 3 course lunch. Didnt need to reserve plenty of available seating. Attentive waitress, but lacked a bit of knowledge about menu - suspect she was new, so forgivable. Soup came a bit cold, other starters were tasty and we all enjoyed our main course. Desert was average. Nice atmosphere. Loos clean. Would go again.

Went to this French-ish place on a recommendation at lunchtime on a Sunday between work. I had the hullumi salad which was excellent. The roasts looked ok, but why would you get a roast in a place that serves mostly French style dishes... Very confusing pricing system for the set menu, but the staff were attentive and the espresso was surprisingly delicious

Mock French bistro with a disappointing lack of ambience. The drinks order was wrong twice, my minute steak was overcooked and my coffee failed to appear. Im guessing the staff have better days, but I wont be back to find out.

Bistrot Pierre is a beautifully designed restaurant, and the food was delicious. The cheese we ordered for the end of our meal didnt come as expected (youre given a choice of three cheeses, and myself and my partner ordered a different kind each, and were instead presented a single cheese board with three wedges of three different cheesesbut was still well received. The service was excellent upon arrival however after our main courses became quite slow despite the restaurant becoming quieter. However, we had a wonderful experience and the absolutely could not fault the food, or the friendliness of the staff. Certainly one of the better eateries in Middlesbrough.

Went for Sunday lunch with relatives 3 had Sunday lunch 1 had a chicken risotto 1 had sea bass and a child’s menu. All 3 Sunday Lunches were left sitting on the top waiting to come out for 10 mins. They were all sent back as cold. The chicken on the risotto was raw inside. When the waitress took them back to the chef we were addressed as them lot out there. The response from the chef was I can’t do anything about that. The staff then started arguing amongst themselves and could be heard by customers in the restaurant. We also saw others sending food back.We felt that the chefs had no pride in what they were presenting. We have eaten regularly and only once before been disappointed then also the food was cold but the restaurant was very busy.

Having never tried this place decided to give it a go. It is not the more upmarket place we imagined it to be. We are not hard to please but what a let down on all accounts. Having mild allergy requested a different dip to go with my starter other than garlic, what came with but the garlic told me no tartare dip available. Ordered fillet steak medium rare came overdone so took it back to cook a fresh one for me, after a wait of 10 minutes staff informed me that the chef had now cleaned the grill so no food to be given in place of it. Found this shocking that it took 10 minutes to tell me this as the place was very quiet, only one other couple in. This was before 9.30pm Being business people we are used to eating in good places but this seemed no better than a fancy fast food establishment. Seemed to be lack of communication with the staff, would hate to see it on a busy night. They seem to rely on the Holiday Inn next door for customers giving them discount. This place certainly needs a shake up. Very badly run.

Really good food, atmosphere very classy but not so much that we felt out of place, probably one of the nicest places to eat in Middlesbrough. Not cheap, but worth it for a treat. No more expensive than you would expect from this type of restaurant.

Service was shocking. Not particularly busy yet food was a 45 minute wait...and those who came in after us were happily munching away. Staff had no idea which tables to take food to, and the tables themselves are physically too small..aswell as cramped together. The food was average. The chicken dish i had was more a dish of fat and bone...gross. Not a place i would recommend at all. For a cuppa whilst shopping though..go for it. Latte was delish!

Have been to Bistrot Pierre three times now on business lunches. Good selection of food, good quality. Service is pleasant but sometimes slow during lunch even when its not overly busy. Lovely interior with good facilities. Lunch offer prices were very reasonable for what you get. Would recommend for business lunches and daytime dining in general, having not tried the evening menu.

Went on Saturday night. Restaurant was busy but not packed. Ordered bruschetta which was just sliced bread. As a result, the goats cheese and beetroot topping was bland. My wife ordered a fillet steak medium rare which came rare and my son ordered a rare steak which was blue. We ordered an extra portion of mixed veg which never came but thankfully didnt appear on the bill either. Expect to wait a good 10 - 15 minutes for a drink when ordered from your table. Food 5/10 Restaurant 4/10

As a family I booked a table for 4 adults and 1 child. When my son got to the restaurant before me with his wife and child thee was no record of the booking. Why??Then I and my mother arrived. We ordered drinks which took over 20 minutes or more to arrive we then placed our order.I and my daughter in law are coeliac and I am vegetarian but eat fish occasionally. My started was pear and blue cheese and walnuts. ..very scarce cheese and small scraps of pear with a few scraps of various lettuce leaves. Very poor my mothers main turned up cottage pie....almost burnt to a crisp I would have been ashamed to serve that. My meal of fishcake was awfull salty and almost drowned in a mustard sauce. Vegetables, a very small dish for two three florets of broccoli three scraps of courgette and couple of carrots all spongy, obviously reheated in hot water, a small dish of roast potatoes almost burnt. I was not happy but as it was a family outing I did not complain as it is upsetting. Total bill £80 plus. Never again. Chefs !!!!

