Biocentro Guembe Mariposario in San Carlos

We went & have to say this is a magical beautiful place. The birds,butterflies are amazing. But the food at the court was something we to this day recall.We remember the soup,the buffet full of yummy selections..A MUST if you go visit you have to try the food..

A great side trip while in Santa Cruz. It is a hybred between a nature perserve, and a hotelWith a large bar, pool and restaurant. They have a shop, a small museum etc. A few animals etc itis good for a few hours.You also pass through the nicest part of town to get to it. A winner.

This place aged badly, maybe because of the 2 years stop during covid.Half the activities are in poor conditions.The aviary and butterfly are really nice but swimming pools were not clean and water is quite cold. A small heated pool would have been nice.We asked to play to the mini golf but the reception rejected telling us that it was closed without more information.We spent 1h30 in the spark and left.

You wouldnt believe this exists unless you see it for yourself. Being surrounded by all the mariposas when you walk into the dome was emotionally exhilarating. I have never giggled so hard. You can see for miles out into the Amazonias from atop the lookout. Emerald green ocean of mysteries. This may have been the most beautiful thing I saw in Bolivia

Beautiful place

Biocentro Guembe is a beautiful piece of paradise not far from the city of Santa Cruz, the location is perfect for a day trip. Guembe has a lot to offer for everyone, from multiple swimming pools, trails, a butterfly conservatory, mini golf, kayaking in a natural lagoon, and the largest aviary in Bolivia. The food here was great as well. It’s the perfect place to spend a relaxed day in a peaceful, beautiful environment.

We love visiting this place. You can come and relax in nature for the whole day, relax/swim by the pools, enjoy a good meal, walk among nature, enjoy yourself

Quiet expensive place but worthwhile especially when they run promos like 2 for 1.The place deteriorated a little but that is excusable since they had a rough financial year. Otherwise the nature and animals you are able to see on eye level is just stunning. And a visit is recommended for all ages.

Its a bit pricey to get in but this was the only place that I have seen monkeys in. Lots of birds. Not to many butterflies, I think were in the wrong time for, so there wasnt many of them. Good place to visit with kids.

Guembe is one of the standard places I always bring my friends to when they come to Santa Cruz. The zoo, aviary and butterfly enclosure are great, not to mention the animals that you find simply wandering around the premises. Walk around a bit in the morning, eat some lunch, finish the remaining animal exhibits and then finish the day at the pool. This is a recipe for a fun day, provided the weather is good.

There is so much to see and do :lunch was included but I believe thats just a may promotion so we went at a great time. Not many people. Very fun for anyone who likes the outdoors

Very nice - although not very cheap. Guided tour is definitely worth it and the bird place (aviario)is breathtaking! You cannot go to Santa Cruz de la Sierra and not visit this place

Amazing place. Just woman from the place Boutique sometimes closes on her own time (but it is written "abierto"so you cant enter and buy something or rent golf clubs. Other than that, it is worth it to visit.

Very nice

Our time at Guembe was amazing. So relaxing and much needed. The seafood risotto was to die for. I will be back. All of the animals were absolutely amazing.

Great place to relax

The swimmingpools are awesome! Great place to relax and enjoy nature! The music and design bring an elegance also to the place and the little lagoon and walk to see the butterflies and parrots bring its rustic and natural feel. Very well organized, very clean and secluded.

Beautiful but absolutely not what i was expecting the prices are through the roof just crazy 40bs for a burger where i can go outside and buy a fully loaded burger for 7bs

Interesting hotel resort that is also accessible for day guests using the pools, playground, minigolf, of visit the butterflies, tarantulas, monkeys, turtles and most impressive of ammo: birds. They have all kinds of parrots and Aras as well as peacocks and toucans.

Beautiful place to visit. Excellent food (buffet). The very negative point is that they check your bags and even handbags. Worst than security check at airports. Very negative experience for anybody, worst for visitors from other countries.

Great place.

Its a nice place for a daytrip. Maybe its because it wasnt high season, but there were some parts of the park that seemed neglected. At the lagoon a platform was broken as was a part of the pailing, so water from the lagoon was floating over the walking paths and -stairs. The cabins and other residential stays looked very luxurious, but abandoned (and some of them had their doors open, so you could just walk in). Furthermore, very loud dance music was played at one of the swimming pools that you could hear through the whole park. On top of that, people were yelling and screaming. The different swimming pools are gorgeous though. As were the parts where the animals were being kept (especially the birds!). We also recommend to open your eyes for the animals outside the cages though! We liked the statue garden very much (in contrast, this part was very well maintained). The food in the restaurant however, is very expensive and the buffet is definitely not worth the costs.
