Bindiya Cozumel Mexico - Indian restaurant in San Miguel de Cozumel, Mexico
Bindiya Cozumel Mexico in San Miguel de Cozumel
Description
Privilege
Every time we attempted to go to this restaurant in the past 4 weeks it has been closed. Not sure whether its closed for good or they are just terrible at advertising their hours of operation accurately.
MoreGreat food, honestly one of the best Indian dishes I’ve ever had. I ordered the murgh vindaloo, and garlic naan, it was incredible, so much flavor! My 5 year old lapped it up as well, despite it being spicy!
MoreMust visit Indian restaurant, food is authentic and tasty. Noe is really gracious and helpful, he even helped us get a taxi after we are done with the meal. Definitely a five start for customer service.
MoreFood was great. 5 people with 5 different entrees and they were all great. Only down side is having to pay for the rice
MoreReally good food! Very tasteful. We shared a chicken curry, rice and yoghurt. Chicken very tender. Flavoursome doughnuts as dessert. The service was very friendly and good! Really liked it
MoreThe food is beautiful and big portions. The owner is lovely and very welcoming. We will definitely be back :)
MoreOne of the best Indian food I have eaten anywhere in the world, including in India. Absolutely excellent. Highly recommended!!! AAA++
MoreWe were thrilled to finally find an authentic Indian restaurant! Mona, the owner, has an outstanding staff and the food is incredible. We cant recommend this place highly enough. They also have a full bar so you can get a nice glass of wine to pair with that heavenly food.We will be going back again very soon!
MoreIndian food in Cozumel? What a wonderful surprise.! The food and staff were amazing. I didnt expect really good Indian food but we sure got it.
MoreSurprised to find such good Vindaloo in Cozumel. Nice place and really nice staff.
MoreNice place with one of the best Indian foods in Mexico.
Very underrated resuturant. Try this if you are in Cozumel you will love the hospitality and food.
MoreAmazing Indian dishes. Great flavor and large size portions. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable restaurant.
MoreFood is very close to authentic Indian food. I was surprised to know that the chef was Mexican but he was getting trained by an Indian chef who would visit them a few times in a year. We could not try the tandoor as tandoor clay was broken during our visit but rest of the food was great. The site manager was courteous and even called a cab driver when we asked.
MoreGood place to find Indian food in Mexico
Brilliant service and Staff is so nice . Best Indian food in the area . Food presentation is awesome . Highly recommended this place .green chutney is out of this world, very delicious . Bindiya is a pleasant for Indian cuisine.
MoreMy wife and I pride ourselves in cooking and enjoying Indian food. Byindiya was a pleasant surprise to find in Mexico. Our server was friendly and the food was good enough for us to return a second time. The food is a little on the sweeter side and definitely lacks the heat in spice that usually accompanies Indian cuisine. A pleasant find!
MoreThis used to be miss dollar, same bartender as before, always try to stop in and have a few drinks, great guy and mixes the pina caladas up just how i like them, had a few items from the curry menu 2 years ago when it first converted to east indian menu, as far as what i had it was great althought it seemed a bit pricey for the portions.
MoreThe food was surprisingly authentic, and delicious. I asked for some particular preferences and they were happy to obligue. I loved the ambiance too. Then I stayed after my meal to work on my laptop, wifi was good and they didnt mind if I stayed all day. For me the cherry on top was that they provided fennel candy after the meal which I always have after eating Indian. No complaints at all! Definitely will go again and recommend others to go.
MorePleasantly surprised to find authentic Indian cuisine in beautiful Cozumel. The staff were very kind and went the extra mile to cater to us. The food is much better than what you would find in a generic “Americanized” Indian restaurant! Do not miss this gem if you are in Cozumel!
MoreIts great experience and great food Indian motton biryani
It was with great expectations that we went to Bindiya this evening. The reviews that we found spoke highly of this new restaraunt just a few blocks from the center of San Miguel. As people who spend a month per year in Cozumel this diversity was welcomed.Walking into an empty restaurant was our first sign of concern, but when the lady in charge didnt get off her butt to greet us concerns began to grow. We entered anyway wanting to believe the reviews we read - they must have been paid reviews on yelp..My pina colada was the worst Ive had - EVER!Tried to order but they didnt have Nan bread. Seriously, an indian (dotrestaurant without nan. Tried for plain basmati rice - no again. They charged $5 for some flavored rice. Have you ever been to an Indian restaurant that did not serve rice with the main dishes? But not having lamb - no lamb at all - that section of the menu was out. So it was chicken or fish or some unrecognizable vegetarian stuff with potatos. So we defaulted to two chicken dishes, Murgh chicken curry & Butter chicken along with an order of Jerra rice (has to buy rice!)..The dishes were VERY bland. The murgh curry wasnt bad though and we did eat it. It just lacked any real curry flavor. The butter chicken was unlike any butter chicken Ive ever eaten in any country in Asia or even the US.. It was almost Italian in nature with the overload of tomato sauce in it. Ive never had Butter chicken that tasted like tomato sauce. It was horrid and we left over half of it on the table, along with that skanky pina colada. On the bright side the decor of the restaurant looks nice and the prices were not over the top. More expensive than the value as it turns out.A very disappointing experience...
MoreService was great, the food was served promptly. We needed the food mildly spiced for our guest, and she was delighted with the flavors. The host graciously suggested that 2 dinners would suffice for 3 people. We had the butter chicken, palak paneer, chapati, and peas pulau. These are crowd pleaser dishes. Atmosphere was charming. We will go here again.
MoreGreat tasting Indian food. Paneer tikka is delicious! Friendliest owner/host I have ever met. I will sure be coming back here!