Food was average and service was laughably bad. Came with a friend for breakfast when no one else was there - waitress was on a personal call, saw us and ignored us for a few minutes before seating us. Took ages to take our order too and the food was overpriced and bland.

Disgraceful. As a very regular customer with my husband over the last year at least twice a month we are extremely upset and disappointed with the customer service and inefficiency today. We ended up walking out of the restaurant at 1pm today having booked our boxing day meal several weeks ago and being specifically asked by staff if we wanted a specific table, which we did. Upon arrival our table was occupied and when we explained, we did not believe that staff took our displeasure seriously and we were offered a table nowhere near agreed. Having looked forward to our visit we were extremely disappointed and asked to see the manager. When this did not happen we went to the till and when the person in charge appeared we were just told that the member of staff who booked the specific table shouldnt have done so. Now as you all know as regular customers we know that this does happen as on our last visit we got moved from a table which staff realised was pre booked. Make your mind up bistro pierre. My husband and I felt that we were just being told to close the door on your way out. Staff could have made things right for us. Clearly training required in this area. As there are many places to eat in middlesbrough town centre we went up the road to Al fornos and had the most delicious meal with marvellous customer service. Bistro pierre send your staff there for some training. Very very poor, though lucky for us we have found a new regular place to eat.

Enjoyed the festive visit and my meal was good value though steak was a bit tough. A friend had turkey and it was dry as a bone. Others enjoyed soup starter and salmon main, puddings and house red. Veg very plain and roast spuds not as expected - looked factory made. Staff very pleasant and decor modern if a bit lacking in colour and luxury. A great place for a lunch in town for under £20 and when little things are corrected (i.e.very little sauce jugs and very little ice-cream portionsthe future will be brighter. Good location for staff get togethers, ideal for shopping.

The food is ok, but price is a bit high (compare with the quality of food). I like their calamari, its really good with the cover very crunchy and the squid still soft and moister inside. It has been deep fried very well and on time. Another dish not too special.

Excellent! Staying at the Holiday Inn next door, many people recommended the Bistrot Pierreand they really werent wrong! Im a bit of an oaf when it comes to French food but the waiters were more than happy to take the time to explain the manu and make recommendations. Food was fantastic, really tasty. Portion size was good, although those with strong appetites might need a pudding. If you do, I cant recommend the autumn fruit crumble enough... Really was quite possibly the nicest I have ever had!

The food was first rate. Ambiance superb but we were a large party and they messed up the bill. Took 40 minutes to sort it and apparently they put a huge service charge on large parties. They didnt tell us. Also friends boss paid for a glass of bubbly for everyone on arrival which we didnt know at the time. We didnt get it. Boss rang and They said theyd forgotten until wed left. But they had remembered and not bothered to reimburse until prompted.

Really flavourful and beautifully presented food.I was visiting Middlesbrough for a day and we ended up finding this lovely restaurant. While the staff was nice and helpful, that wasnt the only nice thing about it. The building itself is really different in the inside from the outside. Inside it has quite a rustic feel to it, with a mismatch of tables that actually works pretty well. When it comes to the food, the menu is simple but with a nice twist to it. We ended up ordering a chicken and cheese salad, two beef stews and a risotto. All of the plates were nicely presented and really tasty. The staff was fast when bringing the food as well.Overall a nice experience for small group or a family meal. I would definitely recommend it.

