Park featuring numerous hiking trails is home to deer, red-tailed hawks & turkey vultures.
Beautiful views of Mt. Diablo. The trail up from the street is quite steep. Bring hiking poles. Dont hike after rain or snow as it gets very muddy (I experienced this a few years ago unfortunately).
Awesome park whit lots of hills! You need to be careful! And bring hiking shoes π π π
This was an amazing hike!! It felt as if I were in The Lord of The Rings or The Hobbit, exploring the Shire. On the creek trail, there was a fallen log that reminded me of where Frodo hid from the Nine.To make this ranch even better - you can unleash your dogs (but you have to re-leash them if cows are nearby - for the safety of everyone).Fair warning - there are some very steep trails. At some points, it feels like climbing straight uphill. There are also a fair amount of cow patties.
I took my dog here who is only 4 lb and was excited to see the incline right away theres also a side trail you could take this a little bit more of a scenic route unless strenuous. Beautiful natural reserve for a hike. Needless to say I had to carry my dog most of the way but he doesnt mind that. πΆπ
Residents around San Ramon in San Fransisco can take this Stream-Trail and/or Fox-Trail in weakends for fun. Known as Bishop Ranch Regional Preserve, it is not too hard. A trek of 2.5 Kilometres (1.55 mileswith family n kids in less than 90 minutes, really tests your preparations in professional and amature trekking efforts. In all a 177 meters in elevation, it left us breathless at one point !Just roadside parking. No washrooms or refreshment available here. We didnt see animals or birds despite rich greenery, water in stream and hillocks full of green grass. But we still enjoyed the activity.
Great views and a nice hike but no parking lot. I brought a couple of little kids not sure its a great hike for them though, too much up.
OMG...Beautiful once you get passed the small hill! Sooo worth it.
Great place to hike. Check out the view from the top of the Mountain β° also dog friendly for off leash walking
Very beautiful hike. Mostly covered with trees but better to get hats and water on sunny days. Thereβs slight elevation but kid and dog friendly hike trail.
What a lovely open reserve! Extremely tranquil and green these days.Grey Fox trail has a steep slope when you enter the ranch. It doesnt feel that way when you look at the map. So, was quite a shock for an occasional hiker like me.Street parking is near the entrance and there was no rush at all. I liked that the place isnt commercial like other hiking trails. Dont forget to use the boot scraper at the entrance on your way back.
Easy outing with kids if they can handle some short, "steep" sections. Easy to get to with views of the rolling hills surrounding and Mt. Diablo in the distance.
Awesome 1 hour ish loop with steep grades if you want them or subtle grades in shaded areas for an easier walk.
Great walk. Steep hill but a good workout and reward with vistas at the top.
Street parking. Nice off leash place, hike is steep. Pick the right time, may be too hot for my dog.
What a great hikeThe view from the top of the hill was awesomeAnd watching the cows come home was entertaining
Moderate level hiking spot within neighborhood. Spectacular views! Expect high elevation as you enter the place.
Beautiful well travelled trail with spectacular views of the valley and hills. Many wild flowers and a decent number of hikers.
Wonderful trail loop, muddy and slippery yet fun and invigorating.
Super awesome place to hike with friends and family. The hike gets very steep, so be prepared to get good elevation pretty soon in the hike. The view from top is mesmerizing so all the hard work in climbing up gets rewarded by the scinic views. Since this was a steep hike it was not very crowded. There is not any staging area for this hike, we end up street parking which all of the other hikers has also done, so all good there. We hiked around first week of February so it was very green due to the rains in previous month. It could also be a great place for day piknik on top of the mountain.
Nice trail, went with little ones and they really enjoyed the hiking.
Good outdoor hiking, short or long. Dirt trails so it can get muddy after it rains. I hope these trails will stay with open space of nature and the nice quiet scenery, one of the few hidden San Ramon natural trails
Its a pretty view but a steep hike on gravel to get to the top. Lucky for us a nice family helped us get back down the hill with our stroller!! This place is not stroller friendly, be careful with little ones!
A beautiful trail in the city, like a natural fitness center, our family come here very often for a nice one hour hike. The trail starts with a steep climb at beginning, turning right along a stream, it goes to a nice shade path leading to the submit of the trail where it comes a beautiful view of the city, followed by a relax downhill walk to complete the loop. Sometimes you might see cows on path, an unique view added to your hiking experience.
this place is a beautiful spot to hike. Its really windy and theres this nice memorial at the top (even though people have vandalized it). it has some really steep hills so count on your bun buns and your calves being a bit sore if you dont do this often. There is a park at the bottom for the kiddos and I even believe a tennis court.
