Birdhouse Bar - Bar in Wagga Wagga, Australia
Michael is an exemplary worker, always greeting me, my wife and four kids with a welcoming and inviting smile. He is exceptionally fast at running food clocking an average speed of ~43kms/hr. My only tidbit would be sometimes the food is scorching hot. I understand this tends to be a good thing, but I have a very sensitive tongue. Also the music could be improved by the addition of the artist "Dave" or "Santan Dave". I recommend the songs: Streatham, Twenty to One and Professor X.
Too noisy due to loud mudic seating uncomfortable, very limited menu. probably a venue fir young people. We left without ordering food.
Absolutely delicious cocktails!
Stylish venue, genuinely interesting menu that is well executed and quality staff on point......😊
Fantastic food and cocktail menu would recommend birdhouse to anyone
Amazing foods and drinks. Mango mantra is my fav cocktail!
Really disappointed, the food was really awful cold and dry. Staff are rude, and they even didn’t bother to bring out knifes and forks. Even the chips were cold! Super disappointed
Nice atmosphere with meals to contemplate
Delicious food and fantastic service! The house salad was so yum! So glad it’s open for lunch on Fridays!
Food was bad. Like really bad. Chicken wings were prepared at least a couple hours prior and came out cold and dry, the bao had been sitting out for the same amount of time and had hardened, and the "dumplings" were terrible and consisted of 90% fried dough. Oh, lamb was horrific and cold. The smash burger and sweet potato fries were really good. Nice place too.
loved the food, enjoyed the music, wonderful time with family!
Good luck trying to book a function here. Customer service is non existent.
Booked for an engagement party and when we turned up there were people sitting at the reserved seats. After they were asked to move the tables were left with their dirty glasses which remained on the tables for most of the night. I assume the engaged couple were charged for the booking which really was not honoured.
Somewhat disappointed after our Sunday evening dinner experience. While seated after ordering and paying for our meals, a staff member informed us the cutlets were not available. No worries from our end - we were happy to change it to the steak. However, this resulted in the steak coming out a lot later than all the other meals. It also arrived without a major element (the pea puree), as did the Katsu bowl. The Katsu bowl arrived with plain rice (not stickyand no Asian greens. The issue here was that there was no explanation provided by the kitchen or staff. We let a wait staff know the meals were not as described in the menu, and asked for some substitutes, as after all, we were paying full price for them both. They provided us with some mash, which unfortunately arrived when the meals where pretty much finished, and a free cocktail - which was delicious and much appreciated. I didnt want the side salad that was offered, so gave my thanks-but-no-thanks and left it at that. Lastly, the portion of salt and pepper squid was very small in relation to the price.I just wanted to give a bit of honest feedback as we do love this place and try to support it whenever we are in town. The spiced mojito however ROCKED.. highly recommend!
The staff were so polite and enthusiastic. Foor was pretty good, great wine regional selection.
Great atmosphere and awesome food. Music was a tad loud but overall a great night.
Not bad place for drinks on a Saturday night but wouldnt go back for food. Food was cold. Seemed most of the staff were more.concerned about pouring drinks rather than getting the food out in timely manner. Wasnt even that busy for restaurant as we went in early. Get some of those heat lamps or something. Food bit pricey aswell. Expect better
Unfortunately the staff (two girlswere rude when I was there on a Saturday afternoon. The place was empty and I am not sure why they behaved like that. Not cool at all..
This place is only suited for drinks. Ordered Calamari but the portions were so small. For the cost vs value not worth it. If your hungry avoid.
Lovely bar, food was good and had a nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again.
Great atmosphere and staff, some of the cocktails need a bit more flavour tho, some a touch to watery
Good food and drinks. Friendly staff. Friday evening happy hour 5pm to 7pm.
The beer garden in the back is a lovely surprise. Great young crowd, just needs a dance floor, so much fun!!🤩🥳😎
Cant fault the place really, service is decent, food is great and reasonably priced, and it has a nice ambience to it.
Next level place. Great food, good vibes. Really appreciated their diverse veggie menu.
A perfect place to relax. Great cocktail selection. And the kitchen was still open until 9pm on Sunday night. Highly recommend.
Amazing food and a really great spot.Highly recommend the cheeseburger and the soft shell crab options.Awesome range of drinks, cocktails, and lovely staff.
Good place to go for dinner and have a nice drink. Very friendly staff and food was very good too.
Come here with friends from out of town for lunch today. Our Burgers were delicious! The buddah bowl was rather disappointing though.
Love this place. Food and drinks are always amazing. And its so good to see Thirsty Crow beer on tap here. Supporting your local brewery is the way to go.
