Great place for few hours stay. Also a good place for camping. Food and drink options are limited and only connection is through ferry or personal boats. From hilltop, you can get a nice view of city skyline. Not too many tourists in this place, so if you want to spend a quite and nice time with family, then it is an ideal place.

We had a wonderful full day on the island as part of a honeymoon..! Very instructive audio accompaniment and well worth the couple of bucks to get a full insight of what the island was, and became.Cafe was excellent and provided good tucker... and a cool beer on a scorching day..One small word of advice, is that we went in spring (Octoberand the gulls were nesting just below the Biloela Lawn. They are VERY territorial and WILL dive bomb you if you wander through this part of the island....All in all, a great piece of (possibly overlookedAussie history. Recommended.