GORGEOUS views of bright green rolling hills. Went on a great hike with the family in spring. Not the best hike for the very little ones, as there are very steep hills. A part of the park has nice wide open trails, another runs by the creek and is more narrow. If you decide to hike by the creek: wear pants in case you brush up against any poison ivy. Theres also a seasonal creek crossing which can be a bit slippery.
Beautiful hiking trails. It makes you feel like youre a long ways away from the city..
Very nice trail, with an awesome view
A very lengthy incline at first that will take most of your energy but great views of neighboring cities or perfect picnic spot.
Fun hike. Be prepared for mud if it has rained recently. Also be prepared for steep hills. If you are looking for flatter, easier hikes, this is probably not for you. Its not hard but not a leisurely stroll either.
Its a great trail much green and due to shade the trail is much comfortable to do
First part of the hike is a lung and leg burner! Starts off super steep. From there though great views and the trail navigates the ridge of the hills.
Fun place to hike. You can hike for 45 minutes, or for hours; hike up the hills on sunny trails, or criss-cross the stream while hiking in the shade. Theres lots of wildlife here too.
If you can make it up the first steep hill wonderful views of Mt. Diablo. The stream trail is tranquil. No services. Bring your own water.
Beautiful, not crowded, and just a few minutes away from the San Ramon hotels. Please note, park entrance is at the bottom of Morgan Rd (see mapnot at the top as Google Maps currently has it.
There are two main starting trails, one through the creekside, and one at a very steep incline. Beautiful views at the end of both, but the incline can often be dreadfully muddy. Be careful not to spook the cows and youll be fine.
Beautiful area out looking the valley. Hill was slippery. Please keep an eye out for signs
Really liked this park for hiking walks with my kid. Not huge, but big enough to spend several good hours walking around
An easy quiet trail with good views of the valley and Mountain Diablo.
Good place to get in a quick hike or bike ride. Starting at the bottom of Grey Wolf should challenge all but the most physically fit!
If you like to hike this is a great place. multiple trails with small trail markets keep you on track. Theres no water or facilities here. Make sure to observe the trail markers going in so you dont get lost.
First time I hiked to the top. Make sure you take the creek trail. Its scenic and shady. But watch out for ticks!
It a cool spot for a quick hike/ride but be prepared for lots of steep hills. Not much single track for mtn bikes and lots of poison oak on the creek trail.
Great place to hike and explore. Trails are fairly easy and scenic. Theres ample parking at the trailhead and the trails are well marked with maps available.
Easy and simple hike. Since its summer, its covered with hay. Locals told that post rainy season, it will be covered with lush green. Good for morning hikers.
Its pretty exposed and pretty hot in the summer but not a bad place for a morning or evening walk. The first slope is a kicker but the views are a nice reward.
Trails are not well marked, and there is a large, closed but unlocked, gate at the entrance with no signage to indicate whether or not you are allowed to enter. Nice shaded walks though, not Airweays easy to pass through, but enjoyable nonetheless.
This is an amazing place tucked behind San Ramon Valley Boulevard. Not much parking space on the road but it is not very crowded on weekdays. The climb is very steep on the grey fox trail but quickly leads to beautiful vistas and grand trees. The river view trail is very different and leads to groves of trees that thrive along the tiny river. The rains this year (2016-2017have resulted in a trickling if not streaming river. The two trails merge and this is a great place for a vigorous workout in grand surroundings.
Perfect spot for a short, hilly hike. Everythings green and if you can get up the hill, you get tremendous views of the valley. We even heard turkeys gobbling :)Returned on April 30th for a lovely late afternoon hike. This time with a dog! You can have dogs offleash here, which is a pleasure for human and canine. We tromped from end-to-end this time and cut back through the middle to climb down to the creek for our return loop.
Climb up the ridge and you are compensated with a beautiful view of lower San Ramon.
I gave this 3 stars because thats the average of one and five stars. My son & I came here for a new place to ride bikes. BIG mistake. The terrain is very hilly, and most of the hills are very steep. Too steep to ride up, and even going down could hardly be called "riding". Even walking is quite the workout, especially while pushing a bike. My fault for not checking it out first, but this is much more challenging than say Morgan Territory or Round Valley in East county. But when you get to the top of those hills, the view is great. Can see for miles and look down on much of the city. Must be wonderful in the early morning with the fog rolling through, or when a storm is headed in. Or at night. So if you want a challenging hike, this will do it for you, but go forewarned.