Such a shame because I really wanted to like this place. To begin with the biggest issue, a gluten intolerant member of our party was served regular bread despite clearly and specifically ordering gluten free. Luckily this is not a life threatening allergy otherwise things could have been a lot worse. Shes now suffering severe stomach pains and feels very lucky that is all.Unfortunately this wasnt the only issue we had. We were quite a large party (12for fathers day breakfast. We booked well in advance. After being seated it was about 20 minutes before someone took drink orders. The restaurant was maybe half full. So this seemed like an unnecessarily long wait, but I could overlook this. When a server came to bring cups for the advertised unlimited tea or coffee we were practically shouted at "WHO ORDERED COFFEE???", and when we didnt immediately answer cups were thrown down onto the table and we were told to hand them out to whoever wanted them. Now, let me be clarify that this wasnt casual friendly service (with which I am more than happy in any establishmentbut outright aggressive and rude. I felt like I was in punishment for daring to come to a restaurant. A bad continuation to a poor start.Well, once we finally got our food orders in we waited almost an hour during which we had no service. No one checking in, no one refilling drinks (which were advertised as unlimited), no one apologising for the wait. And again, the restaurant was only half full.It is a shame because I am sure the staff can do better. I dont know why there wasnt slightly more effort made. I can deal with a long wait if the staff make you feel comfortable in the meanwhile. But sadly I felt the opposite. I felt I was imposing. Which is bizarre in a restaurant where I am paying to eat and drink. The food itself was good enough but poorly presented (see photos). But unfortunately the whole experience was topped off by serving an allergen to a customer who clearly stated her restrictions.Perhaps this was just a bad shift. But Id say the team need to take a look at their errors and seriously make some changes so that your diners feel welcome and comfortable. Im afraid youve lost 12 customers today! What an awful shame.

Went for my dads birthday on a Saturday night, there were 6 of us. We arrived earlier to have a drink, there isnt a huge bar area but we were happy to sit at our table as it was ready and have a drink. Not a great selection of ciders, one bottle and one on tap. Decent wine selection and gins. Enjoyed the food (husband and I had the bouillabaisse which I would strongly recommend), had 3 courses and shared wine. Staff were friendly and attentive, although they could be a little better at talking to each other. We were asked about drinks several times by different people. When we got the bill, you also get a tablet to do an immediate review (I assume this is instead of a comment card). Im not sure this was explained to us and my dad was a little confused as to why we had been given it or what we were supposed to do.

Good menu and gorgeous atmosphere, I hadnt expected from a chain restaurant. Friday evening and every table busy but not overcrowded or noisy. (Icy blast every time the door opened so try to get a table further inside!Waiting staff didnt speak French even though the menu items are listed in French, so we had to point and translate into English, but they were attentive and friendly so no complaints there. Portions were generous and well presented. Duck pate starter was a favourite, as was the pigeon with plum sauce. Spinach ricotta balls in tomato and bechamel sauce was ok, possibly too dry. Boeuf bourgignon superb. One tiny dish of veg and some potatoes was not enough for 4 people though.

We went here for our anniversary as the food and reviews looked very promising. On arrival the restaurant was almost to capacity which was a good sign. We got seated by the front of house who gave us a menu and specials menu before walking off without telling us who was going to be serving us. We then waited a while before someone approached us for drinks without introduction (a little unprofessional). When asked for our food order we were told that we should’ve been told that our first choice of one of the specials was not available as we were given the menu... he also told us that they had no dauphinois potatoes (however they would have had all of the simple ingredients to make itso he went away and eventually came back and told us that we could now have the wood pigeon but still had no potatoes. This also happened with dessert, wasn’t told what was or wasn’t available then ordered and was told there was no brownies, again he disappeared for ten minutes and came back to tell me I could have a brownie. I can only imagine he went round other tables telling them they could no longer have one (good for me, but very unprofessional). There was also a long wait between courses but understandable for a busy night. It’s a shame the service was so poor as the food was of high standard (except for the lead shot in my pigeon which almost cracked my tooth). Will most likely not return for a long while.

Superb meal and ambiance ... had a pre theatre meal this evening.. amazing service from Florian our waiter who was not in our face but pleasantly attentive and cared for our every need. Wine was amazing. Starters.. hard to decide but fantastic calamari.. or the goats cheese salad with beetroot... mains.. we had delicious rump steak cooked blue and rare to perfection with an amazing peppercorn sauce.. burger was huge...boeuf bourguignon was melt in the mouth..and the vegetarian cheese balls is not only for the vegetarians... the complimentary French bread with the most exquisite butter is highly addictive. Desserts..wow. sticky toffee😘frangipane😘😘creme brulee😚😚😚topped off with a fragrant espresso... highly recommended. Decor is fab. Music in the background is perfect. Lighting creates the perfect anbiance... and an open plan kitchen where the chefs are well under control . Very impressed. Look forward to our next visit. Have my eye on the moules mariniere🙂Salvatore the general manager was very attentive and has his team running very well
