Went there with my wife and son , both food critics in their own right. We had 2 sides, Procuitto and nuts, and the Burrata. For entrees I had the Bistro Burger, my wife the pork chop an my son had the Cacio. Everything was absolutely wonderful, fresh tasty, so good!My wife and son usually finds fault with something on the menu but they discovered our meal to be next to perfect. My own amateur critic tendencies found the brocollini to be undercooked but that pork chop was one of the best I ever had. (she shared).I totally recommend this restaurant to anyone who understands and enjoys fine food.

Wanted a local experience for our first evening on vacation - saw the high rating and decided to give this place a shot. Was not disappointed. The food was great and fresh, and the service was prompt and friendly. Enjoyed excellent food without having to dress up - win/win!

For what we paid I expected more. I know prices are going up, but the food looked and tasted like a Betty Crocker recipe made by an adequately competent home cook. Ive been to restaurants all over the world that I have to go back to when Im in that area. If/when I come back to Portland Ill be looking for another restaurant to fill that niche. It was a solid meh at $15 a plate. I had the bolonese and the burrata.

Bistro 23 makes little sense to a local when thinking about its location but it makes all the sense in the world to someone who flew to Portland who is looking for quality food near the airport, or near their airport hotel, or on the way to the airport. Thankfully this local lives nearby and the food here has been great on every trip. The burrata, the pizzas, the potatoes, the drink menu, etc. The food is shockingly good, the staff incredibly friendly, and the indoor and outdoor seating spaces are ample and comfortable. It’s a bonus to sit on the patio and watch planes land. If this restaurant was closer in to the city it would probably do amazing but I’m also very content to have it stay right where it is just a few minutes from my house. Think of it as a well kept secret and then come try it and tell all of your friends.

Thank goodness this restaurant survived COVID. (Except for the fabulous ribs.Very close to the airport and right next door to a truck rental place, this is a restaurant for for foodies. Great pizza and sandwiches. A few very good entrees like the brick chicken and pork chop. The cacio de pepe is sooooo good. And the staff? Proud of their food and friendly. I eat here whenever I visit Portland. I have yet to have anything lower than good, mostly much better than good. Extra bonus for being a great spot for travelers to dine alone. A consistently outstanding restaurant!

To say the food was amazing would be doing it an injustice. The experience started when we got our food to go and the intoxicating aroma filled our vehicle. My wife placed her whole head in the bag and inhaled because she could not resist wanting to be fully enveloped in the smells. Now most to go food can look a little displeasing as its not how its meant to be displayed but it was not the case here. My chicken parm sandwich was massive, and beautiful. My wifes chicken was a piece of art. I could wait no longer. It was love at first bite. I barely stopped to breathe not wanting to have a moment without the flavors in my mouth any longer than I had to. Upon finishing my meal I sat covered in marinara and cheese breathing heavily, as I had just went on a flavor journey. My taste buds and I had gone to another plane of existence. I savored the last bits of flavor as I realized it was all gone. Sadly this moment in time had to come to an end. This was an experience that I shall cherish for years to come. My children will know of this place and I will never stop ensuring everyone I can find ventures to this holy grail of food.

I met my husband and daughter for lunch because they work in the area. We were looking for a sit down place and this place was recommended. You walk in and order - then find a seat - it was crowded & loud but it was also Friday at noon. Limited drink options but a number of different types to choose from. We ordered food and sat down. Food arrived after a wait (again not surprising because it was busy). My choice - chicken Parmesan sandwich with chips was proportionate - I loved the red sauce. My husband pick the “Ham & Avo” sandwich with chips (I didn’t try because I’m not a fan of avocado& my daughter got the brick chicken. Presentation was spot on and I was dying to get a bite of those potatoes but when I did - I was disappointed as they were cold. The chicken it self - which was piping hot - had great flavor. Overall it’s a very chic place in an area you wouldn’t expect. Give it a try

Fantastic little farm to table cafe. Our family got Green Pies, the Beet Salad and the Ham and Avo sandwich with a side of the Split Pea Soup. Food was fresh and appropriately hot and tasty. Wait after ordering at the counter and being seated was about 10 mins (we were there at 2pm). Price point is good for quality of food. If we are back in Portland anytime we’d definitely come back to explore the menu further!

I went to this spot because a close friend recommended it. Did not disappoint! The pizza was bomb, the chicken Parmesan sandwich was the best I ever had. The building was nice, and had a warm, calm vibe. ImGood service, great food. I wish I could have tried more of the menu, but it was a one time stop while visiting Oregon. I’ll definitely be back!

