Bistro 44 - Restaurant in Noorder-Paarl, South Africa
Super breakfast; welcoming, friendly staff. MOST unfortunately, it is closing down today
Very friendly owner. Excellent coffee. Took home the most tastiest home baked rusks. Will definitely pop in again.
Don’t judge a book by its cover! Delicious farm style comfort food, generous portions and great value for money. Warm and friendly service. We’ll definitely be back.
Brilliant food. Best homemade pies and 10 star service and hospitality
We had a lovely visit for breakfast at Bistro 44 while on our Sunday roadtrip. Breakfast was delicious!
Traditional brekkie. Very fair price, nice view. Recommended!
Loved it, their scones are yummy 😘
Bistro 44 provides a country experience, as they use homemade farm bread and the portions are huge. I can vouch for the following: chicken mayo, chicken mayo jaffle, scones and their pies are delicious. The farm stall also offers jams, honey, a biscuit selection, olives and honey.
We were throughly impressed. This place has great views and exquisite food. The attention to detail was amazing and the fresh farm style bread was top class. With such friendly staff and get value for your buck we would highly recommend going there for your next meal and we will gladly be returning there shortly for more.
Such a great stop. Staff are professional and service is efficient. There are quite a few tables so even if it looks busy from the outside theres still a good chance youll get a seat. Food quality is also 5/5
From the outside it looks like you want to move on.Don’t.The menu is unbelievable for a farm stall and the food is fantastic.Arrive early on a holiday morning .Could order anything from the menu.
Very friendly staff. Nice coffee
This has become a favourite place of ours to eat when we out that way with great food and our favourite waitress serving us ...Lovely outside patio area and you can buy all types of spices, homemade biscuits , bottled peaches etc etc in the farm deli shop
The food & portions here are amazing with super friendly staff.
Really liked it, food and service. The only downfall was the tall grass in the play area which made it impossible for our kids to play.
My wife and I regularly visit this bistro whenever we drive by to buy some pies or bread. They also sell lots of other items that we never tried before. These two items are very tasty and value for money. Well done Bistro 44 - We will be back for more..!!
This is the cutest and high quality cafe I have ever seen. They sell a large variety of foods including a heath Afrikaans breakfast. Their prices is also noteworthy.
Sausage roll was the worst Ive had in a while, coffee also terrible. Disappointing
Bistro 44 is conveniently situated next to the R44 just outside Wellington. My 4th visit and not dissapointed. We had jaffles and chips for lunch... very rustig. They have huge tasty pies, a variety of sauces and jams for sale as well. Always a pleasant stop over.
Best bobotie ever. Really enjoyed it. Nice fire place, cozy and very friendly staff. And clearly the manager knows how to cook. It will be our new go to place.
Laid back place with nice atmosphere. Food and service good, but pricy.
Unfortunately the worst breakfast I have ever had. Cape Town prices for food of this standard is terrible 😑.
Freshly baked pies and home made food. This is a great pit stop for a quick snack or for a delicious lunch. Worth the while to support.
Made a random stop on the way home from a wedding. Grabbed a pie the size of Texas to share and it was amazing.
Very long wait to be served. Main dining room is quite dirty. Coffee machine needs a serious clean. Pastries and baked good were constantly being touched directly by hand by staff.
The lady at the shop is super friendly and I really wanted to buy the fresh farm butter, will have to return for it on a colder day. She did mention the wet newspaper method, but I was going to have a long day and it wouldve eventually melted.
We arrived at 8am on Sunday and the staff were absolutely friendly and ready to assist us. The food and views were amazing.
Lovely spot, good food, well priced, friendly staff.
Awesome home cooked meals by the owner who takes pride in what he does. Friendly people.
Awesome place, awesome food... The place has got a lot of potential! Apon walking in I overhead the staff talking to each other and swearing Really LOUD like its completely normal... Was very put off by this so I just got my food and left. The staff seems to give the place a very depressing vibe... But beside all of this! Good fresh food!
Tasty coffee and pies. Friendly owners and a play area for kids
Restaurant meets farm stall. Great service. Tasty food (proper real wors). Biker friendly with specials for bikers on Saturdays. Family friendly - theres a nice jungle gym.Wheelchair friendly although the ramp seems a bit steep.Great views of youre sitting outside.
Ive always driven past this little place but, today I was so pleased that we stopped. Such delicious food! Perfect padstal atmosphere, they were super friendly to my little dog that I brought along. Do yourself a favour and stop here next time, delicious farm bread and chilli jam on sale. I Highly recommend the springbok pot ;)
Rustic dining on Route 44 between Stellenbosch and WellingtonDont be fooled by looks, the food is very good and you cant complain about the service. The owner is normally on site, a jolly fellow who is always eager to enter into conversation about the surroundings. There are local arts and craft, and products on sale. The pies and bread on sale is baked on site are suburb. Do yourself a favour, sit and relax, have a cup of coffee and watch the world go buy😊
What a lovely surprise. Food was really, really good. Great vibe. Definitely stopping again!
Ok for a quick pitstop, but dont expect too much. With the continued drought in CT, the view is not as beautiful as before.
Lekker scones jam n cheese with a good cuppa tea. Lovely homemade pies.
Menu looks great (we just had coffee though). Reasonable prices. Wonderful view. Friendly owner.
Value for money meals. Convenient. Didnt wait long and the staff are friendly. Worth visiting 👍🏼
Found this spot while driving to Wellington. Great service. Reasonable food prices and good food. Nice variety of local produce availabe for purchase. Loved the decor and cosy atmosphere.
Lovely friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere and fabulous food. So glad we stopped here.
Good value for money. The food is wholesome and plentiful. Martyn and his staff will make you feel at home. Lots of home made delicacies to take home as well. The home made chicken pies are legendary. A worthwhile stop to make on the R44. Enjoy!
Great food, centrally located between Wellington and Durbanville. Good selection of gifts and products. Decor needs updating.
First time visitor, will be back. Walked in to smiling faces, a warm welcome and service was good. Prices very reasonable. Good coffee. I had the eisbein and my wife the 800g ribs, which we finished off for dinner Monday night with a salad. Decor is a bit worn and weathered, but adds character. The only reason I deducted a star was because the eisbein sauce was very salty.
A good place to have a cold drink and a nice meal with a beautiful view. And good service!
Great location if youre in the Agter Paarl area. Have visited infrequently over the last few years. Seems to have gone through a few different owners or managers. Service and food on average has been average, sometimes good. They also sell deli goods and gifts. Great views and a dependable spot for coffee and a light meal.
Cappuccino was good - burger was ok chips with the burger need some improvement. Service is exceptional.
A real find! Excellent food and service plus lots of gifts, jams and crafts. Recommend the lamp curry pie
A good place for that quick burger stop. Sceptical of its Coca-Cola sponsored signs thinking it will be a bit of a dive, this place surprised us with pleasant food. The burgers are especially tasty with proper patties. Lots of sauce, spices and farmstall type products on sale as well. Pricing of some menu items seemed a bit strange. Pricing very close to pushing the restaurant into a upper and therefore tougher critiquing bracket. Fun little playground for kids.
Friendly service. Scrumptious food. Good prices. Beautiful view.
