Bishops Grill - Breakfast restaurant in Saint George, United States
Honestly, food was pretty subpar and expensive for what it was. Staff was swearing and didnt acknowledge us for awhile.
You know what youre getting with this place, fast service and food that is priced well. Good service and you can always get a few cups before you leave.
Loved there Breakfasts. Well priced.
best place to get breakfast in st george. friendly atmosphere and great crew!
Small, clean restraint with good food at a great price! I ordered the loaded hash browns and added an over easy egg on top and it was great! Portion sizes are great and I took home about 1/3 of my food. The sweet roll is a large cinnamon roll as big as your plate and it was amazing!
Didnt get a chance to try!! Sat at a table I was seated at with menu for a while, and never even got acknowledged or given water!! Literally, 3 tables had people. The least the waitress could do is acknowledge me with a glass of water and she walked right by me 3 times, cleaning 2 tables. Never going back with the lack of service.
We waited over an hour for our meal, it was then cold, service was poor the o e woman was loud and rude! Our waitress was to busy look at her phone to take care of us
Great service, delicious food, fair prices, clean restaurant, all around awesome find!
As always fast friendly service, great selection of home style menu items. Always a great experience.
They expanded their dining area which was much needed. The food continues to be very good. I would have rated them five stars were it not for the annoying sound system. The speakers are very cheap. The tinny, too loud music from a heavy rock station detracted from what otherwise would have been a nice breakfast experience.
My fiancé and I ate breakfast here during our vacation in Utah coming from California. The food was super good and our waitress was friendly and easygoing. Will be back again, Highly recommend
We loved this restaurant, great food, the portions were plentiful and tasty. Good coffee and the syrups were yummy, a great assortment of berry flavors! Daves Big Breakfast was a favorite, the staff was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this place
The food was pretty good, not incredible - except for the cinnamon roll. They are ginormous and so cheap!! We feasted on this roll for two days. Ill stop in every time Im visiting from out of town, just to get one of these. The service was really good, the waitresses were really nice.
Excellent breakfast food and friendly, prompt service. Great value.
The waitress was good but waited about nearly two hours for food and on top of that payed for an extra hot chocolate even tho waitress said any drinks for waiting for waiting so long. Thought this place was great but not so good since the last time I’ve been here and don’t get me started on the food not being fresh and came out cold.
Took our little guy here for breakfast for his birthday. They made him feel special. The staff was great. Our server was on it. Great veggie omelette.
Great food, and Service. It would be great if they had updated menus to look at on a Website.
Delicious, well priced breakfast! Absolutely fantastic Cinnamon Roll (Sweet Roll on menu). As big as a dinner plate. Havent had one that good in ages!!! Wonderful made in house apricot/raspberry/orange jam!!! Great and the friendly staff.
No wait and good service. They were understaffed when we went there so we had to remind them on a couple of our orders. Food was good and fresh. Would suggest trying the cinnamon roll, easily feeds 5+ people.
The food quality was what you would expect at any mediocre diner. Could have been much better if it was fully cooked and served hot. Wait staff seemed to be overwhelmed, probably short staffed.
The hash browns were stale but the steak omelette I got was really good, the sever was very nice and I loved her nails.
Food and service was great! The cinnamon roll and scone was fantastic. Large portions at a good price.
Very good and the service were amazing! My wife substituted a scone for the toast, and was shocked when they brought a huge scone to the table! We thought we’d be asking for a box to bring the leftovers home, but it was incredible, with the sides of custard to dip it in. No leftovers to be found. Highly recommend!
Excellent food, great prices with big portions. The service is great and really nice people.. Never had a bad meal..
Read the menus carefully! Youre going to get more than you can handle. Food is excellent service is superb. Enjoy!
Serviceable breakfast here. Very friendly staff and very prompt service. I just wish the food wasnt so bland. I guess they cater to seniors. Too bad. The portions were good and it looked great. Got biscuits with gravy and the biscuits looked to be from a poppin fresh container. The gravy barely had any flavor and seemed to be a mix. Hashbrowns were fantastic and the eggs cooked perfectly. Probably not the best restaurant for my taste. DANG!!!
I love Bishops food, service and atmosphere its like coming home. Everyone is so welcoming and nice Have a Homemade scone and some honey butter or a hamburger steak with fried onions and mushrooms! OMG!!! THE FOOD IS GREAT! Best omelets ever and I dont eat eggs ok so Bishops Most definitely!!!
Service and food both excellent. Portions were good sized and prices reasonable. Dining area quite clean. Will definitely return.
This place has terrible customer service, which seems to be a trend in reviews lately, the food quality is basically what you pay for... cheap, and the wait times are a complete joke (unless they know you and your a regular customer, or your old, sorry but its truethey were skipping us for obvious regulars and most were old people, sure Ill let a senior citizen go begot me or wait longer for a better seat so they can take it, I can respect that to a point, but this was not that... this was just rude and we were being treated like an inconvenience. Finally after almost 30 minutes we were seated, but never helped and ended up walking out. Wont be back
We absolutely love their scones. Best prices around town. Some advice - STEAR clear on Holidays / weekends. If youre lucky enough to go on a weekday, youre golden and youll have a fabulous experience.