Honestly I was expecting a boneless pork chop and wasnt disappointed whatsoever. The sweet glaze on the pork literally made my mouth water like this Portland rain. The brussel sprouts were seared PERFECTLY and paired very well with the pork. I also ordered a side of potatoes expecting some red potatoes baked in an oven but I got this delicious baked potato that was mashed then seared on a flattop and its honestly my favorite way to eat a potato now. The Margherita pizza was fresh and crispy exactly how I like it. I couldve had a little more mozzarella but thats the only complaint. Im from Orange County CA and this food is really up to par with places in Southern California, New York & San Francisco. My compliments to the chef and staff at Bistro 23.

I was looking for a quality eatery near the airport and found one! I was impressed immediately when I walked in. Very clean and you have options to sit inside with multiple dining rooms, out front or on the patio.I had a special request today, eating only meats. Angelo was more than happy to accommodate my needs. The staff there were great and I was impressed with the over experience. So I enjoyed the Pork chop, the Brick Chicken as well as the grass fed Bistro Burger. Everything was cooked to perfection today. The burger was medium rare, the chicken was seasoned nicely and the pork was phenomenal. I liked everything but give the nod to the pork chop as my favorite.I highly recommend this place. Come out and support your local businesses!

If youre staying at or near the Portland Airport and are looking for a fine meal thats not a chain restaurant this is your place.! I travel for business and enjoy good food when I find it, especially when it is at a reasonable price. Bistro 23 doesnt disappoint. Ive been here a few times and the pork chop is excellent definitely a "come-back-again item" that should be on your not to miss list. Ive also enjoyed their Cubano at lunch..definitely a favorite as well. Overall Id say this place is "Simple Done Really Well"... not overly fancy inside, open kitchen that you can see whats what, you order upfront and they bring you the meal. It has a cozy local feel and as Ive mentioned...good food. They have a staple bar with all the basics covered and about 8 beers on draft. Its easy to get to and plenty of parking. If you find yourself in the area put this on the list of places to try.

I was in Portland for training and I came to eat at bistro 23 with coworkers and I give Bistro 23 two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻. Their sandwiches are BOMB A/F, A bit pricey but I think they’re well worth it I had the meatball banh mi, I think the pickled veggies made that sandwich taste soooo good. I’ll be back in mid February for more training and I will definitely go back.

Bistro 23 is indeed one of the nicer cafes in this area, and we do enjoy their food, but it is starting to feel a bit pretentious.Pros:-The food is usually delicious and interesting.-The food is typically locally sourced and organic or ethical meat when possible-The menu rotates seasonally-It has a full bar and a 21+ only area with a cozy fireplace and booths, as well as a more kid friendly side of the other half of the restaurant-It looks very nice and welcoming, with a more trendy look inside than the industrial/airport around it should warrant.-They do have an outside area, although its right under the airport path so the passing planes are VERY loud out thereCons:-It is expensive. I paid $15 for a small plate of pasta with no sides. Alcoholic drinks were $10 each which is crazy considering you can get a well drink for $2.50 at local bars in the area.-No kids menu although they do serve enough sides I can usually find things for the kids to eat. This feels more catered to business travelers, which is fine, just be aware.-No real salad dressing options. They have 3 vinaigrettes they make in house, and dont offer anything else. No blue cheese, no ranch, etc. Not great for those who like side salads.-Their $10+ sandwiches just come with a bag of stale chips as a side, no French fries or salad. All in all, if you want a more upper class feel to your airport layover lunch, this is probably a good choice. If you want tasty drinks and food and dont mind paying more, check it out. If you have kids or want reasonable drinks with friends during happy hour, there are other restaurants and bars down airport way that will work.

This place has delicious food. I ordered the bolognese, it was flavorful with perfectly al dente! The price was perfect for the quality and amount of food.My friend ordered a pizza and she found it delicious. She likes eating classic American food. This place satisfied my need for a semi-foodie experience and her need for simple and familiar food.Another star was given cause this is the only worth while place near the airport hotels. I’m not a chained food restaurant fan so finding this place was finding a gem!The atmosphere is welcoming; it’s modern and clean additionally the staff is pleasant and friendly.

Prok chop was to die for. I asked the waiter prior to ordering if it was any good and he shared a story with me of a gentleman who was 70 years old and told him it was probably the best pork chop hes ever had. On that recommendation I ordered it, and boy was he right. It was prepared perfect. The glaze added a great flavor to it that Ive never had before.I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to eat dinner here.

Pig in the woods pizza was super tasty. Crust was perfect amount of crunch and a slight chewy, well seasoned and an overall perfection of ham, arugula and goat cheese. Tomato basil soup was also rockin! My only nit is they were out of the porter so I drank water. Great environment, music, lighting, laid back and super fresh

I had a seamingly simple grilled cheese with tomato basil soup. However, it was anything but simple. The sandwich was ooey gooey, cheesy, greatness hugged by buttery, perfectly toasted, bread! And the soup was so comforting and not overly acidic, which you find in most tomato soup. It was creamy with hints of basil and parmesan. Absolutely delicious.
