Birdworld in Āgaro
Description
It was the first time I visited the park in a few years yesterday (I used to be a regular!and I was blown away by how much the park has improved. It was a nice enough place to begin with, but theres clearly been a lot of thought put into making it even better and its paid off. A significant number of aviaries have been upgraded, and very nice new ones have been built. There are now a LOT of talks on in the day, which seem to be focused on education and conservation... if you plan on attending all of the talks, you can easily be kept busy all day. There was also a pop up stand with a Halloween themed activity when I visited. General facilities have improved, too.If anyone hasnt visited the park in a while and is wondering whether to visit again, I highly recommend it! And if youve not visited before, then visit!
MoreA very nice place for a family outing. Kids will enjoy this place specially interacting with the farm animals. A decent varierty of birds
MoreFun day out! Parking available and amazing place to visit. You can spend nearly an entire day here. Better to book tickets online as they can be cheaper. Not very far from the M3, it’s well connected to major roads
MoreI have not visited Bird world for many years, but was pleasantly surprised with how lovely it was, we enjoyed all the different birds and the animal farm where you could go into the pens and stroke the animals. The cafes are all spotlessly clean and refreshing to use, the toy shop was really lovely and not too expensive. I will definitely visit here again.
MoreWell definitely be going back.. went not knowing what to expect but my daughter and I had a great time! Plenty to do and look at. Cafe was a bit pricey, but when you feel like its going to a good cause, you dont mind as much! Highly recommended for half a day of funUPDATE: Avian Flu restrictions have been lifted so its even better!
MoreOverall a pleasant experience. Kids loved it. Lots of lovely birds as well as farm animals. The little farm was very cute. The reason I couldnt give 5 stars was due to the cafe. I was slightly disappointed that there was no where comfortable to breastfeed my baby as they had sectioned off the sofa seating area early to clean it/ around 4.30, which meant I had to awkwardly feed on a standard chair outside. I had asked if it was at all possible to feed there even though it was cordoned off but was told the floor was still wet. I totally understand people want to get off in time at the end of the day, but seeing those are the only comfortable seats could a different area be closed off and cleaned first (if it has to be done so early before closing?I just found it was very early for cleaning generally. Also the main toilets near the entrance need a proper cleaner, or more thorough attention to detail as there were thick cobwebs behind each toilet door and the corners, clearly just been missed but just an observation.
MoreGreat place for a family day out! Not a long walk but with a lot to see, the birds and animals are well taken care of, and the gift shop has something for every budget to be accommodated. The dinosaur show was great and the team who worked on it was absolutely spot on with the children and the adults, everyone got good fun out of it!
MoreFantastic place to visit. Birds and animals well looked after. Laid back atmosphere. Friendly staff. Educational talks. Lots to do. Benches everywhere for rests. Large open space if you are worried about covid. Kids love seeing the animals.
MoreA great day out. Good to bring my son and spend some time in nature. I recommend the annual pass as now we can gonas many times as we like and relax. We live locally sonits nice to pop in for an hour or 2 and then go home just to have a nice break.
MoreOther then costing over £60 to visit as a family of 5We had a great time visiting and seeing all the enclosures seeing some incredible species of birds you would never be able to see in the wildWent as 2 adults and 3 kids [2 - 10 -12] who enjoyed it just as much as we did£30 for a family of 5 would be a reasonable price £66 is a little over the top for this placePs if you use picnic to prebooked you can say 20% on day prices
MorePopped in whilst in area having not been for many years. Ticket price very reasonable under £20. Plenty of birds to look at with talks taking place throughout the day. Lots of other areas for children such as a small farm area, park and dinosaur attraction.
MoreA fantastic place to visit especially if you love birds, lots of species even endangered ones. Little ones will enjoy it too. Visited the place with a toddler and a baby and had a great experience. There is also a playground and snake and coffee stops with toilets in between with baby change as well( wanted it a bit cleaner though). A mini farm with lots of animals Id there too to visit hens, gooses, rabbits, turkeys, guinea pigs, goats and a pig, wich you can pet and feed as well. Parking space in front for free and a souvenir shop. Would definitely go again once babies older so they can understand a bit more what they see.
MoreBeautiful birds, very well looked after in lovely gardens. Very good information, esp on threatened species. Highly recommended.
Moreit was so good, I love the birds there!! Plus the scenery was beautiful. I like how close I could get to the birds
MoreAlways a fantastic place to visit. Staff are friendly and inviting. We take our 6 month old around for a bit of fun and he really likes the birds and farm animals.
MoreI went for my birthday yesterday with my mum , we had never been before and we loved it so much. Animals, greenery, water. Was a perfect place. We honestly didnt want to leave. I love they really have catered for everyone who may need lots of sit downs there are benches situated threwout and kiosks and toilets and it makes a huge difference to people. We are going to come back again after summer holidays.