Good food, good pricing. Got the bishops combo with 2 pancakes, eggs, and ham. It tasted good and was satisfied with the price $8.49
Went here to eat a late breakfast with friends and ordered an egg sandwich with over easy eggs and ham. Food tasted great until about an hour later I started to feel weak and a little sick while shopping. I chose not to eat anymore (wasnt hungry anywayand decided to try and sleep this odd feeling away. I woke up about 2 and a half hours later feeling worse, went to the bathroom, and had a watery bowel movement. We were on our way to Vegas at about 8pm and hit a gas station to fill up before heading out. At this point I felt nauseous and puked behind the gas station. Normally I have an iron stomach, so something really threw my body for a loop from this restaurant. I have no food sensitivities or allergies. Would not recommend eating the eggs here.
Love this place. Tried to do a order by phone but it was busy for 30 min. Tried to order through a delivery app but it wasn’t available. Please work on this so we can get your yummy food whenever and how ever we can. Again awesome food
Hubby and I stopped here for breakfast on way out of town, was really good! Corned beef hash was delicious and country omelette. Hash browns also very good and a huge pancake I could not finish 🤣 I would totally recommend and if we ever come back to Utah in this area we will be back! Thank you Bishops!
Ive always loved the food, it really is a good place to eat. Two stars because the owner actually rolled her eyes at me.Long story as short as possible, I put in an order via Grubhub for some breakfast for me and my work crew. It had been over the time frame, and I noticed the order was refunded, with no real reason. We tried calling the location multiple times, to no avail, to simply ask if we could stop by and pick up the food, pay in person and go about our morning.I finally arrive, step inside and wait in line. At this point in time, all I see is the usual hustle and bustle of a restaurant, someone paying and one person ahead of me. They pay, the next in line approaches the register and for around 4min, there is an argument about a coffee, an online ordering system, and cold food. No one is being rude to any extent, but the din had gone on long enough, and the cashier simply looks at me, disregards the man ahead of me, speaks over him and asks what she can do for me.I approach slowly, and am hesitant to ask about MY online order. I ask....., the man looks up at me, and the cashier loses all expression on her face, tries to hide an eye roll and immediately explains to me how there is no online ordering system and its not her fault if my order was canceled. The man asks my name, obviously matching the order I put in, and explains the real situation. Im over it at this point. I explain that if the food is avaliable, Ill pay for whatever the costs are, the coffee in question and whatever dilemma this may have caused. The cashier apologizes with an unsympathetic tone that the food could be cold, and I walk out, followed by the man.He apologized for the wait time and introduced himself as my driver. Explained the entirety of the situation hed been dealing with for literal hours, and how the cashier was the owner. I was impressed with his devotion to the cause, the time he spent and his willingness to continue his job despite everything. In his line of work, apparently Bishops is one of the worst places to deliver from, solely because of the way the owner treats every driver, and either doesnt understand or believe in online orders at all.Short and sweet, I felt berated by the owner.
Ive been going to the Bishops in Washington, so tried this branch. Everything was good, except the loaded hash browns, which tasted raw and definitely looked uncooked. My server was very good to return with another plate, but these were only slightly more browned, with a hard crust of potatoes and cheese that I could not cut through with a knife. The rest was slightly warm, but not hot or cooked. I dont think any oil or butter was used on the grill if it was grilled. It looked like a little cooking flame was used and then plopped on a plate. Anyway, as much as I have enjoyed Bishops in the past, this experience put a bad taste in my mouth. I have recently ordered hash browns at Black Bear and they were awesome. Bishops, I think you have been replaced. Sorry.
Always amazing food. The sticky roll is huge.
The service was great especially since we had a group of 15. We got our food in good order and it was hot and fresh. They were out of English muffins so they substituted bread and was not very good. They would have been better going to the grocery store next door to get muffins.
Didn’t even get the chance to eat here. This review is based all on customer service. We went and the waited to be seated for 40 minutes and then sat at our table for 20 minutes and no one helped us. We even flagged down a waitress and she wouldn’t help us either. Another table who was seated before us hadn’t been helped at all either. Ended up just getting up and leaving.
We decided to get some lunch as a family today and chose Bishops. We got there around 2:30, post lunch rush so the crowds wouldnt be too bad. When I walked in with my daughter and sister, there were THREE workers up front (including the managerand they didnt say a word to us. The host didnt ask how many we had, just grabbed a couple of menus, and I had to politely let him know we had a total of six, at which he got annoyed. The manager then said to "just throw them in the round table at the back". We tried to be very friendly with the host while he led us to the table, but he was very irritable and didnt acknowledge us except to ask if my daughter needed a high chair. Luckily, our server was very friendly! We waited a very long time for our food. During the wait, a water cup was spilled. My brother in law went to ask for some help cleaning up. The manager didnt acknowledge him, just yelled at a server to grab something for us to clean the spill. We were given a small stack of napkins. Two tables who were seated after us got their food before us and left by the time we got our order. We were there for 2 hours. Overall, terrible experience redeemed ONLY by our waitress. I believe her name was Jess? Jenny? She was great!
