Contemporary European chain dishing up separate breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch and dinner menus.
Brill place, great staff, very good food, keen pricing, I will return
Lovely scones and great staff. Thank you for making my first visit to Sevenoak a great one.
Goto Branded or The Giggling Squid insteadAvoid Bills at all costs. We went for a meal having booked a table last Monday as we had family over from Australia. We were greeted and taken to our table where our waitress told me there were some menu items that were unavailable due to delivery issues, I was told that to save her having to tell the group she would tell me and I could tell everyone. The first red flag.We were given menus containing starters, mains and desserts, having seen desserts we wanted, we decided to have main courses and desserts rather than starters and mains. We ordered drinks next, some of the party had asked for large bottles of peroni, we were told that again due to a delivery issue they only had one, so the other guests would be given two small bottles for the same cost.We ate our main courses and were then presented with dessert menus and asked if we would like more drinks. Firstly the dessert menus were completely different to the ones we had seen initially and no longer offered our preferred options, we were told that the menus had changed (something we should have been told when we arrivedand that the desserts we had seen on the original menu were no longer available. Again, delivery issues were blamed for the new main menus not having arrived, despite having new dessert only menus?Secondly, we were told that on the second round of drinks that we would be charged for 8 small bottles rather than 4 large bottles. We asked for the manager to come and speak to us about these issues, he arrived at the table, his shirt half untucked and sar astically announced "How can I help". He then argued with us regarding the menus, stating that the menu had changed and there was nothing that could be done, when asked if he thinks we shouldve been told when we arrived he said yes, but the new menus havent arrived, hardly the point. He also told us that the second round of drinks had to be paid for and that he had authorised the reduction on the first round, this was a lie. The waitress told us at the table when we first ordered them, she did not leave to speak to him, so she couldnt possibly of asked his permission. The manager is arrogant, very unsympathetic and seems to have a God complex because "hes in charge".Simple steps couldve been taken to ensure that we returned again but the unwillingness to help, the lack of empathy and arrogance shown by the manager mean that I will not only never return, but also encourage others not to waste their time or money.
Visited as a group of 4 adults, 4 small kids and a dog.for brunch with a reservation. The team fitted us in but service was surprisingly slow for what I would normally expect to be quite fast food (pancakes and cooked breakfast). Childrens menus were available and affordable but there were no activity sheets to keep them occupied while we waited over half an hour for our food as might be found elsewhere. Food was pretty good but nothing special.
We had a good brunch at Bills - the brunch sandwich and American pancakes were both very good. Staff were polite and helpful, would definitely go again
I usually like dining at Bill’s but this Sevenoaks branch not up to the usual standards.Waitresses unattentive and stand around chatting rather than check on guests. Two of our party feeling unwell after the burgers. Won’t be returning.
Very friendly staff and excellent food. Suggest booking over a weekend though.
Friendly and attentive staff and manager, food excellent and a very cordial meal enjoyed by all. Thanks.
Horrible Burger. Cold, dry and unseasoned. The buns looked and tasted as if they were just taken off the bag and used , not grilled or warmed. Meat was dry and unseasoned.joke.
Gone too far downhill. Used to bring the kids here a lot for sunday breakfast, last couple of visits have been disappointing and todays will be the last. Only about 10 tables occupied but still the service was poor, kept having to ask for things over and over before they were brought, just basic stuff like ketchup. Drinks finally appeared after the food. It used to feel like the staff wanted you to be there, now they seem uninterested, dismissive and unwelcoming. There used to be a guy managing the place and he ran a tight ship here, but the lady I take to be the current manageress just seems like she doesnt want to be there and I think the staff feed off that attitude. Menu is also further pared back and the dishes are not as good as they were previously, the kids breakfast especially poor. We were glad to leave today.
Very rude introduction by young guy with moustache... asked me if I was ok about 5 times. Before saying they only had one chef and can’t take any more tables there were only 3/4 tables sitting lol strange
Visited this evening with family, I ordered the halloumi shawarma as my main. Half way through eating I realised something sharp was stuck in my mouth, upon taking it out to my disgust it was a human fingernail. Felt sick to my stomach and the evening was ruined. Immediately informed the male manager on shift of this who turned around to tell me it was a ‘piece of cooked onion’ that had ‘dried out under the heat lamp’ On what planet does cooked onion have the texture of a fingernail, it was a poor excuse to cover up the obvious lack of hygiene in the place and no doubt the chefs/cooks do not wear gloves. No apology, the meal was simply taken off the bill. I have never felt so disgusted and violated in a restaurant, will never ever be returning and will be sure to inform friends and family of this - beyond revolting
Disappointing experience. Seats were ripped with foam coming out.Food was lukewarm at best and the service was mediocre. The staff were busy watching and tapping on screens rather than attending to customers and we were not offered water at the table despite there being water glasses.Disappointing and unlikely to go back anytime soon.