MoreGreat day out for young and old. Plenty to see, lots of talks and demonstrations. Cafes, toilets and picnic areas on site.
MoreEnjoyed a mooch around and picnic.... a fab array of birds, loved watching the penguins swimming, and the farm is a great added extra as you can go in the animal pens and get up close and personal with the goats, the pheasants roam freely too and the chickens. We also really enjoyed the cheeky cockatoos who whilst and chat and the owl parliament. My main advice... definitely take a picnic, very pricey inside!!Also such a shame certain features no longer run I.e the safari train, there is definitely room for more activities!
MoreA fun day out, wasnt too busy on a Sunday afternoon. There was lots of space, very approachable birds and got some nice photos. The talks are informative and bring some structure to the day out. There is also a farm with farm animals which is a nice bonus!
MoreGreat place to take the kids. So many different types of birds its great learning for kids too. Lovely clean and friendly staff. Take a picnic or grab a bit at the cafe.
MoreWhat a lovely magical place to be. Fantastic array of birds and so well kept. Took the people i support there last week and a great time was had by all. Immaculate toilets, great cafe and delicious lunch...just couldnt fault it. And super helpful staff, very polite...safe to say we loved it x
MoreGreat place to visit. A variety of things to do. Had a very Happy 6 year old.
Great bird sanctuary that gives you the opportunity to explore and be educated on so many different species! Birds appeared relaxed and well looked after. Id recommend it as a day trip to the cotswolds for all.
MoreAmazing place to visit. Easy to navigate. Not to big. No one trying to sell you anything. Little places to stop along the way. Birds are beautiful. Lovely trees and plants.
Morethe name Birdworld doesnt sound so great but this place exceeded our expectations. The variety and colour of the birds on show is remarkable, and the farm section allowed us to get close and personal with the animals inside their pens, rather than being fenced off from them. Would visit again 🐧
MoreI support disabled and autistic adults. Brought two of our clients here and had a really lovely day. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the birds are stunning and we all enjoyed seeing them. The whole place was clean, tidy, well sign posted and informative also easy to move round with a wheelchair. Lots to see and do, I highly recommend.
MoreGood day out and plenty of areas to explore. I preferred the large enclosure areas that you can walk through where the birds have a bit of space to fly and do as they please over the rows of box like sheds with birds in and feel if this place was to transition to more of a large enclosure it could become one of the best options for a great visit.
MoreTook my grandson here on a Friday during half term. It was busy but its such a big place it didnt matter. I booked tickets the day before. The birds all look very healthy and the aviaries were all very clean. Sometimes its a little sad to see the birds in captivity but they are doing very valuable conservation work here which you can get involved with by adopting a bird. It was a wonderful day out and leaves you astonished at the stunning varieties of our feathered friends. Well worth a visit.
MoreWoodland walk was a avant-garde philosophical masterpiece, on a scale not seen since Parmenides; Also be sure to visit the Black Winged Stilts, they were very cool.
MoreFun little day out for the kids with some birds and a farm with goats they can feed. The kiosks were closed and cafe was overpriced school food I suggest taking pack lunch. Some attractions were closed off with concerns about avian flu so not a full visit I presume its all open in the summer.
MoreGood place for bird lovers and kids.. can spend good 3-4 hours here. Check the feed timings, they r best..
MoreWas great, so many lovely birds in massive enclosures, good day out. Would be 5 stars but the food let it down
MoreLovely day at bird world. Unfortunately some of the walk throughs were closed off, so unable to see the flamingos. But we still enjoyed the day and saw plenty of beautiful birds.
MoreMy two year old nephew loved the farm, the hands on experience with the goats was his fav. Was not as many animals but we went late in the summer. Birds a little harder for him to spot but that’s to be expected, maybe some interactive or larger pictures for little ones to enjoy would be a good addition. So sad to see the aquarium has closed. Found the gift some to be fairly priced, food on the other hand didn’t feel worth the money. Path/rope in front of penguins made it difficult for little ones to get close during show/feeding time. Definitely will go earlier in the year next time hopefully the farm will have more animals to see. Could also do with adding more swings we had to wait for some time before the other parents took their children off allowing others a turn. The tractors were also a huge hit, more fun stuff like that for the littles would push it to a 5 star.
MoreVisited for my fiances birthday. The staff are friendly and there are indeed lots of birds and they are well kept. Surprised that there were only a few African Greys but perhaps this is a good thing. A walk in experience with parakeets/parrots would be a good addition. Toilets were clean and plentiful and the cafe had plenty of options.