Decided to enjoy a breakfast at Bishops by myself this morning. I normally get their burrito with avocado, but I wanted to try something new. Ms Teresa recommended the Western Omelette, so I got it, and boy was it delicious! If you like Tabasco sauce, I personally prefer the green to the red, but both were tasty! I went with rye bread, and it pairs really well with the dish. Excellent, friendly service, of course. Three different people asked if they could refill my drink for me. Im telling you: Bishops on Sunset (not Telegraphis a great American diner!
One of these times I might actually order lunch, but their breakfast is so good! Best sausage and biscuits you can get in St. George. Great food, great staff, friendly atmosphere. Would recommend
Stopped in for lunch today. Server said they hand bread their chicken fried steak. Ordered it. Came out fast. Knew something was wrong then. Because it takes at least 8 minutes to bread and fry. Sure enough it was burnt on the outside and bloody on inside. Not sure why restaurants in the area cannot make a good chicken steak. Maybe its a Texas thing...lol. Anyway server came by and asked how it was. Told her terrible. Showed her it was burnt on the outside and bloody on inside. She said oh Im sorry and walked off, no offer to replace or offer something else. Needless to say probably wont come back.
Never had a worse dining experience than this!Ive been coming to Bishops since high school. We always come here after many events and family functions. But today was just a joke from the start. We had a large party of 10 and waited 30 min for a table, no biggie. Once we were seated the fun began. Our server brought us drinks and took our orders. After 30 min we started to wonder where our food is. We have family and friends that are servers and we understand when things are busy or understaffed. It happens. But our drinks were never refilled, we had to find our server just to fill drinks. Then customers that arrived AFTER we did got their food before us. Small table of 4, maybe just a coincidence. Nope two other small tables got their food and ate before we did and left. 45 min later and still no food server cant be found and no communication on what is going on. We found a manager and asked politely whats going on, we have 3 kids that are hungry and cant sit still. She said the kitchen was busy and walked away. Gee thanks, we already know that. An HOUR goes by and still no food. Its a small place that never takes this long ever. Find the manager again, she goes and checks on our food. Said it will be 15 more min. So finally after 15 or more min our food comes out. Food was good by the way. One of our friends food was cold and she had a hair in it. We brought it to the attention to the manager when we went to pay. Said she didnt see it and couldnt verify that. Cool. Refused to comp any meals saying she cant control how busy the kitchen was. We waited an hour and 15 min for food and they refused to even give us a discount. Sadly we wont be returning to Bishops after this bad experience. Been a customer for 15 years and this is how it ends.
I stopped by while I was in town and ordered a large order to go. The staff was extremely nice and our orders came out quickly. Everything we ordered was great, but the fries stood out as one of the biggest surprised. The battered fries they have are fantastic.
We really enjoy hitting up bishops on saturdats. We stop by about once a mobth and most of the time the dont dissapoint. I love the egg borrito
I bring my kids here as often as possible. It seems to be our go-to favorite. Reasonably priced, great food and large portions. Even on busy days the service is always quick and great. Especially that cute little server with the short, fun punk style hair. She is always sweet and outstanding. Never get rid of her. We will continue to eat here every chance we get!
Food was decent, however the service was very bad. The staff seemed to be having a meltdown because it was busy. There were 2 specific glaring issues that will cause me to never go back to Bishops and I would not recommend this restaurant.Myself and my family were seated at the bar top. One of the staff, whom had pink hair, walked over and set her vaping device on the counter in front of me and near my food. She then picked it up and changed the batteries in the area where we were eating. I was even able to take a photo of the vape device on the counter.I brought the issue to the attention of one of the other staff members. She was upset and immediately apologized for the actions of her co-worker. She even walked over and said something to her about leaving the vape device, which was appreciated. However, the employee who left the device simply shrugged her shoulder in a gesture that I interpreted to mean "So what". The employee then gave me a glaringly dirty look and walked away.A minute after this, my brother found a long hair in his pancakes. He asked to have them replaced, which they did. But, it took so long getting them replaced and they were left sitting in the window waiting to get served. We ended up just walking out and leaving the pancakes.I was thoroughly disgusted by the lack of hygiene and unprofessional-ism displayed by the staff members and I have included the photo I took.
Food was so good! If youre there you have to try their cinnamon roll, it was delicious and just about the size of my head.
Ive always loved Bishops. Their serving sizes are generous and the biggest thing is their prices are FAIR for the amount of food you get as opposed to a franchise like Applebees or Dennys. This is the best breakfast place in town and place to bring a family for a Saturday breakfast. One of my favorites in town.
