Birch Lake Resort in Thessalon

The resort is a beautiful little off grid escape it’s peaceful and relaxing cabins were clean with both hot and cold water fresh bedding and towels our bed in cabin 1 was more comfortable than our own lol the owners/hosts Andy and Kim are very accommodating very helpful and excellent hosts they they provided a big bbq cook out for the whole resort tons of fishing and endless trails to explore our family rented 3 cabins and they were all very well maintained clean and spacious we highly recommend this place and already booked for 2 weeks next year because one just wasn’t enough when your there you don’t wanna go home, the amount of wildlife we seen and so many cool things there if you want a little piece of paradise this is itThanks for the amazing experienceSue n Chris

Absolutely love going here ❤️ In love with the breath taking views, cabins are very homey and spacious, our home away from home! Well worth the 8 hour drive. Owners Andy and Kim are very lovely and very helpful and knowledgeable! Can’t wait to come back next year!

When I think about about a family vacation at a cottage on a lake, Birch Lake Resort checked off all of the boxes. What a great place on an intimate and beautiful lake. The cabins are cozy yet roomy and have everything you could possibly need. We stayed in Cabin 2 and the highlight for me was the morning coffee on the deck that is a few short feet from the water. It was amazing to start each morning listening to the loons, herons, moose and other various wildlife. We rented a boat for the week and it was docked right outside our cabin! The electric motors get you where you need to go efficiently and they are so quiet that no one can hear you leaving if you want to sneak out for some early morning fishing.A grocery store (Valu-Martis located a short 10-15 minute drive away in Thessalon so you dont have to worry about bringing absolutely everything with you for food supplies. There is also a Home Hardware, LCBO, and a new Tim Hortons.The kids had a great time using the kayaks and playing on the swimming platform with slide. they also went on a short hike where they were able to pick berries. The property is kept in amazing condition and you can see that the new owner, Andy takes tremendous pride in making sure everyone has what they need. We are already planning a long weekend visit over Thanksgiving and have already booked a week for 2022.

What can I say, Birch Lake Resort is breathtaking! The scenery was so peaceful and fill of wildlife. My family of 5 stayed for a week in Cabin 5 with lots of space for us all. The kids had a room with bunk beds and us adults had a separate room to our selves. Kitchen was equip with everything we needed for the week to cook and enjoy! BBQ was included along with a firepit and firewood for the best late night campfires! We had our own dock to jump off of and hang fishing traps. We caught many fish over the week with just the traps. Days spent on the lake were peaceful and relaxing. The kids loved having access to kayaks and a canoe! Spent many mornings on the kayaks as the sun beamed off the water, memories the kids will never forget! Great little restaurants just 15 mins away in Thessalon and surrounding towns. All so unique and wonderful to stop and take a walk around. 100% will be back with the family to enjoy once again! Amazing break away from busy city life. Thanks again Andy for hosting my family!

Amazing place!! Cant say enough good things about it. First time in Thessalon, first time here. Amazing cabins! Amazing fishing! Access to the kayaks and boat was an awesome bonus! Family had a blast! Andy was super nice and helped us out with every question we had and ensured we had an amazing time! Lots of wild life in the area as well! We will all definitely be back soon, and with the entire family, so probably will be booking All the cabins at some point on the future lol! Thanks again for the amazing experience!!

Great for families, excellent value for money. I booked cottages 2-4 with my family for a week. We were on the dock every sunny day with kids in the lake. Thessalon is a 15 min drive away with a nice big sandy beach if you need a change in scene. ATV trails up the road are good for blueberry picking. Cottages are a little dated but give you everything you need. Owner was super friendly and accommodating for all of our needs. Bring a fan if youre going to be sleeping on the top bunk during a hot week.

Myself and my wife just had the most amazing time for our honeymoon at birch lake resort .The cabin was so clean and organized. Andy the owner was nothing but amazing and knowledgeable about every question we could possibly have strongly recommend going to birch lake I have already booked 3 cabins for next year and I can’t wait for next year to come

Our family of 7 plus 3 dogs enjoyed a week long holiday at Birch Lake Resort. We had two cottages and had a great time - swimming, kayaking, playing games, fishing. Thanks Andy for all your work.