Have been before, there is also one in Lewes and Ive eaten there as well. Food always been hood, they do a great burger and chips.Yummy
Ive visited the place twice.First time the experience was bad but I thought Ill give it another shot. Was a Monday afternoon, and as soon as we sit down the manager ran to our table and without introduction or even a "Hello" told us they dont serve food, to which I replied that Im happy to just have a drink. Rolling his eyes he gave us a menu.Ordered a Gin and tonic. Supposed to come with indian tonic and garnish of orange and lime. Came without garnish, and a light tonic instead. When I asked for the garnish, the waiter brought lime and lemon that looked like it was pulled out of a bin.To top it off, when I walked to the toilet I overhead the Manager telling the waitress "Those two who just sat down, I told them they are not allowed to eat, so dont offer".
Went in and there were half a dozen tables unoccupied, and got told they were full. No reserve sign on them. Lost our custom on this occasion. Went round to Basil restaurant instead and had a lovely meal.
Drove one hour to this restaurant from London, arrived at 11am to be told they aren’t serving breakfast whilst the website explicitly said breakfast is until 11am. Poor customer service, will not be returning to this place ever again.
We went at 4 in the afternoon, there were 2 other tables seated with their food as we arrived and although the food was delicious the service was slower than my teenager first thing in the morning.
We popped in for drinks and a coffee before the evening rush and we were made to feel very welcome, including our little dog. Roberto looked after us extremely well. Thank you!!#dogswelcome
Another fantastic breakfast. Always great service and tasty food here. Plus good coffee. Decor is wonderful.Easy to book via OpentableOpens at 8 so great for breakfast meetings in Sevenoaks.
Food was good, but girl that was our waitress oh my Dear… me and my friend we couldn’t eat or drink peacefully, she was constantly coming and asking if we are ok, I never had situation like this before in my life. They usually would approach you two three times at maximum and ask if everything is ok, and that’s perfectly fine. But that girl came up to us around 15 times if not more, we only had a couple of drinks and meal. Our conversation was constantly distracted, she was polite and all that, but we didn’t like that she seems had no training whatsoever how to deal with customers. We believe this is down to management as full training should be provided. We have been at Bills in Tunbridge Wells too and service was good, as it should be. So maybe if full training would be provided for very young staff then that wouldn’t be a problem anymore
Popped in yesterday after being drenched by a downpour, hungry with our little dog and the team at Bills Sevenoaks were very accommodating and welcoming. We had a great table in a quiet corner in which we felt very covid safe.Service was great and food was delicious. We had a really nice lunch and will definitely be coming back again .
With a table booked for a Friday night Bill’s was about half full and definitely a most pleasant place to while away a couple hours with friends. There’s a sense that they had fun decorating the place, not some corporate copy-paste or generic gastro pub despite evening a chain. It has quite a warm homely feel despite parrots mixing with hot air balloons - the lighting is particularly good. The service was friendly throughout, jovial even, and the food well priced. Someone clearly had fun making the festive menu. The sharing starter was a good size for three men and the burgers as expected. There’s a fun mix of drinks and we even had to check that the Gin-gle Bells genuinely was £2.99 and not a typo (others were more like £7-8). It wasn’t overly sweet and put a smile on my face.Warm and friendly, take your family or have a nice dinner with a few friends.
What a wonderful first time visiting bills in sevenoaks. Friendly fast service really go above & beyond. It was my partner’s birthday & they made him feel really special with a surprise desert & candle singing him happy birthday. We will definitely will be visiting again the staff made it such a pleasurable visitation & the food was amazing.
Our family had a great evening at Bills Sevenoaks tonight. Our waitress May was really friendly, helpful and super polite. May was great with our two children and we felt that she made a great effort.Thank you for a great experience.
Food was good, service was very slow though (this was about lunchtimeand had no one to greet us on arrival. Towards the end of the meal, discovered there were bit of glass on the bench seats outside, lucky there was no cuts. Not the perfect experience.
Had the buttermilk Caesars salad and the chicken breast was moist but lack of flavour. The salad wasnt crunchy because the warm chicken was resting on it for too long.
Honestly a lovely little place, would highly recommend. The good was amazing and the staff were so polite and helpful it was a delight to go there for dinner. They were really animating as well. I would recommend the Korean burger for sure.
Website states that the restaurant is open until 22.00 on Sunday’s with continuous service. We were turned away at 14.40 as they were ‘just finishing serving those who are seated’. After leaving we checked and the website was accepting table bookings for 15.00. Used to come here a lot not sure we will bother again.
There was only one dish available from the four choices on the gluten free menu. The waitress was a bit unsure of everything. Service was slow and the steak was tough.... Saying all that, the food was tasty (if chewyhowever the complusary 12% service charge was the final thing that meant we wont be coming back, such a shame!
It was OK...food was nice. They did keep bringing us other peoples food and bills though! It took 3 goes to get the right bill for our table. Also (minor issuebut the high chairs dont have straps so my toddler kept trying to stand up/dive out! They also put down a kids plate of food saying be careful the plate is really hot and then placed it right in front of my toddler 🤦
The food is really good but they need to work on the details to make it a great experience. Changing the cutlery between courses, not forgetting the drinks (twice). Overall though you are guaranteed a decent meal.