Nice staff good food A++
Absolutely delicious! Great vegan options and really friendly staff. 10/10 recommend!
Awesome food - Great staff and service - definitely come come back
Best cocktail place in town! Has been a saviour for my friends and I during Covid, one of the only things that has felt normal during this time. Keep up the vibes
My partner and I ate here on a quick trip from Sydney. Really nice food. Ordered chicken parmigianas and some salt and pepper squid. Parmys were uncrusted in a really nice ham, sauce and cheese, beautiful chips and even the salad was great haha. Squid was fresh as and perfectly coated and cooked. Really enjoyed the feed.
Mc Donalds whould gave been better.A disappointing effort from Birdhouse Bar involving myself paying $46 for two inedible meals, where the burger quality was that of a maccas standard, with the added benifit of more than double to price and a sickening feeling in my our stomachs. The burned and though burger patties, where harder to rip in half that a tie down strap while leaving a maccas like aftertast in our mouthes. $5 for less than a can of coke is an utter disappointment, where two glasses were filled by just over one can of coke, leaving my partner and i disappointed about the fact we couldnt keep the left over 3/4 of the second can. Maccas chips were served with the burger, in a metal flower pot like container, with peeling paint, flaking off into the chips. This isnt an acceptabke standard by any means. Dissapointed is an inadequate word to describe Birdhouse Bar
Visited Birdhouse twice during my work trip. My favourite place in Wagga to eat and drink for sure. Great wine choices and food was extremely good. The grilled parmi was amazing. Highly recommend if you are looking for more than the usual pub food.
Lovely place for a meal and few drinks. Just gets a bit loud and difficult to talk when there is a band or music playing. But the beer garden out the back is a nice place to sit to escape the noise. Great service as well.
We absolutely loved the Birdhouse Bar. We took the kids there for fathers day dinner and all 6 of us had a good time. The live music was great and the teenagers were ecstatic that they could charge their phones at the table. The food was really delicious. A bit pricey, but worth it. I had an $18 cocktail, but G Dam out was delicious. Well definitely go back.
Teendy, good food, drinks and vibe
Great cocktails, decent food and friendly knowledgeable staff. The vibe here is perfect for a Sunday session with a nice beer garden out back and good tunes on heavy rotation.
Very good staff, very patient with all customers. Especially customers that have had too much to drink. Excellent cocktail selection and good whiskies to choose from.
Hey, just a little review to let you know that I am disappointed in the way in which my family was treated by the bar staff on Saturday. We popped in with some friends for a quick drink as the Mardi Gras parade ended. There were around 20 or so people in the birdhouse at this time, so it hadn’t quite kicked off in there yet. I placed my order at the bar and the first employee poured the beer and brought it over. As I was going to pay, another employee came over and abruptly and rudely informed us that there are to be no children in the bar this afternoon. Her language was not friendly or polite. Our 10 month old son was sitting quietly in his pram, so it’s not like we were “those people”. We left disheartened and continued on to the party in the gardens. As we walked home half an hour later, we looked in the birdhouse to see it was packed. There were four or five children running around inside. If you’re going to be rude and kick us out, fine, but at least be consistent with your “rules” which we were told were made specifically for this particular afternoon/night.We have been in there previously with our son in the afternoon with no issues whatsoever. Why you chose to not receive our patronage tonight is very unclear. Thanks for the good times you’ve given us in the past, but this interaction left us feeling very unwelcome.
Tried the Vego Platter - glad we did! Tasty and plenty of it :)
Overly priced drinks. Even though the drinks were pricey, they made an amazing whisky sour and a delicious Jam Jar, with Kraken rum on my request. The atmosphere was great.
Great cocktails and atmosphere. The mexican share platter had no spice to it which was disappointing and it did get quite noisy. But overall a good place to go.
Always a great time. The drinks, the food are the best in town. Staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The place is always evolving with new art works and improments happening all the time. A must visit everytime!
Great atmosphere, great range of cocktails, and sensational menu. Absolutely best way to spend a Sunday night. (Or any other night of the week.)
Great night! When the cocktail we wanted was not available the friendly bartender made a great suggestion to substitute - worked a treat! Service was on point - the lone bartender even had time to help take a group photo for other punters while wrangling with the heater for us. Highly recommend!
Great bar with friendly bar staff and a superb range of craft beers and freshly made cocktails. A range of spaces, all really well done, and even a decent beer garden.Would be perfectly at home in the Melbourne or Sydney bar scene so great to find a bar like this while travelling around the state.