I took my parents and son there for a week and we had an amazing time. The cabins were clean with both hot and cold running water, shower, indoor plumbing, WIFI, satellite TV for the rainy days, bedding and towels were provided, fully equipped kitchen and free firewood. Really al you need to bring is your clothing, food and fishing gear. Boat rentals are inexpensive and the fishing is amazing. The new owner Andy is an amazing man and is full of knowledge, he takes pride in what he does and takes really good care of you. His customer service is first class. We liked it so much that we have already booked another week and will continue to make this our vacation getaway.Thanks again Andy

In response to your attempt to clear the air. I have called numerous times to speak with you and texted numerous times to communicate with you and your avoidance speaks loudly. No need to come on here to save your reputation by making it seem you care. I can articulate just fine it is on you to own your decisions and then we move on but you continue to avoid and continue with the stories. If you want to chat I am waiting. Have been since July 14. Your phone still goes unanswered. You refuse to offer up any resolution for the mishap. Clearly it doesn’t matter to you. If I didn’t know any better I would bet you are a dirty car salesman.

This was our fourth time staying at Birch Lake Resort, but this was the first time under the new owner Andy. What a wonderful person he is and he takes such pride in his duties keeping his resort safe and comfortable for his guests! He made himself available always which came in handy when the water line broke and we all did not have any water, he had it fixed within 10 minutes!! We loved hearing about the ideas he has for the future of the resort and he is so knowledgeable about the area. We cannot wait for our next stay! Thank you Andy for allowing us to feel so comfortable and safe and able to thoroughly enjoy our family vacation without a worry in the world!! Enjoy the rest of your summer! 😊

Amazing Fishing Destination! Andy the Owner is 1st Class, Very friendly, approachable, a wealth of Knowledge! Cottages are literally on the lake we even had our own Dock! PB was caught during our stay 5.5 lb Small Mouth Bass and lots of Pike! Cottages are clean, spacious and offer everything you need for an enjoyable stay! You wont find a better deal. Views are fantastic and youll likely have the whole lake to yourself most day!!! Lots of other lakes to explore during your stay! Boat launch is awesome! Our go to spot every year!!!

Beautiful place. New owner Andy was very accommodating. Took alot of pride in hes new home made you feel like family. Clean and fishing is great!! Look foward to returning.

Had a great stay. The new owner is friendly and a great guy. Makes sure you have everything you need for a relaxing week. Amazingly quiet, private lake filled with Pike and Smallmouth. Clean cabins with hot and cold running water, shower, kitchen. Other attractions are close by for day trips too if you feel like it!

Amazing, affordable vacation spot, we stay twice a year. Cabins are clean, with amenities. Great lake and fishing, riddled with pike and small mouth bass! Amazing area to explore too. Always enjoyable, and never let us down! See you soon!

My husband and I had a great time staying at the Birch Lake Resort for a week. I am so happy the owner took extra precautions to clean the place and left plenty of disinfectant products for us to use. The owner of the place was so nice and easy going. The view of the lake is spectacular. We had fun fishing and chilling at our cottage. We also took some short trip out for hiking. It’s about 2hrs drive to Lake Superior provincial park. We will definitely come back again.

The best place

We reserved this place a month in advance. Get there after driving 8 hours and told they are closing and we can not stay. Can you imagine how we felt. We had No where to go.

Fantastic stay at Birch Lake Resort, it was our first time. The cabins are cute and clean. Many amenities: you must take the paddle boat out and make way around the whole lake to see the natural beauty and wildlife.Darko showed us where to pick wild blueberries... Its just down the road. We made the best pancakes Ive ever had!Some of the best Pike I have ever tasted too.Thank you again, I will definitely be back!!!

Young kid named Darko running the place. Friendly. Easy going. Making lots of improvements. Had a blast with my family.