The place is beautiful, great food but what we liked the best was the waitress. I dont know her name. Blonde and with a very big smile. She is definitely a hospitality person and she made our day better!
So I’ll start with the only negative which is that the selection could have been slightly bigger however I suspect that is due to the current times and hopefully will improve in the future! Saying that, myself and my parter ordered different starters and mains and we did have a lovely meal, all dishes were great, cooked excellently and not a scrap left behind, the taco starter honestly was a shock, I didn’t expect it to be that good, absolutely recommend it if you like fish, and was not stingy on portion size, service was great too and everyone was very friendly. We will be back for sure!
this was my first time coming to eat at bills, i went with my mum and dad (who have been before). i have to say, it was an amazing first experience for me.the food was excellently presented and tasted lovely.they cater for allergies extremely well - one of us had pineapple and haddock allergies and the staff thoroughly checked what we ordered and ensured there was no contamination at all. this is outstanding service.the desserts were absolutely lovely. (the photos show the apple, elderflower and gooseberry crumble; the triple chocolate brownie and the strawberry donuts).we had no issues at all, and would 100% recommend this restaurant to everyone.we had a great experience and a lovely night out, thank you for the great service, bills :)
Overpriced food and tasteless. I visited on a Monday night with four other people and the place was virtually empty but we were still asked if we had made a reservation and then were kept waiting whilst they decided whether or not to let us in to dine. We were then placed in a side booth which was totally inadequate. Half the menu was unavailable and they also added 20% surcharge onto the bill which did not impress me at all. The staff were attentive and helpful up to a point which is why I have given them 2 stars rather than 1.
That was the best chicken salad Ive ever had.Wife had eggs Benedict and loved it.Calamari is right up there.Looked to be a nice family place, plenty of people catching the sun with their kids and pets.Ill come back when my parents come around for a fancy brunch.
We went to Bills for lunch to celebrating my friends birthday..the staff were great and even sang "happy birthday " to her when they brought her cake out to the table..thank you guys xxc
Waitress forgot our nacho starter but did apologise. I had fish pie, it was a bit bland. I did think the menu was a bit light on selection, pre covid I seem to recall more variety? My friend enjoyed her Eggs Benedict.
Exceptional place! Despite the British cousin, there are some vegetarian options. And if you’re a pescatarian, I would highly recommend Bill’s fish pie! In the pandemic times, staff provides a lot if safety options and it’s pretty clear and cozy place. Give it a try, wherever you visit Sevenoaks :)
Nice place with large seating area and comfortable seating. Service was very good from when greeted at the entrance, to being served at table. The waitresses gave service with a smile which is always nice. The food was decent however Ive had slightly better tasting food at other Bills restaurants. All in all a good experience.
My partner took me and my little ones to breakfast here and I have to say that the service in this current climate (Pandemic 2020was exceptional! Temperature check on arrival, hand sanitiser on every table, seated within the correct distance of other customers... the list goes on. Let’s also not forget that breakfast was pretty fantastic too!
I’m visited here in the 12/08/2020. I had pre booked online. The staff were great and attentive. The food was really nice. I think the main improvement to the food would be the sea bass - it’s topped with avocado, cherry tomato and caper salsa. The issue was the salsa was cold where as the fish and rösti was hot. It really does put a downer on the dish. The salsa should have been room temperature at least.I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area.
Good place, tasty food and very proffetional and polite staff! Recommend it!
Soup tasted a little water and was only luke warm, but flavour was ok.Steak was small and quite chewy, and was not cooked to the level I asked (medium-well), but again, the flavour was ok.Service was good.
Really lovely restaurant. Great family atmosphere.staff always friendly and helpful. Food original and good value for money.
Great food, lovely decor. Popped in for coffee last week (cinnamon donuts were fabulouswent back today for breakfast.
Bills Restaurants are generally very good. Predominately English cuisine to sit all tastes, including vegan, and a nice own named beer (brewed by Harveysand a nice unique Bills atmosphere common to all their branches. Duck pie was not the favourite of the dishes I have had. Their fish pie is very good as are their burgers. Christmas special vegan dish was appreciated. Recommended.
First time at a bills restaurant, left happy.Had the pork dumplings for starters. Great texture, both soft and crunch at the same time and the sauce complimented it very well. The sea bass was my main, didnt look very large on the bowl but was actually a fair amount there. Very nicely done and cooked just right. The waitress recommended the pecan pie, and I can see why, I would go back to Bills just for that.Service was very good and food was served in good time. Around average price for a restaurant meal.
The food is better at Spoons, and its more than twice as expensive!Really think for what you get it is very overpriced. This is the 3rd Bills I have been to, (having been invited out with friendsand they have all been the same, so I feel I can say with confidence that the quality of food they deliver isnt very good. The venue was very clean and has an interesting decor that keeps you looking round. The staff are friendly and the service is professional and prompt. It really is the food and price, which is a pretty fundamental problem for a restaurant. The starters and main portions are small, with alot of the food not seeming all that fresh.