MoreBirdworld is a superb place to visit. It caters for the whole family. There is a vast range of different species of birds to see close up and all set in a lovely, well-cared for environment. The Penguins are a treat to observe, especially when they are being fed.
MoreAbsolutely fantastic visit!Food was great, the birds were beautiful and looked well cared for, lots of info signs around too. Staff were friendly, loos nice and clean too!My 7 year old loved it and wants to come back again.
MoreBeautiful place and amazing birds.Ideal for a calm day with the kids. Great variety of birds and farm animals. Park is well cared and toilets and cafe were recently refurbished. The staff and especially the manager are very polite and welcoming.Highly recommended it
MoreWhat a great day out. Took our granddaughter for her second visit although this time, as a little older, loved to see all the birds and animals and certinaly paid more attention this time round. Easy to navigate around with plenty of areas to stop and rest. Had lunch in the cafe which was good value for money. Everything was being well managed with plenty of staff members on hand should they be needed. Make sure you purchase some food for the birds as they love it, especially the turkeys and chickens.
MoreThis is a lovely place to visit. Nicely laid out and not too big. A lot of seating and its very flat so ideal for all the family. Lots of different types of birds including Owls, Hornbills and Penguins. Plus a petting zoo. Great for younger children too. Also has some great play equipment areas.
MoreGreat place! Me and my partner throughly enjoyed the place. Everything is really clean, staff is very pleasant and the talks were great. We were able to talk to staff that was very knowledgable and happy to talk to us.Lots of birds to see, the informations given about animals were interesting and condensed, so you were given most important information.Took us around 4hr to walk through the whole place without stopping and we also haven’t attended all talks!Lots of people enjoying day out with kids. It looked like children do really enjoy the place. Not crowded, which is great, hand disinfectants were put around the place.Toilets were very clean.Overall, it’s a great place to have day out, both for kids and adults! 100% recommend it!
MoreWell spaced out nice variety of birds, benches for picnics, play parks for little ones, petting farm. Coffee shop and places to get snacks and hot drinks, toilets were a bit gross, great day out for young and old.Suitable for wheelchair users and people with buggies.
MoreNice bird zoo with lots of different birds and information available about the birds. Particularly enjoyed the "Terry Prachett Owl area". The real highlight is the childrens farm and play area at the top of the park. Its a really lovely place for children to play.Youre able to feed select animals and can purchase pots of mealworms at the reception for £1 but there are a limited number of pots per day.Plenty of toilets in/around the park. Good baby change facilities. Park is really well set up for wheelchairs/mobility scooters.Would also recommend the cafe. The hot food has limited serving hours (until 3 at the moment). Theres a few little cafes around the park serving a limited choice (such as drinks, ice cream, biscuits). Theres also plenty of picnic tables if you want to bring your own food.I spent around 4 hours there
MorePlenty to see and a fun day out. Most importantly didnt feel rushed to walk around. Kids enjoyed the farm area and had fun feeding the little goats. Lots of benches and open areas to have a picnic.
MoreFantastic place to take young kids. Plenty of space to run around even on summer holidays. They have animals you can stroke like rabbits and goats not to mention the friendly birds that might come for a fuss (a turkey followed us round quite some time for a fussthey also have a few rodents too and other animals.
MoreReally fabulous display of birds. The girls loved it. But the entry fee was too pricey to be able to buy anything in the cafe so make sure you bring a picnic.Staff were incredibly helpful.
MoreBeautiful place! Great day out for all ages. Loads to see and beautifully laid out. Lovely spacious enclosures for all the animals. Palm cafe was great too. Reasonably priced and food was great. Highly recommend for a wonderful day out. Will be going back there again soon!
MoreThis place was great except for the cafe. Not only were there massive queues, but the tables and cutlery were dirty and some tables still had food on them - I had to ask staff twice to clean the table and when they did come, they only took the plates away, leaving the table with stains and crumbs. Apart from that, the experience was great, with a large variety of different birds! If you are a lover of birds, then this place is definitely for you! (I would recommend bringing your own picnic instead of getting food there)
MoreWe arrived at opening time and spent the entire day there - they have so much to see. I dont know if they capped the amount of visitors, but at no point did it feel crowded or busy and we were able to see everything. We especially enjoyed the farm area where they have some super friendly goats you can pet, and free roaming chickens and turkeys. They had a good selection of food and snacks available, and the gift shop has really nice stuff.
MoreGreat day out for all ages, wonderful selection of Birds plus the small farm area.Well prices kiosks for drinks and snacks and a great cafe where you can build a packed lunch for your child/children which was a great idea as there are some lovely grass areas you can sit in the sun and eat while viewing the birds. Great day will definitely go again