MoreService was 5 star. Food was 1 star. If you are looking for authentic Indian food (and know what good authentic indian food tastes likestay clear of this place. I had the paneer makhani and choley and both tasted like they were cooked with ketchup or pasta sauce. It was disgusting. My husband had the tandoori murgha and he said it also felt it had an unusual sweetness to it like ketchup. I was surprised when the owners nephew said he was from Mumbai. I cant understand how he doesnt know what indian food should taste like. Huge disappointment!
MoreGreat prices, and pretty authentic Indian food, typically quite and cozy, the owners are really nice. Good starters and entrees. Best Indian food on the Island obviously.
MoreWhat a pleasant surprise to find authentic Indian food in Cozumel Mexico service was perfect food was delicious
MoreFriendly staff, authentic tastes and beautifully decorated, this is the best Indian restaurant Ive found on the island. Its central enough to be great for groups, is vegetarian friendly and they even make vegan, all you have to do is ask. Its within easy walking distance from downtown and is moderately priced. The food arrived quickly after we ordered and theyre happy to provide a doggy bag if you cant finish it, which youll be thankful for once you take a look at the extensive menu and realise you want to order multiple meals like we did, so you can try a little of everything.
MoreOur food was excellent, the service outstanding, thanks for staying open for us!
Great Indian food. Loads of flavour. Will return!
Excellant service. Great tasting food. Nice sized portions. Expect to spend some money but if you enjoy Indian cuisine you wont be disappointed. The restuarant is roomy and the decor adds to the ambiance. There is parking in the back. Take-out and delivery are also available.
MoreThe food here was super tasty and authentic. I was happy to find Indian food on Cozumel island as I am a vegetarian. Highly recommended if you are an Indian food lover!
MoreWe enjoyed a delightful and delicious dinner here. Each of our three dishes had unique flavors atop perfect basmati rice. Mona, the owner and host, along with all the staff greeted us warmly, informed us of the many menu options and shared a bit about her interesting life. Just wish it wasn’t so far from our home in Kansas City!
MoreIf you are craving something different from the usual tacos, nachos and beans while in Cozumel this is the place for you! The flavours of the entrees are excellent with just the right amount of spice and the rice dishes are an excellent portion as are the Naan. Service is great and the owner is very personable and attentive. We are from Toronto one of the food meccas of the world and this restaurant is on par with the Indian restaurants at home.
MoreExcellent service and delicious food. Must try!
Fantastic food with amazing, personalized service. This is terrific Indian food in a place you would least expect it, as good as any Ive had in the states. It is actually better than most places ranked in the top 10 in Cozumel on TA. It is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the walk. I highly recommend it and will be coming back soon.
MoreWe had butter chicken, aloo gobi vegetables, jeera rice and naan. I’ve eaten Indian food around the world and this rates as some of the best! Can’t wait to go back.
MoreWe eat Indian food once a week and have eaten it everywhere we’ve traveled. This is one of the best we’ve found. Mona is so sweet, she will work with you to create a custom dish if you like. Highly recommended!
MoreWe came over to Cozumel for the Carnival andfound the most amazing Indian Restaurant. We had the best Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Biryani. The Bindiya is only 4 blocksfrom the beach and is defiantly a must visit.
MoreI really love the samosas, plus the sauce they give you on side is real good too! Can’t beat the service of this place, I highly recommend it.Really good vegan options
MoreWe love Indian cuisine, and Bindiya Cozumel Mexico did NOT disappoint! It matches or beats any Indian food weve ever had, and weve had plenty. The decor is lovely and the owner and staff are delightful! We really love the hammered steel plates, bowls, and silverware, too. Enjoy!
MoreThe food is absolutely wonderful here, and the staff is very attentive. I have not eaten at a ton of Indian restaurants, but enough, and this restaurant is such a pleasant surprise! It is the best Ive personally eaten.
MoreFantastic Indian Cuisine! Great atmosphere and quality. Cant beat the customer service!
MoreMost worth it. Price is very reasonable, the food is great, staff are very friendly. They accept US dollar as well.EDIT: Miss dollar officially closed down
MoreLanded in Cozumel as a part of itinerary of Carnival Western Caribbean cruise and was craving for Indian food. Did not find any Indian restaurant in our previous cruises to Cozumel. But, we were luck today and found Miss Dollar restaurant not too far from the pier.Food was excellent. Tried tandoori chicken, Paneer Kadai, Gajar ka halwa, and Indian chai. All were flavorful with the right amount of ingredients. The owner was a delight to talk to and she made sure that we were comfortable and took good care of us. Very nice experience. Will come back again.
MoreWho would have thought of finding excellent Indian food on a tropical island in Mexico? The food was outstanding. Honestly the best tandoori chicken I have every had. The rice had so many tastes and flavors in it I wanted to keep eating it all night. And the owner makes you feel like you have stepped into her home.
MoreThis has been a Cozumel local landmark for years but recently it was turned into Cozumels first Indian restaurant. The food and service were wonderful and we had a great time. I plan to go back and try everything on the menu! They are still renovating and upgrading but it already rocks!
MoreThe restaurant formerly known as Miss Dollar, has opened under new owners bringing Cozumel a (long awaitedtaste of delicious North Indian cuisine!.. . Everything is delicious, fresh, and prepared from scratch..The butter chicken(my favoriteis absolutely divine... But my family, friends and I, have been working our way through the menu and discovering new favorites as well.. They have a trained chef from North India, who can also prepare South Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine. The owner Mona, is welcoming and friendly. Must try new restaurant!!!
MoreNice variety of inexpensive lunch specials daily or order from their extensive menu. Food is typical "Home style" food of this region of mexico.
MoreGreat value and portion size, delicious food, and friendly staff. They chef is willing to serve you as you like it.
